Description
Sigh, every family has one....
William had a troubled upbringing amongst the Gnome family. He didn't do well at school, couldn't get a steady job or a steady girlfriend and one day he turned to the bottle. He's never been the same since then, and is rarely without a bottle in his hands, we've managed to temporarily convince him that a cache container is a good substitute, but we seek your help to keep him on the straight and narrow.
Although, since his favourite saying is 'I only drink on 2 occasions when I’m thirsty and when I’m not' we don't hold out much hope. (I'd take him to AA, but I'm too busy caching!!!)

Here lies William,
He travelled far, he travelled wide,
But alas one day, poor Bill, he died.

jumped off from my car and resting in hiding place and wait for new finder
My usual Monday night caching run was delayed due to the recent Christmas festivities so I was able to squeeze a cache run in on the following Wednesday Night. As I was finishing Parallel Universes (GC38vVRA I bumped into Littlemerpip and we decided to catch up later in the evening and hit a few caches to the south. But before we met up I had to go and collect the unfound gnomes here at Braeside. There were all looking good and happy. Thanks.

Gnomes are gathering plotting to take over the frogs that are invading their turf
Grabbed this bloke from the big desert with his four mates, time to move on Bill, confiscated his bottle of Shiraz as well, been hanging around this campsite way too long off to the big smoke for you
Extracted this rude gnome from the bushes near the Mildura Motocross Track. The smallest member of the group is quite attached to him and had to cuddle him like a baby as we walked back to the car.

Found this drunkard dozing on the side of a major road here in Canberra and thought it would be best to get him away from trouble. Am heading out to Mildura tomorrow so he will come along for the drive and I will find him a "dry" place to comtemplate his next journey.

This gnome can only be found between the hours of 8am and 6pm as the gates get closed overnight.
This one made me giggle....nice to see some more gnomes in town.

Candy Cane 101 and I went for a walk this afternoon, placing gnomes in this area, according to some very specific instructions by Black Bunny. We haven't been told why, but we suspect a pattern is emerging. We also suspect that we were told to do it in a certain way, just to make us cross the creek the maximum number of times en route. We had fun anyway, and saw a lot of kangaroos and a few brown bunnies.
Went for a drive with black bunny and Just a cacher to a event., when the event was over, there were 50 gnomes and pathtag swapping
Thanks for the gnome

Grabbed this fellow to bring back to Canberra after the GLF & GFF event at Mt Victoria. One of 50 gnomes at the GLF & GFF event.
A chance to catch up with some Sydney cachers that we have only parried with on the forums, enjoy some good company and swap some tags.

Found at the gnome event at Mount Victoria.
It was a great day! The gnomes enjoyed it, and so did the non-gnomes.
Good food, good company, good pathtags, and magnificent weather and views!

Went for a drive today to catch up with a few gnomes that I heard were gathering at an event in the Blue Mt's. Something about the GLF and GFF calling a truce.
Meet a few gnoming aficiandos and even eat my way through a couple of gnome cup cakes (Thanks to Just a Cacher for those) while signing (almost) all the logs.
A great way, and a great spot, to spend an hour or 2.
Thanks to all who attended, great to meet you, along with the gnomes.

'Bill the Booze-Hound' was one of the delegates at the Mt Victoria meeting between the GLF and the GFF. He even stayed sober long enough for the conference. the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was duly signed by the 50 Gnomes present and every Gnomes went on his way very happy with the result.

I can't believe that, after all this time, Bill is still getting around and is up to his old tricks!
Logged him at the GLF/GFF GCA Gnome event on One Tree Hill in Mt. Victoria, NSW.
He went off with rogerw3. I wish them both good luck!

Dropped with some counterparts at the Blue Mtns event
Took the opportunity of early morning quiet to retrieve Bill from the park bench he had been sleeping beside! It was only 2 degrees at the botanical gardens and with a thick frost on the ground Bill must have had his 'beer blanket' on.... Bill will head to Mt Victoria tomorrow to socialise with some other gnomadic individuals at GA3178 GLF & GFF Gnomes Meeting tomorrow. TFTC Oz Lurker

We found Bill today while doing a few caches around Wagga. Bill has decided to come with us for a journey up north. He should have found a new place to stay in the next week or so.
Move completed. Take a seat and feel around.

Bill appeared to have been on a pub crawl in recent times as when we found him, he still looked under the weather.
We moved him on to dry out away from any social locations and night activity for his own good.
Cache and log sheet all dry and in good condition.
Many thanks to Oz Lurker.

