A quick 5 day trip to Darwin included finding this cache. This is my first trip to the northern territory and is my final state / territory in Australia to visit. The weather was certainly different to Tasmania. It is great to explore another part of Australia. Thank you for hiding and maintaining this cache. Found on 8 October 2024Thanks for the cache

This is absolutely great hunt! New container and log. But definitely should have changed my shoes! (Was a sporadic find as the kids and family were having a gas in the pools and playground). Thought I'd go for a baby hunt and ended up right in the scrub. TFTC, really great effort.

In Darwin with iluvtrekking after travelling from Perth. This is a revisit after eleven years and we have noticed so many great changes. No problem locating this cache. However contents were sodden and musty. Left a sistema with new log book at gz. Thanks for the hide.

Travelling with richlink on a trip from Perth to Darwin and return down the centre. Today, we are enjoying the sights of greater Darwin and a variety of caches along the way. Thanks NTSTROM.

Another oldie this time from 2007 so i was very happy to find this one.

This trip was sort of in place of a trip to a Mega that got canceled due to accommodation problems, I was quite happy when Goose said do you fancy to caching break in the Northern Territory as this would be the last State or Territory for me in Australia.

Our plan was to fly into Darwin on the Friday night have a couple days in the area then start heading South stopping overnight whenever we needed to, our next goal was the drive to the geographic centre of Australia at Lambert Centre and then head back to Alice to fly home ten days later.

We both had a great trip finding some important old caches, large ones and the odd clever one too, we found Ammo Cans all over the place which was nice as i think we have found most of the ones at home in Tassie.

Thanks for the cache.

Found on 01/07/2023 at 13:57:00 thanks to NTSTROM for placing this cache for me to find.

Our last cache in this area. We searched for a 'path' without much luck before taking the plunge and heading into the bush. Nice container but it was in a sorry state. We dried it out as best we could but it certainly needs a bit of TLC
(logging late and I nice to see that other teams were able to assist with a new/clean container.
Thanks NTSTROM

Our Northern Territory journey began in Darwin around 3am after a very delayed flight. We drove as far north as Fresh Water Camp (northeast of Darwin), followed by a loop to Liberated Cox (out to the west) and Litchfield National Park returning to Darwin. We then headed south with overnight stops at Katherine, Daly Waters and Devils Marbles before reaching our southernmost accommodation at Erldunda. From here we did a day trip to Lamberts Gravitational Centre on onward past Finke. Our last couple of days were in Alice Springs with a side trip via Hermannsburg and Glen Helen, all up covering just under 3800km. My thanks to all the COs with hides throughout the territory for helping make our trip so enjoyable.

Came close to 1m on the map, literally checking under the soles of my feet to make sure I wasn’t standing on it. Can’t see any volcanic rocks but plenty of “coffee bean” Laterite or Bauxite rocks, sun was setting I needed another hour but mozzies told me otherwise

Found this one super quickly on our visit to Howard Springs. I didn’t actually know there were literally springs here, I only knew it of COViD quarantine fame! Also, there’s a Prison down here too. TFTC
Unfortunately too wet to sign. Whole contents are soggy and melted. Outer container looks ok. Was an interesting trek in here.

After a second try a few years later, this hidden treasure could be converted into a smilie.
Thanks for hiding.

28-Nov-21
TFTC quite the walk. Glad I went in with a friend. Kept car in sight too, for that walk back out.

24-Sep-21
After fun at the springs we attempted this one. I have to say the bush was horrible, unforgiving, sharp, prickly with vines wrapping around us every step and extremely unpleasant to negotiate today. But we found it, signed the log, enjoyed the container and took the GC. Atttacked by stinging jumping green ants at a tree by the cache so it was quite awful. Probably isn't like that all the time. I spent the night soothing my scratches and bites. TFTC

25-Jun-21
Found with Go Grandys sorry for the late Log TFTC

25-Jun-21
found with Babe and Bongo. TFTC

21-May-21
What an odd and interesting cache container! Hadn't seen one like this before. I love old caches like this that still have original or old logs. It's quite interesting to go back reading the old entries in a tranquil bushland setting. Also very happy I applied a liberal coating of bug repellant before attempting! TFTC, dropped in a TB.

15-Jan-21
With a bit of bush bashing and going around in circles we finally found it. TFTC!

10-Jan-21

This was a small bush bash and I managed to get it quite easy.
Choose your path and don’t hit it directly as it will be challenging for futures hunters.

Now that the dry season is here, the weather was much more conducive to a wander through the bush. Passed the spring on the way, amazing how it just bubbles up out the ground. Easily spotted after a bit of ducking amd weaving. Dropped a TB. T4TC!!!

After our Parisian trip in the first week of the Easter holidays, we (i and my husband Voske1967) went for 3 weeks to the other side of the world to enjoy the friendly atmosphere, food, landscapes and culture of Australia. Of course, geocaches were also searched for and found in Perth, Monkey Mia, Denham, Newman, Port Hedland, Darwin, ... . This trip downunder will stay with us for a long time! It was pretty hot in Australia for the autumn season

Detour around Australia - family of 6 travelling in a camper trailer for 6 months!!
Due to the lack of reception in the outback regions of Australia, we got seriously behind in logging caches. But a new year's resolution is good enough for me to get the trip of lifetime logged! Thankfully I did diligently write in my diary to record each days events!!

This was a special day for us, as I was able to catch up with one of my old uni friends for the first time in probably a decade! Super special!!! We had a lovely bbq lunch and strolled around exploring the area!

Howard Springs is certainly an interesting little spot, we even did a night wildlife walk with one of the rangers a few nights later, but unfortunately didn't spot too much wildlife. we did however see the file snakes in the water - eeek - yuck! And yes, we saw the springs from where the water flowed - very cool! I can see why the troops set up this place - and evry interesting to see the photos of the troops swimming with one guy and a gun on croc watch!!

Thanks for the cache!

After finding a nearby cache Kym's Adventure and I moved onto this one! the rain had stopped and we had a chance to dry off Razz We navigated through the scrub to the GZ and looking at the hint gave us some idea of where it was going to be but the GPS was pointing to three different bunch of rocks! a quick inspection of all of them we soon came up with the cache!! On the way home from some other interesting caches in Gunn Point, this little reserve made an interesting stop for the kids to play and feed the fish and turtles. Recent additions made this park very family friendly. However, the cache itself was a 'long way' (a very relative assessment, i know) from the beaten track for those little legs... Thanks again NTSTROM.

TFTC NTSTROM. I haven't been to the park since 1997, what a difference!
