A last morning in Kununurra. It was so great to finally explore some of these rocks. Didn't take too long to find tftc
Found after relocating my hire car (parking in the big rock's shade) & rethinking the hide a bit. Nice. TNLN-TFTC! Enjoyed my morning hike around these, having a meaningful Skype chat with a friend.

Heading north with richlink on our way to Darwin and beyond enjoying the spectacular scenery and finding a cache or two along our route.
As richlink had previously found these caches so they headed back to camp while we negotiated the tracks to the various GZ, conducting maintenance where necessary. Thanks Bushies2

A late log...
We decided to park the geovehicle roadside and adopt the sandy walk option, good choice, pretty rugged tracks...
We enjoyed our afternoon walk through these spectacular rock formations, the sun highlighting the Kimberley red, searching for the clever cache containers, we managed to find all 5 in the vicinity, too much unlove on this cluster of geocaches, TFTC's Bushies2

Find 3 of 17 with 1 DNF on an action packed day, with a whirlwind tour of Kununurra and then out to Emma Gorge for a fabulous walk/swim/meal and return under the stars.
Set off walking to join these 5 caches up together and even though it was only about 9am it was pretty warm. This was much tougher than we expected but we did it, with a lot of scratchy bush bashing and not much track walking. Amazing landscapes all around and some good finds. Quick find to start here.
TFTC Bushies2!

Trip over from Broome before heading home on a little business trip. Was great to escape the cold Perth weather and enjoy some warmth.
Thanks to all the CO for placing these to be found. Eventually I will be back this way however nothing planned yet but looking forward to exploring the place a bit more.

A few spare hours this morning to grab a few caches around town before catching our flight back to Perth.
Thanks for the find.
Thanks for the find.
A nice little find. Log is full but room on the back of paper to write our name. TFTC
Out for a morning of caching in the City of Ruins. Beaut spot but sheesh, she’s a bit warm.
Found all the caches ok and ended up going for a quick dip at Ivanhoe with the locals. Gee, it was nice but I wasn’t in there for long.

Outnabout bright and early. A light must if rain. These are quite spooky in first sight. TFTC
Was heading back in to town on an early 'mission' to grab a couple of caches before we headed out of town.
Knew there were a few close by as I came back in and had time to grab a quick one.
Stopped by and did indeed make a quick find here. Lovely area too.
Thanks for the cache Bushies2.
Cheers

Continuing on with my trip around the top end finall y got to Kununurra.
Dropped the camper off in the park and time to do a tour of the town
Found this one on the way back from the Hoochery.
Note to one self don’t drive a near new cruiser in here if you don’t want bush pinstriping on it.
Intersesting formations to look at but not fun to be walking around in 40 degree heat.
Thanks Bushie2 TFTC.

A quick check of caches in the area had us doing a quick u-turn. The “road” in is very tight, so be sure you’re going to be able to get out if you drive in! TFTC
Out and about with Megawat60 and MY4B on our northern adventure to conquer the mighty Gibb River Road and claim caches as we go.
A nice quick grab on the way back from the Hoochery for Mr2+4. TFTC

Out with m4yb and the Two+Four team after completing the GRR, we are now slowly heading home getting a cache or 3 on the way. This was our last for today and grabbed on the way back to camp, maybe the last cache in town till our next visit.
Thanks for the hide & smiley bushies2

Day 28 of The Northern Adventure with megawat60 and Two + Four. We are now in Kununurra, and at the end of an exciting day, another find with Two +Four to finish off! Thanks for this cache.
Deze rotsen lijken wel op ruïnes. Erg droog hier en .... wellicht wat slangen. Tftc
The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 14. A morning in and around Kununarra was followed by a Ord River crossing as the Ivanhoe crossing and a back roads trip to Wyndham for dusk.
These two ruins caches presents so many rock holes and crevices that they both took way too long and I decided to skip the rest for another visit.
Thanks.

My last day in Kununurra before heading back to Canberra in the afternoon. I had been planning to use the morning to gather some caches, so was glad of the lack of rain. I wasn't about to test my hired soft roader on the tracks (especially after rain) so enjoyed a good walk instead.
I really dig these rock formations, I have to say. I'm not sure how much I dig walking through the long grass, but that pretty much became the order of the day. I did end up with a pretty indirect route to this one, with some unnecessary but enjoyable rock scrambling along the way. With my phone GPS being a bit problematic and a lot of places to hide, I was feeling a bit dubious about finding this one, but the hide made itself known quite quickly. TFTC

Out for the day exploring Kununurra, making our way from some rum tasting to some fish feeding. I wanted to do this series as the caches had a number of favourite points & the area looked interesting. This one was closest to the road & our first one. We quickly came to the washouts (should have read the previous logs...) & so left the car & walked the short distance to the cache. Cache blindness struck big time & hubby had to come lend a hand - of course he found it straight away so quickly set about rubbing that fact in!
Sadly hubby didn't want to take the car down the narrow dirt roads so this ended up being the only one of this series I managed to get.