Attached to the beautiful Wagga Wagga Botanical Gardens is bush-land that has many walking trails including an exercising course. I found a nice location between two of the exercise stations for this gnome to wait and be discovered by some of the local Riverina Cachers, who I am sure, will take good care of him.
Bill the booze hound, is sad that he was not able to share the sights of Camden with another gnome-cachers. So he is now off to Wagga Wagga this week and I am sure that there are some GCA gnome-cachers down there who will be glad to show him around and share a drink or two with him.
I'm glad he's still safe. I can see now on google maps that I was looking on the wrong side of the road, which is where the coords took me. That is very strange!!!!!
I didn't have the cache page info or hint to check out what was wrong.

I came on gnome gnapping mission to rescue those gnomes stranded in Camden for the last week. Now poor Bill has been left behind cause I'd found him before BUT this time I couldn't find him at all. Poor Bill might miss out on the post race party. Him and his boozin ways will be missed.

So after a wild night drinking rum with Geo Pirate it I was glad to bid them farewell. There is one spot at Camden where cowboys and rodeo riders can get a sore bottom, and then head off for a drink or two. This is at the Polocrosse, Camp Draft and Rodeo training facilities. As part of the Equestrian Centre that was built for training prior to the Sydney Olympics. Throughout the year Camden host a wide variety of horse orientated events.
His guy looks like he could be trouble, however he has promise to behave if I share a port or 2 with him after dinner tonight. Now he is suggesting a Pina Colada by the pool this afternoon, that may not be a bad idea!

Bill was too much trouble and I got sick of seeing his bare bottom. This cheeky gnome does nothing but roll around on the floor and demand drinks. no place for drunks here so I opened the front door and he stumbled across the road and collapsed under a bush.
He he he he....... Bill was easy to gnome gnap. I thought I'd seen the last of this rude, cheeky bare bottomed gnome. But wait... that was he twin Bazza. So there I was outside the entrance to Rivendell, an adolescent psych hospital..... chasing after a gnome. Did anyone see me??? Not sure but they thought I probably fit right in. Finally, I yanked him out by the leg where he proceeded to pull his pants down and show me his bottom again. I swore I'd take him to admissions and he promised to be good. Ha..... that only lasted until I threw him in the boot where he caused a ruckus with the Old Grey Nomad and Mr Bump.

I had to do something to fill in time while my son trained.
Now outside Concord Hospital.

Mrs. pjmpjm and I took a long walk this evening and brought Bill with us. The idea was to get him out of the house as quickly as possible. Mrs. pjmpjm thought that he was an extremely bad influence, even though he seemed to be sleeping most of the time. She tried to get his pants pulled back up, but they seem to keep slipping down.
Anyhow, we went as far south as we could and left Bill behind a telephone pole in the rain. Maybe the cool night air will sober him up a bit. Somehow, however, I doubt it.
Could someone please drive to Leura and time him away?
Soon?
Thanks in advance.

It's true that I don't tolerate unsupervised gnomes in either of my 'home territories.' It's not wise, in general, to let these guys roam around and do whatever strikes their little fancies. Those of you who have been involved with 'the race' since December 1st know what I mean.
And it's doubly true with this guy. You have absolutely no idea what he's going to get up to, because he's permanently 'off the wagon' in a serious way.
The Ned Kelly Gnome was the only other gnomic traveller in recent times that worried me more . . . but for different reasons.
Anyhow, I have both Bill and Matt Patt under very strict supervision at the moment, in the back seat of the GeoBuru. And the garage door is locked.
I'll have to think seriously around where I turn Bill loose. I could be foisting endless trouble on an innocent neighbourhood.

As punishment Bill is now bait for my other pjm trap. As you know pjms are very protective of their home range against Gnomes. Experts are at a loss to explain this behaviour as pjms are a very amiable creatures. They do have multiple home range and usually move from one to the other weekly, but make no mistake any Gnome will be hunted down. The pjm has been know to rush out of his lair at midnight after catching scent of a Gnome invading his range.
Bill has been gnapped, not a difficult feat as he was still quite inebriated from the night before, or was it from this morning. It is hard to tell with Bill since he hardly stops drinking. He has been moved to a new drier location.

Perhaps he was an old salt at some stage, but in any case he decided to get out and sit under a shrub watching the comings and goings of the navy. Hopefully he won't get bored with it and head up to the Sydney Festival for some action.
I see he hasn't mended his ways since we last met. As I picked him up he threw up all this water from the recent rains, I think some serious rehab is in order.

Besides boozing Bill just loves watching birds. I thought this would be a good spot for him to catch up on that activity. When I left him he just made it out of the gutter onto the footpath and lay down awating some activity.
Thought we should grab Bill before the neighbours complained about his partying. I was sure we had seen him before but then realised we had picked up his twin last time.

I don't know what Bill had been up to but he was filthy when I found him. I took him home for a well deserved shower and feed and he will be back out on the road again soon.

