Thanks for the cache, recently found during an overnight caching trip in the Shepparton area.Being that both days of the trip were school days, access to starting area was difficult; instead I put in all the different suggested GZ's and just went to each spot, looking until I eventually found it. Log signed and cache returned without hassle, after finding it.

After a fun visit meeting my muggle friends new pooch we had time to finish the last few caches on my list. This one was a fun little search for the clue and a quick find at gz, thanks for the interesting visit.

The Trip.
A muggle friend was visiting Shepparton today to see a man about a dog, literally! They asked if i would like to come along for morale support and to share the drive, i jumped at the chance so long as i could find a few caches along the way. With that sorted i set about creating a short list of caches from the many available. I came up with thirteen which helped me achieve various goals and was about as many as i could reasonably expect my friend to tolerate before getting bored.

TFTC. cdmark for your cache Bill's Shack that we found today.

Another quick find on our mega trip.

e.Gregory1 and Freddo decided to travel to Wangaratta for Geocaching Victoria’s first 2022 Mega event. The attraction of GeoMaze icon was just too tempting. We packed the Land Cruiser for a bubble environment. There would be some public exposure but we would be keeping it minimal. Fortunately we did not bother with any warm clothes. Fortunately we packed some Bushmans with +20% DEET. There were caches to find and we found caches. We saw a lot of interesting places and met the occasional geocacher or two in the field.

I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Found as I made my way from Adelaide to the Mega event at Wangaratta with Freddo.

We meandered our way across northern Victoria, camping along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks. We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other caches opportunistically as we were passing.

Thank cdmark for the cache.

Finding this cache between Christmas and New Years was a very smart move! The place was a ghost town and I was the only car in the carpark! Went to Wp1 and had a quick look around before doing a 180 degree turn and finding the sundial nestled amongst the bushes, right near where I had parked but I walked right past it!

The question was slightly ambiguous as there were a couple of potential colours the dog could have been, but I made an educated guess and headed off.

My very low 2WD made it the entire length of this track which I was surprised about, so I was able to collect a whole heap of multis along here!

My numbers must have been correct as I was soon at GZ signing the logbook!

So pleased to finally be able to turn this blue sad face into a yellow happy face! Many thanks to locus cache for rejuvenating this hide.

08-Sep-21
I have been wanting to do this multi for so long; indeed, for as long as I have been living in Shepparton. I haven't waited too long, as I have only shifted here 5 months ago. I was given the tour of this fantastic establishment by my partner dalerious and was chomping on the bit to getting this multi log signed. Thanks again to locus cache, who never tires looking after our local caches.

31-Aug-21
Cache replaced with permission of CO and local maintainer.

13-Apr-21
No luck today with 6 of us looking. Might be worth a check from CO

28-Sep-20
We worked out where we supposed to go. We looked over, under, in and around but to no avail we couldn't find it. Unsure if it's there as there were 3 previous DNFs.

29-Jun-20
Struggled a little with this one not sure if we're in the right area. Little overgrown. And several trees down. Will try again another time!

21-Mar-20
After a pleasant drive and also a bit of a local history lesson we made our way to the gz and came up with nothing but a little left over swag. Never mind, we may be back this way again and will check on this one again. Thanks anyway cdmark for the interesting multi.

21-Mar-20
Got the info needed and once at GZ, only found a bit of swag but no container.
Will be back when back in the area.

14-Mar-20
So very sorry. I was sorting the photos on my phone whilst we are locked down and found a couple of days of caching that I had forgotten to log. This is not the date it was found but I am unable to tell what date it was. Was staying at Shepparton with Papi4506 as we were babysitting the fur grandbabies so took the opportunity to go for a drive around and collect some caches. Thanks for the cache and bringing us here. Apologies

Another trip out after a long day at work but it was a nice warm afternoon so why not. A few multi's to find was on the agenda today. This one I was a bit worried about with the colour but it worked out in the end as it took me a good few minutes to locate this cache container. Nice bit of history in the notes thanks.

