Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we had been staying at Twizel & enjoying the nice weather & the fantastic scenery but it was time to move on, with these two caches being on the way to our next destination the area was quite busy today when we visited, but it still turned out to be, more-or-less, a quick and easy find, logbook signed & cache was returned as found I was trying to see if I could get a photo of the 3 x 17 signs, but from my vantage point there were on 2, Twizel & Omarama, with Lake Ohau not having a distance on it were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,549 for us!
Stopped here to grab this cache before continuing on to Wanaka. Interesting kms alright. Tftc
I did wonder the meaning of 17,17, 17 but I understood when we arrived at GZ. And so 7 days after returning home from a five month trip to the UK and Europe, I am off on another trip. This time its within New Zealand as Itchyfeet2020 and I are on our mega road trip to Dunedin. We are focussing on particular caches for various challenges, as well as having a great lot of fun and seeing the scenery in our wonderful land. -LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!!On May 3rd, 2025, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in Rotorua, New Zealand with a special Block Party event. Join us to celebrate 25 years of this amazing game, and that the very first geocache hidden outside of the United States, 25 years ago, was hidden here in New Zealand. You do not want to miss this event, so check out the "[GCAKR25](https://coord.info/GCAKR25) 25 Years of Geocaching NZ! event page, the [event website](http://25years.geocache.nz/) for more details, join the [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/924894455969387) group, and sign up to the [email list](http://25years.geocache.nz/?p=4) to get updates...If you intend to come, please make sure you get your "Will Attend" log onto the page as soon as you can in order to assist with planning the first ever Block Party in New Zealand.-
NZ_B and I are on a road trip to the Geo Toroa Mega and back. I'm also aiming for a multi every day, so it is now titled the "Mega Multi Road Trip." Today is Day 12 from Queenstown to Lake Tekapo. This was a fun cache and location on our travels. Nicely done. Thank you, MandzNz, for the fun on our journey. It's nice to have a trip where, alongside targeted caches, we also take time to find one's on a whim or ones that take a bit longer. We have all day and the caches are calling...
Day 8, and the last full day of our NZ mega mega holiday with The_Tritonz: Twizel to Cromwell via Mount Cook.A nice quick park n grab, on our way to Omarama after an exhilarating morning that included a helicopter flight to the Liebig Dome and a visit to the Mount Cook Visitor Centre. TFTC MandzNZ.
On an overseas adventure in the company of chooknchunk we explored this wondrous country enjoying all the locations each and every cache took us to.Today we explored Mt Cook and oh, what an experience. Our first stop was a 40 minute helicopter flight which was just amazing, then coffee and then caching.Heading back to Cromwell now we are experiencing some more lovely locations with geocaches. Thanks MandzNZ for the placement.
A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in on Saturday after a bit of a delay. After a great look around Mount Cook yesterday and an over night stay in Twizel its time to head to Oamaru for tonight. So Day 5 of my Mega NZ trip begins and Im on my own again so lets go find a few more caches along the way.Up early as per usual and after a nice drive around Twizel and my morning coffee it was time to hit the road again. An interesting sign and you dont get matching numbers very often.Cache was soon located and I added my name to the log. Thanks MandzNZ TFTC.
Love the numbers didnt love banging my head, even though I had just read not to
Sunny and windy day. On our trip frim Aoraki to Omaharu. Greetings from Finland. TFTC
Day 14 of our roadtrip around the south island with Blue Jay. Today we drove from Omarama to Twizel, doing a tour of the Clay Cliffs and picking up caches along the way. TFTC. Toffee Man.
Good spot of the 17s. Nice cache. We also acknowledge the traditional custodians of New Zealand / Aoteroa, as we geocache throughout their land while on holiday. Thanks for showing us this place, & for placing and maintaining this cache. The is our playground
Just getting around to logging the caches I found while visiting New Zealand from the U.S. with LaFavorite Cacher. We had a great time traveling around the country seeing the sights and picking up some caches along the way.We loved the hike. Any geocaches we found were a bonus. Thank you for being a part of our adventures!Note: LaFavorite Cacher has sent in the answers for any earthcaches or virtuals required for both of us.
GeoJayne and I made our way from Lake Tekapo to Mt Cook and then on to Wanaka. It was a beautiful, sunshiny day. We didn't get as early a start as we would have liked because I hoped to see a sunrise. Nope. No luck there. That meant we made our way to the Hooker Valley Track later than we would have liked so we spent time with hundreds of new friends! LOLAfter completing the hike, we made our way to Wnaka. We stopped for several caches along the way. I may or may not have missed at least one sight we wanted to take in, but I am going to use my exhaustion as an excuse. After finding safe parking a little past the cache, we walked back to this one. It was so WELL DONE. Dropping a favorite point. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!
Auf der verzweifelten Suche nach einem leckeren Brot noch diesen Cache aufgesprt. Der Hunger trieb uns aber schnell weiter... tftc!
Quick find on the way to the Omarama Clay Cliffs after lunching at High Country Salmon with Roomar_S while on our quick roadtrip from Aus. Nice and easy find and great views. Tftc!
Neat hide. Turned over a few rocks further back before spotting the actual spot. TFTC.
Very cool P&G, nice and easy to find with a very cool sign on top. Ziploc bag is ripped, but container is still waterproof. Very cool sign on top too. Thanks

