As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
I was out and about on a mini caching run before heading up to Mount Buller for the weekend so I decided to see if this one was still here even though the logs suggested not.
I had a good poke around all the usual spots, but did not come up with anything. If the cache was close to the ground it has probably been washed away. The ground is very muddy and very slippery.
In any event I suspect I will be too late as it looks like it's going to be archived. At lease I got to visit the area, which I have passed on my bike many times before. If the cache is archived, I suspect it won't be long before another cache is placed in such a quiet spot. Thanks The Skellys for the opportunity to visit.

Thanks to Rikki for advising of wet cache, what a mystery, it has survived many a flood was thought to be completely flood proof! Will re-condition the cache and return to action soon...
Couldn't see the walking track on the other side of the lake on my map, but soon found the entry to the wildlife area. It wasn't long before I spotted the cache. Oh my goodness. It was full to the brim with water. The entire contents are saturated. I dried one page to sign, but it's not really worth it. The log book is saturated. Took the German TB. The cache was not floodproof.
As per previous log. The cache was completely full of water and needs urgent maintenance. Log book and all contents are totally wet.

Amazing to see how high the water has been in the past few weeks due to recent rains.
Left "The Jems" TB, took nothing.

Found at 2030 just on dusk. Struggled for a bit with this one. I was looking for something smaller and must have looked directly at this one five or six times before I realised. What a fool! Took TB left a 50c coin (I forgot to take anything with me!). TFTC
This is indeed a flood proof cache. Last time we were in the area it was a metre under water. What a great cache hide.
Was worried about this cache, seeing as the place looks like it had been flooded recently - but what a great container and hidey-nest!!
Took foggy and TB. Left totem.

A sunny but cool and damp afternoon. Just right for the frogs to be singing away. No one around to disturb the hunt and the GC was found without too much difficulty. Swapped the YugiOh card for a Nose Eraser. Certainly a place to contemplate the beauty of nature. TFTC Skellys.
I thought it was a bit tricky finding a way into this area at first, but luckily I brought Anne with me and she is great when it comes to find our way in the bush.
There just doesn't seem to be an end to this supply of fantastic parks and nature reserves in Melbourne.
We found the cache @ 11:15hrs.
This particular cache was very well hidden and I'm sure I wouldn't have found it if Franklj hadn't given the location away in their log entry.
This was one of the better caches that I have encountered this year. Well done "The Skellys".
Thanks for a great cache. The plastic bag was becoming a bit torn so I replaced it with a new ziplock bag and put all the swappables in the original bag.
We left a green frog (I'm sure he will be right at home here) and took a $5 casino chip.

Nice easy access for this one. Parked not car from GZ for a nice 200-300M walk to GZ. I have one of these containers just waiting to be converted into a cache. Good to see it holds up. TFTC.
It looks like a bower of a bower bird but I don't think it is. I took a keyring torch and left a knight without helmet. Thanks The Skellys
Enjoyed the walk in the wetlands today.

Some caching with wessarah while at secondary schools’ softball championships. An interesting, hidden park area. Good hide too. Left a TB, torch and eraser. Took a charm and ball. TFTC
Nice walk, heard the frogs and crickets. Popped next door for a hit of mini golf as well. TFTC
Down town for the footy today. Called in here to see plenty of people playing cricket? Must be IPL fans. Enjoyed my walk to GZ and found the cache in good order. The bike trail looks like it could be the go one day. I wonder how far it goes? TNLN Picked up the Kiwi GC Thanks to The Skellys for the hide.
Frogs in good voice. Took TB "The Diplomat". Left nothing and signed logbook. TFTC
Very cool cache!! Very clever! Good container - contents inside protected from the weather =) We enjoyed visiting the isolated swamp!
Found with Iggy and Bob as our first find of the night. Rather exposed, so put it back a bit better.

