Wow I never knew this was here!!What a claim to fame for Marulan, absolutely brilliant stuff that. I'll never look at the 150th meridian the same way again. And an absolutely superb sculpture I must say.So glad Baristayan and I stopped here on our slightly convoluted way home from the Southern Highlands to Mittagong via Towrang. This gets a fav point for sure...thanks!
Wow! What a great fact about Marulan! We stopped because of all the favourites and it didnt disappoint So its a favourite to me too Thanks!
Found easily....so wet and snaily....the sculpture is very cool. With Bockincool
I found the cache as shown in the photo but the log is soaking wet and Im unable to write on it.
Im on the way up from Canberra to Sydney to meet my sister and brother-in-law to see a show and then stay with them in the Central Coast for the weekend, and this seemed like a good place to stop to find a geocache. The sculpture is closed off at the moment but it was still nice to see. The log is soaked and slimy, and, as the pen I had with me will transfer ink without pressure, I scribbled a quick SR689 and my signature smiley face before heading back on my way to escape the wind on this beautiful, sunny, albeit incredibly gusty day. Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for bringing us to this interesting sculpture. The cache was a quick find but we couldn't sign as it was very wet. TFTC
Thankyou for the cache, nice easy found. May need maintenance as the paper was wet.
I found it and the container was completely full of water (I tipped it out), and the log book was falling apart and wet.
Thanks for bringing me to this cool little park. Cache is in great condition. Tftc
Gotcha! TFTC Found it with the Geohusband @Nosmada and the Geonephew Braxton
My family and I headed down from Brisbane to Canberra to spend the Easter break visiting relatives living here. The lure of a Mega event in town at the same time was just a coincidence, honestly ??.After an enjoyable stay, sadly today was the day I had to commence the long drive home. For the last two days the news has been reporting an impending severe weather event with rain predicted of biblical proportions. I left Canberra this morning in spitting rain, but it soon stopped and under overcast skies I continued caching my way up to Goulburn, making the most of the relatively good weather.Upon arrival in Goulburn the weather took a turn for the worst with rain beginning to fall again. Eventually it became too heavy to cache in comfortably so I jumped back in the car for the drive towards Sydney.I needed a quick stop to stretch the legs and chose to head for this cache. Pretty soggy around GZ with the forecast extreme wet weather now well and truly settled in. Cache was found and replaced without getting drowned but it was a mad dash back to the car to dry off. TFTC
What an amazing location. Thank you for placing the cache here that brought this to our attention. Its incredible to think that this is the only town in the world on this 150 meridian. Fascinating. Apparently the concrete part of the sculpture has concrete cancer. However, the globe is absolutely beautiful with all the lovely shiny coloured mosaics. Cache was found as per the hint and we had the place to ourselves due to the on and off rain. Thanks for showing us this place that taught us and interested us. Fascinating information is worthy of a favourite point!Cheers and happy caching!
Canberra Geobash Road Trip 2024. Day Three: Goulburn and a couple of new LGAs.Pretty cool spot to highlight by placing a cache here. Hard to believe that it's the ONLY town on this parallel, plus exactly half way through EST. Managed to grab a screenshot of the exact parallel too. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, SWAGgers ~~
Day #3 Geobashing After arriving in Canberra yesterday and checking in at Canberra Park, today OzHockeyChick and I left Canberra again to head out east and grab some LGAs, challenges, favourites and other selected caches. An interesting location here and glad we had the cache page to explain what we were looking at. The area nearby is all fenced off but the cache is safe and accessible.A big thanks goes to SWAGgers for taking the time to add Marulan150 to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Why not check out the geocaching lists available on the [Geocaching Victoria Website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/). There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.
This sculpture sounded interesting... we walked from the back of the pub free camp to see it. No obvious signs why it was barracaded off but no doubt there was a reason. A quick find of the cache with the good hint. TFTC SWAGgers.
A geocaching day out with Brewmaker, Its_Dozzie, MaxAdventurer, Martin Cousins and EverestHigh. Log signed with the abbreviated signature BIMME4. TFTC.
#13374 14:55After the event in Bungania National Park, we drove to Marulan for a great burger at the Meridian Cafe, but not before Martin Cousins and myself stopped on the 150th meridian for a quick find.TFTC

