Logs
Looking forward to all the GCLogan activities and events; during the events and caching activities, I teamed up with Bluewattle, Grannysmith Kerrie MG and Snickersallan as we worked our way around the areas collecting the new caches, and even some older ones. We managed to attend most events, a few citos and some meal events. It was great to see the many different faces turning up to the different events. Today I was chasing a few caches and a couple of the events. Our team was happy to grab a whereigo or a UGO as they are known down this way. I am glad we got to do these as a group, we always seem to run into issues like the phone dying or the app dies off so there is safety in numbers. Between events and cache runs we also stopped at a few to clean out an area or stopped at for a particular reason. This was one of those, we signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for placing.
It was an early morning rise to the day, starting with kayaking on the river and then visiting some local cemeteries for some multies before heading to this traditional cache.Thank you, Bar-bq, for the good hide and ongoing maintenance.
TFTC smile 20645 Out and about on a Sunny day at the GC Logan Events signed as GS1947 on small logs With geofriends having a great time finding all the caches and this one is a oldie for a oldie Thank you bar-bq for placing this cache for our enjoyment
Logan Village school group it was mid to find at the end we found it it was a bit wet inside
2nd cache for the day whilst out this way. Very wet and needs attention but managed to sign the log. TFTC
A quick stop after completing the nearby Yarrabilba Parkrun. Bit damp but signable. TFTC
Out and about with RoddyC on a maintenance runA BIG Tree and a LOUD unhappy muggle at home in the distance, made for a fun find, TFTC Bar-bqContainer full of water...
Nice quick find. Log and everything inside was soaked with bubbles so we couldn't sign log. TFTC
Stopped for this one while out and about today. Occupants of the house were outside with their dirtbike ... was a little dubious about parking out front. But then I figured they're probably used to seeing cars there .
Container is in good condition ... everything else is soaked in bubble solution. Signed the soggy logbook as best I could.
If I'm in the area again in the next week or so, I will drop past with some dry contents if owner is unable.

Today, the morning plan was hiking to Upper Portals, utilising the [Picnic at Upper Portals](https://coord.info/GCA4KJT) event as an opportunity to visit this popular destination. An enjoyable group in attendance to make the 4WD drive and walk down, and a fortunate weather window to have completed that too. I then took a drive home via Rathdowney and Beaudesert, although I questioned the sanity of geocaching as I was caught in very heavy rain storms, which made me keep driving and adjust plans in order to not get drenched. Highlights included visiting Kooralbyn and seeing the kangaroos and wallabies around the streets, and completing the [JUBILEE PARK WALKING TOUR](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/ead2c608-a9f7-40ee-803c-dd6392e5fa40) Adventure Lab in Beaudesert.
With the rain falling heavier, I started to make a beeline towards home, and whilst doing so, the rain lightened whilst I was nearby to this geocache. Given this cache appeared to be quite out of the way, I thought I'd take the adjacent road and make a stop here at the big tree. It was fairly obviously looking at the SPOS where the cache would be, and hence it was a reasonably quick find. I tend to find that these round containers aren't too waterpoof and leak, and consequently, the cache container was wet inside, and the logbook was quite wet and slimy. I do think this cache needs maintenance, and I would suggest a complete container and logbook replacement. Thanks Bar-bq for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Great hide inside container was wet so we cleaned it out and put everything back
I went the long way to gz. Big tree finally spotted. Cache quickly found. Water was tipped out.
Found busted and cracked and wet cache and took it to my car to gather what I could to replace it. Made up a new box and gear coz nothing could be salvaged and as I walked back in I found someone else had already placed a replacement, I just hadn’t seen it yet. So I logged that one, put my replacement I made up back in the car and grabbed the 2 trackables to move along in the next few days. Photo attached is the old Cache
This needs maintenance, looks like something has chewed through the container and bag. Didn’t have anything to replace it with sorry. Very wet too.
Found 31/07/2022 definately needs maintenance
Also watch out for 8 legged friends!

Find #23 for us. This cache has been on our list for ages but we just haven’t got around to it. After reading the previous logs we decided to take a replacement container.
Replaced container and log and dropped off some Travel Bugs so it’s now ready to go again. Happy caching

Quick find but the lid is broken and needs replacing. I didn’t want to stay too long due to the big Private Property sign and the sound of drums from the nearby house. Thanks for the cache
Tftc, Tfth, SL and left some goodies for the next lot geokids and geo adults.

Nice easy find. Was literally just laying on the ground. Needs a bit of maintenance.
Easy find. Wasn’t hidden at all. Broken container. Needs emergent maintenance. TFTC.
The Veloso gang found it!! We were a little confused at first but thrilled to make a find
Found, very kid friendly quick park and grab. Lid has hole repaired with plastic but container will need replacing soon!
Out and about on this beautiful Winter's day to explore Mt. Nebo. Found this little beauty quickly on our way North. TFTC
The kids and I found today, thank you, everything is a bit damp. Have written in log
Another day in the area, a lunchtime find before heading back to the office.
Nice area but as living here would involve a horse I am not keen at all.
Thank you for the hide

Found it but got pulled up by the owner of the property haha. Had to explain why we were there nice guy though
The logbook in this plastic container is saturated. Please replace. Might also need a watertight container. Tftc
Found it, container has a nice large grey gairdian of the eight legged variety on it.
Log was too damp to sign.

I found this one while we were out for a drive today.
There was no sign of the muggle on my previous visit, but as I was heading back to the car after signing the log (logbook in poor condition by the way), the property owner came walking up the road! I'd made it back to the car by the time he got close but didn't get away as he wanted to know what I was up to! So I had to give an explanation of the Geocaching game. I told him there's a geocache hidden at the big tree in front of his property and from time to time people will stop to look for it.
Hopefully I haven't compromised this geocache, but since I was caught in the act I figured honesty would be the best policy [?]
The property owner seemed fine with it being there. Unfortunately though the cache is located quite close to his new gateway. So it's going to be hard to use stealth on this one now.
Thanks for the cache Bar-bq

I found ground zero ok, but realised there was a muggle working on a tractor in the property right behind the cache, and I was being watched!
Rather than expose the cache I decided to leave this one for another time. I'll be back

Found it easily. Forgot our pen so no logging. No dogs barked and no juggles in sight
