Description

For those who have three consecutive "First to Finds"

I'm publishing this cache to celebrate my luck in finding three consecutive "first to finds".

My FTFs were on 18 and 19 and 25 May 2010.

To log this cache, you must have three finds as FTFs without any other finds in between.  You must be able to claim the FTF in your own right, and not sharing the FTF with other cachers.

The FTFs must all be on physical caches. (Traditional, Multi, Puzzle, Earthcache, movable)

Not: Event, CITO, Locationless, Virtual.

The caches must have hidden dates on or after 26 May, 2010.

The qualifying caches can be either GC or GCA, or a mixture.

Go for it, get out there and have fun!!

To make your claim, you must include the cache names and waypoint numbers in your log.

Wally

PS.

I have lowered the difficulty rating on this cache to 3.5, because 22 finds in four months indicate it is not a 5 difficulty.

Logs

This geocache listing no longer follows the guidelines required for a Locationless cache. https://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Locationless_cache As such we will archive it and encourage the CO to place a locationless cache that meets the new guidelines.

I think the last time I did it was back on 9 June 2014 when I managed 7 FTFs. The last 6 were the clues to a multi final but it was becoming more and more of a bush bash and raining, by that stage the iPhone cover was so wet I couldn't get the screen to respond. So I have still yet to get the final part of it.

This was very much a lucky case of being in the right place at the right time.
We had travelled to Geelong for an event and were locating many caches in the area when this PTiaB GA series caught my eye.
Being intrigued I asked Muggle Hubby to stop for it, on our way to other caches.
What a pleasant surprise to find 20 individual caches in the one box, all unfound, and it had been published days earlier.
It was with great delight that I carefully added our name to each log.
It had another huge benefit as it was during a dragon zone challenge and each find scored exponentially higher values, meaning I jumped through quite a few dragon zone levels to emerge a much more prestigious dragon slayer than before.
Thanks for this locationless Wallyhunt, which appeared in the Gallery this morning, and has been twelve months unloved.
My claim is for PTiaB (Power Trail In a Box) #1-20 GA12353-54,55,56,57 on the 8/6/15

Today I went out to find a FTF or two or three! The first in the series was a DNF as I couldn’t open the puzzle cache, however the other five were all found and signed! The caches were
1. GC7X32Q Mt Barrow Discovery Trail 6 - Visitor Centre
2. GC7X33C Mt Barrow Discovery Trail 5 - Old Logging Hut
3. GC7X32H Mt Barrow Discovery Trail 4 - Jubilee Tree Stump
Today I found five traditional Mt Barrow Discovery caches and all FTF

Yesterday was a holiday for me and I noticed that there were four new caches published in a nearby town - Carrick. I had this cache in mind when I set off at daybreak to hopefully beat all those other eager geocachers to the FTF. The first one took a bit if finding as it has fallen from its hiding place and some early morning cyclists disturbed my hunting! The second was a much quicker find and the third cache was a DNF so I went looking for the fourth cache with the pressure mounting as I had to find it to get the three FTFs in one day. No prickly bush would stop me and very soon I had my third FTF for the morning. Quickly back home and no one would know I had even been out!
The three caches I found were Neighbour GC7M6A5
On your Knees GC7M69X
Liffey GC7M6AC.

> For those who have three consecutive "First to Finds"

Hah! That's me! A long long time ago (last August or so), Zalgariath published the North Sydney Cycleway Series, a set of seven caches between Chatswood and Sydney. I didn't pay much attention to it, it's on the other side of the George's River. However, this week I was tired of life, the universe and everything else and needed a break. What better than a nice cycle!

So, I checked out his series and yes, the first two were already found so that means it was checked by others to be fine. How wrong was I? Only the first three of the seven were done, the others were still unfound! Oh oh, will I take the chance and go in without the possibility of a PAF? I'm a big boy, I'm brave, I can do it!

So, three FTFs that day, including a path tag in the swag!

