I think this one is a gonner. No sign of it to be seen as the last few hunters have found out.
No luck here, put gardening gloves on and checked every post in wide circle incase but not to be found. After 30mins we gave up.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a coolish winters day caching in and around Oamaru during our Queens Birthday trip south.
I went to one side and SW the other and he chose correctly. Could do with a new log book as the current one is quite fragile. TFTC.

Went for find without phone, went to obvious post, but not there... found a couple posts later. The hay fever is loving me today with the long grass!
Stealth mode... zip with the other half who was sneezing his guts out... sigh... can't take him anywhere... Anyhow, cache soon found and logged. TFTC
The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.
My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.
Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.
Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size. Finally we have made it to Oamaru and after a shower (1st in several days), a decent feed, and it was off to find a few more caches locally before calling it quites for the evening as we have a big day tomorrow to try and get to a point whereby we all get to acheive our individual set goals.

Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 4: With the lack of sleep starting to take a toll we finished Day 3 off early and got a few hours sleep before getting back to finding about 2am this morning. Todays mission was to find caches around Tekapo before heading South through the Mackenzine Country via Hakataramea Pass, and onto Dansey's pass before coming out on the coast and heading to Oamaru for the Geofest and caching around the area.
With our names on the log book at Geofest, our bags checked into our accomodation and our bellies full. What else could we do but more caching!!
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.

Found with dakotacats, disappointed that we weren't right at the beach though! TFTC
Up in Oamaru for day #1 of the Oamaru geofest. Out with Sirbennis and KJR grabbing lots of caches. TFTC
Headed out for a Mad Mission with Team_Gaters and 8ManAfter we signed our logs today 'T8T' cos were dynatmite! I grabbed 8Man at 5.30 am and we grabbed TG just before 6am and we were on the road before 6am with the bikes on the back. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We wanted to do as much of the A2O as we could and as many PnGs that we could manage. We stopped by the event first and then we had to stop an grab breakfast at 10am. We grabbed some lunch and headed for the hills. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Scored a delicous dinner in town and headed home. Got home just after 12am knocking out 620km and 115 caches. Good times!
Needs some love as the log book was wet.
Cache 15 of 115 for this crazy day!
Thanks for the cache waitaki999.

A long days caching (Mad Mission?) with TheWanglers and 8ManAfter..revelin a bit of the Geofest Event in Oamaru. We signed our logs 'T8T' cos were dynamite...and 'in a hurry'...LOL! Picked up by TW & 8man at 6am...and we had our bikes loaded for a bit of A2O action during the day. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We stopped by the event first and then we stopped to town to grab some breakfast and a packed lunch and then headed out to hit some trails. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Grabbed some tea in town then headed for home. Got home just on 12am knocking out 620km and just over 100 cache finds for each of us. A great day with great company!
Cool spot. Log book rather wet. Cheers.

What an adventure we had today! TheWanglers, Team_Gaters, and I headed out at dawn from Christchurch with four goals in mind: 1) Find Many Caches, 2) Get TG to 7,000 finds, 3) get me to 3,000 finds, and 4) Have Fun! Needless to say, all were accomplished in spades. It was only my second 100+ day ever, and had us driving, walking, running, biking, and even crawling to make the finds. We were also able to find at least 6 different cache types, and attend two events, in order to catch up with old friends. Thanks to all the hiders, but most of all, thanks to my partners in crime! We signed all logs as "T8T", sung to the tune of AC/DC "TNT".

When I got to this cache I was being watched by well over 100 four legged girls, but this time some wooly girls. Hello girls
Careful of broken glass in this area. Last cache today, off home for lunch. Tftc.
The second weekend of planned caching trips for Chelzea and I. This one started caching near Temuka and then on down to Timaru, Oamaru over Danseys Pass and then back to ChCh from Palmerston the next day. Long and winding trip in places but managed a good number of caches with only a few DNF's. Too many to remember in detail so sorry for the cut and paste logs but thanks to all the owners it was a great two days of searching new places for a good variety of caches.
A really easy geochate just going on a buck ride and knew there was one their so parked up next to it
The beach was calling on this really hot day - nice quick find before heading towards the sea. TFTC #7526
Nice find on a 'take your hitchhiker geocaching' day! We had a laugh about the street signs near gz... Unfortunately no time to go down the beach today, but I'll be back! TFTC!!

Took a back road to who knows where and discovered a pretty cool beach. The colours of sea and sky are very vivid today - beautiful! Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Selecting caches randomly to chart my route south on the bi anunal driving hoilday..always discovering new things about good old kiwi land;) ...and caches are a great tool for that... ooh look a first to find on a brand knew log book... intially thought it was a real first to find.. until I realized it was un found at the time i generated my pq for the trip... but just like home that changed fast:) haha.. tb in to celebrate
Took a bit of a search, then tried the other side and found it.
Found on our Invercargill to Christchurch road trip. Thanks to all the cache owners who have put out some great caches in some great locations, we enjoyed our trip and enjoyed many of the places we found ourselves. SL TFTC.

Had to get this one as it is family name, found and logged with grnville86a, TFTC
all these years taking the dog to this beach and i never realised there was one here. TFTC
All ways wondered what the coast was like here having often driven past the turn-off from SH1. Now I know. Pity I didn't look for the cache nearer the beach. I need to return.
Quick find on a much-needed coffee break for Geomum and I. Had a whole herd of cows curiously observing what we were up to, I couldn't quite decide whether it was cute or unnerving. TFTC!
On a caching trip with ingidayna to Oamaru and surrounds to get 1000 finds. TFTC
Disturbed a wild cat. Looked in several places. Should have stuck with the first. TFTC
Nice driveby late in the afternoon. Didn’t go to the beach though. Thanks waitaki999 for the cache.
Found with YuGeo4, no signs of any fishermen here today, but did get a funny look from a local farmer as he was driving pass with his tractor, but he carried on, on his merry way without stopping, will be back and bringing my fishing rod to do some fishing here. TFTC TNLNSL (1358)

Once the GPS settled it walked us to the cache for a quick find on our way north. TNLN TFTC
My hand must have gone over this a dozen times before I eventually located it. Sometimes, easy aint easy!
A quick stop on the way north and back home after a fun weekend. Cheers Gav [2740]
