A fresh map for a fresh year…
Missing caches has been a topic of conversation recently. To rectify this, I manually checked every cache listing within 70km from home – for caches that needed “Needs Maintenance” or “Needs Archive” logs. I found that there are quite a few caches that needed attention from their respective owners or the local community volunteer reviewers. Now one month on, I’ve gone back through my bookmarked list to check on the status of the said caches.
Unfortunately posting a Needs Archived log due to lack of maintenance.
It is likely that this cache hasn't been found since 13th July, 2017 - and has a string of DNFs.
Ground Zero has gone through some changes - the seats where the cache should be have been cut down. The local staff have also confirmed it is missing.
A Needs Maintenance Log was posted 28th November.
No response from CO.
No action has been taken to maintain this cache.

Spoke to the staff at the oyster place. It's gone and the seats have been cut down. Needs maintenance or archiving.
The young lass was happy to talk about the family business and tell us where to find good fish and chips.
Thanks bbayjohn.

Being the only people here other than the lady at the shop, made the search a little hard. My iPhone had me 18mtrs away so it wasn't until walking back towards the shop that I saw the cache hanging. Tftc bbayjohn!!!
Found on a one month road trip around Australia. No thanks, don't want any oysters today. No, really, I don't want any! TNLNSL TFTC
Found with nissan 65 . Staying down south for a few days caching. Thankyou for the cache
Quick walk to gz located cache with cullum68 log signed and placed back thanks for the cache
Oysters are not quite my cup of tea - being a child of the mountains... but nevertheless it was a nice spot to come to, especially with such a great sunset.
Thanks a lot for the hide, bbayjohn!
Thanks a lot for the hide, bbayjohn!
Enjoyed the drive around today.
People in the shop were very friendly and when I said I was here for the geocache they said they thought it was gone. However a quick look found it in very good condition.
Brought a dozen oysters to enjoy.
Thanks for bringing me here bbayjohn.

Looking back across the river to where we had just been we were soon signing the log. Unfortunately we couldn't get any oysters doe to recent heavy rains. Kutgw
My first cache find of the year. Had to make it an easy one after the night before.
So that's what oysters look like... I'm sure I've blown a few of those into my handkerchief before. Not sure why people eat them!
Cache was an easy find, even with some people dining on those boogers nearby. They must have been concentrating on not throwing them back up to even notice me doing the log duties.
Thanks for the cache.

In all my times at the Bay, I've never been to this awesome spot before. Will be back later for oysters. Thank you
We were on our way through but had a stop for lunch. We didn't want to go without finding at least one cache. TFTC from Germany.
Found on my way back up the hill after a caching & beach day. Arrived after closing time unfortunately. Met a couple of young fellows using the pier for fishing. Found the container fairly easily after reading logs. Managed to retrieve & replace without the lads noticing. Had to take photo as proof as lousy pen wouldn't work on this log type.

Were back from a great trip on one of the house boats and decided to grab this one before heading off. TFTC
Up grabbing a few early morning caches before too many muggles and before the busiess was open. This was a quick find as the rain was falling. Will have to return later to pick up some oysters, so thanks for bringing me here.
Thanks bbayjohn for placing & maintaining the cache for us to find.

Nice quick find with a beautiful view. I'm surprised the container doesn't get muggled as it's quite visible. TFTC!
2:45pm 19/6 - on our way home from the grandfrogs. A nice easy find in the rain, with the added bonus of lots of muddy puddles for the youngest tadpole to jump in. Mr Froggycache LOOOVES his oysters, so he was very jealous he wasn't around to help find this one.
TFTC bbayjohn.

Talked to the owners of the shops and they havent seen the cache for some time and they even helped me look, they knew what it looked like and couldnt find it. They mentioned that their duaghter/granddaughter checks to see if it has been put back in the right spot as it apprently moves around quite a bit... So some maintenance might be in order...
Had a good look at the places matching the hint, but eventually the need to get home became more important than finding this one.
Found on a caching stop-off trip on the way back to Canberra from dropping off Venturers at Coast Venture at Lake Tabourie. Wow, jagged the timing on this find. At 0540 in the morning there wasn't anyone around to disturb what ended up being a fairly detailed searched until a tell tale indicator was spotted and after finding a tool to assist the extraction, the cache log was initialled! What a great spot for a cache worthy of a favourite point.
Cheers

Haha great cache spotted it then tried to get the girl friend to take it of haha thanks for the cache!!
Found it with howjen567. Nice area, shame we didn't have time to drop a line in. TFTC
Was concerned a little about nearby muggles but it turned out they knew what we were doing so the searching became easier after all. Lovely spot here but we didn't try the Oysters I'm sorry to say.
I stayed in Batemans Bay last night after driving from Canberra via a coastal route home to Melbourne. I had time for a few caches before continuing to my next destination of Merimbula.
I parked in the nearby carpark and wandered over to GZ. There was a muggle family eating lunch at one of the picnic tables so I sat on the seat that my GPSr said was closest to the cache and tried not to look too suspicious. [8)] One of the muggles suddenly asked me if I was looking for the cache. They said that they knew where it was as they worked there. With remarks of 'warm' and 'hot' and lots of laughter I searched for the cache and soon received lots of congratulations when I actually found the cache, a camo I have seen a few times in my short caching career. I signed the log at 2:10 pm and took a few photos of the glorious river view before heading off. TNLN.
Thanks bbayjohn for the fun hide and for bringing me to such a picturesque location. I didn't buy any oysters as I had nowhere to store them.

Found this cache today while on a day trip to the coast with Ambi666 Found a few caches along the way, and also a couple in Batemans Bay.
HUGE THANK YOU to the owners of the Oyster shop for helping us with this cache. I looked alone for ages in every possible spot but came empty handed. Turns out the cache had fallen off into the grass and was a bit hidden in the grass
The owner found it however and helped me put it back in the correct place. Should be all good to go again!

Sad. No oysters. It's closed on Tuesdays. And could not find the cache. Even using the clue. Pout
very wet log.too wet to log find so we placed some dry paper in so we could log find.tftc [D:]
Sorry I found this one a little while ago and forgot to log it so now I'm having to play catch up with all my logs. TFTC Found with Scruffyblake, The S's and Me_To
Seen this type of container before. Log sheet was damp and managed to write a TD onbit
Luckily it was closed on Tuesday! Seen a couple of these containers before. Another family pulled up as we were leaving, more cachers? who knows!
The first find of the day while on holidays in Bateman's Bay. My friend and I decided to go out for an early walk to this cache. It was not too far away so we just strolled over to GZ. There was no one around today so that made the search at GZ easier. I had a guess at what the cache was going to be based on previous logs. Once we arrived at GZ, the cache was located fairly quickly by my friend as it wasn't hidden too well. I am surprised it has survived this long! The log was pretty damp but I somehow managed to etch my initials in the logbook. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC bbayjohn!
This guy was not on our list today but as it was close by we just had to have a look and again the NGW spotted it while looking from the right angle.
Thanks again bbayjohn for bringing us down here.
Very quiet today being Monday and nobody around, ideal time to visit.

Interesting find - have seen these caches in pictures, but not in real life! Beautiful place. TFTC
Great container. Took a while to get the log out. Bought some oysters while I was here. TFTC.