I was caching in Bundaberg Qld and stayed over night and was going down to Maryborough to hunt for two when seven new caches were published on or

Found 7 FTF's in a row back on 12th Feb 2012. Still have great memories of the night. After another hot day in Perth it started raining in the evening, quite heavily. Around 10pm a series of new caches were published along the Perth coastline, so off I went, grabbing a fellow cacher on the way. Here are the final 3 of the night;

1. Find 30 - West Coast Wander - No.9 GC3ATD0
2. Find 30 - West Coast Wander - No.6 GC3ATDB
3. Find 30 - West Coast Wander - No.4 GC3ATDG

Hi wallyhunt
Three notifications came through last night, two puzzles and a traditional - woke early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep so had a crack at all three and was lucky enough to get three FTFs:

2. GC58XVE "Montrose List 02 - Vapour Trail" by Barad Bunch;

Hi wallyhunt
Had an unusual FTF series of finds today.
Found three caches with three clean logs one after the other and got them all:
1. GC50RVV "Giggle town six pack #4 Willow Court" by tx4000
2. GC50RRC "Giggle town six pack #3 Old Bush Inn" by tx4000
3. GC50RR4 "Giggle town six pack #4 Woodbridge" by tx4000
My log explains the unusual circumstances of the finds

My log read:
"Hi tx4000
Had to perform maintenance on "The Road That Should Be #1" and continued on to New Norfolk to look for "Giggle town six pack #1-4" not knowing they had been temporarily archived. Found that out later on in the day when I checked to see if the GC Website was working. My apologies if I have found this cache before you wanted. However, found quickly - busy spot here too!
Sainted today for an *FTF* at 1220hrs
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint"

Never-the-less all caches will be re-activated in the near future when cache #5 is having better luck being published.
But I still got the first to finds without another cache in between those finds; so am logging this cache for smiley
I had fun, they're great caches.
TFTC and cheers

Playing catch-up on some locationless cache finds today. I have found many FTFs during the GCA/CachingGames moveable races, but for this cache I'll instead choose a lucky run on the GCA "Pet Rocks at Brimbank" series where I was excited to find myself with about half of the caches still unfound - nothing like a run of FTFs to pick up your walking pace and searching speed! I'll select just three of these which happened to have consecutive GAxxxx codes found in order:
"Captain" - GA4436,2012-07-06T23:52Z,Found it,""
"Dante" - GA4437,2012-07-06T23:59Z,Found it,""
"Ezio" - GA4438,2012-07-07T00:03Z,Found it,""

On our recent trip to the 'Big Island' we came to a little town in outback Queensland called Augathella. We had planned to attempt 2 of the new caches here but we were so impressed with the quality of these containers and their log books that we eventually found 5 of the 6. We would have had a crack at the one furthest from town too but we were too worried about running out of fuel to attempt it.
When checking which 4 of the 5 we found we got FTF's on I was disappointed to read that one of the caches has been muggled and the log book stolen. Such a pity as these are a work of art.
Anyway, on 12 Aug 2013 we had consecutive FTF's on:

GC4HV25 Traditional One River: "Crossing Over" Augathella, Queensland, Australia

GC4HTXM Traditional One River: "Sweet Place" Caroline Crossing, Queensland, Australia

GC4J0TQ Traditional One River: "The Boost" Caroline Crossing, Queensland, Australia

GC4HTZ5 Traditional ONE RIVER: "Perfect Catch" Gowrie Station, Queensland, Australia

Thanks, and will include some photos of the containers and log books in this series.

I got my three consecutive FTF's some time ago (23/6/2012), all in the one day as they were part of a series.
The caches were:
GC3NDA3 AP 240 C=C=C 40
GC3NDA0 AP 239 C=C=C 39
GC3ND9Y AP 238 C=C=C 38
GC3ND9X AP 237 C=C=C 37
These were all solo FTF's. At the next cache (GC3ND9T AP 236 C=C=C 36)I met AusTrackers so this was a joint FTF and this is where the run of FTF's ended.

