Found 5x bottles and cartons dumped by travellers here so thanks for the 50c going to Kokoda challenge fundraising for my friends kiddo! I did a bit of kangaroo hopping myself to snare this one. All is good here!

Out and about today, grabbing some caches around Minlaton and Stansbury. a quick pickup here but no roos today. TFTC

21-Mar-23
I have come over from NZ to visit family and do a lot of caching. I am now on the Yorke Peninsula doing the trails and other caches close by. Have been out here before but there are lots of new caches now. Windy today and not so hot. Not many muggles around today

19-Mar-23
not a fan of metal containers, nice shape of container. found after doing some of the nearby geo art. quick find.
Found with JAMS ( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, Mitchell&hound plus sir_spectre ) crew. Mogni wants to get to 20, 000 by the Rutherglen Mega in Victoria and make that event her 20, 000 th. Targeted so multi's on the way down to get me closer to 1000 multi's, under 15 to go and got another 8 this trip. So we went out to get some parts of the fishing line geo art that some of the JAMS members haven't completed plus the " Crab ", " The Hook " and the " Sea Horse " geo art series plus some extra caches along the way. By request of one of the members of the fishy tales we swapped the logs sheets for new log sheets ( at least 350 ) and we also removed the 10 mint tins we found and replaced them with preform tubes. All containers found eaten, creacked, broken or with out lids were also replaced with the caches supplied bt the fishy tales group. By the end of the trip we had filled 1 and 3/4 quartes of a standard sized medium bin liner bag with log sheets and broken containers ( some containers not of the geo art series ). Only sighted 2 snakes while doing the geo art but i think i walk though at least 3 dozen spider webs. I found a trackable on the ground about 2 meters from the cache while doing the crab geo art, some people need to be more careful when carrying trackables in their pockets while caching. We stayed in Port Vincent over night. I even got my 18, 000 cache find this weekend, that is probably less surprising since i got just under 400 finds for the weekend. A good weekend away was had by all and it wasn't to hot but i wouldn't have wanted it any hotter.

Time for a Wednesday Mystery Tour on the Yorkes.
Ttrogg picked the Rat up from the Rat's nest.
The aim for the our tour was to pickup various caches on our way to Minlaton.
Plus another go at the Gone Fishin' Series.
A quick park and grab. Tftc

01-Feb-23
After picking up the Rat from her nest it was off to the Yorke Peninsula yet again. This time my main aim was a first FTF for the month and then a bit more of a nibble at that long fishing line known as Gone Fishn' plus anything else that needed to be found.
Thanks Rocky Glen Grommets for putting out this cache and thanks to all who have helped with the maintenance.

18-Feb-22
A short stop here today, managed to find the cache nicely hidden and all is well

With 2.5 days free and nothing to do, what better than to head to the yorke peninsula for a few days. I made a plan of trying to clean up majority of the caches on the peninsula going from cache to cache. Managed to come away with only a few left and 247 finds for the few day trip.

Thanks for the cache

Just love the container. We had to wait a little bit to get out of the car as it was a busy day on the road. No skippers we’re seen.

16-Nov-21
The three of us were spending some time on Yorke Peninsula, and today Mr Tardis went out for a caching run between Port Vincent and Minlaton

I'm happy to report that found this cache in the first place I looked - don't you just love it when that happens?

An intersting cache container. There was a happy huntsman spider who's decided to make this cache home.

Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Rocky Glen Grommets.

Coords not working but found it, a variety of critters have made their home in here. TFTC

Today was a mixed day, including some traditional caches. some multi caches and some socialising while visiting a muggle family member, while accompanied by ilook4geo. This was one of the caches we found and all found logs were stamped with both names before moving on to the next one one the list. Thanks go to Rocky Glen Grommets for placing the cache and to Dazzatron/Margieh for maintaining it.
Loved the old container which is one we have not seen before.

I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February. Red Face
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat. Twisted
But with restrictions easing and socially responsible caching again possible it is time to start filling the calendars again. Wink

Day 1 of our holiday on YP. Agenda for today - head into Minlaton to the Chocolaterie for some essential supplies.Wink Maybe Foodland as well and grab any caches that didn't get last visit. Cool
No skippy's crossing today. Oh dear the pipeline was wet from the drizzle today. Twisted Too far to walk around it. You just know I was gonna end up with wet daks. Twisted Anything for that smilie. Smile
Very cute cache container. Razz

Today after a night shift of being "essential" again, I met up with Mr Froghoppin for a drive and a few caches to find. Turned out to be a huge day with a small length of fishin' line and several nearby caches located and logged. Thanks to Mr Frog for doing the driving and making it all happen.
Most caches today were in pretty good condition, with a few needing some TLC and some showing evidence of the recent much appreciated rainfall Razz

We often see skippy on our travels, but no skippy sightings today, only a few bunnies dodging the car !

thanks Rocky Glen Grommets for placing this cache Big Grin

---- Cool ---- Cool ----

2020 - the caching curve has been flat long enough ! ! !
But do keep washing your hands. Exercise. Cache. Eat. Cache. Repeat.
And stay home if you're sick!

