Went to find this cache but the old drive in has now been redeveloped for housing. The cache location is now within private property and has been removed. Owner of property requested that cache be disabled. Thanks
Found at 13:24 on the drive home after the Queensland Mega event with Shonkylogic and Southern Cross Caching
Thanks Freddo the Friendly Frog
Thanks Freddo the Friendly Frog

What did we see? Hmm one wonders who came first the date palm or the pole. Mrs Bee was just the right height for this one.
We headed out with us and harleyjohn to achieve some smileys on some Riverland caches caches. We Left come at 8am we set off through the back road's heading to the kayaking event in Loxton. Three events two states can we do it? We agreed as a group to not cache till we hit loxton. The bees have a new kayak any its the first trip with it attached to the corolla and that posed some logistical and sound issues that we were not prepared for. Geopet Winnie is happy to be out in the car caching again after her caching hiatus.

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" .
Ahh, back in the day.... such wonderful memories of these types of places. We had one in our hometown when the two of us were first dating. We would usually go with another couple and to save money the boys would hide in the boot and wait until dark to be let out. It was always a lot of fun.
Thanks for taking us down memory lane Freddo!

A delicious & leisurely lunch, overlooking the Murray wetland lagoons at Banrock, then it was time for a few more caches on our return trip to Loxton in the Suscoe cachemobile. In Victoria the vast majority of these icons and the surrounding land have long been converted to housing estates.
Thanks to Freddo for the hunt.

Suscoe was headed out for a day of caching wandering eventually to the North West of Loxton in the good company of Phetlern. We had enjoyed a special lunch for Mr.S's birthday and we were continuing the wander around the roads.
This was our 67th find of the day.
It was a beaut day with loads of sunshine, a gentle breeze keeping things pleasant and lots of fun.
A quick find here at the entrance as workers were busy constructing over the fence.

A nicely hidden cache. Found while on a day trip from a nearby camp near Moorook. Tftc Freddo
Still leisurely touring South Australia after the Mega
Another beautiful pre-spring day! Headed out of camp at Plush's bend to explore and see what Geocaching had to offer in this region.
We managed to find some great historical and scenic spots on our tour today. Including the SA's oldest active Geocache.. Woo Hoo.
What a fabulous piece of history. We drove past here yesterday but not looking at the cache page, had no idea. Said to one another that looks like a ................ So today when we read the cache page and sought the cache page we were not surprised indeed. Isn't it a shame these are all disappearing. There is the last in WA just a few km from our home, but we have spend the last 14 years saying we must go................... And of course never did.
Thanks to Freddo for helping us explore this wonderful area. [^]

Duh!! We certainly messed this one up!! Mr Beetle punched in the co-ordinates while I was grabbing the last one. Putting 28 degrees instead of 26 meant we were wandering around a fairly dodgy area where we just couldn't make any sense of the co-ords. One place had pulled a sheet off the fence and the rubbish in their back yard was plain scary. After abandoning the search we returned to the van and realised our mistake. We were never going to find a cache there!!
Off to the proper co-ords and the cache was soon in hand at a place that fitted the cache name perfectly. Note to self: read the description!! Thanks for what turned out to be a simple find in the end.

it looks like it was many years ago when they drove away, nice cache thanks
FurrAngel (Ex MissGG) and I were off on a camping trip to Mildura, and what a better way to break up the drive and do some caching.
Holy CRAP!! was the wind blowing a gale here... and the wind was like ice... and as we arrived at the cache a darn "Flying Rat" flew out of the palm!! I nearly pooped my paints!
Thanks for the cache Freddo

Darknstormy and i were on our way to Mildura for a camping trip, so we put some caches on the list so we could also have some rest stops on the way
I couldnt believe the wind today :0 so strong and we could see the rain rolling in, so we made sure it was a quick stop here today
We had the life scared out of us by a silly pigeon at gz.. Darknstormy almost soiled himself
Thanks Freddo for the cache

