This was our very first cache - and a multi too! But after about 11 years, we've decided not to replace it, freeing up the area for new caches.
Very disappointing. Spent ages getting all the info and got to GZ. Unfortunately nothing at the base of the Camelia or anywhere in it. Had a trackable I needed to drop off as well.
New Zealand entered Level 2 (Covid-19) on Thursday 15 May 2020, and it is now considered safe to resume geocaching in New Zealand. Wishing you all happy & safe geocaching.
Covid-19: have decided to disable our caches until it is safe to resume geocaching.
#17379. We walked along the top level to get to this one. Good views from up here. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker on a 4 day long weekend in Tauranga.
Day 1 Christchurch to Tauranga. We picked up the rental then headed west towards Otumoetai and Matua.
Good to get another multi today and what a lovely big container with pristine contents - a pleasure to find. Thanks Lion Fish.

Our first multi cache as a family. Even though it was a cold winters day, we had fun exploring the park and finding out its history. TFTC

Tama the geohound & I thoroughly enjoyed this park. So after finding the Traditional cache we continued on our walk - runnies - to complete this multi. All the numbers were easy to obtain and the final container was a brilliant size. No TB present though. Loved the TOTT in there too. Gets a favourite point from me; for the excellent location, walk, large container - gushing - well everything actually. TFTC
Visiting with a brand new trackable ("Owl") that is about to set off on its great adventure travelling around the world.
Today, we had a nice day at this very nice park! We took the chance to made some Caches. Thanks for the cache!
Find number 4371. The coords had been arrived at previous but I had not collected the final. I was in the area gain today following the GIFF event so stopped by to grab. Missed it on the 1st pass but doubled back and soon had it in hand. Signed and returned. Thank you for the placement.
Over this way for the event in an hour or so. Good little walk around the park in the warm winter sun. Cache is all good, nice view from GZ. TFTC
The 10 Golden Rules of Boating sign has gone. A & B can now be calculated from the 'Fishing Rules' sign. Puzzle has been updated accordingly. Happy caching everyone!
It seems a sign has gone, so until we are able to adjust the questions... this should be of assistance... A=7 & B=6.
GAR and I walked the dog around the waterfront and decided to give this multi a go when we came across it. The signs at GZ have changed making the answers to the first two questions nigh impossible unless you have Google Street view and who knows how long that will remain in place? Other than that, we had no problems and enjoyed our walk around on this sunny morning. Nice large container for a change, not that we took advantage of it today. Thanks for adding interest to our walk Lion Fish!
Finally knocked this one off.
I have been to this park many times before to walk Max and even found all the other Trad caches, but not sure why I have never completed this cache at the same time.
So today I decided to put the effort into the multi and as I was pretty much going to walk this loop anyway, I was able to easily solve the clues and make the find.
The large Camelia bush is no longer a large bush as it has recently been topped. The cache I consider to be still hidden away from muggles eyes enough, but might be worth checking up on sometime in the near future.
Thanks for the walk-in-the-park cache and the interesting history lesson of the area.

This took me longer than 40 mins but then I am new to finding these kind of caches. Found today in between the heavy rain showers. Have very happy memories of this park, walking, swimming, fish and chips on the beach, picnics, watching all the various activities, it is a great place. Many thanks for the cache.
I had worked out the clues to this one and figured out the final coords quite some time ago but hadn't gone to find it yet so SB20 & I were able to do it today. Located it pretty quickly. Tftc.
KathyKaches and I went on a geocaching mission today and found around 30 caches in total. This was number 17. KK had already gone around and worked out the clues and figured out the final coords but hadn't gone to find it yet so we decided to do it today. Was a relatively quick find and I enjoyed looking at all the little things inside, some kids have been very creative Thanks for the cache!
Although it was very windy we had a lovely walk around Fergusson Park. Great clues which led to a nice quick find.

