Description
Each Council or community has an emblem embossed on its wheely bins; what does yours look like?
I figure it would be interesting to see the different emblems used through out Australia and maybe find out why each community chose that emblem for its insignia.
To log this cache, please:
1. PRINT the name of the council or community concerned at the start of your log in CAPITAL LETTERS;
2. Give the co-ordinates of that Council or community;
3. Take a photograph of the whole wheely bin and post it with your log; this will show colour and size;
4. Take a close up photograph of the emblem and post with the other photograph.
The reason for that community selecting that emblem would be of interest but not essential to claim a smiley.
Each Council or community emblem can be posted once only, repeats will be deleted. For this reason, post yours quickly so you don't have to go to another community to claim a find on this cache.
If you think this locationless is a "load of rubbish", please ignore it; otherwise have fun putting your rubbish out!

Logs
Logging for the Cacheopoly Game.
Only one has been logged so I am logging the other.
Noticed the 2 different ones on our 3 wheelie bins around the side of the house.
We started off with a red bin,but over the years we now also have a yellow for recycling and green for greenwaste.
Our red bins are emptied weekly, and green and yellow are alternate weeks.
We get 2 extra green bin pickups in September as the BM Council encourages residents to do yard clean up before the hot summer/fire season starts.
Great Cache,
Found this Bin a a major Scouting event at Roonka Water Activities
Thanks for the cache

I saw this bin when passing through Heywood on my way to Millicent. The coordinates are for the council headquarters. There was no emblem other than the name of the shire.
VICTORIA
I was in the area to attend an Event and walking past several of these Melbourne City Council Wheely Bins. The emblem is a segmented M which perhaps indicates the suburbs within the Melbourne Council Area.
Hello OldSaint thank you for the cache.
I found this bin after getting a coffee from my favourite shop I'll let you quess which one.
This council was one of two that I could log that was near by.
Slowley working my down the list of locationless caches. Thank you.

Waiting to board the Spirit of Tasmania I found these Community wheely Bins near to where I was parked.
It must have been rubbish collection day at the time of my visit. The emblem a lighthouse would reflect that there are two lighthouses close together here.
I found this Geelong Council wheely bin in Leopold while driving past. I am unable to ascertain what the symbol means.
I found this wheely bin in Bacchus Marsh which is in the Moorabool Shire. The name comes from the Moorabool River which flows through the shire. Having seen the emblem in colour I am guessing that the lower section which is blue represents the river whilst the upper section with the wavy lines i green and again guessing may represent ploughed paddocks.
I saw these bins outside a property near Smithton. Smithton is a town on the far north-west coast of Tasmania, Australia. It lies on the Bass Highway, 85 km north-west of Burnie. At the 2016 census, Smithton had a population of 3,881. Smithton is the administrative centre of the Circular Head Council. The emblem shows a circular arrow around the Nut which is at Stanley and an off shore island.
I found this wheely bin at Wayatina. The emblem a map of Tasmania with a drawn circular area indicates the locality of the municipality.
I found these wheely bins at a shopping centre in Brighton Tasmania. I do not know what the emblem represents.
Brighton Council is a local government body in Tasmania, situated in the south-east of the state, north of Hobart.
I found this bin at the St Peters Pass Rest Area off the Midlands Highway in Tasmania. I do not know what the emblem represents.
Southern Midlands is a local government body in Tasmania, covering the southern region of the Tasmanian central midlands.
I found these wheely bins while caching in New Norfolk Tasmania. The emblem represents the major industries in the area. The Oast House represents the hops that are grown here, the roll represents the paper produced at the Boyer Paper Mills and the trees the forestry industry.
Derwent Valley Council is a local government body situated in southern-central Tasmania, west of Hobart. Derwent Valley is classified as a rural local government area and has a population of 10,290, it includes the localities of Bushy Park, Maydena and Strathgordon, with New Norfolk the major, principal town.
I found this bin while in Port Sorell looking for other caches. I do not know what the emblem represents.
It must have been collection day as I saw these bins on the side of a country road. I do not know what the emblem represents other than a stylized circle perhaps has a centre.
I was in Westbury photographing St Andrews Church when I saw these Meander valley Council wheely bins. The emblem represents the Great Western Tiers mountains in the municipality.

