Our 3rd Mad Max cache for the day. Once again I had driven past this area many times over the years but had never known the B & B here had been the pub in the Mad Max movie.

It has been a while since we had a chance to find another one in this series and we once again appreciated the effort you put into placing these well hidden containers.
Thanks tackle head.

While Jeanette and I were on our way home we detoured off the freeway to find this group of caches.
Parked close to GZ. Found cache quickly. While I was filling in the log book some Jr muggles came over to ask what we were doing. Told them it was a treasure hunt, but they thought it was boring when they found out you don't get anything, only tell others.
Hopefully they don't touch the cache.

I thought I was going to have to give up on this one, for some young guys at the adjacent skateboard park looked at me whenever I moved. However it thankfully started raining, so they packed up and left, leaving me free to go over and find it unhindered. It was where I told me wife I thought it would be from the car.
Looks like they've done a fair bit of work on the gardens since the film was shot!

We liked the old B&B. And the locals here were very friendly. Thanks for another great cache.
Now this spot I wouldn't have recognised from the film - it's been spruced up a bit.
It was nice and quiet around here today and I had no trouble locating the cache.
Few little muggles at playground looks like they are having fun in the playground.
Thanks for the hide.

Wow - what am amazing location. I really must re-watch Mad Max and finish this series.
Yet more weeing was done at this location, and there was some indication that someone had overdone the all-bran a bit, and had had some issues in the ladies close by. Poor poor them.

What a lovely looking old pub! It works just so well for me. I can just imagine the oasis this must have been in the 1800's on a cold winter's evening. I was also lucky enough to stroll right up to this cache. I didn't take anything with me but left a couple of "eyes" as a calling card. TFTC
I was a little worried as I pulled up to see some works underway near GZ, but cache remains in place. Another clever tacklehead hide. Cheers!
Found while out with the very beautiful LRo, was here a few months ago but muggles were parked nearby. Came back to find nobody about, good effort with the cache hide!
Found on a day out caching with Dolphin60... found cache without too much effort but please be mindful to replace the cache as the owner intended, once you see how it's been hidden you'll understand why. New log book may be needed soon:-) TNLNSL, TFTC!
Team Ranger are GO!!!!
Bloody game one this one, must be maintained by a neighbour.

This was my 4th and final cache for the day on the way back from Melbourne. The first 3 were missing their TB's and this one...wait for it...when I arrived at GZ the cache was staring me straight in the face, exposed to the elements. The item that had been concealing it was overturned and the cache was just laying there. Upon leaving I hope I returned it to the way it is intended to be. The contents did not appear to have been tampered with. TNLNSL TFTC
Taking advantage of a glorious warm and sunny mid autumn day, The Quiet Plodder set forth on a Little River Geocaching plod. Arriving on the early Train from Melbourne, I was greeted with a brilliant morning that had the Camera whirring as I plodded to this the first Cache of the day. Fortunately, being so early, nobody was out and about, even the Dogs failed to yap. The Cache was readily in hand, though like previous Cachers, getting the Cache to stay put again proved tricky with the the magnet probably suffering from 'pole reversal syndrome'! Nonetheless, it's a pleasant hide set in a very understated Park - a good place for a Picnic I'd suggest with a short River walk nearby. I enjoyed the caching notes provided by 'tackle_head' - they are always informative and interesting - especially with the added photographs. It was a good start to the day. Thanks again to 'tackle_head' for another in his Mad Max Series (I'm slowly getting them all done). TNLN. TQP

Easy find on this one.
Might want to check the magnet holding it in place. Dropped of as put back in place, Tried again, dropped off again.. Also the area has just been mulched and cleaned up. Is it where it should be?
Thnaks for the cache tackle_head.
Offto get another one in series

Found this cache as part of a 2-day blitz in Melbourne. This place doesn't look too much like it did in the movie.
This was my last one in the series today........ I should do something like this up here as Mad Max 3 was filmed near my home.
Thanks