Bill was in a hurry to find some more drinking mates so he came for a drive to meet Thor and Gnanome. We hopped out of the car and walked down through the park but as soon as they saw him, they ran off back to my car, jumped in and locked the doors!!
Bill figured this was as good a place as any to find some more friends becasue it's pretty near the university and uni students are generally good at partying!
You'll find him behind the paperbark with two trunks

I found Bill this morning looking full of bean still (although poor Gneddy looked rather under the weather!!!) I know just the party for him where there'll be plenty of drinking on Tuesday night
Well after the plan to visit the north shore didn't come off, he snuck off with Gneddy but came up against a mesh fence. They decided to sit behind a tree and have a drink to think about their next move.
Curse you Hunter-Finder! Here I was on 2999 finds with a nice hard cache planned for tomorrow for the milestone. And what happens, another gnome 270 metres from the front door. You must have known I couldn't resist. Still I can use Bill to have a celebratory wine with to commemorate the milestone, he looks like he would make a good drinking partner and at least this way Anna got to share the moment with me.
He might head over to the north shore tomorrow with another couple I gnabbed today.

After spending Xmas at our place I came out Christmas morning to find Bill supping on a bottle of Red that I had been saving. A bit upset at this I took Bill for a drive today looking for a lady to keep him company. I had just parked the car when Bill shot out of the door and took off into the nearby bushes. I was a bit sorry to see him go but given how much wine he might drink I was also a bit relieved.
Farewell Bill, our paths may cross again some day.

I scared a baby water dragon when I retrieved Bill. He is now in rehab drying out (a little). He almost lost his log book container but I will fix that problem before setting him loose again.

When I found Graeme, I decided that his secure Centennial Park hangout was just the place for poor old Bill.
So after I extracted Graeme, I put Bill back in his place, under the trees and rock.
The little creek should provide something more healthy for him to drink, when he wakes up!
Good luck, Bill, and Merry Christmas.
Hope the coming year is a better one for you . . .

I wasn't sure what to think when I found this disreputable guy!
His hiding place near TECIS on the Comenarra Parkway seemed to have enough worries attached to it, so I thought I'd move Bill south, to let him continue to sleep off whatever it is he's been drinking.
Since he was unconscious the whole time I had him in the car, I couldn't hear anything about his story and how he ended up like this.
Hmmmmmm.

Man this Gmones a boozer. Needed to get him out of the house and car, so off he wandered near my favorite cache (NOT). He just walked in and pretty much fell over a few meters in. Just past the gate if you look in the long grass and keen eye will spot him.
Thanx Yurt, heard the burping and farting as I drive home, and then a nice little chunder as I picked him up hmmm...more peas on corn So, a cleanup and I'll get him away after he's has a nice chat with Graeme overnight

Moved the drunken sot to where Gnoming Along was. Didn't get him to AA though.
I thought I might get him, I expected Yurt to rest after all his travels!
But no, I failed to get there in time, another 3 hour train trip for nothing so far, now onto the next one.

Used a bit of local knowledge to sneak up on Bill from the Cheltenham side of the M2. He was so hungover he never heard me coming and I put him in a bag quickly so he didn't spew all over me.
Now to take him to the nearest branch of AA!

Bill found life in Canberra a bit ho-hum and wanted to see the big city lights. After hitching a ride to Sydney we were driving along the M2 and opened the window on the car and Bill jumped.
I think he is OK and there is a nice tunnel here that he can sleep in at night.

Wow - come & get this gnome & check out all the debris floating around in the lake! Access via path in front of the Boathouse Restaurant - the path is closed on the hospice side.
Billy will need to beware - continued overindulgence could lead to a wet and sorry ending - although he is high & dry right now.

Finally some gnomes have made it into my possession - if it doesn't rain, it pours (so to speak). I have been watching Billy's drunken antics all over Canberra & will attempt to sober him up before his next outing (although I'm not sure of how much luck I will have with this!). Will move on soon...

A massive haul of gnomes this afternoon, thanks to a kind person leaving them scattered around home. My god this one is ugly!! But thanks for the find All the same!
A southerly journey to help rack up the kilometres. As I had to drop off some pathtags to someone nearby I thought it would be nice to dorp off a gnome or two or seven in the local area.
What a jolly fellow this gnome is. Found him hanging out with 2 other gnomes at Shepherds Lookout overlooking the very swollen Murrumbidgee River. Am moving him to southern suburbs of Canberra today.

Ah. That explains why i couldnt find it at 2pm!! (after much frantic searching, and "..oh crap i've parked illegally, comeon comeon comeon!!") So no gnome (or parking ticket, pewh) for me either!
When I picked up this fellow my wife and I speculated on what is actually was. Then it dawned on me. "A wine bottle holder." I told my wife. "How tacky." she said. True.
So this morning I shoved the drunken mess under a bush where he belongs.
I don't suspect he will last very long in this spot...