First time i have examined our bin logo in 18 months living here.
Cheers
Driving through Scottsdale I noticed that it appears that this council has two different styles of bins for rubbish and recycle. Recycle is blue with a yellow lid and rubbish is green with a red lid.
The recycle bin emblem is the outline of the Dirset Municipality with its internal divisions marked. The rubbish bin emblem is a map of Tasmania with the Dorset Municipality shaded in in white. Superimposed is an eagle (not sure if this is a Wedgetail or Sea Eagle) and a kangaroo.
I was driving past to get another cache when I noticed these bins. The emblem is a lighthouse and represents the lighthouse at Low Head the entrance to the Tamar River. 1804 reminds the residents that George Town was the original settlement in Northern Tasmania which occurred during that year.
I found this wheely bin whilst looking for caches in Longford. I do not know the significance of the design of their emblem.
Penrith City Council’s crest combines English and Australian motifs. The fox symbolises a connection with England while the other elements symbolise Penrith’s long history and heritage. Figures on the left and right hand of the shield represent the early occupants of the area, an Aboriginal and a farmer. The bridge on the shield represents the Victoria Bridge, an important transportation link in the area. Branches under the shield depict wattle which flowers profusely in the Penrith district. The sheep, fish and Cornucopia (Symbol of Plenty) symbolise Penrith’s early agricultural days. The wheel of industry depicts the rapid progress of secondary industry in the Penrith district.
Colours used in the Crest include:
Dark Brown –Background of the Council of the City of Penrith
Light Brown –Background of sheep, unstriped parts of banner under fox.
Light Blue –Background to bridge, background to ribbon
Dark Blue –Background to fish
Green –Background to Cornucopia, leaves, some fruit.
Black –Thin borders, bridge, lettering on ribbon, Aborigine’s beard, handles on spear and hoe.

I wheely bin enjoyin' this locationless cache. Thanks OldSaint.
Up in Queensland's dinosaur trail, Richmond has gained acclaim for it's dinosaur fossil discoveries and the wheely bin logo is . . . a ram, a cow and something that looks like a tree surrounded by water, but nothing dinosaurish. This wheely bin was at Kronosaurus Korner. the fossil museum.

We are passing through Kyogle and noticed these bins out with logos on them. At last we can log this cache.
Kyogle really is the gateway to the rainforests - that's why we are here (to enjoy hiking in the nearby NPs and forests).
Thanks for this cache OldSaint.
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.

Camping here at this free camp site [with hot showers] tonight. Lot of difference between their boring old logo and the new one on the newer bins in the row.
Thanks.
this shire takes in St.Arnaud, Stawell, Marnoo and surrounds.
CITY of MARION ... spotted this wheelie Bin while on a very brief visit to SA recently. The City of Marion is a local government area in the southern suburbs of Adelaide. It is one of the states largest metroplitan councils stretching from Glenelg tramline to Glandore to the Coastal suburb of Hallett Cove. The logo is a green and blue triangle containing a single leaf.
Thanks.

A nice aquatic emblem that looks to me like it reflects the proximity to the beach and waves and dolphins and sailing and that kind of thing.
Thanks Old saint.
NBOTB - new bins on the block is the current campaign promoting the new green waste bins ... spotted this while caching down here ...
Thanks Old Saint
This find was easy as the Council has just supplied us with a new bin. The new 120lt size bin has the Camden Council logo on it. We appear to be the only household in the street with a logo on our bin. Maybe they knew I needed to start 2013 with a smiley .
(The Camden Council logo is a visual expression of the Camden area. The Platypus image is a unique and modern symbol representing the serious efforts made by Camden Council towards meeting our goals of becoming an environmentally, culturally, socially and economically sustainable community). Information from Camden Council Website.
It shows a picture of Werribee Mansion, You Yangs And the beach which all symbolise the area.

