I had come down to Phillip Island today to join the **Time to plant again!** CITO followed by **A well earned lunch** event. After lunch it was time to cache before heading home... and I came to Churchill Island because I wanted to complete the Virtual cache near the bridge for a challenge that I am working on. Also needing a Multi today for a different challenge that I am also working on, I stopped off for this one. The required information was easy enough to collect... and the cache itself was a lot closer than I expected it to be. Thanks **Gonefishen07** for keeping this old cache by **hell+back** going.
A lovely day to get out and about. Started with closest to home for the adventure lab driving journey then headed towards Phillip Island to clear some more down there. Thanks hell+back for adding your cache and to Gonefishen07 for maintaining a long time cache. Regardskbucky
I had intended to find the caches on Churhill Island and surrounds but it turns out it closes early in the winter which left me with too little time. I had to be satisfied just with this one. A quick scan of the irem at the posted coordinates and a little figuring gave me a likely gz. I set off and soon had the cache in hand. Very enjoyable. Every now and then i find it very therapeutic to skive off from what i really should be doing to enjoy some time in nature, walking, exploring, adventuring, or just being. These days, of course, that also includes geocaching. I was feeling a bit inundated and decided to head for the coast for a sea change, at least for a few days. Phillip Island has long been a favourite so i hit the road and after a busy drive through the city i finally arrive on the island and immediately felt myself beginning to relax. When i was young i enjoyed quite a few family holidays down here and some of my happiest memories were created on splendid days exploring the beaches and rocky coasts. I will certainly find some geocaches while im here but i will probably spend more time just walking and sight seeing i think. Stephen is find number 3,699 for me. A fun small sized multi-cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Bass Coast Shire. I am logging this one on Tuesday 23 July 2024 at 7:12 pm and the weather is Overcast Clouds 14C 62% 10 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy Gonefishen07.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
A great little three stage multi (stage 3 is when you re-trace your steps in the dark to find where you dropped the car keys!). Alls well that ends well though. TFTC and adventure.
Find 3309Parked the car closely and went to posted coordinates to get the info. The cals were done and made a pleasant stroll to GZ.On approach I was drawn to a location. the cache was there and th log signed. and returned. Thanks for another cache Gonefishen07
Great walk today on a day with sunshine and no wind, we think the dog is getting a tad disgusted that she cant go on all the walks, but hey someone had to guard the car haha. Thanks gonefishen for the cache and a mathematics excercise. TNLNSL
Coming back from walking the loop and stopped for this before checking out the chocolate factory. Nice short walk and hide thanks Gonefishen07
Found while touring along the Great Ocean Road after crossing the ferry from Queescliff to Sorento and staying at San Remo for the night. Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07!
TFTC! 7 November 2023 6:21:38 pm 6377A quick stop, and calculation. Then a nice pleasant walk! Thanks!
What a great name for a cache!
We performed the necessary calculations and after a short stroll, we found the container safely tucked in there.
Thanks hell+back and Gonefishen07 for placing this cache here and showing us this area.

My first multi had the wrong coordinates to begin with. Then when I tried again and widened m search- quick and easy find. Tftc
Initially we made a mistake with one of the numbers, but after realising our mistake we made the find quite quickly. TFTC!
Took the unlove here. Since I found Paul ,I came back today to find Stephen.
This is a budget multi with interest , not too hard clues and a decent sized cache.
Thanks Gonefishen07 and hell+back for the cache - all in good order. Dry log

buhfuhguh and I headed down to the Bass Coast today for some caching adventures that we initially thought would take us to Corinella, but after a distinct lack of finds over that way, ended up delivering us to Phillip Island.A slightly impromptu, but nonetheless lovely, walk around Cape Woolamai was enjoyed, as well as a few other caches of interest around the place that we picked up as we saw fit.Always read the plaque! We had no issues with stopping here and collecting the required numbers following a perusal of the plaque.A short walk to gz and the cache was found quickly by the giant so our names could be added to the logbook. Thanks to hell+back for placing this cache, and Gonefishen07 for keeping it going!

With the sun out and Brain and myself out enjoying our walk around the Cape (too which I very much got sunburnt) we happily enjoyed collecting all the caches in the area. With no real issues during the trip as a whole we enjoyed exploring this island a bit before the tourist begin swarming the island for the summer. Thanks for the cache and the little adventure.