Third time lucky on this one. The first time I got here just as it got too dark to search. Second time, the water still hadn't cleared from a monster storm, and I decided not to chance going in. This time, I found the cache snug and safe within 10 minutes. TNLN, TFTC.
Found at 11.45am This was our 100th cache in 100days of caching. Can we keep this pace up? Don't think so. Lovely spot and a great sized container. Anyhow took Shrek Baby and a TB and left a set of propelling coloured pencils and a geocoin TFTC
This was an interesting one, dodging cyclists on the hike in and having two friends we were teaching to this great sport with the Garmin in hand. WE ended up at GZ but there were some extra trails we took and then retraced to get to the treasure. But it was all worth it with the chest full of caching trinkets. WE were so excited we decided to take TB Sally with us and add to her travels, in return we left a Dragon Spinner Geocoin, and a Poker chip for the next treasure hunters. Gr8 cache - gr8 area. TFTC
A quick change - notified I had dropped off a Dragon Spinner - I have actually dropped off a Travel Dragon.
Dropped off TB 0TV8N3 (The Dipomat). Enjoyed the walk around the reserve. It was a hot day but I did hear the frogs. TFTC
Lovely evening for a stroll. Hate to be the bird that tries to hatch that egg. jefina
It seems I missed EuDes by only 30 minutes or so. I parked near the footy ground and walked in, avoiding the groundsman preparting the wicket for the weekend game presumably. The cache was a much easier find than I was thinking and I'm always pleased to see a large container used.
Many thanks for highlighting this lovely reserve.

22-01 2nd find of the day at 19:49 and 834th find in total.
What a great container for a cache!
For some reason we were expecting this one to be harder but it turned out to be a nice suburban cache.
Left Sally the T.B.
(''\(OoO)/'') Thanks The Skellys for the caching fun!

In the area today to carry out a few other tasks, this was the first cache on our list. We parked at the Mini-golf centre (a place that we would utilise a bit later on ) and took the long way to GZ. Once there, we had the stash in hand at 12:20 after a short search and found a much quicker way back to the car .
TNLNSL. Thanks The Skellys.

Found around 12:10,i was driving past the area when this cache popped up on the screen, the weather was starting to warm up so a quick stroll before it got too hot. cache was spotted quickly unlike the path leading to gz, so i walked the long way there spotting many water birds and ducks.

Riding down here on a hot day. Found the way in and walked to the cache spot. Surprisingly difficult to find for such a large cache. Took brush, left badge and TB. Thanks.
Found by Mary & David at 1900. Surprisingly busy place tonight. many walkers, runners and families on bikes. Eventually found the way in. Delighted to have the full-blown chorus too. The cache seems to be lucky to have survived a flood through here at the weekend. There was a lot of flood debris all around, and the ground was still muddy. It's still dry though. Our thanks to The Skellys.

Nice quick find in an area I've driven past many times but have been blissly unaware of. Thanks for pointing it out to me, and for the cache.
Pulled up and watched the cricketers warming up just as the day was doing the same. Realising we needed to concentrate on our own game, we headed off into the wetlands. Aware we were entering a "shared environment" with the joe blakes. Where is a big stick when you need one. Great hide, found after doing a bit of bush whacking. Took "King Frog" tb. TFTC

Now here was a classic geocaching experience...
Having just started working down this way I took advantage of having the geo-fender with me today and took off at lunchtime to find this one. I'd never have visited this park if it wasn't for geocaching. And definitely wouldn't have ventured into this part of the park.... and even moreso, I never would've thought as I strolled down the trail to venture just a few metres to the left to see what lurked behind those trees. I'm so delighted that you brought me here!
Cache was soon found, but I think i was more excited about the beauty of this little spot, so took the container back to a grassy patch and sat just drinking in the view and peace and serenity on this lovely day (once I'd turned my back on the ugly CAT digger over the other side!). The only thing missing was a big picnic lunch and a loved one. Sigh... With that I think I would never have gone back to work!
Dropped off King Frog V to go with the Froggy theme... I'm ever so envious that he'll get to enjoy this spot.
Happy Chappies.

Finally got to this one. So close to home but have only just found the time to search for it. We have ridden past this place on so many occasions and never entered. Today we came with a mission and the frogs serenaded our search which took about five minutes as the hide was quite tricky. Took BERTRAM TB. Well done The Skellys. TFTC. KeMs (See you at Heany Park)
Arrived early in the morning and with Acts2youthgroup walked to gz. We were sans umbrellas which was risky but happily we got away with it with a quick find to the sounds of .... frogs! Thanks The Skellys.
This was cache # 1 of 42 for the day, in the company of alansee on our Bayside & Mornington Peninsula tour, the cache was found at 07:30. Once we worked out the best parking spot it was off to GZ where the cache was soon in hand, there was plenty of frog noises in the area, a quick dash back to the car as the sky opened up. My thanks to The Skellys for the cache.
Found 14:40, a great location, near a very busy road.
TNLN, CSI=3, thanks to The Skellys.