Finally I can claim this one today after a DNF (see below) some time ago. Picked up a FTF yesterday and then a new power trail was published this morning and we just happened to be out at the right end when some hadn't been found yet so picked up another four straight. There is already a dispute over some of these it seems although I definitely signed blank logs in first place.

Hi wallyhunt
Got another three FTFs on the 28th May 2012 along the New Town Rivulet in Tasmania.
There are seven caches in this series, the first four of which I acted as a Beta Tester for the owner "Budgietas".
Promised I wouldn't get the FTFs on this four but could go for the remainder in the series as I had no idea where or how they had been hidden.
The three FTFs were:
1. GC3KW31 "New Town Rivulet Track #5 by budgietas;
2. GC3KW60 "New Town Rivulet Track #7 by budgietas;
3. GC3KW31 "New Town Rivulet Track #6 by budgietas

It was our lucky day - although we did work hard or should I say 'walk far' for these... Here are the other 3 FTF's we found at Litchfield Park on th 12th May 2012

1. Lizard City GC3JNK1
2. Picnic at Florence Rock GC3JNKV
3. Walk with all the frills GC3JNND

We were very pleased to grab all 6 caches hidden by TiedyeSmileys - all were well worth a favourite point....

2. GC3JNRP Wangi Tree Tops

Hi wallyhunt
The second was in a gorge north of Buckland and turned out to be a caching day that I will never forget! Not knowing it at the time; feeling light headed, nauseas and crampy, I continued on to complete all three caches; after having been bitten by a snake (you may wish to read the logs):
GC30VR7 "Looping the Bluff!" by red tag found on the 5th Nov 2011
GC2ZJGX "Sanding Room Only" by red tag found on the 5th Nov 2011
GC2ZJFA "No Bluffing, By Gorge!" by red tag found on the 5th Nov 2011;
It also happened that the 5th Nov 2011 is my parent's wedding anniversary - I could have been better off going to help them celebrate.
TFTC and cheers;
OldSaint.

Hi wallyhunt
Just checked my caching records and have found that I have achieved this event three times:
The first:
GC21544 "Lagoon Bay" by Graham51 on the 23 Nov 2009.
Without another cache being found, I then found
TP5182 "Arthur R/tower" by Geocaching Australia on the 25 Nov 2009
TP5181 "Arthur Mt" by Geocaching Australia on the 25 Nov 2009.

Hi wallyhunt
Had camped at a place called "Lost Falls" on the East Coast of Tasmania when notification of three new caches all placed by Tassie Trekkers came through. Had found two at Lost Falls on the morning of the 17th Jan 2012 and headed for the first of the new caches as quickly as I could.
The first: GC3AT5A "Great Oyster Bay Lookout" S41 58.426; E148 09.037 where I found a clean log and claimed FTF.
Drove all the way to Bicheno, Tasmania;
The second: GC3AVE2 "Bicheno Blowhole" S41 52.807; E148 18.480 another log with no writting, another FTF with no other cache found by me between these two finds.
From here, back down the coast to the third:
GC3AT76 "Bagot Point" S42 05.795; E148 14.073 for another straight find of a cache with a clear log.
The third consecutive FTF for the day without a find by me in between.
MAGIC!!!
Covered some miles to accomplish this feat, but was worth it!
TFTC and cheers;
OldSaint

Finally, finally finally! I get to log this cache. I've got 3 in a row twice before, but both were with other cacher in bush locations where it would be insane to go solo. Today I managed to get 3 consecutive FTF on newly published caches just by being the right place at the right time.

WanderingAus wandered by on day 76 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, after dropping the WanderingMrs (aka SWMBO) at Nightcliff Sports Club for a couple of hours of line dancing. Last night I tossed up - go night caching while the WanderingMrs goes line dancing, or catch up on the logs for the day and let the locals fight it out.