Tauranga schools out found the treasure. We had three treasures to swap. Here we are opening the cache. Be careful to write the correct coordinates in from the clues
Great little adventure around Ferguson Park while learning some of the history.
Got the waypoint co-ordinates in the rain a few days ago whilst looking for three Baden-Powell caches. Went back today and finished it off. Fabulous views. Great quote (Tennyson's Ulysses, I think). Excellent hide, particularly for such a big cache BUT Bob the Builder has packed it to the rafters.
I was staying over in the bay for the weekend and having scored a few smileys around the Matua peninsula the previous day I decided to head over this way fairly early on Sunday morning. Thoroughly enjoyed wandering around the park working this one out and then claiming it. Great little puzzle - not too difficult which is always pleasant - and very leading hint. TFTC
With luck I have found it. Nice spot. Bees getting a little upset with me though. And oh yay a container I can finally but my builder/Bob the builder set into. It should make some child happy. cache well stocked with goodies for the kids. Tftc
Our fist multi geo! Brilliant tips, took a bit to locate the cache but we'll worth it! Tftc kids loved it
Nice multi which was easily doable within an hours stroll. Geo-pup had a blast meeting and greeting countless other dogs. The views area great while the sun's setting. Thanks for giving us an extra excuse to wander about in this nice park! TFTMC
Phew i found it, not sure how. Haha. All good here. Starting on local multis as run out of traditionals. Thanks for the exercise, a fave from me. TFTC
Thanks for the history and traipse around the park - even if it caused a minor rift on Valentines Day. Coordinates took me directly to each way point and final cache. Walked about 15km today. Time for a cool one.
Al ways interesting finding about the history of the area especially when one of my old neighbors from the area was mentioned nice to add a smiley to this one and a good way to fill an afternoon.thanks Lion Fish for the lesson and cache enjoyable
Found after heading to the wrong swings. Picked up the trackables to move on. TFTC
An enjoyable walk around the park. It is many years since I used to play hockey here as a kid and this multi was a good reason to visit again. TFTC!
I needed one more multi cache for my geo license stage 2 I'm working on this was to be it as I also wanted a large container to drop two travel bugs in so two missions accomplished at the same time thanks lion fish. A nice quick multi while the kids are training.
Our first multi. I had little faith in our coordinates but they proved fruitful!
Another all day mission with 11HPG11 and iammrwalker, this time focusing on the other side of Tauranga. I had just finished logging the all the caches we had found in Papamoa when I looked at the map and thought why not have a crack at the other side as well!
A early start as we were on the road at 4.30am as we needed to be back not to late otherwise we'd be in the dog box when we got back home. Another fantastic day out with lots of the usual laughter and this time the weather was much better behaved. In total over 80 finds, with only a couple of DNF's and we got back in time to stay out of the dog boxes, just!
We signed the log books with Hi1, an acronym of our caching handles. A big thanks to all the CO's for all the placements, and for taking us to places we hadn't been before.
Lots of people out the afternoon, but they didn't really worry us to much as we made our way through this multi. We had no troubles getting the required info and a quick search at our calculated GZ revealed a nice sized hide. Thanks for the multi.

Out and about trying to clear off another chunk of Tauranga geocaches. Again accompanied by HKCB and Iammrwalker, this seems to becoming a habit. Early start, head to Tauranga, cache the whole day, say we will be home early, end up being home later and then grovelling out of the dog box. This time we set off from Hamilton at 4.30am to try and get more caching done before we had to turn around. We seem to be enjoying this so much we are planning a return visit again soon. Signed our logs as "HI1" as an acronym of our respective caching names. A great, laugh filled day that was thoroughly enjoyed.
This was a great multi. Not too straining both mentally and physically. Learnt some local history and got a great tour of this park. Thanks for the enjoyable time and nice problem free multi.

This was one of nearly eighty Geocaches I found in the company of HKCB and 11hpg11, we signed the log HI1, an anachronism made up of the first initials of our Geocaching handles to save on log space. This was our second trip to the Bay of Plenty. A few weeks ago we conquered The Mount and Papamoa and were back today on another infamous mad mission. We left Hamilton at 4:30 am and I was back at home in time to read my two boys a story and tuck them into bed at 7:30pm. We had a fun day exploring the area and got to see lots of parts of the area we hadn’t experienced before. A big thanks to all the cache owners who took the time and effort to place so many high quality and well maintained hides. Thanks also to HKCB for organising the day and driving. I think it was fitting to undertake these trips during the ‘Geocaching Road trip’ Groundspeak promotion, as it typified all those things that make a good road trip, most importantly good company. There were plenty of laughs and some memorable shenanigans.
A nice high quality multi which involved learning more about the area and seeing parts of the park I otherwise wouldn't have. No issues with the maths or the final find which was a nice bonus.

Decided to do the two Multi's and puzzle cache in Matua today.
This was a good, fun and not too difficult multi. I had no issues with gps at all. It was a very windy day here, no kites but plenty of dog walkers.
I've read these signs before but always good to brush up on our local history. What a different time we live in now. Thanks Lionfish for an enjoyable multi. You get a fav point here for fun and the fact that I didn't need ANY help!! Lol

I enjoyed this one! Particularly for the fact I've played for this club for years!! Thanks heaps
After a long run of not finding any caches, this one was the last straw - we were ready to give up.
Thankfully we nailed this after wandering around the park on a hot summers day.
Had some problems with the final coord number but used some guesswork.