We decided to gather together a few caches while on Phillip Island playing tourist with goingplaces2. This was a good easy one to find and the formalities were soon completed and we were on the move again. TFTC.
Spent a bit of time on Phillip Island and picked out a few caches to look for with ilook4geo. We have been here before but this time visited different places. This was a nice easy multi to solve and the container was soon brought to light. Both names were added to the log and then it was back to the car to go hunting for a few more caches. Thanks go to Gonefishen07 for adopting and maintaining this cache.
This was a straightforward multi. We had a chat to some park rangers as they were about to leave the area before we made a quick find. Thanks to bell+back/Gonefishen07 for the cache.
Motorcycle races are on at Phillip Island today so over a coffee with Kashbound initially plans had to be changed. This multi became first on our list to tackle, it probably took longer to work out what the questions were asking than to locate the cache but that's ok. What wasn't OK was the massive hungry mozzie in the area am hoping that I sprayed enough aero to keep them from biting.
Today started with meeting tiz13 at San remo bakery for a coffee and new itinerary for the day as we got ourselves caught up in a motorcycle race at the island and decided to start here we quickly worked out a plausible direction and headed off to a very peaceful and quiet location and made a quick find tiz getting the honors here 1-0 TFTC

The weather has been beautiful all week, but that's about to change. It's already blowing a gale, and apparently the whole East coast is going to cop one heck of a soaking.
Until then...
After a drive off the island for some challenge caches and a few others nearby, the rain has held off, so once back over the bridge I headed for another, smaller bridge, and a smaller island.
But first, this multi.
Ah... Probably the most uncontroversial appointee to that post by one of the most controversial in theirs.
A neat, quick multi. All in good nick.
Thanks, hell+back and Gonefishen07.

GeoP & CharmedKat73 are on a girls weekend plus some side caches. We thought this one might be easy enough for a quick cache. After a few wrong calculations we had co-ords that looked ok. Short walk and a bit of a search. CharmedKat73 had a very close encounter with a slithery sun baker. That slowed our search and we refocused…. A few minutes later GeoP found well away from our new friend.

I kinda had to get this one given it’s my first name spelt incorrectly. Once the clues were gathered it was a shorter walk than in thought it would be to get to the prize. tftc
We obviously made a mistake somewhere as the coordinates seemed to take us into private land? We will try again sometime.
While following the 2022 Great Victorian Cache Crawl from Phillip Island to Queenscliff (a 600km roundtrip) I did a few caches between events.
After the first event here on Phillip Island I did the Churchill Island parkrun and then looked for a few caches.
This was a simple multi which was quickly found.
Thanks, Gonefishen07.
As it turns out I took too long around here and missed the second event at Lang Lang...

We got as far as the bridge to Churchill Island before turning back. I think I went over there with the family. We'd been working thought the virtual cache nearly then stopped to look for Stephen.
A quick solve then on to GZ. Missed the cache on the first look but came back a minute later and spotted it.

We added this one as a last minute and grabbed it as we were leaving the area, it took a couple of looks to find this one.
This was a long weekend of caching that we had planned to take toolman on with us when he had recovered from what his doctor call a 'tune-up' but due to a delay here and a setback there all he could manage was a catch up over coffee on Saturday morning, it's been a while so it was nice to just have a chat. In the end it was a Friday to Monday trip where myself and goose searched for a small amount of caches to help fill a few of our grids, it was a few days of mixed weather but we still had a good caching trip, thanks to all the COs.
Thanks for the cache.

During one trip to Churchill Island many years ago, I took a photo of the required plaque. I didn't have the time to solve then and there, so I just solved it at home.
It has taken many years but after caching at Kitty Miller Bay, I had just enough time for 1 more cache. Parked at the location I had planned, and had a nice quick stroll to the GZ and quickly found it.
Thanks for the cache Hell Back and Gone Fishen 07

My first full day on the island where most of the day was spent in the east and southern parts. Part of the time i was caching and some of the time i was just playing tourist. The morning began on Churchill Island where I added 4 smiles and a frown as well as enjoying a spectacular walk and seeing various birds and animals This little multi was a great way to start the day TFTC Gonefishin07

While visiting the Island for a few days I had a couple of opportunities to find a cache or two.
This was the first time i'd visited Churchill Island. We planned to spend a couple of hours here, but it turned into a whole day with perfect weather.
A quick stop to jump out and read the sign, but I was invaded by mozzies the size of humming Birds. I took a quick photo and returned to the car only to find they followed and the pic was no use. back out to the sign, then to GZ were a quick find was made.
Log signed and replaced as found.

We are having a holiday in Phillip Island this week. The rain has cleared so it was an opportunity to get out and do a bit of exploring, even though it was very wet under foot.
Stopped off and grabbed what was needed to get some likely co-rds. Wandered in to make a quick find at GZ. Will come back with the bikes when we are back in the area.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play

On the way out to Churchill Island with n0w0rries. Stopped off to have a look for Stephen on our way past.
With the information gathered and final calculated it was an easy find at GZ.
The cache was on the ground, out in the open below the obvious hiding place.
Signed and replaced with some natural cover.

Ah we all love and short multi. I though about going for the long ride to collect the others but not today.
Our last morning on the Island and we couldn’t go pass this multi, as the name of this cache is the same as the other half of this team. Thanks to the clue, no problem locating the goods.

