A fresh map for a fresh year…
Missing caches has been a topic of conversation recently. To rectify this, I manually checked every cache listing within 70km from home – for caches that needed “Needs Maintenance” or “Needs Archive” logs. I found that there are quite a few caches that needed attention from their respective owners or the local community volunteer reviewers. Now one month on, I’ve gone back through my bookmarked list to check on the status of the said caches.
Unfortunately posting a Needs Archived log due to lack of maintenance.
There has been a string of DNF’s since April 2017.
A Needs Maintenance Log was posted on 2nd December.

Did not find but found plastic treasure chest with sodden paper on inside but thought surely not this looks more like a swag escapee
This was the second last stop of the day and the kids were getting pretty tired and impatient at this point. Looked at the photos but it seems the cache isn't were it used to be (or we were looking in the wrong place!).
Either way - didn't find it. Might try this one again on my own at a later date.

This could be very tricky, lucky I had a read though the logs on my walk to GZ,
I could here muggles approaching so was in and out in a flash,
Nice gardens and paths.

Did Not Find It . -- 2:30 PM -- Lovely location. Who said this was an easy find? Uh Uh nope, spent some time here looking and produced fat sweet zero.
i was standing with lucky cricket, trying not to laugh as a muggle and her child came over and decided to look around while 007 mushu was trying to stay out of sight, TFTC
Finally found after receiving a helpful hint from Dragons2010 (thankyou). 007Mushu went for the find and as it is a busy muggle area early in the morning with muggles walking their dogs, Little Cricket and myself stayed back and kept watch to warn of on coming muggles. This ended up being quite funny because a muggle stopped by with her baby muggle to see what I was doing so I had to pretend I was looking at a lizard that was on a nearby plant to divert her attention away from 007 Mushu crouching in a hidden position so he couldn't be seen at GZ. Found the cache, signed the log and I gave the all clear when it was clear. Thankyou for the cache x ed, it made for a great story.
Found with Lucky Cricket and Little Cricket. This is the third time out to this one and finely found it. I went in for the search while Lucky Cricket and Little Cricket kept a lookout, I stayed hidden in a precarious position while muggles stopped to look at the plants near my hiding spot. Once all clear, log signed and put back in Position. TFTC
TFTC #254. Have come to the gardens to meet with friends during school holidays. Glad to have arrived early and have time for a quick look. After reading past logs realised we'd need to venture off the path. Drizzling rain but thankfully the creek was dry. Geo-son announced "ladies first" and once I cleared the many webs, they were happy to join me for a quick find.
Found myself in Picton today as this beaut Park is the halfway point for our family picnic Day. After a relaxed sausage sizzle lunch Opa-shrek and I wondered off from the group with the youngest geokid in tow, skipping along with us singing about finding all the treasure. Once at GZ we poked about for a while before I decides to switch tacks a little. And dodging the troll found the cache in plain sight. Signed the attendance roll, which seemed somewhat like it could have been an older cache, with no finders signing on the dotted line since 2015 despite logs saying differently.
Thanks for the find to mark this visit to Picton with a smiley on my map.

In Picton today for a family get together and picnic ... and with this cache just 94 m from where we had gathered in the botanic gardens, it was hard to resist going for a bit of a wander after lunch to grab the smiley that was on offer here. Luckily, Mumma-Kel took the time to read some of the past logs, and she was therefore able to make a straightforward find about 10m from where my GPS was telling me to look, and I was looking. It's possible that there are may be 2 containers hidden here since I couldn't see any 2016 finds on the log we added our name to. TFTC x ed.
Easier to find than I thought, came prepared with a torch just in case, not needed though looked on wrong side, then turned around, there it was,log looks to be full, tftc
Took a while to find. Had literally given up in a bent over position when I turned around and placed my hand on it.
Can owner please confirm that cache is still there as the bridge looks like it has recently been rebuilt
Monkey See. Monkey Do. I'm glad my skills helped me here today. Happy Easter to everyone ??
While Mr Slowfox was competing in the SHOO evening series, Mrs Slowfox (on Geotot duties) tried to find this and came upon an enormous deadly snake; she is prone to exaggeration!
After a magnificent run in the orienteering event, Mr Slowfox braved the nest of serpents and duly found the cache! A tad spidery but a good hide in a very nice park.