Out for a bike ride today in the vicinity of Fergusson Park and decided to go for this multi. No problems with finding the correct co-ordinates for waypoints and final. Cache is in good condition. Lots of people in the park today and a couple walked past us while we were signing the log (but we had moved away from GZ and weren't acting suspiciously) Thanks Lion Fish! Found with Stickman2000.
I suppose this log is probably good timing then. This Multi is very achievable even with the missing plaque. We used google to figure out that blanks and the geochecker to confirm. Obviously the spirit of the multi is a little lost without the sign but we still found this cache to be very enjoyable and thus gets a fave from us. The cache itself was found full, in good condition and at exact coordinates which in itself is awesome. I look forward to seeing many more smilies on this one and hopefully that sign is replaced soon.
An information boards appears to have been removed ... will have to visit the Park and investigate alternatives.
Found while on a trip to Tauranga, the wind was cold and strong while reading
all the signs but we got there in the end. TFTC

Ran out of time last weekend. Finished today, we had fun with this cache.

A big thank you to Noodlekidz for alerting us to the change in signage. We have altered the questions for A & B... which can be found on the noticeboard for "The Ten Golden Rules of Boating". Happy caching everyone!
Yay!!We found it.[^] Today we decided to have a go at another multi cache.
Went to the first waypoint but we unfortunately we didn't get the correct info. Looks like the Fisheries have updated the sign. With our dads knowledge about fishing we had the right numbers and were back on track. Collected the rest of the info in 1/4 of a 60:00. Eventually got to the final cache container.
Nice size.[:p]
Thanks Lionfish

Found this on a windy day in Fergusson Park. Enjoyed the history and stories of long past.
Haven't been to this park for years was good to have a wee look around and find this multi - container was sticking out a bit so tried to camo it a bit more choice views x
Woohoo - finally finished the 100/100 challenge - this proved a lot harder than caching for 31 days! It has taken a while to get the last 2 caches, which required a bit of planning, but I can resume normal service!! No more passing up a cache as it didn't have the right numbers. Easy find once I had 'scared' off an unwary kiddie muggle, who I don't think was expecting to see me there....quickly turned on his heel and ran back from where he came from.

Worth a fave just for finishing the challenge!

Excellent cache ... Enjoyed the multi and looking around the park in more detail. TFTC
Our mission today is to clear as many of those little green boxes off our map of Otumoetai and Matua.
That was a good walk to start the day off. Thanks Lion Fish.

First of the day! First ever multi! Grandad and I enjoyed learning about the local history. Thank you for bringing is here
Enjoyed the walk around the park, collecting the required information and the stop to watch the budding local cricketers before heading back to Pilot Bay for dinner on the beach

Visiting with 'Andy the Landy' TB. Took the 3 trackables that were in the cache... it's time they were moving along on their adventures.
Nice easy walk around the park collecting the required information. Quick find at the final. TFTC
Thanks to all the cachers that keep discovering the "Kiwi 007" T.B. but it has been in this cache for a long time, could someone help it along and move it, please.
An easy find this afternoon following hints and logged clues. The afternoon sun is fantastic. TFTC.
Have done the first couple of questions yesterday and the last two found online. So today went with the doggies for a morningwalk
Found the wonderful cache and was happy to complete this one with a happy face.

Gathered all the required information easily and headed off to WP2. There was a muggle right on GZ so decided to do a few other caches and come back. Well, on return the muggle was still there! Decided to then try my luck and track down the cache with a missing digit. Found the cache easily using the really good hint. Was great to knock this one off the list on my busy day walking around otumoetai collecting smilies. TFTC!
Found on a lovely summer day (finally) with newcomers Geoff and Flynn. Uplifted horse trackable. TFTC

Enjoyed the walk around Fergusson Park, culminating with another great LionFish hide. Left "Lucky Magic" horse trackable. Thanks for the cache and the exercise!
Maintenance check today: we discovered that the cache appears to have gone missing. Have replaced it with a new 1.1 litre Xeonic. Apologies to anyone who has been looking for this over the last few weeks.
Has everything I like about Multi's:
A nice walk about in a great location (not too long not too short)
A bit of history
A bit of thinking
And finally a reward of another smiley