Support the regions by placing lots more caches! ( especially around the Barossa please [:o)] )

Epic day of caching. ANZAC day usually means a caching day for me. Had decided on a day of fishing on the YP would be a good way to get some numbers. Today was definitely about numbers as I was attempting to get 300 in a day, something I didn't think I could ever do but having read of a number of teams managing 870 with team work I thought that 300 would be doable on my own. So hatched a plan to get up super early and drive to the YP. Geohusband (who had zero interest in accompanying me on this quest) suggested it would be better to drive to YP the night before, stay in a hotel and then start early. Good idea I thought.
So had driven to Minlaton and camped at the motel there which was surprisingly good and surprisingly cheap. Only downside was forgetting my precious pillow which will now need to be replaced, but that is another story.
Up early and left hotel as the bugles were sounding at the Minlaton dawn service, so stopped for a moment to reflect. Kennedy and Malloy were on the radio interviewing returned servicemen, very moving. This was followed by caches, food, caches, food, caches, football, caches, long drive home. The magpies won an epic ANZAC battle and the Bombers fans booed Scott Pendlebury, how very dare they on such a day too.
Ended up with over 300 finds, brilliant. Long drive home, stopped at Cavan and had tea and then home to shower and bed. Will this feat ever be repeated by me? I say no but never say never!!!
So onto the caches, I mainly found fishing micros but also added in some others to break up the day. I had a bit of a drive between 2 sections of the fishing line which was also nice. The fishing caches became utterly mind numbing. Base of tree, base of tree, base of tree, base of tree, base of tree. Quite a variety of hides, many more mint tins than I was expecting. Was also entertained to find my stamp in 3 of the caches I visited that I had not been to before, but that is leap frog caching for you!!! Hated the caches hidden in rocks, rocks and more rocks. There was also a very tedious section of under bush, under bush, under bush, almost lost the will to live there. No dnfs today which was an added bonus, but as many caches had just been replaced by the last fishers had expected to get them all.
Caches were mainly in good condition, a few perished tubes, a few damp logs.
Not much in the way of humans seen (other than at the Minlaton ANZAC dawn service, a lot of people at that), a few farmers, one truck and one passing muggle. Not much in the way of wildlife either, cows, beasts, sheep, critters.
Weather was glorious and perfect for caching. Started at 7.03am and finished my stint on the YP at 6.15pm, saw the sunrise and the sunset. A day of my life I will never get back but excellent for the statistics!
My thanks to all the COs, especially those behind Fishy Tales and 3LG for all the wonderful buckets on the YP.
Only saw one skippy on my day out he was intrigued as to what I was doing. he watched me for ages before skipping off. TFTC rocky glen grommets

A huge weekend of geocaching with Mary from Aussie M & M. We got ourselves a lovely little cottage in Kadina and made this our base. So many caches and so little time we had to target certain ones that we felt were special enough to get a visit. As per normal we fixed any that needed some love so other could find them after us.
Thanks to Rocky Glen Grommets from mogni Big Grin

10-Mar-19
This cache was one found while on YP looking for older caches that either Mary or mogni had not found. This was a nice easy find and luckily there were no skippys seen here. We did see a few skippys in the early hours of our caching day.

Day 2 of our 4 day geoadventure with Rapidlywild on the Yorke Peninsula. After a good nights rest it was time to check out Port Vincent in the daylight and grab a bite to eat and collect a few smileys around town as well.

We thought this was going to be located in a different spot..a bit of a search around and we soon had the cache in hand.

Well, what a weekend! The FFLL ladies and myself decided to head over to SA to tackle the newest installment of the Fishy Tales caches, the Gone Fishin' series. Having a long weekend presented to us, and a day extra, we had a big task at hand to get them all done, but we did! There were many tears of laughter, exhausted bodies each night, and plenty of caches found. We even managed to score ourselves a few Earthcaches, Virtuals and even Webcams along the way as well as me passing my 10,000 find Big Grin

Fortunately for us, no skippy's were harmed in our Gone Fishin' adventure weekend. We seen a couple, but nothing compared to home in Canberra.

Thanks for the cache hide Rocky Glen Grommets Big Grin and a very special thanks to the FFLL ladies for an awesome fun filled adventure away Big Grin Looking forward to the next adventure.

Holidaying in Minlaton and thought we would go for a drive and pick up some caches in the area. Beautiful day, sun warmer than the temperature rates but a good day to do some caches. The only skippy seen was on the signage. TFTC

Nice quick stop for the cache. SL TFTC

07-Oct-18
Today was a bit warmer and I was concerned about the possibility of encountering ones of the fanged variety. Had only just left home and I had to swerve the car to miss the 1st slithering across the road. This confirmed my suspicion and I was on alert! Surprised By the end of the day I had seen 8, fortunately there were no real close encounters as all sightings were from the car. So I was careful what caches I did and only did ones where I could clearly see the ground. Anything with high grass was bypassed for another day. I had considered going squidding today, in hindsight that would have been a better choice!