**Thanks to cdmark for hiding this cache for us to find and enjoy**

In Shep enjoying the early summer weather while concentrating on Multi's mainly but a few trads were scored along the way as well Big Grin
We enjoyed reading the history of Bill's "Shack" before making our way to determine the colour of the dog. Once at GZ we expanded our search a little before finding the cache container.
Thanks cdmark for the interesting piece of history.

Find #9855

Today I was on a mission. Not only was it multi no trad day, it was also old cache day. This multi was quite cool, gotta love a little history lesson. Cache was found safe and sound in a spot I dismissed in my initial search, but leafotwind came to the rescue and cache log was signed.

Many thanks to cdmark for the cache. TNLN.

After having attended the nearby event and participated in a group assault on a particularly curly puzzle, ahomburg and I had continued on our own way seeking out a few multis in the area around town and then heading further afield. This was the first multi and was found on our way to a particular old one called Chevy on the Levee. locus cache had advised us that we ought to do this one first and seeing as there was no one at the local TAFE (given it was a Saturday) we stopped to appreciate the house and gather the relevant information.
At GZ, ahomburg had given the structures an initial once over. I then made my way through the barrier and began a little more thorough investigation of some of the local items. A bit of a prod and push and the cache was revealed.
Thanks for the history on William Orr. A pity he had no children as they would (more likely than not) have contributed to the young society as he had. Neverthless, quite clearly a full life was had by him.

22-Oct-18
Bills shack was very interesting. The hardest part of this multi was trying to figure out if I had made the correct colour choice. I wasn’t sure between some. Luckily I made the correct choice and found the cache in a nice location. Thanks for the multi cdmark

12-Aug-18
With a last minute decision to spend the night in Shepparton, we did a quick map search to pick out a dozen or so caches to grab. Obviously, this one made the cut !! The weather wasn't too bad, even though it was cold, the rain held off. We had a blast on our lightning visit to the area. We didn't get all caches that we planned, so a return trip is in order.
Like others, we couldn't agree on the colour of the dog. We went with the wifes guess first, nope. Let's try my choice.... bingo !! Thanks for the informative cache. TFTC cdmark Big Grin

Out and about on a wintry day. Don’t know why we haven’t attempted this multi before on any of our trips to Shepparton, but here we are! Like previous finders, we had trouble with the colour of the dog, but with 4 possibilities for GZ off we set. There seems to have been a few new developments along this road, but eventually the prize was gained. SL at 12.27pm Took: micro machine car Left: dinosaur. Loved reading about Bill’s foray into the silver and copper mines in Tasmania, which we visited last November. #5354 TFTC cdmark

Some interesting history here upon reading the Geocache Description. I had some trouble locating the coloured dog required [:o] for the final so I took a punt on the choice of 4. Took a little longer for me as it was the 3rd one I chose [:o)] The other two false GZ's did yield some interesting hidey holes none the less Wink

SL at 10:17 on Mon 8 Jan 2018. The cache and contents are all good and dry [^] TFTC cdmark Smile

{There was a "Reverse Southern Cross" on an Aussie Flag in the cache lol... a first maybe? Never seen that before Big Grin}

Out on another adventurous family road trip to Mexico, now with geosis along for the ride.

Normally I like to do multi caches properly but if someone stops the car and points I'm more than happy to get a smilie.

What ever way this multi was done the reflections at GZ were fantastic.

Thanks for the cache cdmark.

Gotta love a easy multi! At first when I pulled up I thought I must have been in the wrong area but no! I have been in this area many times! Even went to Agriculture school not far from here & I never knew this place existed! SL TFTC.

30-Jun-17
Found the sundial in an overgrown garden as I was about to leave. Had trouble deciding on colour of dog so I had to visit several sites. Found on my second attempt but still took awhile as I wasn't convinced I was at GZ

25-May-17
Two great places to visit in one GC. Thanks for taking us to both.

