As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Had a look here with KatMidd. No luck as such, theres a fairly decent spot in the tree at gz. No systema container there though

Hunted for this one yesterday. Found the tree, found the poison trap, but no sign of cache. Recommend CO checks on this one. I think it's been muggled

On a walk around Tauranga from my cruise ship. I thought I had found the cache initially, but despite much fumbling, I couldn't get inside the container to find a logbook. On closer inspection of the cache description I now see I was scrabbling around with the rat poison trap. Hopefully I didn't get too much of the poison on my hands !! It's almost a month on, and I'm still alive

I checked this cache to see if the travel bugs I left were picked up, and see that no one has found it since we were there in December! I sure hope it hasn't been muggled! It was not at ground level when we found it -- it was in a nook a bit below waist high, as I recall, in a small tree. Hopefully, someone locates it and picks up the TB's!

Hunted for a bit but did not find. Our guess is it could've been taken away by the council, mistaking it for rubbish.

We didn't realize we were going to have to do some mountain climbing to get this cache!! But we found the path up the hill and the GPS led us right to the cache. We signed in quickly since there were some park workers nearby and we thought we might get discovered if we took too long. After signing the log, I left two travel bugs (actually one was a geocoin) that I brought down from Canada.

Was at The Mount attempting to get the Webcam to work. This was the next closest. GPS was all over the place. Found the poison and then the cache. Tftc

Found it with gmanham. Was a bit worried about fingers near the trap. Saw the nice small trinket left by the local Mcjandals

A bit difficult in the fading light on a beautiful Friday night. We had to wait for a lone biker that was enjoying the view. A quick find once he had left. You might want to consider moving it as its very close to a bait station. Beautiful views

Wandered up the hill via the steps which was a good way to get the blood pumping. Sighted GZ as we approached and found said trap first then caught a wee glimpse of a similar shape - cache found. TNLNSL. No muffin men about today so that helped. A nice spot with a great view. Thanks for the history and bringing us here OmaGosh. Gets a FP.

Nice hike today from 13th Ave to The Mount. 26 finds in total. But mostly just awesome to be out on such a nice day!

Had been up here two years ago when last in the area for the AIMS Games Hockey but the cache at that time had been muggled. A quick find today between the passing showers, which meant that there were no muggles about. Ensured that the cache was well covered as the bait station will serviced periodically and the container might be spotted. TFTC.

Relatively easy find, found with lid open and the log was a bit damp but still able to write on it and read the other logs. Nicely placed cache! Sweet view

Great Spot- pity about the rat trap!

Well today met up with a bunch of chicky friends, all of which have young babies. Iv never been one for the whole coffee group thing. So whilst sitting around the park talking teething and toilet training, I flicked on my geocache app, was super excited to see a cache very close by. So that was my exscuse to gap it with my 6yr old treasure hunter. But while we are walking up the hill waiting for my location to catch up, miss 6 yells out, "found it mum.". I'm like surly not? But sure enough there it was clutched in her hand. Then even more excitement to find a TB. TFTC cool view.

Lovely area, lots of nice walks. Quick find, and another rat trap nearby, we have found a few caches like this, makes we wonder if there is a cache eating rat around in NZ! TFTC

Out on a numbers mission with HKCB and Iammrwalker to clear out some of the caches in Tauranga/Papamoa area. We left Hamilton at 5am and had a full day of caches, a few DNFs, a refreshing swim in a pond and a whole lot of laughs. We signed logs as 'HI1' as an acronym for our caching names to save log space. Thanks to all the cache owners for the great variety of caches, puzzles and location

Nice to find the spot where the Muffin man lives. A great view from up here too. Been to this playground a few times with the small person but have not ventured up here before. Thanks

Out for a numbers mission in and around The Mount and Papamoa with 11HPG11 and iammrwalker today. With a very early start of 5am agreed on, it was going to be a long day compounded by the All Blacks playing before we left which meant a 3am alarm being set the night before. We all had a great time and a lot of laughs were had in between some frustrating hides, a really enjoyable multi and a couple of great field puzzles. All in all a very successful day with only a handful of DNF's, the weather keeping at bay for most of the day and 86 new smiles added to the map in a little under 13 hours of caching. We signed the cache log "Hi 1" an acronym of our caching names. A big thanks to all the cache owners for placing some great caches.

I decided to take the direct route up to the cache from where we parked but in hind-sight I think it wasn't the best option. Cache was quite visible when at GZ, but I couldn't find anything nearby to make it a little bit more hidden. Thanks for the hide.

Might pay to move this one nearby - it is right next to a poison trap (within 30cm) and my 5y/o who got there first thought the plastic trap was the cache and opened it and handled the poison. Not your fault of course but another nearby tree might serve better... Cheers!

801 After spending a few nights camping at McLaren Falls it was to the Mt for book fair. She had to return to Dargaville so thought I may as well Geocache my way round the Mt then back to Hamilton. Nicely hidden

Here it wasn't so busy as on the big mountain today and not so exhausting as well.
It was my first cache in New Zealand this year.
