Long weekend with Contesta, Kittykatch, Joolay, DTY73, Tankengine, fitzy_1965, and MinnieK with the main goal to finish the SES series. Signing as SHI - Shellharbour Invasion.TFTC
Log book is full and no replacement on me.Looking forward to a warmer weekend enjoying the lovely Wollongong area with Kittykatch, contesta, ispoeda, Tankengine, dty73, fitzy_1965 and minniek. Signing Thanks for getting me out and about The Rats
Tankengine and I drove down from Canberra leaving at 6:30am Saturday morning and joined our friends (Kittykatch, Joolay, contesta, Isopeada, minniek and fitzy_1965) and we had become part of the Shellharbour Invasion Team (SHI). We could only stay one night, so up early Sunday for a quick bite to eat and more caching before we had to leave everyone to head home again. We had a fun time caching, logging many finds and a couple DNFs, enjoyed a lovely dinner at the very busy club at the great event on Saturday night and most of all hanging out with great friends. This cache: Glad we had previous finders with us. Tftc!!!
Shellharbour tripFound with Joolay, minniek, fitzy63, isopeda, contesta, Tanjengine, dty73. Logs signed as Shellharbour Invasion Team (SHI). Found after not too long a search. Thanks for the hide The Rats
Working my way to Canberra for the four day mega event. Meeting up with people along the way and doing a few caches of my own. I got a myself set up for a couple of target caches around Sydney way and the out skirts of town, this was one of them.I was working down the coast before it got to dark to cache on my own. I had a couple of LGA's that I was looking at and a couple of interesting highway parking pulloffs that caught my eye.I struck it lucky here as I did not spend much time looking at all. I quickly signed the log and replaced the cache as found. I was now running a little late for my meet up so had to make a beeline for it.
Caching from WA west coast to ACT for 2 megas. TFTC. That one took me a while. Managed to see it on the third cycle.
Was expecting to be searching for hours but found it in maybe 5-10 mins of searching. Tftc! Only 3 spaces left in the log.
I made a quick find here. I started my search and there it was... after a string of DNFs I needed a nice quick one to boost my ego.TFTC
Surprisingly easy to find. This was our first micro cache! TFTC the Geology Gems
Tftc. Happy I could find this nano. Sun was setting and found quite quickly. Happy days
A quick park and grab. TFTC
We dropped a rock for any NSW rock peeps to find.

Fitzy_1965, Albida33 and I decided to head to the coast for a bit of caching today.....ok the lure of a CCE helped in making that decision.
Have attended a few ICC Christmas Parties so was nice that it was combined as a CCE. We then headed out for caching in the area until we needed to head back up the hill for a CITO before travelling to Canberra for the evening in preparation for another day of caching.
With everyone in the carpark heading over the road to vote, we made use of their distraction and thankfully came up with a quick find.

25,353. Found with minniek and albida33 during a trek to the coast for a Community Celebration Event.
We couldn't miss the opportunity for another Community Celebration Event, so plans were made to head down and spend the day cherry-picking caches around the area. Once we finished at the event plus an Adventure Lab nearby, we headed off, and this cache was on our list as an attempt to finally cross it off. This was a nice quick find surprisingly once we arrived at GZ - Phew !! Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks The Rats !!

Tricky one. Another one ticked off before the tightening of restrictions mean I can’t do this area. TFTC
Such a nice start for my geocaching adventures after having not been in ages. TFTC !
I'm not sure this cache is where it was originally placed. I returned it to where I found it, but it was out in plain sight. TFTC
TFTC. Finally found after the photo from last find. We did find this originally, but didn't think it was it. Great nano idea
Tftc!! Found this one after going through the comments to see what to look for! The one we found was easy to open but hadn’t been signed since 2018! Found with Geomum, geobub & geonephew!
These ones are always very tricky. Was about to give up until I checked a spot I should have checked earlier. TFTC
Found with help from photos from previous cache finders, only one found. Sadly we Couldn't get it open either. TFTC
started caching with my own account with my family. still getting use to the app =)

Hide well.. Thanks
Found it and opened it easily... I think there might be two caches as the one I found differs to the last photo... and the log hasn't been signed since 6/17...
Well Happy Uke and I headed down the coast to russel up some no good dirty caches. Wollongong that is to you folk. There appears to have been a serious outbreak of caches down in the City of Steel so we headed down that way to do our bit to clean up some of the problem.
Well she told me!
This gun is a fine example of a British 25 pounder artillery peice. One of the best artillery pieces from either side in the Second World War and beyond. It was popular in mainly Commonwealth countries. Some were actualy built in Australia and stayed in Australian Army service until the 1970s.
No need to thank us but thanks for the cache!