I felt so bad about getting First To Find on GC2XJV7 Another Adelaide before the locals, that I decided to give them a 20 hour head start. When there are First To Finds at stake I employ the five minute rule, and I had already failed to find GC31N69 Follow the Path #6 by Doodle Bug Oz within the time limit, so I moved on and claimed First To Find on GC31N66 Follow the Path #5 by Doodle Bug Oz and GC31N3B Across the Road #4 by corunnaroad, failed to find GC31N3A Across the Road #3 by corunnaroad, and claimed First To Find on GC31N3F The Old Parap by corunnaroad.

I then returned to Follow the Path #6 and claimed First To Find on it on the second attempt after a total of 14 minutes searching. From there I returned to Across the Road #3 and claimed First To Find on it on the second attempt after a total of 18 minutes searching.

By the time I'd logged the fifth find and returned the cache I was able to get back to pick up the WanderingMrs with two minutes to spare and five First To Finds under my belt. Big GrinCool

We had lunch at the Nightcliff Foreshore (as we do most Tuesdays lately), so it was a while before we got back to the caravan. By the time I'd connected to the internet thelandlockedsailor had reported Second To Find on four of the caches. Follow the Path #6 was too hard for him, and I probably only found it because I've got a similar hide near Perth, and after discounting all other possibilities thought "maybe it's one of those".

It's impossible to guess when I will next get a chance for a First Three. I've already got two towards it, just one more to go. I could hold off hunting until a cache is placed I suppose, and hope that I get to it first. It's hard when caches aren't being placed.

Since we arrived in Darwin on 8 June 11 there have been 11 caches placed within a 75 CroK radius, and I've claimed First To Find on 6 of them. I also usually get beaten by the cachers who get Published emails on their phones, or by the ones who never seem to sleep. I think the only reason I got these was because the regular Darwin FTF hounds seem to be out of town or out of the game lately.

Very Happy I have had the cache on my planned list for a while, but generally I have not been quick enough to get the to GZ for that elusive First to find. Only 3 in nearly two years caching. My luck changed today DancingMr. Green After having achieved two First to Finds last Friday on the way home, (the third was a DNF), today a cache popped up close to work, that is a lunchtime grab, and there it was 3 consecutive First to Finds in 6 days. Doubling my tally Razz, Thanks Wallyhunt for a great idea. The 3 First to finds are
29 Apr 2011 - GC2TYD4 – The Special Tree
29 Apr 2011 - GC2TYDA – In the Park
05 May 2011 -GC2V3CR – Wileyclan's Rocko Tour - Cliff Head

This was an easy one in a way today as I expected to get all 4 if I got the forst one, although I did have to paddle a canoe several Km's to get the 4 caches.
On yer' boat! #1 (Mangrove Island) - GL5DT09Q
On yer' boat! #2 (Hurstville Bay) - GL5DT0AM
On yer' boat! #3 (The Old Oyster Farms) - GL5DT0BG
On yer' boat! (Bonus) - GL5DT0CE

Done today, and I got home to find several new caches in the inbox, but none cloee enough to grab a first on as well.

Thought I would never get this one as I'm not usually a FTF hunter. However there was a new trail and I decided to do it. Struck it lucky by getting FTF's on 3 of them. Struck it even luckier as the 3rd FTF hadn't been listed at the time of my finding so a bit of a fluke really.

Ahh, I now have the pleasure of logging this one. AussieCacher hid about 5 new caches on 8/3/11, and I happened to be home and they were in my area. So off I drove.

1. Crown Land Entrance GC2P7XW - 12.34pm
2. Pointless Locked Gate GC2P7XX - 12.44pm
3. Bus Stop Shelter GC2P7YR - 1.46pm

And even a 4th FTF.

4. The Chirping Forest GC2P7XZ - 2.22pm

Great hides and was great to finally get 4 FTF's in a row Wink

Three new caches were listed nearby today. I was FTF at http://coord.info/GC2PDQP then fifteen minutes later FTF at http://coord.info/GC2PDAK. I headed off to http://coord.info/GC2PBBN thinking I had it in the bag only to find I was 2TF by 20 minutes to alfyboy!