Lovely park and botanic gardens, especially when alot of Picton is dry and barren. TFTC.
Really nicely up-kept gardens with a shorter walk to GZ than the map indicated and, which made me almost bypass this cache today, with the weather heating up. Even after years of caching, I still automatically expect a nano when I see “micro” but re-considering the D/T rating and a few previous logs, I quickly had a bigger cache in hand while StumbleTrip kept a lookout to let me know when the coast was clear to return to the path.
Visited the area today with geokid. GPS went a bit funny but eventually it averaged out to the cache location. Reading the previous logs I soon realised where the cache was located! Lucky I had the geokid so sent her to attend to trolling activities and all too soon came the cry of "FOUND IT". So with CIH she returned, log signed and cache replaced. Gorgeous area and we didn't encounter too many muggles either!

Decided that a little mini road trip was in order to celebrate the 6 Geocaching Road Trip souveners
earned in the last few months, 3:30am start rumbled down the The Thin Black Line doing the Tradie shuffle. Head south towards Camden, The Oaks, Tarmoor and Picton. TFTC
Thanks for the great cache and adventure x ed

Had to go for a crawl in order to spot it. Reminded me of the old days when I was a caving instructor.
A real team effort here, but in the end it took one tall man in a small space to make the find.
Continuing a day geocaching with geobuddies. A lovely Sunday arvo for a stroll in the gardens to get this cache. Raindoctor had to troll this one... TFTC
What a nice garden, have to put it on the "list of places to revisit when not geocaching". Much too spidery and cobwebby for the likes of misspalot, so props to raindoctor and rassilon for persevering while llama_boy and I tried to look inconspicuous.
I channelled geodad here to find the cache - much easier to spot the cache from the correct angle! Totally coming back here with my bike - never knew this place existed and it really is a beautiful spot!
Lots of muggles, had to hide out for a while whilst a group took in the scenery. Beautiful walkway that I didn't know existed. Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC.
Thanks for the cache!
Found it in good condition and signed log.
It doesn't take long for the spiders to own this one.
Regards
Pete and Kim

On our trip trough Australia with the hole family we looked also for some caches. They often showed us places we would never had discovered. Thanks a lot to the all the people who care about this lovely hobby .
Unfortunately the koords show me the wrong side but from "down under" it gaves me quick found .
A nice place to stay (on the green, not by the cache ).

Looked but way too many spiders. They were everywhere.
Way too many places to hide a mini magnetic too. the spiders may have covered it.
Ironbark.

That was a good cache!! Nearby we found $3.00 & a pen, and after a bit of slog we had cih. Nice gardens too , tftc xo
Run of DNFs today. Spent some time searching while the coast was clear but couldn't locate the cache. There is a nice St Andrew's cross spider right where GPS said 1m though!
Neat.
Spiders must re-web pretty fast.
Webs everywhere, a little bit of a pain.
Spoiler Photo was perfect

Came to Picton for a day of caching and ended up in the Botanical Gardens to eat lunch, turns out we stumbled on the NAIDOC week celebrations - so geokids managed to get a free face paint and a cache! Plenty of people around but the geokids and I played hide n sneak trying to not look suspicious whilst accessing and replacing the cache... We did however attract the attention of another child who ducked down below to join us, who then got the attention of his parents. Cache was already replaced by then but he told his parents a ball had gone down the hill which resulted in a mini search starting whilst we quickly retreated back into the festivities... TFTC
Nice Garden park - enjoyed walk along to the cache and bit out of the coordinate but spotted so signed the log. thanks. ★☆★☆★
Wow! Timing was everything today since there was some Australia Day function nearby. I signed one of the pieces of paper. Nice gardens. TFTC
Lots of little scraps of paper inside. I would have put in a new log while I was there but I left them in the car and we had a lovely walk from the oval to the gardens.
TFTC... A lovely walk. Cache needs new log.

Found it!!! Needs a new log. Signed it on the back of the geocaching info with RROB2000 tftc!!
Out with Team Legends Kids cache hunting today. We loved the photos and the finding of this one!! TFTC!
Nice hide. The coords are a bit out but if you have a look around where troll's live you will find it. TFTC
Logbooks need replacing, hardly any room left! Was hard today with all the Sunday families around had to be sneaky, great little cache , Thanks.
It was indeed an obvious hide. Ignore the gps! It and clues i thought i figured out from logs kept leading me astray.
Search cut short by photographers who came to use bridge for photos. Will check another time!