10-May-16
Today was the day that muggle partner, Brodie and I left our friends at the Wakiti Creek Resort and headed towards the Lake Eildon GeoTour.
We got a bit stuck around Shepparton (there was just too many caches that I wanted to do Wink) and didn't leave there until about 5.30pm, after catching up with the lovely Cybergran V again Wink
So with our plans to have started the GeoTour today having been derailed Surprised, we drove into Alexandra and stayed there for the night.
After tea, we headed out and walked around while doing the Alexandra Post Office cache Cool
Today's cache finds numbered Smile 10 and there was 2 DNFs Sad

Unless mentioned otherwise, please know that your cache and log book was in good condition.

This cache took me hours from start to finish and that was fantastic! Wink
Arriving at the initial coords to obtain the information, I took some pics and was then approached by a gentleman who wanted to know why I was there[?]
I told him I like old things and he then proceeded to spend about an hour showing me around the buildings and explaining the history Cool [^] Cool
Even better was that because I had read the cache description, I could discuss the history with him and we had a lovely time chatting and looking and learning [^] CoolBig Grin
Sadly now that I am logging about 2 weeks later, I have forgotten his name Red Face I think it was Owen but don't quote me on that!
While wandering through with him, I asked if the ceilings in the rear rooms were original as they had decorated plaster instead of timber ceilings[?] The Gentleman wasn't sure. Later I read other logs on this cache and learned that dalerious had been involved in that restoration Surprised dalerious, you really MUST go back and have a look.... great work! [^]
Even later in the day, after Cybergran V came for a drive with us and I told her the story about seeing inside Bill's Shack and dalerious' log, she surprised me by informing me that she knew dalerious Surprised
The gentleman also explained that the brick work under the water tank was once the cool room where meat was hung and that's why they had such an elaborate tank stand. Cool
He even offered to let me into the cellar but as my knees were a bit dodgy today, I declined that bit of the tour.
The gentleman also started telling em about another hosue nearby where German prisoners had been kept during the war. Thanks to geocaching, I could tell him about the cemetery where those who died are buried Wink
I left him with 'geocache' written down and I bet he looks it up Wink
Finally, I got to head to GZ and made the cache find in an area that we had just left after finding another multi cache there SurprisedWink
Thanks for an amazingly fortunate experience at Bill's Shack Cool[^]

I am quietly proud to log this find as this place is a bit special to me.
Many moons ago, when I was plastering for a living, Iwas honored to gain the contract to restore the ornamental cornices and decorative ceiling rosettes that adorn this beautiful old building.[^]
Oddly enough though, I never made it back to see the completed project as anything but a construction site.Sad or should I say, reconstruction site.Wink I guess I will just have to find an excuse now to go for a sticky-beak.Smile

#1266 a few challenges associated with this one such as locating the sundial in the overgrown garden, but it is still there. This is an impressive homestead with some great history as outlined on the page write up. Mr BGF came here a few times to complete a course a year or so back. On the second time we went to gz we came up with cache.... Thanks cdmark

Having had this one up my sleeve for a while I had to claim it today to get my one cache a day. It's nice to find a nice clean dry cache after all the rain

Thanks for reactivating this cache. We have searched for it before with the whole geofamily but couldn't find it at any of the co-ordinates (desparate times call for desparate measures). But today an easy find. Left an Aussie flag!

Cache replaced and question changed to reduce ambiguity.

01-Mar-14
Arrived at posted co-ords and eventually found the sundial which is quite surrounded by greenery now. A woman spotted us and came to warn us a tiger snake had been seen in the slithering along the guttering only a short while ago.

Like previous finder, we had a discussion as too just what colour the dog was. We must have got it wrong as we didn't find, but we will be back soon.

13-Jan-14
Finally! Easy place but look hard

09-Nov-13
Could not even find the sundial at wp1 so took a guess. Will go back when it's cooler and earlier in the day. Just before dusk on a warm evening is too easy atime to find snakes, methinks Sad

28-Oct-13
Found at last. Not missing like other visits.