TFTC TNLNSL. I actually remember coming to this drive in a lifetime ago!! Sad to see.
Great hide. Kept the kids looking for a while And gave me 5 minutes peace. Lol
After a mega breakfast at the Dorks place it was time to do some caching. This was one we targetted and were able to find. Thanks to Freddo
A quick find. While the cache was still in hand a 4X4 drove into the drive way and stopped. They didn't seem to be watching as I quickly put the cache back. The driver got out and came over. "Are you doing that treasure hunt thing? The one where your use those GPS things?", she asked. We had a bit of a chat and she explained that she and her husband had recently purchased the drive-in and were waiting for council approval to build a house there. She has noticed quite a few cars stop in that drive way! TFTC Freddo!
I remember going to the drive-ins at Mt Gambier and Miicent after the footy as a child. Picnic tea on the lawns if we got there early. Shame family entertainment has changed so much over the past 60 years. TFTC

Well our holidays are coming to an end It was now time to pack up the geomobile with all the camping gear from the Oz Mega and make the minimum 12 hour journey home from Balaklava SA back to Canberra ACT.
Overall travel time was well over 16 hours which involved collecting some caches along the travels. Also managed to get 4 states/territories in 1 day which is a personal best for us
The Oz Mega was amazing and wish it didnt have to end now its back to reality and gotta go back to work, time to save for the NZ Mega next year [^][^]
Thanks to everyone for the caches placed and the people we met along the journey, had the most amazing time

We found your cache today Freddo, we were travelling from Berri to Nuriootpa on another leg of our South Australian adventure. The weather was perfect for caching and we saw some wonderful countryside along the way. Thanks for the hunt.
[Blue]# 8312 Found on the SA leg of our S.K.I.D.R.O. adventure, heading to Berri for a few days.[/Blue]
Not many muggles around and a reasonably quick find along the way.
Thanks for the cache Freddo,

Nice and easy, logs are all wet and no room left to write. Added a piece of paper-needs maintenance
Log book is all wet after rains, no room left to write so added a piece of paper
Working in the Riverland this week at the Berri Hospital SA pathology, and staying at the Barmera Country Club. The Studio Rooms must have recently been renovated, as they were very nice. I thought I might do some more Caching after work today, Sad to see the old drive in in this condition, In 2001 my wife was working in the area for 3 mths supporting IT in the schools and kindies. On the weekends I would come up and visit so of course we went to the drive-in. TFTC

As The X Trailers have now left Adelaide are on their way homeward bound back to Queensland , we seized the opportunity to cache with them before crossing the border homeward bound, we look forward to their return one day, as this is a long way from home we cached till just before midnight, a great time was had by all and after dark the muggles are not a problem and the caches are easy to find. TFTC
Came here when first married and living in the Riverland. Sad when it was gone. Tftc
I'm really glad I done this cache at night. It was quite nostalgic driving out of here late at night, it reminded me of all the good times I had at the drive-in.

A tricky little cache. The hint came in handy.
It's a shame these places are all disappearing as I actually met my wife at the one in Sydney

Found after a bit of searching before the brainwave and a hint helped. Cache then quick in hand signed and on our way after a long weekend at the country soccer championships in Barmera. Sad to see another country drive in closed down. TFTC Freddo. SL
Found on an early morning cycle from the caravan park by the lake. Staying for the Country Soccer Championships, and our Adelaide Hills Team came second - yay!! Great to hear more of the history of this area - thanks. Had to hunt a bit for the cache before the penny dropped I thought Froggy was from the Adelaide Hills...isn't this a bit far from home? Thanks for the cache.
On a lovely day decided to reminisce slightly on some pastimes, goodness had some good times here! Had already pondered with dm where it might be, and managed to snag it walking up to the site, thanks for bringing us back here once again! TFTC!
SLTNLN, Cache #45.
SLTNLN, Cache #45.
A few caches as we head east towards home after a trip to Adelaide and Wynarka.
Soooo cold and windy here...no wonder they left!
The land has been sold. I wonder what will be here next. Looking around, a housing estate I bet!

I have been to this drive in before, although I cant recall the films.
Collected on way home from dropping off my Rasher.
Hoping the car across the road coming out the driveway didnt pay me too much attention.