Well this was one of those funny stories where I did the calculations and the result did not seem right then I tried again and the result looked more likely till I got there and was standing in an open field and no way the hint worked with it so decided to head back to the car and came across a likely hide but was surprised by the cache guardian. He was on the cache along with a white egg pouch so I quickly dropped the cache cause he is huge. Once my heart slowed I was able to retrieve the cache and confirm it was the one I was looking for. Hopefully left the cache guardian out by not sure he may return. Please see the photo.

I found this cache, and quickl.y. Final day of our long weekend on Phillip Island, in the company of quiet1_au and GJMMelb. TFTC
The last on the island for lochb, G&J of GJMMelb and I, we had a little non-caching fun at the Antarctic Centre then tackled the easier caches around the Nobbies area whilst making our way back to the mainland. lochb and I headed off while J struggled to get service IIRC so we stopped off to have a go at this cache. The cache was found without much trouble by lochb and we headed back to the car to meet up with GJMMelb again. I'd hoped to have a go at the cache on the bridge but we were running out of Island time so that's (another) one for our next visit... TFTC
Another day and another adventure was the plan for DAB and I. We were off to visit the Island to cache the day away. We left at the crack of dawn with a car filled of snacks, drinks and supplies. We had a target list of caches and did well completing them with a few DNF's for the day. A great day out with good company!
We got the details for this one on the way in. We were happy with the numbers and set off to make a find. We were worried that we were searching in the wrong location as we didn't find anything that the clue had suggested. It was when we walked back up the hill a little and found the cache container just sitting on the ground? We looked at each other and wondered why. Oh well, we signed and replaced where we found it but with a bit of natural covering for it.
**Thanks for hiding this cache Gonefishen07 for us to find and enjoy**

With a bit of time off work this week, it was easy decision to fill in some time with geocaching. After some messaging to and fro, myself and Na'wal decide on Phillip Island. I had cached here years ago, so I was very keen to return here once again. We hit the road nice and early and had an enjoyable trip up from Geelong. It turned out to be a great day and we were spoiled with great scenery everywhere we looked.
We are glad we did these caches before the peak tourist time. I imagine it would get very busy here over summer. Thanks to all of the CO's for their effort in placing and maintaining these hides. TFTC Gonefishen07

I'd headed to Melbourne on the 5th May for a weekend stay to see Priscilla: Queen of the Desert
Instead there was a mammoth change in my plans when the Corolla suddenly needed new brakes [xx(] which led to needing new tyres [^] which led to needing a new wheel bearing [xx(]
So a weekend turned into almost 3 full weeks and my HUGE thanks to the very patient and tolerant kmace who not only provided accommodation for myself but also for Rex [:X][:X]
Having your home invaded by a rabid geocacher who gets irritated when they have no car to go and find caches because it is in the workshop [xx(] and a pup who shreds his toys all over the house is not an easy ask for a day or two: let alone 20 odd days! [:X]
Rex also loved the beaches and the seagulls so there were many walks on the beach, some in pouring rain and gusting winds but that's what being a dog owner is about [^]
During this time some fantastic caches were found and some adventures occurred [^]
My thanks to all of the COs for the fun and the finds [^]
Today, the 14th day of the trip, was going to be my 1st ever visit to Phillip Island and in one way, it was!
I didn't get to the Grand Prix track nor to the library cache at Cowes but I guess that just gives me a reason to come back again another day and I did at least find a few caches on PI [^]
kmace, Rex and I had left her place in the morning knowing that we had to be back at a railway station in the early afternoon. That was about when things like geocaching and massive downpours happened to the time frames and suddenly it was time to leave PI to head for a train
Not before a visit to the chocolate factory though and I highly recommend their hot chilli chocolate on a cold and rainy day! [^]
The journey to and from PI provided 14 cache finds and the opportunity to start working on an EC with a few WPs to visit.
Did anyone else have the Alice Cooper song playing in their head for ages after this cache[?] OK, I know the song is spelled differently but....
Saw the plaque, made the find and left again: still singing 'Steeeeven'

Touring the Island with weather this perfect makes caching so enjoyable. Drove through this way a few weekends ago but as it was raining then I only gathered the needed info. Having returned today with a GZ solution, it was only a matter of the journey needed from the road. Even easier was the find as the cache was sun-baking on the ground, totally exposed to all. With the contents and log intact I added our scroll and returned it to the hide is should have resided. TNLNSL. TFTC. KKams

