Thoroughly enjoyed the evening view. Had to duck in and out to avoid detection by the high speed muggles - got there eventually! TFTC
#2582.
#24 in NZ.
We stopped to take in the magnificent view and decided to make a quick snack at this spot. Thanks for bringing us here!
Now we are on our way to Piha and then sleeping over at Muriwai. TFTC!

A big thank you to all the geocache owners for being our “tour guides” in New Zealand while we are on our short holiday visit to this extraordinarily beautiful country! We traveled the North Island in our little camper van and we came across minimal damaged caches and we only had very few DNF’s.
"Groete" all the way from South Africa!

Stopped to get this cache on my way out to the west coast. Was just about to give up on the search when I spied the cache tucked away. The log was slightly damp as the plastic bag has disintegrated. Lots of traffic on Scenic drive; I think I startled a walker when I popped out of the bush.
Not the most pleasant of locations as the hiding place had evidently been used as a toilet. Removed golf ball as it was stuck in mouth of container. Thanks for hiding it. CBE
Found it eventually, after 3 trips to the site, last time I looked all around GZ but couldn't see for looking, glad I finally found it with the help of Titirangi hunters, who doesn't give up as quickly as me!
Found you went a bit to off the side of the rd first found lots of junk an old dial phone a credit card computer screen hanging from a tree felt a bit yuck after being in this bush area.
More awesome views having a great day today cache hunting with all these fantastic views, the caches are just a bonus.
Found it a couple of weeks back with the Scenic Searchers and forgot to log. Quick find once we worked out where we were supposed be searching (no GPS) TFTC.
It was definitely a nice view from here. A good chance to stop and take in the view before driving further on.
I've driven and cycled past this cache probably a million times, so it's about time I stopped to find it. Great views this afternoon. Cheers for the cache.
Left a few toys kids took a couple. Hard to find without others seeing us from the road!
Quick find on our way out to the caches at the Upper Nihotupu Dam and hoping to dodge the rain showers. TFTC
#3 great view of 4 I saw while heading home after some caching in the Waitakeres. Waited out some muggles before making my search and quickly located after.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Detouring from a ride back to our hotel from Lion Rock we grabbed this cache. A nice view for sure, but I don’t know that it can top the views overlooking Piha Beach! Unbelievable roads, views, beaches, waves!!! Wow the waves!! Thanks for the smiley.
A nice quick and straightforward find to end my afternoon of caching and a lovely view.

Found this one before visiting the Arotaki Centre.
Nice views from here, but the ones from the ranger's site are even a bit better. Thanks anyway!

I was fortunate to find this vantage point unoccupied on Wednesday evening. Another really nice view, and I got to watch the fog roll inland in the light of the full moon. Definitely a cool sight. TFTC!
Couldn't search for this one as several of these scenic outlook spots seemed to be taken by cars with steamy windows...LOL! I had a good chuckle at least...
Unfortunately there was no view today - possibly due to the heavy rain, and low cloud! Almost drove past this but since I was already wet, I figured whats one more to the total. Wasn't too far to go and cache was soon in hand. Hopefully can come past here again soon when the weather isn't so bad, and can enjoy the view a bit more! TFTC
A little bit harder to spot than great view 1, but still easy enough to find. And again a real nice view. Tftc!!
On my way to son's camp at Piha. Quick find, helped by spotting previous cacher's tracks. TFTC
First trial of the GPS on the wife's new phone. Once it stopped trying to send us into the middle of scenic drive all went well and we spotted a little track made by previous GCers to the GZ. TFTC
Got this one on the way back from the AMJC cache nearby. Made a quick stop, and noticed there was some muggles nearby.
GPS was pointing in the other direction, so I went to have a shot.
The lady looked at me, and then turned away, and near the cache I was just out of sight. I then quickly made the find, signed the log, and all the usual.
As I was returning to the car, by the look she gave me, I think she thought I had been in the bushes to relieve myself... Hahahaha! Well... at least she won't be climbing into those bushes... and it's not like I'll ever see her again!! Lol.

Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
Had family visiting from Wellington so decided to quickly introduce them to both the Waitakeres and Geocaching. Only had time to look for a few caches, before taking them to the airport.
Stopped for lunch at this lookout, before locating the cache.
TFTC.
Roger the Rabbit TB out.

Another quick drive-by with Team ProPax. Wonderful views, thanks for bringing us here. TFTC! =)
Was unable to attemp this cache last time I was out here (see note 1/1/2010). This time as we head to Arataki there was a vehicle here, but thankfully no one in sight when we came back. Quick find - Dad found it, left TBs. TFTC
Another quick find on the wet Sunday. Nice views from here, I could imagine how nice it would on a fine day though.

In the area so decided to grab this one on a wet Sunday summers day. Thanks for this one...not much of a view today.
Teamed up with stretch.kerr and avoyager and this was our third find for the day. Another nice quick drive by on our way to Goldies. Enjoyed the view while signing the log. TFTC!
This cache needs some tlc ~ the logbook is missing except one page, which is moist. I think theres also a crack in the container.
Found away from hint location. Log book stripped of any pages apart from one small log page portion that remains. Damp inside container. Repositioned/wedged out of sight according to hint location. TFTC.
Really wanted to find this one but I see now that Grandad8 found it's contents spilled everywhere just a few days ago. There also seemed to be a lot of alcohol bottles around so maybe the locals have had parties in the bushes.
We stayed at Piha for 4 days and caught up with
some of the caches in the area. This cache has been
tipped out onto the ground I gathered up the contents and put it back, the cover
on the log book is there but no book the container is OK I have hidden it in its original place

Easy find on a caching 'drive'
Used to run past here in my marathon training days - when traffic was a little lighter!

Estimated date, old find still on the GPS. Enjoy the scenery of the Waitakeres.
Another drive by waiting for us to collect on our day out in the Waitakeres. TFTC
My second go at this one as last time we were here there was a couple of cars and a few people right at GZ. Fairly quick find.
Out for a scenic twilight drive in the Waitaks this evening and to grab some quick caches as I go. Wow, this view is even better than the first Great View 1 cache. Both harbours, a Dam and plenty of bush. Took a bit longer to find this cache. Though you don't have to penertrate far into the bush to get the cache, I found it a little awkward. Cheers for bringing me here and making me stop to take in the view!
after some minutes of looking around - firstly, to enjoy the great views in all directions and secondly, to spot the cache box, we also retrieved this one. thx for showing the place to us.

Nice quick find with NZSKyliner and parents after a nosy around the info centre. TFTC.
Found with jillopy & return2nai & NZ Skyliner as the kids introduce us to this new sport!
Went with Poshepocket. After muggles left we tried but could not find any container (only a myriad of beer bottles). Such a large area to look in, especially for us noobs. TFTC though. The view itself was worth the walk anyway. ^_____^
Went with FrankNom. Muggles smoking some sort of drug... then they cleared off. Lots of beer bottles and such. Many, many, many trees. Did not find.
More great views, but a travelling muggle van was parked almost on GZ, another day...
Quick find and checked the view as well..very clear today, and tide in as a bonus!

#468 Further along our Sunday Drive. Mist starting to lift, so got see the view at this one. SL. TFTC.
Beautiful views... nearly got muggled by other sightseers! But soon had cache in hand. TFTC.