Day 9: Across the Lindis PassThe route for today brought us back to close the big loop of our Southern journey by passing through Omarama and the Lindis Pass and back into Cromwell where we stayed the night. This would be my first trip across the Pass and we found many caches along the way, including the highlight of the day at the Bendigo Historic Reserve. Thanks for all of the caches along the route!(End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for the cache:Interesting find on the way to Omarama and I was wondering what could have made this cache so popular and filled with FPs. Suffice to say, I did a check for the usuals first before being blown away by the actual hide. Wow, that must have taken quite some effort - brilliant hide here! TFTC!
On the way back to Dunedin, thanks for the first cache of the day. Make sure to keep low and protect your head
23/9/2023 Find #6597Day 15 of the Fangsoki/1MinnieMoo New Zealand South Island adventure. We were supposed to head from Queenstown to Haast and Franz Josef today however the pass was closed, so we headed up to Wanaka and then across to Christchurch for the night. To break up the drive a little, we stopped at just a couple of caches on the way. A quick pull up and as Fangsoki minded the vehicle having found this one before, I dashed over and dig through the snow to make my find. Thanks for the cache MandzNZ.
Thanks for placing this very interesting cache. We can see why it has so many favourite points.
Quick stop and grab here on the way past. Nice hide on a very busy road. The parking area nearby was much appreciated. TFTC
Grabbing another cache that works for the 300minutes of the SI challenge. Great hide, thanks!

Very cool little spot. Thankfully kept the warning in mind to watch our heads, TFTC!
Day 3 on our holiday in New Zealand. On the way from Twizel to Te Anau, we also visited this traditional cache, searched the box, found it, and signed the logbook

This cache has now been replaced in its original position. It had obviously washed away in recent flooding in this area.
Geo-Roadtrip in the South Island with TrinityNZ and JustlookingOO to collect some PWGT's and as many other caches as we can.
This cache was put on the list due to the high amount of favourite points. Unfortunately it looks like all the extreme weather recently has washed away any cache that was here.
It was however a nice spot to stop an stretch our legs for a moment, and take some awesome photos, even though it was incredibly windy!!!

Could not find today - from the flattened grass, it looks like there may have been some flooding in this area and the cache has possibly washed away.
A quick find here today in between lots of passing muggle vehicles. tftc Now off to explore Lake Ohau
1564. 2:55 pm. I could tell the rest of the crew was getting tired of the geocaching stops and detours but 17,17,17 presented a cool idea and photo op. Found on the 17th with eKitten, GRAkiWi, Li0npaw and Jenryellea. Signed kanoe GeLj. TFT(17)C.
