Storkers I didnt find your cache Tallowood on 15/6/2024, 4:00PM. Nope, had a look around but nothing found.
This cache was on the list and we had a good search around and expanded our search area but no luck finding anything today.
Was looking for a while in the area with no luck. I felt a little crazy looking for it, especially after matching a photo to confirm I was in the right spot. Closest I found was a little hole in the ground at the base of a tree that looked like it could have had the box sitting in it, but it was filled with stickers and bark. Will be coming back another day for this one.
After stumbling about, practically doing a grid search with Genghicat, we finally decided to give up. We had both gone in with shorts, and the Lantana had left its mark. I looked for the clearest path back, which my geo- devil, being a smart girl, had found. She had also found the cache, so I signed for both of us before exiting the scrub. Genghicat joined me at the edge, having been bitten by ant. He claims he will now lose his leg. The cache was in good condition. Tftc
# 8751 Find day 13/20 the current souvenir season.
Today, iPlod65 is running in a 100mile - 160km event along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. I'm part of her crew, so grabbing caches as time and place permits. It would be great to ride the BVRT and get the rest some time. Had to Bush bash a bit here, but easier on the way out.
Thanks Storkers for the hide.

Stopped in for a picnic after grabbing some lunch from the bakery in town. A leafy spot for lunch and a cache, what more do you need. TFTC
It really is an impressive stick.
Nice to see an ammo box, just like in the old days. All in good order.

An incredible hunk of timber, tallowood being quite rare these days.

Found whilst on a very non direct route to QOGM - Charleville 2022. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Storkers

What an amazing piece of tallowood at near this cache. It's diameter is more than my height. Would be amazing to see majestic trees of this size still around, but can only imagine. Found on the way from the coast back home to the outback. Thank you Storkers for the time and effort you put into placing this cache to show us a fascinating piece of nature.
We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 14 – Farewells were done in Nanango with family and now heading to more family in Morayfield collecting more caches along our journey.
All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise mentioned.
Thanks to all the CO’s for the placements and keeping this hobby alive.

Quick little weekend away, exploring the country side, with the ultimate goal to complete some of the Map of Australia Geo-Art on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.
Making our way from Yarraman down to Toogoolawah, finding the caches that weren't exclusively on the rail trail. Found this one in good condition, made our mark and rehid as found.
All the logs are in good condition unless specified otherwise, and they were all found with ease unless specified otherwise.
Cache logs are either stamped, signed with Rogersclan13 or just RC13 for space. Thanks for the cache and thank you for breaking the drive up **Storkers**

While out on one of our geocaching days with Peppa, we discussed how many oldies we have found and mentioned "Noises of Tarong". So a day trip to the area was planned and today we on our way to the targeted cache.
Another area I have visited before while 4wding but for some reason didn't look for any geocaches. A cache to stop for and admire nature, that was one BIG TREE. Cache found quickly, SL then returned as found.

A nice place to stop on our drive West this morning and a wander in the bush led us to my favourite kind of cache container. All good here log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache Storkers.
Quick find with the kids on the way home from trip to Charleville 27/09/21 @ 1150
I walked here from town, after first walking to the cemetary and back in the entire other direction.
There was a couple relaxing in the carpark when i walked up and then on into the scrub.
At first i went to the obvious, then in a somewhat wider circle before noticing a serious spor that gave it away, walked on over to find a nice big ammo tin..
And an original logbook !! All dry and full of names.
Wowee. How this hasn't been muggled yet is awesome.
Thanks storkers for showing me this random rest area with a geocache. So happy to get this nice old one too.

Caching while driving to Kingaroy from Brisbane. Looked and looked and looked with no success. Read previous log which gave an updated co-ords, which was about 20m from where I was looking. Walked over to where the new co-ords took me and in no time found it. TFTC Storkers
When we arrived here there was a damsel in distress who was in the parking lot with a broken down car. She appreciated us stopping as she had no idea what she was doing. She had jacked her car up and was looking for her starter motor so she could give it a whack. We rendered assistance and it turns out she just had a flat battery which we were able to quickly charge up. Shame that others hadn't stopped to help her. She said lots of cars had driven past but no one had stopped to help her. She said the place reminded her of Bangalow State Forest and she kept thinking of Ivan Malat. She was all teary that we helped her and got her on her way. After this we went to look for the cache but after 20 mins gave up. We decided to cook lunch here and afterwards went for another look. With 4 eyes looking for another 15 mins we finally found it. Wow, we found the co-ords quite off. Not sure if there has been cache creep, or if our GPS was out. But here is where we found it - S26 53.3624 E152 08.4771. Thanks for a great cache - by the way that Tallowwood is massive. Would have loved to have seen it for real.
Found it eventually... read the previous comments to help with finding this one...
Thanks

On a looong road trip to see the family for birthdays and Valentines Day. I had a long list of caches I desperately wanted to grab, but the kids' interest waned and I had to be selective. So this one was the last one I could grab!
Lovely area here, except for the needles :'(. Tallowood is enormous - bigger than my nephew! So cool to see.
Appears the coords have shifted a little and you'll find the cache south of where your GPSr is pointing you. Otherwise all good here with this old cache.
TFTC and TB visits while I'm here.

Hunted all over the place, thankfully HippyDonna is bad with directions & she found the cache TFTC
Took us ages here trying to find. Came away with lots of scratches!
Nice ammo tin.

Wow, after a huge search and nowhere near coordinates we finally found it. Just about to give it away for good and heading back to car when Bingo there it was just off to the left of our route back out of bush - TFTC - lots of good kid goodies. On reflection a good challenge.
Tried on a cloudy day but could not get GPS to settle and both it and compass just kept changing direction. Right over GZ co-ords but still unable to locate. Found plenty of rubbish and unused syringes, but sadly not the target.
Unfortunately couldn’t find. Must have been looking in the wrong spot. Will try again on a cooler day
Out today on a mission to grab a few targeted caches while on a trip to a community event, seems not only Santa has a list, love the list. This was not on the list, but a quick stop saw two of us requiring this one. A short walk from the parking area and cache was in hand. My sixth cache and a nice size cache too, thank you.
With the log signed and cache replaced it was off to the next one on the list, or add to the list. All good with this one, thanks for placing it here.

Day 1 of of a Queensland road trip with EatSleepCacheRepeat and JACS Team - Brisbane to Roma. We spent the day slowly driving (is there any other way for geocachers?) to Roma and picking up the odd geocache here and there. No real targets beyond a couple of older caches.
First stop of the day here. TFTC!

First cache of the day on our way for a long road trip. A quick park, short wander and grab. Nice for the first stretch of the legs.
First find in South Burnett for me. Quick stop on the way back to brissy
Thank you for placing this geocache Storkers

We were on our way home from a big day out and decided to stop for a quick cache and to stretch the legs. The tallowood was amazing but I would much prefer to have seen it still standing. Thanks for the cache
On our way to Kingaroy. Stopped in for a quick easy find. First cache of winter. Amazing old Tallowwood stump !!
Nice little rest stop. Accidentally stumbled on the 'toilet tree' while looking for correct tree. But found the right geotrail eventually.
On a mission to get a few caches today and on the way home I dropped in to try my luck. It's nice to see people name a Tree instead of just saying a Tree but I guess a lot of people would not know a Tallowood. Nice sized cache here. Log signed log and replace as found. TFTC