It's interesting to see the difference in trees in the photos, the gardens have sprung up to the point that the place is almost unrecognisable. There even seems to be additions to the building. The B&B looked quite inviting, I wonder if they cater for Mad Max fans much.
Thanks,

Nice quick drive through on our way to the city for shopping and lunch...wondeful way to relieve the boredom of an hour drive. Thanks!
This was cache # 32 of 36 for the day, in the company of Alansee. I hardly recognized the place and had to check the photos, anther great hide. My thanks to tackle_head for the cache.
Found on a surprisingly cool summer day caching with Acts2YouthGroup. Neither of us remembered the scene but I was pretty sure which building it was and it wasn't the newer one! Turns out I was correct. He had the cache hide sussed very quickly. Thanks tackle_head.
What an exciting day out... Here we have another very good cache and thanks to Crustyvarmint for bringing me way out here. I wouldn't normally venture out this far by myself and it has been a good day for caching.

fourth find of our spontaneous, late night caching binge
Had fun sitting on the ground hiding under the cover of darkness watching the muggles hang out in front of the pub across the road. When some of them took off in their ute Queen had a flashback to the roo shooting scene from Croc Dundee, but unfortunately the cache is about a different aussie movie ;]

Nice area, nice park. A couple of kids in the playground were so busy they hardly took notice of us. We were more concerned about the grown-up muggles of the beer-drinking kind. Clever hide!

@ 7.18pm.
Had been planning with The Empire for a few weeks now to come and grab these caches as they not all that far from home.
But with other commitments have struggled to get a free afternoon.
Quite enjoyed the series so far and look forward to get out to retrieve the others.

Found at 3.50pm with my 2 geobuggs. Waited for a couple of muggles to move on and found it in no time. Geobuggs left a couple of 5cent pieces, TFTC
After checking out a couple of caches it was then time to travel out to little River to grab this one. Wanted to be there before school finished so set the compass so as to park as close a possible. All around everybody seemed to be doing their own thing and as the co-ords were spot on it was a quick find. There were thousands of small black ants who had made this their home and were looking after their eggs in the dry spot created by the cache hidy hole. After signing the log I checked out the large red gums in the little park and discovered a bee hive in the largest one. Just read the hint before starting this log ,love it. Thanks tackle_head for this and others in this series.Well Done.

With our Geocaching sister and brother-in-law down from the Wagga area and having found three of your hides, I decided that the Mad Max series was the perfect way to spend the day.
Interestingly as Mrs G without the GPSr strayed a little to far from the cache, there was a call from across the road 'It's the other side of the trees'
TNLN
We were certainly able to recognise this location in the obligatory viewing of the movie in the evening.
Our thanks to tackle-head for the cache and this brilliant series.

After bailing out of the southern coast as the weather had turned nasty, I decided to do the southerly members of the MMM series to save a few Km on a return trip.
Once I got my bearings I did another lap of town to get a decent angle for a photo for the scrapbook. Had a bit of trouble till I read the clue that cleared it up soon enough and the cache found and logged.
3/11 of the series.
Thanks Tackle Head going to these places warms the heart of a XB coupe owner that thinks if the world only had one movie, it should be MM1.

Now this spot I wouldn't have recognised from the film - it's been spruced up a bit and has a front fence now! It was nice and quiet around here today and I had no trouble locating the cache (having used a similar technique myself before ). As I finished replacing it, a pesky magpie decided to swoop me and I ended up running back to my car while waving a stick above my head - I hope anyone who saw me was suitably amused . I don't think I can ever remember being swooped by magpies before - although I see there's a thread on it in the GCA forums lately.

Thanks again tackle head - I noticed while on my way out of town that the "Little River" station is quite an historic looking building too - I wonder if it was considered for the scenes at the Clunies Station.

Found by Mary & David at 1335. We've been past here a few times and had no idea of the movie connection. Love the old place. The new one used to have great food whenever we visited, but don't know what it's like these days. Our thanks once more to tackle head.
At least we do remember this part of the movie, it's a shame that it's not still a pub as I'm sure that we would have to have a couple in here. Found today at 12:37pm.