As the sun was shining for what felt like the first time this year, I was keen to get out and about and do some caching. My daughter was horrified by the idea. My son, however, was super excited to hit the road and explore somewhere new. So, we left my daughter at the grandparents, very happy to spend quality time with the rents, while my son and I jumped in the car ready for adventure! We made a quick find here. We almost missed it at first, but then my son spotted something. We retrieved the cache and signed the log.TFTC and the adventure.
Travelling to Sydney, this was a cache which always eluded me, until today. Waited out the rain at the servo and made the quick find. Tftc
Found this nice Cache together with Dino and Flintstones. Thank you for putting it out and maintaining it SWAGgers.
Dino drove the first half on our way to Sydney and we chose here for the stop to swap driver and do a chache. Interesting art in the park. Quick find, nice location, all in good order. Thanks for bringing us here. Thank you SWAGgers for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
Quick find enroute home from Canberra. Marulan is always a good rest stop for weary riders and drivers
Found during a day of geocaching in the area while returning from QOGM in Longreach.
Found in the company of icybeetas on our tour around Goulburn today. Thanks SWAGgers for placing it here to point out the significance, especially since it is daylight savings time changeover.
Great day out with caching team. Enjoyed the backroads, however the Hume Highway was super busy making it difficult to cross and enter. TFTC
Quick find today while driving up to Sydney. Got swooped alot by a couple of magpies but they'd didn't cause any damage except raised heartbeats and a ruined eyebrow. Cache in good order. Thanks for bringing us here, very interesting read and loved the mosaic
Late log: found on my way home from Goulburn. I took some pretty photos of the sunset but apparently forgot to log my find! TFTC!
After a couple of days visiting my son and his family in the ACT, it’s time to head home once again. Although today, I’m not bringing the muggle missus with me. So an opportunity to have a quick look at a couple of caches/series for future reference.
Like so many, I have driven past this park sooo many times, as I usually call in here on the way home if I need fuel. I had convinced myself that it had something to do with mining, but never really took much notice as it was generally dark when I drove by. But on reading before arriving, I was surprised at just what this was all about! I spent a little bit of time studying the sculpture, quite intriguing.
After my inspection and little walk around the park, I wandered over to the GZ for what was a quick find and replaced as found. I gazed over at the flags flying over the other side, and wondered if the plethora of smaller white poles were found other countries flags for some kind of celebration. FP for an interesting cache location!

We had a rest in Marulan at this nice little park. We found the cache after some minutes of searching. Not till then we noticed what the sculpure and the cache mean.
Thank you for the cache and showing this interessting place!

Found it, the second one I ever found. Didn't take anything, I only had a pink pen on me, hope it's okay
(3 of 19 today)
The Geowife is up the Central Coast - enjoying herself without me. I'll be at the cricket test from tomorrow, where caching opportunities are very limited - either got them years ago or they're mine.
But that means today I can go for numbers... So I did!
Decided to head to Marulan - a touch further south than I've previously gone on a day caching trip (other than the Mega in Canberra a few years back) - where there was plenty to plunder.
Went for 19 and got the lot. Collected information for one more but that needs a lot of work.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Another quick and simple find - found it in the first spot I checked.
signed, replaced and away.

Found this oldie that is well favourited. Enjoyed the story behind it and the mosaic globe. TFTC OVW Everesthigh
Found It!
A quick find and an unusual claim to fame. My GPS says the sculpture should be 80m further to west. I guess they don't use the usual datum here.

I found myself on the road to Sydney today and in no real rush, so I decided to attempt a couple of caches. I decided to stop in Marulan for a coffee and a cache. It was freezing outside, so the coffee was appreciated after a short stroll to find the cache. Thanks for placing a cache at this interesting location.

Have eyed this one off many times but never had the opportunity to stop. Fuel was cheaper than the roadhouse so we stopped and had lunch. Walked the geohound over in the cold rain and wind to the park.
Have to say this is a pretty ugly sculpture - did wonder if a government architect was involved. Also surprised at the 150 claim but too lazy to confirm either way.
All good here

A nice quick find before we stopped for some lunch.
We headed out of town today to work on DAKSIDEDAN's Bronze Challenge Series. Well why wouldn't you, as we had already completed all of the Silver and Gold series we could and qualified for most, but it did seem a step backwards going for Bronze!
The plan was sound, but it turned out to be a bit of an adventure. With flooded fords and bridgework we were turned back 2 or 3 times and had to divert round. It did mean that we got to Maraluan however and had a nice lunch there. Good hot coffee!
Thanks to DAN for another great series and even better to meet you last night and put a face to a name. We really appreciate your caching efforts.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache SWAGgers.