No skippy's seen here today! Nice old container Cool

Found with dty73 and youban on our Yorke Peninsula invasion! All logs signed DTY (dty73/Tankengine/youban). - Had a great day today, in that we didn't do any of the power trails! That was a very nice change! So a nice variety and some very nice locations! Thanks!

03-Oct-18
We have a small team travelling to The Yorke Peninsula from Canberra. It was decided by the group before we left that our team name would be DTY, although I act like the boss, I rarely am and so the initials actually stand for - dty73, Tankengine & Youban.

Today the team decided that it was a “tourist day” and we would go have a look around a small part of the peninsula to see what there is. But of course like true geocachers we couldn’t help taking a caching route as we went. We ended up getting a lot more than we expected, but we did have a good time.

Easy parking on the side of the road near this one. It was a straightforward find and we were very surprised at the container as Mr & Mrs Youban have this same container only in a lot better condition. Tftc!!!

Sitting at my computer during these Covid lockdowns, I am trying to catch up on a few logs that I haven't sent in yet.

Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.

Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.

Sorry for the late log, something I am notorious for. Thank you for adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

Thanks Rocky Glen Grommets (F=1257 H=91) for the cache.

We joined forces with alansee, micaparamedic, Phetlern and The Drovers for an assault in this series and after we had finished the Gone Fishin series we settled into exploring this fantastic peninsula using caching as our guide.

There were no skippys around today which we were glad of as we didn't want any close encounters so we have no photo's to add to the gallery.

Many thanks for this enjoyable cache, to save room in the log we signed as Sneecks,
The DroverS,PhetlerN,alansEE,micaparamediC,goodlooK,team crackersS
Unfortunately goodlook was a non starter due to injury but the stickers were already made.

08-Aug-18
After completing the 'Gone Fishn' series, and still in the good company of Team Crackers, micaparamedic, Alansee & Phetlern, we continued on to find a few more caches.

We did a loop to the eastern side of the peninsula, and back to our accommodation in Port Victoria.
This was one of the caches we found along the way.
Signed with either our group name of 'SNEECKS' or The Drovers.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Rocky Glen Grommets, for us and others to find.

The Yorke Peninsula has always been a drawcard for us, with its iconic stone buildings and historic ruins and now of course - countless caches. In the very fine company of Alansee, Micaparamedic, Team Crackers and The Drovers, it was an awesome blast of fun adding some more smiley tokens to our collection.
No skippys today!

Yorke Peninsula Day 4: Last day on the peninsula, so we decided to make a big dint into the fishing line today - up before dawn and collecting caches at a very rapid rate. It ended up being a massive week of 2960 odd kilometers travelled, with day find counts of 25, 256, 361, 318, 66, 205, 104 and 76 (yep thats 1411 for the 8 days)

Found with FUF009.
Based in Minlaton for a few days to have a hack at the Gone Fishn' series, I found 250 caches today. We headed towards Warooka from Minlaton collecting the series and whatever else was along the way.
Once we'd gotten to the bottom of the trail we went around the coast and did whatever else we wanted in our free time.
We found that this section went a lot faster than expected so the extra caches were a bonus.
Highlites of the day for me was collecting 2 years of unloved on a multi and seeing the ocean.
An enjoyable day.
Thanks to all the COs for placing the caches. Nothing was wrong with them unless stated at the start of my log.
The Yorke Peninsula is a marvelous playground for geocachers and indeed we met more than one local along the way who knew what we were up to and very friendly too.
Fabulous.

Very cool - nice placement and great container. A quick and easy find.

Wow, day 3 and it was our biggest day in our caching histories (for both of us actually) - over 320 finds. Couldn't have done it without my bud

Found whilst on the Fabulously Random caching trip with my awesome buddy feathertop - from St Arnaud, Victoria to the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia with many, many random caching stops in between. Big Grin [^] Today we focussed on a few random caches, completing the rest of the geo-art and then on to the Gone Fishn' - another huge day, but most enjoyable with a friend!

Our combined team name whilst on this trip was "Fabulous Randoms" and that is how the 'millions' of log books have been stamped (bar a few with our actual caching names in them).

What a fantastic trip despite me having some GPSr dramas [:(!]....thank goodness for GSAK and being able to manually log finds. We encountered friendly flies, a brown snake up close and personal, hilarious moments, extremely sore muscles, some crazy driving decisions and loads of caches found on this adventure.

Thanks so much for the cache Rocky Glen Grommets! Smile

We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.

We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.

When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now rum out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

8713. A travelling day for Robmc and me as we make our way further south to Sultana Point for a couple of days. Gorgeous scenery again with lush green paddocks and fields of gold. This is such a beautiful time to be over here. We managed to find quite a few caches along the way.

This was a very interesting cache container. I have never seen one of these before. It was however rather rusty and dampish on the inside. I dropped in a Wombat TB I have brought over from Victoria. I thought it might feel at home in this cache.

Thanks. Rocky Glen Grommets

Found at 2:05 PM GAFF1.
Had to go way past it with the van to find a good safe parking spot. No skippys in sight at this time of day.
Thanks Rocky Glen Grommets.
