Its time to put this one to bed.

Well, reading everyones logs it appears that all who attended had a great time. I know I certainly did and so did my kids. It was great to catch up with old friends and to meet some new ones. Chuck in a few caches, a campfire and a bit of 4WDriving (maybe more next time) and its always a recipe for a good weekend.
Planning is already underway for the 4x4 weekend some time in the new year...... Can everyone pick up their travellers as I'll be archiving this cache soon. Thanks to all who attended.

A fabulous weekend in an area I had wanted to visit for quite some time...and to find some caches - a bonus! Great company and a great time had by all as we tested man and machine on some of the tracks in the forest. Thanks Rats for the planning and making it happen again.

27-Sep-09
not so much as a first to find as a hard to find... through all that dust.
tagged on the end of what i think was the geocaching 4x4 convoy, but could not tell for all the dust it was throwing up.
I now know where all the red dust came from that blew through our area this last week.

thanks one and all for a great weekend. Both Paige and I had a great time.
and it was an excelent oppotunity to get the new Challenger dirty testing it on a couple of interesting tracks.

can't wait to get back out there now.

What a great weekend and what a lot of fun.
I've never been to the Watagans, so it was a great introduction. I'm sure I'll be up there again.
Thanks The Rats, I had a ball.
It was great to meet a few old friends from around the Sydney caches and a few new friends from the coast.
"Phone a friend" may well be used now when I'm battling to find a cache or two up there Wink
Can't wait for the next one!!!

Thanks Rats for hosting yet another succesful and enjoyable event.
I was actually surprised at the great turnout, considering that it is a bit out of the way. It was great as always to meet and regreet some fellow cachers.
Oh, and thanks also for the great lucky door prize that I won. Sunday was actually my Birthday so it felt like a present as well as a prize. Very generous, thank you again.
Now to go wash the car Wink

2774.

As always a fantastic time, it was great to meet up with the familiar faces again and also meet the new ones for the first time.

We headed out on Friday after work and met up with homedg & co at the Turpentine camping area for a few quiet ales and a bit of a chat. The next day the others arrived and after a bite to eat we had a drive out around a few caches. But once the going got a bit tough I had to leave the big boys to their games...

Thanks Rats for a great weekend, and Molly thanks everyone for their pats and the food last night. She has fallen asleep and does not want to be disturbed for a while as she is well and truly worn out!

T: Caching Buffs Coin.
L: Nothing

Hi all watchers, I have just heard from homedg and he tells me that he has set up in the Turpentine Camp Ground right down the end where there is a small bridge across to the Pines campground. The planned campground is a bit full apparently.

If I can get a GPS point and data service I'll try to get a point on the site tonight.

I intend to come and camp and see if anyone has a spare seat for the 4wding part I will tag along.

To date, the weather is looking reasonable, however it may get a little windy and cold over the weekend.

Apparently, mobile reception is pretty good in the area. I'll have my mobile with me 0411635170 if you need to contact me. Also dropping off a few coins.

The weekend before, no worries, the weekend after, could do, but this weekend doesn't look great.

Damn!

29-Jul-09
This sounds like fun! I have a Suzuki Grand Vitara with a slight lift, when I first bought it I lived near Gosford so it knows the Watagans fairly well. Have explored a lot of tracks around there including the "training" area and some of the steeper more slippery when wet options.

UHF CB equipped as well as a handheld (and can bring along another 2 handhelds from the work truck if people need to borrow one). Recovery gear - snatch strap and shackles, and may have an another old snatch strap around somewhere as well. Plus a jacking plate for the soft stuff.

28-Jul-09
Oh, you've twisted our arm!

We'll be there, with our 80 series and a camper trailer.
We'll also have our furry child with us.

Mrs McPodie has some info from our last trip that we'll forward to you.