We headed off this morning towards Kununarra to have a couple of night with friends there and of course the journey wouldn't be the same if we didn't stop for a few caches along the way.
Filling in a bit of time before our friends got home from work we decided to try our luck at this little series so we located a track that looked like it was a bit of a loop to pick them up on but unfortunately arriving near gz we found both tracks led to an eroded waterway, a bit of a bummer when you are towing a camper trailer so we decided to go and locate the cache and sort that problem out later and with good co-ords this was found quickly and the log book now contains our name and then it was back to the car to try and turn it all around which luckily didn't take that long.
Many thanks Bushies2 for showing us this location.

A stop to check out the caches on way to distillery Juju54 had her caching eyes on TFTC
Tftc. Thought we would snap up this set before doing the dinner shopping tonight. 1/6
A quick find today on our way out to the Sandalwood Factory for lunch (though we ended up having lunch at the Hoochery). SL. Thanks to Bushies2 for the cache.
Continuing our travels west we stopped over for few days in this lovely town.
We had met with muggle cousins who were travelling in the other direction and found and signed this on a tour of the district.
Thanks Bushies22

Thanks for showing us an interesting place and the geocaches on the big day tour of Kununarra.
During our holidays in Australia we travelled a lot and searched some caches. TFTC and greetings from Switzerland.
Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which was to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. We then spent a few days in Sydney with geocaching friends efore flying on to the Gold Coast for the fourth leg of our travels, that included visits to Lamington National Park, Noosa and an overnight trip out to Fraser Island. We then flew from Brisbane to Cairns, where we spent a couple of nights before heading out to the birding hotspots of Yungaburra and Daintree. Following on from a visit to Cape Tribulation we turned to Port Douglas. After a day out on the Great Barrier Reef we returned to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs and the fifth leg of our travels, which was a wonderful week driving the circuit to and from Ayers Rock in our 4x4 camper. On returning to Alice Springs we then flew on to Darwin, where we picked up another 4x4 camper. We are currently making our way towards Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
Once again geocaching took us to another fabulous location - this time the "City of Ruins", that we wouldn't have visited or even known about had it not been for geocaching. We also had a great deal of fun on the 4WD tracks, having successfully disabled the highly restrictive big brother tracker in our 4WD hire vehicle that Britz has untold boundaries, for despite their so called "No Boundaries" logo - to the degree that we wonder why on earth they rent out 4x4's when they don't want the vehicles to do what they are built for or go where they are made for! - still, always nice to break the rules and use our 4WD hire vehicle for what we had hired it for! This was a nice quick find at Ground Zero. Thanks so much for the cache, our last of the City of Ruins series - we had such fun finding them all!

Have arrived in Kununurra on our whirlwind tour of the Kimberleys, covered in dust and feeling like a ruin, so this was an apt cache to go for. Nice to be back into caching and looking forward to getting some more of Bushies22 caches. Tftc
This cache was found while we are on our Brad&Janet's Excellent Adventure to WA. Travelling with Mr and Mrs Grump68, Mr and Mrs Yang, and the Others.
We organised two events. One in Karajini NP on 20 May and one in Broome on 27 May.
The adventure so far has included a kangaroo charging and head-butting our car left rear door while we were effectively stopped. And a big challenge which was the differential internal locking bolts starting to undo themselves while we were on the Menzies to Sandstone road a mere 570km east of Geraldton.
This enforced a change of plan which took two teams (Brad&Janet and Mr and Mrs Grumpi68) to Geraldton. Which was not been a bad thing at all
While in Geraldton we found a few local caches and even managed a first on a D4.5/T5 6 week old cache in the centre of town!
The other two couples and 4WDs continued on the planned route north and we eventually caught them at Coral Bay after our 4WD had finished its refreshment at the Geraldton ARB Day Spa
Since then we have had a great week in Karijini NP and Millstream Chicester NP again grabbing a few caches on the way.
Then the Gibb River Rd and Kununurra. And the highlight of being the first ever to find Australia's oldest cache The Legend Bluey at Truscott Air Base just over seven years since it was hidden.
And finally home down the centre of Australia.
This one was found during our stay in Kununurra. Grumpi68 and I went for a short stroll and managed to spot it.

A quick driveby. I wish I could have stayed longer to photograph this fascinating spot, but the sun was almost set.
Caching is the best way to find the greatest attractions. TFTC. Found on our great Aussie Road Trip heading West
In Kununurra for a few days and finding some caches in between doing the tourist thing. TFTC picked up TB.
