Thanks for the family outing. The cache is extremely wet and may need replacing.
Pleased to get this cache, practicing my gravel road driving. Big farms out here. TFTC
Nice and easy to find. The contents of container are damp so didnt write on paper. Very interesting stop, thank you
Found with ivss_xx and Gummi_Venus. The awful winds today stole a page from the logThats a really specific piece of local history!
Found with ObnoxiousSpaceCat and ivss_xx, I always enjoy caches with interesting local history - TFTC!
12:29 FITW ObnoxiousSpaceCat, Gummi_VenusNo room at all anymore. Doesn't look pike there is one at a 265m distance anyway. Thanks for the wee piece of local history!Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, Bitsprayer!#9951
Found easily enough the large container was out in the open by the fence behind the monument it has been there a long time according to it’s imprint so I left it there. Interesting plaque. Had an interesting route to get here down the old road which I think the dairy farm has com-endeared the road is closed at the main road end . Thanks for the hide, didn’t know this was here.
Although the weather wasn't great this morning, I popped out for a drive to find a couple of caches. Nice one. Never would have known about this historic spot if it wasn't for this cache. Cache found safe and sound as per the hint. TFTC, Biggles.
Out and about for work and finding some caches along. This one was easily found and cache is all good here. Picked up the trackable. TFTC.
No sign of the trackable, mentioned, but was another I collected to journey with
visited and droped a TB that some friends from Germany left with me. The cache was wet and I dried it as best I could
Found with Trifolia Argentea in a series of drive-by grabs on the way to lunch (and a further walk) in Rakaia. They did most of the searching, while I helped with GPS duty. TFTC!
A quick second find of the day on a caching expedition around Rakaia. TFTC!
Found it! Nice and dry inside the cache

Went a bit far because roads not sign posted. Found it on back tracking. Nice bit of history.
Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
No time to waste today - We each had caching jobs to do, and our day was mostly planned... A quick stop... Thanks Bitsprayer and TFTC.

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with EyeSpyBen we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region.

All good here once I got onto the correct road. A quick find at an interesting spot. I had to be in Ashburton for a short time today so decided I would also find 10 caches around the area. Found 8 in around Ashburton so had to find a couple on the way home. No.9. TFTC
A straightforward find today thanks to Troodles log. Saw the same thing she saw then did what SW did. Not even hidden really! Thanks for the hide. #3281
StreetWalker wanted a walk up Mt Herbert, but I thought that sounded a little strenuous, so instead we decided to find the new(ish) caches near the Rakaia Huts as well as few en route.
This is another cache that has been on our radar for some time. SW parked right beside GZ, but as my GPSr was pointing over the road, that's where I searched. Found a suspicious pile of rocks but no cache so searched some more. SW decided I was taking too long and joined the search, but he looked on the other side of the road, where the cache was quickly found. Nice big container too. Thanks Bitsprayer.

#16145. I'm amazed we've haven't looked for this one before (a drive by not far off SH1). Today we finally got round to looking for it. Troodles followed her GPSr across the road, and I looked behind the rock the plaque was on and there was the (decent size) cache (in plain sight). Left the cache where I found it (would have been nice to have left it covered up a bit, but nothing was at hand). TFTC.
Looks like a little work has gone on here. I couldn't find the cache although a couple of likely looking spots.
Heading South for a break and a bit of Geocaching. Grabbing a few between Christchurch and Oamaru. Quick find at GZ
Signed log, TFTC Bitsprayer.

Quick detour along here on my way home after a long weekend in Christchurch. Room at the Inn today so dropped of a trackable. TFTC
There was plenty of room at the inn for me to leave Michelin Man TB. TFTC Bitsprayer

Coordinates are perfect - I love it when I make the find in the first place I looked. Nice size container made it super easy TFTC
I looked and looked and looked a bit more for this cache... should it not be classified as a mico due to how small it is? Just sayin... cheers
Did a stopover in my bike tour of the south island because of the rainy weather today, waited for it to clear and went back over the bridge to get to this cache. TFTC.
using the normal "going south technique " for having and interesting and traffic free trip by darting left and right off the main road when ever i spy a cache or two off the black stuff.. and hopefully linking a few together.. going well today.... pulled up here right at the right time to get a nice cooling shower in the searing heat as the "apparatus " in the field behind gave me an "up close and personal" demo of how it works... always thought that was how... then it was back across the road to the cache.. surprise.. almost exactly a year since it has been found.. all in order:-)
I managed to get on a work trip to Christchurch for two weeks but was faced with a dilemma. Do I go for quantity or quality? I didn't have a vehicle to use all to myself so was somewhat limited to what I could get. In the end I just found what I could when I could but the webcam and the virtual were top of my list.
Went for a drive after finishing up for the day with a couple of muggle friends. We went directly for the obvious spot before being disappointed and finding the cache right beside where we parked. This cache will be 10 years old this year. Good work for keeping it alive.
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

I made a trade me purchase - near dunsandel! Ah - what an excuse to go out caching!! So I decided to try find as many as the babys patience would allow - turns out that was only 11 caches - as the drive was quite long too! Baby slept most of the way south, then woke up after only a few caches, and got quite frustrated that she was stuck in her car seat all alone while I was having all the fun!! So we had to give up, and turn around!
This was number three. Easy find, but I didn't make the wonder to the nearby cache as I didn't want to wake the baby!
TFTC!!

Been to dog agility at Rakaia and thought we should clean up a few caches on the way home. TFTC!!!
I was travelling out this way with injeanious for non-caching reasons however we couldn't very well be out all day and not pick up a cache somewhere. So this one was cache of the day, nice easy find, TFTC!
Jess.daphne and I were out for the day, but shockingly we hadn't gotten any caches. So we thought we'd better find one on the way back to Christchurch. This one was a quick find down a gravel road. Interesting plaque nearby, seems an odd thing to commemorate. Tftc.
I asked a friend if she wanted to go caching with me today she replied that she did have gardening to do but that that could wait until tomorrow. So it was off down Rakaia Huts way and other nearby environs.
In: TB.
Cheers for the cache.

A nice, short drive from the main road & a quick find. Interesting to see the plaque in this quiet wee spot. TFTC.
An easy find whils at the Rakaia Salmon Fishing Competition.
No salmon for me yet.

I decided to go for a drive down to Ashburton today. I have driven passed this cache many times. This time I made a wee side trip. Interesting spot to stop thanks. I picked up a travel bug too.
Looked in the wrong place to start with - but a quick find once we looked at the GPS - thanks for the bit of history as well
We had a quick park, read the plaque 'n' grab here as we start making our way back towards Christchurch via many places in between. TFTC.
First cache found today with Woody104 on the second day of our Mega Adventure. Salamat!
Sad find as it was just a small plastic bag with a few pieces of paper with logs on
Down south this week for some time with our local rep for some training (and after a couple of caches which I have targeted as in need for some special attention to meet the challenge that is the DGsc Challenge further North. along with Zorgon's Virtual Challenge.
It has been a mission to get here as time is always the curse for these out of town stays, and also the weather had to play its part (which it did) in the adventure. After having made a quick dash further down country for the virtual I thought to grab a few on the way back to christchurch so as to try to finish off the 172 Challenge
So again thank you for the FUN of the hunt
