Nice little walk, a bit off the path in river bed - check for spiders webs! Thank you
Easy to find after an awkward scramble. Great place to visit. Thanks for the cache!
Found on a bush walk from Fisherman's Beach to Leek's Beach via Clam Beach.A solid 13km hike though varying terrain with lots of wildlife popping up along the way, goats, peacocks, echidnas,to name but a few. Signed the log and now a quick dash back to the Resort for Happy Hour...beers only $6 until 5om. Cheers and TFTC.
Out at Keppel on our boat. Saw the cache needed a little maintenance so brought a new container and log. It's all set to go for the next cachers to find.
Found it but no cache attached. Needs maintenance. Beautiful location. Here yo celebrate a 50th birthday.
Tftc! Great spot, don't come without shoes. Log needs replacing, this is just a cap on a hole.
Not sure if I officially found it. It def looks like the lid as if it had been removed. If wrong I'll hand to amend my log.
This cache is one of the oldest Ive found-2007! Wow! At GZ, we found the lid of the container (pic attached) but no logbook or the rest of the container. We replaced it as found then trekked back. Fav point for a cache thats been around for 17 years! TFTC!
Lovely discovery at Great Keppel Island with fellow deaf and Auslan geocachers: CodaWives, Crank1, Deafcaf, DeafSanta, DutchAus, Lance51 and Silence47.With TBs Canadian Flag, Dosenjger and G.N.I.A Travel Tag in tow. Retrieved this TB Swiss Duck from Stranded in Keppel. The threesome debated whom to be dropped off.The French TB - G.N.I.A Travel Tag - is now stranded for however long in central Queensland coastline. Dropped off by SurdiVisio.
Sat on the Branch next to the cache for at least five minutes trying to figure out where it was before I looked next to me, almost fell off out of shock. Lovely walk.
Jack and I went to find this one whilst the rest of the family chilled out on the beach before our boat back to the mainland arrived. This was a nice quick find, although not easy to get to when only wearing flip-flops.Also spotted my first Echidna which was just amazing.---Over a week ago we made a trip up to Yeppoon to visit family and some of the big things dotted around the state. On the way we stopped off at Noosa Heads (big pelican) and Maryborough before staying in Hervey Bay (big whales) for a couple of days to break up the journey. Whilst in Hervey Bay we went out on a glass bottomed boat and explored Big Woody Island and Round Island. Onwards again and we visited Childers, Gin Gin and got stuck in a crazy tailback a few kilometers from Miriam Vale (big crab, big donut and big Magpie). It would have been rude not to pick up a cache or two on our journey North. We visited Great Keppel and did some snorkeling (and Jack spotted a large sting ray), Emu Park to view the Singing Ship, Rockhampton (big bulls) to visit the zoo (which I wasn't too keen on) and just about every restaurant and coffee shop in Yeppoon. It's a lovely part of the world. On the way back home (boo) we visited the caves at Cania Gorge and stayed overnight at the retreat and then on to the Three Moons Silo Mural, Gayndah (big orange) and then onto the Bruce and straight back home.Thanks!!#3504
Dora the Explorer! and I came to Great Keppel Island for a day trip with a view to finding all the caches on the island. This was our second cache. It was a quick and easy find once at GZ. All is good although log book is damp, we were still able to sign the log. TFTC.
After an exciting island trek, stumbled upon this weathered geocache off a track near the beach. It's amazing how time has left its mark here. Left a message in a bottle. Memories made by the shore!"

Day 7 of the CQ reflection Tour for ruzzelz. This has now morphed as a week long holiday in Yeppoon, with T4mmmy, Just-a-Trifle, Fangsoki, Crew 153, 1MinnieMoo and Prime - we are the YEP23 mob.
Great stroll along the beach to this location.
Great stroll along the beach to this location.
With the YEP23 mob and we had allocated a day to come over to the island to find this cache and relax.
We walked along the beach just after high tide and then found the track up to the cache. It was good to tick another old cache off our list.

A week long holiday in Yeppoon, with T4mmmy, Just-a-Trifle, Fangsoki, Crew 153, 1MinnieMoo and Ruzzelz - we are the YEP23 mob. A day at sea - on an island ... yep yep yep count me in for sure. Arrived on an early boat, and we headed basically straight out here. A lovely walk along the beach, a play on the swing, paddling in the lapping waves, through the shallow channel, up the little track and across to GZ and a quick find. Lovely lovely lovely. Spent some time enjoying the cool morning air, exploring the headland hear before wandering back and more adventures. FP for the great cache, amazing location and the company today.
Thanks dandent for entertaining me at this location.

This island is a beautiful place We were here for one day only, but we could see rays and turtles while snorkeling
Together with my favorite geocacher Milonguera we traveled to Australia We went to Melbourne via Singapore and from there we explored the south, the center and the east coast.
We walked around Melbourne and had a nice meet & greet event. Than we visited Philip Island with the pinguins and the Great Ocean Road. We fed and petted kangaroos visited the koalas and continued north via Coober Pedy to Alice Springs. We hiked around the impressive Uluru and through the beautiful Kata Tjuta and breathtaking Kings Canyon. The gorges of the Macdonell-Ranges are nice too. We traveled north and than east to Townsville and Magnetic Island. From Airlie Beach we rafted to the Whitsunday Islands for snorkeling and swimming at Whitehaven Beach and took a seaplane to the Great Barrier Reef.
On the way south we visited the capricorn coast.
**Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for showing the location and for hiding the cache. You should come to Berlin in Germany to find a lot of interesting geocaches, visit lost places in the surrounding Brandenburg and meet nice people at many events.
I wish you a lot of fun and great adventures while searching for the next geocache!**
Ich bedanke mich bei dandent für den Cache, das Zeigen dieses Ortes, das Legen und Pflegen der Dose und den Spaß beim Finden! Thanks for the cache!