Found this one while staying at a friends place for a short holiday away from home
Central Coast was created on 2nd April 1993 and covers 932 square kms incorporating Ulverstone, Penguin and Forth. The municipal boundaries are Blythe River to the west, Braddons Lookout Rd to the east and Black Bluff to the south.
I had never noticed that our bins has this logo on them, too busy putting rubbing in them.
ROCKDALE CITY COUNCIL
Two photos posted.
I imagine that the coat of arms is CAPT Phillip and Bennalong? Since Rockdale promotes itself as being on Botany Bay.
TFTC !!
Spotted this wheelie bin while visiting the Pan Pacific Peace Gardens near Redbank recently ...
This logo was on the bin of the house we rented at St Helens Point for the week.
While went to the cache called GC3X3BY - Lying down on the job, when return back to car park and spotted the community Wheely Bins.
There have no emblem - just Name of council so took the pic. Thanks.
Spotted another emblem Community Wheely Bins at North Perth.
While I am at the cache called Anzac park - GC3QHE9.
Thanks.
Our wheely bins say Shire of Swan on them, but it's actually the City of Swan.
Unfortunately there's no emblem on our bins, I checked all over.
While I search the cache called GC3V47J Riverside Park.
There have lovely park - river, playground and bbq etc...
Found this one just outside Adelong Cemetery as I was doing a GC cache nearby. Those resting in peace also have great views from here of the surround hills.
The logo appears to represent the high country and forestry which is a large industry in the area.
This is a pretty uninspiring logo, just a capital R I don't think there was too much reasoning behind why this logo was chosen!
Anyway, as I wheeled my bins in this morning, I took a few quick photos to help complete this Locationless data base
After doing some early morning caching we stopped at Central Gardens at Merrylands Sydney. This lovely park has BBQ’s and all the facilities for a good day out with the geo-kids including a enclosure with Kangaroos and Emus. I spotted the Community Wheely Bins here only after reading about this cache a week ago. Nice find this morning and not to smelly! .
This bin is located adjacent to the community centre in Nanango Qld. The emblem on the bin is the shires Coat of Arms.
The Nanango Shire Council was amalgamated with three adjoing shires four years ago to form the South Burnett Regional Shire Council. What a great pity that was. The new bins being provided by the current council do not have an emblem on them and the bins are going to be replaced with a new style and different bin in the near future. TFTC
Spotted a few of these community bins along the water side near the Brewery Hotel in Newcastle.
Thanks for the locationless....
BLUE MOUNTAINS CITY COUNCIL
Council office is in Katoomba, NSW.
The think the idea behind the gum leaf logo is that the eucalyptus leaf oil and resulting vapour is what makes the Blue Mountains blue . . .

Our local Council in Kingston, Tasmania
Thanks for the cache OldSaint
Canberra is special and doesnt have councils/shires/etc. Therefore, i assume this is what you are talking about?
I am very sure the logo is outdated. On my recycling bin (not pictured), you can barely see the logo at all!
The Tasman Bridge, Mt Wellington & yachts on the river Derwent
A municipality in the north western suburbs of the Perth metropolitan area
We're too upmarket it seems.
I see this emblem every day but I must admit that I've not thought about it much. My guess is that it's a Welcome Swallow.

This is our first locationless cache. Was looking at a profile for a cacher who found one of our hides & saw locationless so we had to check it out.
At the top of the list was a favourite cacher of my geokid, OldSaint.
So we had to run right out & shoot our bin (being an archery family).
So here are photos of our 2 bins, the old one with the old council logo & the newer snazzy one with the new (snazzy?) logo & yellow lid.
Photos of you bin, what an odd thing to do, so TFTC OldSaint, this one made us chuckle.
We were holiday in Brisbane when we saw this locationless published. So the photo added to the Gallery contains a full lenth wheely bin and the logo on the bin of the Brisbane City Council. The coordinates are of the Brisbane City Hall, the building depicted in the logo. TFTC Old Saint. PS We will claim the FTF on this cache.
Cheers OldSaint.