Three FTFs in a row in Sydney are not that easy to come by! Need a series.

WanderingAus wandered by on a hunting, maintenance and placement run, and after claiming my first First Three it was only another ten minutes before I made an extremely quick and easy GAFF 0 find of GC2N3WY Bries Waroona Wander - Centennial Park by Allys Angels to claim FTF at 12:05 PM.
Fifteen minutes later I made an extremely quick and easy GAFF 0 find of GC2N3WC Bries Waroona Wander - Willowdale Road by Allys Angelsto claim FTF at 12:20 PM.
After another fifteen minutes I made another extremely quick and easy GAFF 0 find of GC2N3W1 Bries Waroona Wander - Yarloop Steam Workshop by Allys Angels to claim FTF at 12:35 PM, thus completing my second First Three on the day.

My hunting was delayed a little after that, firstly by placing my multi-cache GC2NAG1 WanAus 187 - Waroona Wetland Walk, and then by placing my multi-cache GC2NBF8 WanAus 188 - LKA Waroona. I also took time out to eat some lunch.

At 2:35 PM I made a very quick and easy GAFF 0 find of GC2N3YY Bries Waroona Wander - To Waroona Dam by Allys Angels to claim FTF, which should have been the first in my next set of First Three, but unfortunately the heat was getting to me, and I DNF'd the next two. When I returned two months later I couldn't believe how easily I found them, but that's caching.

It's hard to guess when I will next get a chance for a First Three, I usually get beaten by the cachers who get Published emails on their phones, or by the ones who never seem to sleep.

I'm also a little late logging this First Three, but better late than never.

Have had several joint FTF's since starting geocaching, but yesterday (January 19th 2011) was my first three FTF's on my own... Luckily three new caches came up in my area and I got notification via email that they had been published... Got the details and off I went to find the three caches untouched... Yay for me...
The three caches are:
19/01/2011 - GC2MHBW - AN Cache (Traditional)
19/01/2011 - GC2MFBH - Baker's Dozen (Traditional)
19/01/2011 - GC2MHBY - Red Leg (Traditional)

Our first caching Trio was on the afternoon of the 01-12-2009, when two of RTEC+ caches were listed, “Barefoot in the Park” & “Sir Thomas”. We found “Barefoot in the Park” a well constructed and placed cache and while logging noticed a set of co-ordinates in reference to another cache? OK what is this about we thought! So off to the next one “Sir Thomas” which was one of the most cleverly concealed out in the open caches that we had come across. Again while signing the log there was another set of co-ordinates. So we punched them into the Garmin and found it to be about 500 meters away, so after driving closer it was off for a 300 meter hike into bush land with absolutely no idea what type of cache container we were looking for, terrain or difficulty levels. We finally reached GZ and after some head scratching geo-wife made the find. We had to wait until the following day before the cache “Cadel” was listed. We had a fantastic time doing these 3 FTF’s and picked up a $10 scratchy as a FTF prize in each cache. DancingDancingDancing

Caches were

GC21KT5 - Sir Thomas - Traditional
GC21KT9 - Cadel - Multi

Just realised I got this one on 25 October with FTF on 3 caches in the Ashmore Amble series by Aussie Liahona. I see MGROCKS also got her find with 3 Aussie Liahona caches too. Mine were:

Ashmore Amble #1 GC2H6PC
Ashmore Amble #5 GC2H6PZ
Ashmore Amble #3 GC2H6PV

I found the first one in the morning. Later that afternoon I was driving to Nerang when I saw another cache had come out so I changed course and managed to get that one too. While doing that one I saw a third come up and walked to do it at the same time. All in all a very satisfactory non-caching day! Certainly didn't expect to get a find on this locationless, and only that I just looked it up to see what it was I wouldn't have got a find now. It's always worth looking - you never know when you might get a find.