We absolutely suck at multis. Ask geohubby if he wanted to give it a go and I hinted a slight negative tone but we did it anyway and yay finally found one tftc
A quick find on our way onto Churchill Island for a walk on a sunny winter's day. TFTC.
Took advantage of the sunny morning to visit Churchill Island with the family for a spot of caching. Established the coordinates then took the short stroll to GZ where we signed the log. TFTC.
After sampling the chocolates at the nearby Chocolate Factory, we figured we had just enough time for a quick look at Churchill Island before the gates closed. Stopped by this short multi on the way in. Missed a claim for unloved by one day (182 days) - oh well, we weren't going to not do the cache because of this. TFTC Hell+Back and Gonefishen07.
Fishers wetlands and Churchill Island are two of my favourite birdwatching places. It's always a pleasure to walk around here. Tftc.
Apologies for the late logging
Down on the Island for a couple of days with Bogonghazy and decided today was a good day for caching. It was my first 'real' trip doing multiple caches
A quick little multi with simple numbers and a short walk to GZ.
Thanks again GF07 & HellandBack

Down on the Island for a couple of days with Leetalicious and decided today was a good day for caching as the surf was a little small for us today.

With the great weather, we decided to drive to Phillip Island for a day of caching.
We were not disappointed as there was a good variety of cache hides and containers.
which kept us busy all day. We also had the pleasure of meeting 2 other teams on our travels.
Thanks to all the owners, for the effort that you put into the construction and the hides.
Many thanks for placing this cache, hell+back, for us and others to find.

Find #1740
Stemicmitsar and I again headed for San Remo just as we had done a fortnight ago. This time however was to be different. We made it.
As this cache shares my caching partner's name, we couldn't leave the island without finding it. We read the information at the start and calculated GZ. hmmm, that can't be right. Check our counting again. Ah, there's the problem! With a new GZ calculated we headed off on foot and the cache was quickly found. I think I was signing the log just as Steve arrived at GZ with me being out of the starting blocks with the speed of a startled Gazelle. SL TFTC

Found @ 10:22pm, find # 3915.
Out and about on the hunt for caches with biggles1024, this one was found.
After attempting to get to San Remo a couple of weeks back, we tried again and made it this time and then headed over the bridge for a few more caches.
As this one is self titled we had to stop for a look, we headed for the posted coordinates, found the information needed and calculated GZ, time for a re-think, it was possible but unlikely.
After some new calculations we were back on track but my GPSr had crashed so while I was waiting for it to load, Mark had already headed off, I abandoned my GPS and headed towards Marks torch light, I arrived at GZ as Mark was signing the log.
Thanks to hell+back for placing this cache.

Decided to go do a little hunting while my geocaching friend grandson had a nap. Rainy cold day but eager to find this one. Our coordinates were slightly off the beaten track but found after a bit of hunting! Good hide! tftc
On a visit to the island with jugs of fun headed to this little island in pouring rain but managed to find this one tftc

In the area and had the opportunity to do a couple of multi's so we put this one on the agenda as well. Pretty straight forward - yes??......well sort of. Gathered the required info and headed off to GZ which had us stumped. We looked and looked then started to wonder if we wrote something down wrong. Anyway we decided to call it defeat and head back to the car. Don't know what it was that made me look in a spot that looked 'geocache worthy' and BINGO there it was Thanks for the fun 'hell+back'
We had a day trip to Phillip Island, Hubby wanted to see where the V8s raced & I was more interested in the penguins. We saw some great sea views, visited the chocolate factory & of course the V8 circuit.
The caches were numerous & well placed it was a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Thanks for placing this cache hell+back

Found with Liz and Bruce and Gonefishen07 (whom tagged along on a couple of these as she had already done them. I did visit these with GF07 but wasn't a member at the time). I was very lucky that they took pitty on me and picked me up from school again to do some more caches with Liz and Bruce around Phillip Island before they had to leave. We had a fun time doing these few caches. Thanks very much Hell + Back for hiding caches over here. TFTC
We just could not leave this area without revisiting Phillip Island in an endeavour to finish off the Not Drowning series and to collect some other caches in the area that have been on our list for a long time. Again we were lucky to have a perfect day to go exploring this most scenic island and with what better company than Gonefishen07 and Zobo04 (after school hours). Nice hide. Thanks to hell+back.
Suscoe's 20th cache of 25 finds for this morning as we were picking up where we left off last year.
A nice multi here with a good walk to GZ.
Thanks to hell+back for placing this cache, nice bit of local history.
You never know what you will find along the way when caching.

On holidays from queensland with the rest of the family. I was looking forward to caching around the island..
The gate was open but I parked just off the turn aroud area and headed over tothe sign. With numbers in hand and a new GZ, off I set on foot.
Nothing obvious at the coords I calculated. So a look around provided some other places to look. One was good.

Out and about early this morning and despite the park not really being open we managed to take the short walk and make the find.TFTC
Heading off the island, we went to see how long this multi was during a break in the rain. After doing the numbers and seeing it was only a short walk, as opposed to the several hours of the last one we looked at, we walked to the hide. We will have to come back when the weather is better to explore this part of the island. Thanks for the cache.