Dropped in on this one on the way to the Dandenongs tonight. A nice walk from the ovals where we left all the muggles. It was all dry around here today.
Thanks, Robmc.

Spent most of the day at the camping and leasure expo at Sandown but having come this far across town we had to get at least one cache. This one was the closest so it had to be done. An easy walk, seems we found the best way in, and a quick find and it's all done. Nice big cache too but had no swaps. Geojen stayed in the car and thats her job.
Thanks indeed
Thanks indeed
The only cache that we did today. The Swaggies and chewinprickles spent an exhausting day traipsing up and down at the Leisurefest at Sandown Park, trying to decide if we should trade the house in on a Motorhome, 5th Wheeler or a 4wd and a van. I think the latter won mainly because it would leave some money over for geocaching. After getting back to the car park, we turned on the GPS to find only one solitary cache not found in the immediate area, so after a short drive and walk we found and logged the cache. The area had shown some signs of flooding in recent days but the cache was still high and dry. TNLNSL Thanks to the Skellys.
Found in the late afternoon. Bertram VW Beetle #TB11B6G had been placed in the cache in the morning.
Looked around for this one for a bit, always seemed to be going the wrong direction. Once at gz easy find. Good size cache! TFTC
After a pleasant stroll through the park / swamp land, I came to GZ and after quick search had the cache in hand. TNLNSL. TFTC.
An amazingly fresh floral smell followed us on the pleasant walk around the swampland. Was hoping to see some frogs but it wasn't to be. TNLN SL TFTH.
With all the traffic of the East Link tollway and Wellington Road (Hwy) nearby, we were surprised such a pleasant place could exist.

After what seems an eternity of awful, windy weather, today dawned bright, sunny and quite mild - so I figured it was an omen to make a caching detour on the way to work. I've had my eye on this one since it was placed, as I remember from the previous cache that was nearby that it's an interesting area. I actually headed here once before, but the football field was in use and required payment to get in, so I thought I'd be cheap and come back another day. No footy today, but there was a gate which is closed when the field is not in use - so I guess I outsmarted myself last time . Anyway, it wasn't a long walk and I had plenty of time to enjoy it and, once at GZ, the cache was a nice, quick find.
TNLN, but did drop off a couple of trackables
Thanks Skellys - it's really nice to see such a large container too!

This was 3 from 3 this afternoon after an early finish.
I was not checking the GPS and went too far the first time and found the track became slippery.
Back tracked and located without too much problem, Pleasently surprised at the size of this cache.
It was very pleasent sitting there in the bush writing in the log and listening to the Frog and Bird Songs.

Like Rabbitto the last time we visited these wetlands was back in 2005 when we were fortunate enough to grab a FTF on the no disabled cache. We were in a hurry that day to complete a series of caches and didn't have time to explore the area so today we made the most of the glorious weather and went for quite a long walk to rectify that.

We found our 1st Skellys cache at 12:10pm as the 1st of 16 on our North of the Bay Afternoon. Like Pprass, this was our closest unfound cache from home since it was place a few weeks back. We can almost see our house from here. 9 y.o. "A" made light work of finding this one. It was over 2,700 cache finds for us since we last geocached in this park with the now long missing Mulgrave Wetlands Walk found back in 2005. Thanks for the cache from D, H & A B-A.
Found at 10.40am GAFF1. Finally got around to go searching for this one which has been the closest cache to home ever since it came out. A short walk through an area that we have been to before and after the recent rain it looked like the creek has overflowed it's banks. The frogs were certainly in full song - or is that just a recording considering that all of the frogs were supposed to have disappeared?
Thanks The Skellys for the cache and bringing us back to this area.

This was our first geocache, what a great family activity!
Had a little trouble finding it, since we weren't sure exactly what we were looking for, but with some rummaging around eventually found it. We were very excited. We took the compass and sharpner and left a bouncy ball and stretchy frog.
Thanks.

Although I used to live about 1km from here ten years or so ago, I'd never visited this area before. As we walked toward the GZ, we could here a continual cacophony of frog sounds, however, they were all hiding from view. Fortunately, it was a little easier to find the cache.
Left a TB & magnet and took coin.
Thanks Skellys for bringing us to this great area. The walk around the pond was facinating.
