Hi there Reviewer,

RE: The cache "Withering Heights"

Following up on my "Needs Maintenance" log. It is now well over 28 days old and there has been no reaction from the CO.
Could you please temporarily disable the cache to prevent it from showing up in search lists?

Regards

Ian & Penny

Hi there Maux Faux,

RE: Your cache **"Withering Heights"**

We looked for your cache today, but there are no yellow and black signs (with sleepers) anywhere in the vicinity of the crossing.

It is not possible to complete this cache with the information provided.

Regards

Ian & Penny

In Whyalla for the day for a Wedding, so thought we would kill some time.
Lots of fun getting to the top for the lovely views.
Cheers and thanks for the cache

19-Mar-15
Spent way longer than it should have due to transposing wrong numbers. There is a crossing sign near the T junction which also had a crossing sign with sleepers. TNLNSL.

18-Dec-14
There is no longer a rail sign anywhere near the listed coordinate so I couldn't complete this multi.

13-Aug-14
Yesterday we found a few down the road and like yesterday a bit of time after work before the sun sets we decided on a few closer to town, had gathered the info sometime ago on a previous visit to town but did not have the time to visit GZ not so today ut some fantastic views from here as the sun was getting low in the sky TFTC

[blue]Out on the wiley, windy moors,
We'd roll and fall in green.
You had a temper like my jealousy:
Too hot, too greedy.
How could you leave me,
When I needed to possess you?
I hated you. I loved you, too[/blue] Smile

I often feel that way about a multi-cache [^]

And this one was no exception ... I had to possess it Razz
But a problemo cropped up at the starting coordinates [:o]
I suspect that the 'railway crossing' in question used to have a [red]STOP[/red] sign and the sign at the coordinates did indeed exist Razz
But with the installation of flashing lights at the crossing, the roadsigns have also been updated [:o]

The nearest railway X-ing on side road sign was over a hundred metres away and had no 'sleepers' snoring behind it Sad
Well there are only so many sleepers you can fit on a yellow and black diamond so I ran a few numbers through the GPS.
One looked good ... so off I rode Razz

And at my calculated coordinates, I wandered around in vain.
No cache here Sad
But that spot over there on the next hill looks like it [u]should[/u] have a cache on it Razz
Some fudging on numbers and I had a set of coords that seemed to be in that spot [^]

So a bit more riding and I was there.
A short scramble around and there was a cache Smile
You Beauty [^]

TFTC and a bit of fun and games riding up the hill.
Nothing for it now but to find a few of the Double Dragon caches up this way Razz

Great countryside and glad we had the final worked out before we came this way. Thanks maux faux. Took tb.

After figuring where the end point for this one was, I went and completed all the other multi’s in town just in case any more headed in that direction. I would be really miffed to have to go up there more than once [xx(].

I chickened out and left the Commode parked on the main road and trekked up to GZ. My heart sank when I realised that GZ took in a huge pile of rocks, all of which looked like they’d been piled up to hide something Twisted.

After much cursing and swearing, I decided to investigate the OTHER areas the were encompassed within GZ … and ta-dahh!! [^]. Boy, was I glad to see that container. Too much effort put in to come away with a DNF.
So in the end, a great cache and I put in a personalised (non-trackable) TFTC coin. So if you want it Maux Faux, you’ll have to trek up there again to get it Twisted. Thanks again for a great cache Big Grin

Dropped by on a beautifully mild winter's day. No wind, sunny...perfect!
Dropped off the Little Brother 4X4 tb

The commodore wagon has excelled itself today. Got me to within 20mtrs of the cache site. Wife grimacing the whole time, expecting a rock to come through the floor ("Don't park like that. What if the brake fails and it rolls down the hill?"). "Well then it needed fixing anyway!". Who says you need 4WD's.

Rocky Glen Grommets completed the puzzle and where we stopped was virtually where it was! Found by Grom 2 - we decided to leave his Yamaha Travel Bug - we want it to travel to lots of places and clock up lots of Kilometres - the KTM Travel Bug is winning the race at the moment - we want the Yamaha to move quickly from place to place - please help it on its way! We took the Qld Travel Bug. Thanks maux faux!

Checked and double checked calculations and still got them wrong.

Editted to add:
Just checked on google earth and discovered I was only about 30 metres away, knew that rock area looked like a better spot than where I was searchingSad.

Found the yellow sign and did the calculus. A white tray top was looking at the Camry struggle up this hill. Little did I know I would soon be riding in it. But that’s another story for another cache! Left a star key chain. Nice views of the FeKnob train.

Thanx Maux Faux and clear skies from TeamAstro. [^]

Just stopped by to retrieve Bunya's travel slug to send it south.

22-Sep-07
Good one, and a nice walk and great view of Whyalla.
Took photo of the Slug, but left him as no trips are planned.
Took lizard, Left small car, and TFTH card.

18-Sep-07
The little gully was an unexpected but pleasant surprise! You’d never know it was there looking from the highway. The plants obviously benefit from the protection and extra run-off it must provide. Nice view too.
Took 1942 penny. Left gecko, mini turtle and Travel Slug geocoin.
Thanks maux faux.