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to dandent for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

What a nice walk to Lecce Beach. Had a snorkel, caught some sun and found a cache.
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!
dandent, I found "Stranded on Keppel" today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Lazy day on the island getting away from the Melbourne winter. Nice walk to find
Our first day on the island, we caught the morning ferry across and couldn't check in to our room until 2, so decided to do a walk on this beautiful sunny day. We did the roughly 5km Leeke's Beach circuit, starting off behind the old resort site, up to 1st Lookout. It was a steep rough rutted out old road up which was pretty tough for our first part of the walk. Great views from the top between the trees. Then down the range to Leeke's Beach, where we came out about halfway along and walked west on this very nearly deserted beach. There were a few boats anchored in the bay but hardly another walker. We took our time ambling along, admiring the views, then took the dune track with the rope assistance into the bush and followed the nice trail across to Putney Beach. Near here was where we deviated from the trail and soon found the cache, nicely hidden. And also where we first came across other people. I don't think they were too worried as to why we were following the gully back to the beach instead of the trail. They may not have even noticed us. We finished our walk at the bistro with a cool drink and lunch and soon after got our room.
What a great start to our island holiday! We're excited to be stranded here for another few days....

All hollowed out. Logbook damp but managed to write in it. Thanks for putting a cache here.
Easy find.
Out for a morning walk while staying on GKI.
Such a great place to stay.
Snorkelling swimming and just having time out
Thanks.

Nice place to have your 50th birthday. Found while on island to celebrate Lisas 5oth.
Easy find after some gully bashing. Kept an eye out for the echidna that a previous cacher mentioned but no luck. Thanks for giving me something else to do other than snorkel, swim, bushwalk, explore, relax, soak in the sun and have a cocktail on this splendid island.
Easy find, fun cache! Dinoshnaffy’s first ever geocache!!! Something different to do on Great Keppel when the weather and water conditions were not so great!!! Saw a baby echidna on the way back!
Found it with Reeceee15 and fireyred0602 in the tree trunk on the other side of the dry river bed
Tftc, nice quick find. Had to row in to get it as our tender outboard was broken but it was a nice row. found within getting to the location in a couple of seconds. Found along side Reeceee15 and Haydos09.
Reecee15 and Haydos09 have taken Mara the travel bug. It will soon be dropped of at another island around the area or in and around Beerwah.

After finding Gus' playground, I couldn't leave the island without finding this one too. For what seemed like forever, we walked along the track, beach, rocks and cliff until we finally made it back to the beach closest to GZ. A short search later and the cache was found.
Dropped off three trackables, one finally reaching its goal of visiting the Great Barrier Reef, and two others which I have had for too long. Many thanks for placing this cache CO!

Fangsoki and I decided to get ourselves Stranded for a day on Great Keppel Island today and grab this lovely old cache. We caught the early boat over and gave ourselves plenty of time to spend on the island.
Once we had disembarked our boat, we began the walk to this cache right away. It was already getting rather warm in the sun out here and this was our one and only priority. We were glad when we made it to the little track here out of the beating sun, and soon made our way to the very likely cache location, where we made an instant find, removing it once my feet had cleared away enough cobwebs first.
And an original logbook still in play here too. It might be damp but it’s still good to go!
And with that done, we were good to go and explore a little more of this glorious island too, with its crystal clear waters.
Seriously no one could complain about getting Stranded in a place like this surely!
Thanks for the cache dandent.

Every one hundred finds, I like the mini-milestone to be something memorable. I decided it should be this cache.
1MinnieMoo and I purchased ferry tickets to head over to grab this one. If I have been to Great Keppel Island before, it would have been in 1984 with family when I lived in Rockhampton for a while.
1MinnieMoo and I disembarked from the ferry and started walking toward this target cache. We stayed off the beach until the last 400m or so before ventured down to the blinding sands.
We arrived at the start of the walk up and made our way toward GZ. We guessed where GZ and we soon arrived there to find.. the cache!
Another great old cache found! This cache is currently the 509th oldest cache in Queensland (a place shared with 3 other caches). We spent the rest of the day walking to one of the reef areas and then having some lunch before heading back.
A fantastic cache. I may not have come to Keppel if it was not for this cache. I am glad we made the effort. TFTC dandent

A great day spent hiking around the island.. After the monkey beach/long beach circuit I had just enough energy to trapse over this last beach! Though the GPS kept bouncing around a lot in the gully. Tnln Tftc!
We needed a cache for our found date calendar today and with this being the only one on Great Keppel Island since we don't have access to a boat to get to Humpy Island), we'd managed to leave this unfound all week. Oh, the suffering! An entire week without caches [:o]. Oh well, the snorkeling certainly made up for it