Found on the way home from a week holiday down the coast with my family. I was travelling the long way with Noodles22 to find some caches.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found on the 11/01/2018 at 3:12:00 PM.
It was the saddest day on our family holiday, the day we had to pack up and go home again. I had Wombat2005 with me and tried to get as many caches on the way home as we could, but only some wanted to be found!
Since Wombat liked the last Gun cache I brought him to this one to help me clear. Even with his help I still needed hints from the logs and gallery.
Unfortunatily neither of us could get the cache to open as the previous finders tightened it too much. I took a photo to show our find.
Thanks for the caches.

Today was a day we added another of these to our collection it was a DNF for us however we managed to find another one to keep the caching streak alive.
Thanks The Rats for your placement however it has illuded us on this occasion.
Grand Cache count = 493 total consisting of 466 Traditionals, 16 Multi, 5 Mystery, 4 Earth and 2 Virtual.

First find of 32 for the day on a big day out with Brewmaker. Why was I the one who had to crawl under the gun?

OCW with MrD today around the Southern Highlands where we managed 32 finds. This was #1 for the day. Took a few minutes, but it was MrD who managed to make the sneaky grab. And you had to crawl under because you are younger than me!
Wow. It helps if you have kids because they are super keen to get into these spots, no way I would have found it without them. There is 2 so we signed both. Check photo for spoiler
A very well maintained gun - new paint, clean and not many bugs. As usual the worst thing about nanos is getting the log paper back in it. There is only a couple of spaces left too. TFTC.
So, Halcyon123 and I had planned to get together with another work colleague and do responsible, organised, grownup worktype things. However, when the colleague messaged this morning to say she was sick and couldn't meet up, we decided that was the perfect excuse to call Happyuke and go geocaching instead!!! Had an awesome day with my lovely friends and even got to visit with Jenna the dog
For our last find of the day, we decided to try for one that had previously eluded all of us. With the roll we were on for the day, we couldn't fail, and Happyuke can up with the goods. Finally!! TFTC

A spur of the moment caching day with Nacki22 and Halcyon123...organised while we were all still in our pj's and I was personally still in bed. Wonderful day, perfect weather, great caches and as always, fantastic company. We found nineteen and I'm still smiling!
This was our last for the day. Yiiiiiippppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! I finally found the little bugger. Finalf29 and I had tried to find this when we were newbies...on an extremely hot day. We spent ages looking and to make it more difficult, every time we touched the canon we burnt ourselves. This time it only took me a minute or so...Halcyon123 had only just got out of her car. The question is...should I tell Finalf29? Favourite point from me. Thanks...That's why I am still smiling!

Third attempt at this and thanks to a team effort (ok, mostly happyuke) we felt around and had CIH within minutes. This was Our final cache on a great day out. Found on a geoday with Nacki22, HappyUke and geodog Jenna.
I have been avoiding this one for a while because I know how difficult it is to find a cache, esp a nano on a field piece or any machinery for that matter.
Today the conditions where right and I parked right next to the **Ordnance Quick Firing 25 pounder** gun. I was fairly well shielded from muggles as I made the search. From my days in the Militia and having had experience on the 25 pounder I was familiar with the layout. Today that didn't help. It was just a case of get around, under etc. Finally I located the cache and did the signing. I only found one cache on the gun today. TFTC The Rats.

Arrrr, pirates usually try to avoid guns this size, but since this one had a treasure or two hidden on it, we decided to check it out, found the little devil just before the rain returned, it was close to the place we are staying at for the next few days.TFTH
While staying at Moss Vale we took a drive out through some of the local area to look at the scenery and grab a few caches. TFTC
Happiest of tail wags here. Knew it had been found recently and had an idea where it might be. Quick find, can cross it off the watchlist now. Thanks, The Rats!!
Well it is another gun with a nano, we didn't hold much hope of finding this one but luck was with us today and we found it very quickly. TFTC. We stopped looking after we found the 1st cache.
