a quick find, took a bit longer to return it though, it needed a good drying out first, tftc

Trip down to Dunners for a birthday bash .. Get some in, dodgy weather be damned..... Eventually got there. Overcast day throwing the GPS off, but there it was... Cheers!
First today, interesting number of planes fly in and out of this airport. $79 fare to Auckland sounds tempting.
We are camped at the golf course for a motorhome GC holiday. Today we packed a picnic and went for a trip to find the local GC's. Glad to have a nice day, but cold wind after all the rain.
Thanks for this cache ernienz.

Today I was out and about on a very specific caching mission. My objective for the day was to accumulate enough missing 'minutes' qualify for the South Island 300 Minutes Latitude Challenge - GC8RQ1G. I started collecting missing minutes at S 44 03 and ended up down at S 45 15. No problems here. Cache found as per hint. TFTC, Biggles.
School holiday outing on a lovely day. Sat and watched planes take off which was a nice break from driving. Log book quite damp as ziplock bag is ripped. Tftc
Day 1 of a long leap day weekend in Oamaru and surrounds. StreetWalkerNZ and I have brought the bikes with us and are planning on riding part of the A2O trail.
Exactly 10 years and 15 days ago, SW and I DNFed this cache. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then, plus we have better GPSrs, so finally the blue face is avenged with an easy find. Not sure how we failed last time. TFTC.

#17917. This is probably the longest it's taken us to put a DNF to rights. Not sure why it has taken us so long to stop and look for this cache. TFTC.
For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 10 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. I had shifted my snail shell back in Oamaru for a few days on my way further south.
No planes taking off today.
Cheers for the cache.

On our way to Dunedin we made a quick stop to retrieve this cache and sign the log.
Thought I'd lost my caching mojo after 2 dnfs in a row so a pleasant surprise to find this one! Thanks for the hide. #3443
A drive north to Chch and an opportunity to grab a couple caches. All good here. Tftc
nice easy find whole on a mission found all safe and secure in perfect condition tftc
Found at 2200hrs as Deane was doing a flying trip (in the fog) from Christchurch to Invercargill after having his flight cancelled and needing to get home. A quick stop here as I knew there was a cache hidden near this corner and I needed a stretch and some fresh air. Quickly found and the log signed and it was good to see that the cache was still in good condition. TFTC [^]
A quick cache and dash whilst passing. Out caching with Will of the Wisp on our “Round the World in 80 Days” trip to celebrate retirement. Signing logs with our names or initials depending on space. Greetings from England, TFTC.
This was a quick find. I remember when the airport had a regular passenger service and there was a time after the 1980 flood when this was the airport for Dunedin.
Considering I left the campground in Oamaru 5 hours ago I really shouldnt be stopping for yet another cache , as I did I would be back in Christchurch for dinner tonight ... just one (or two) more. Thanks for all of the caches ernienz

I was down in Otago for the long weekend to attend the Oamaru Geofest. After flying from Auckland to Dunedin this morning, driving up to Oamaru, then registering for the event, I then headed North to find a few caches. I stopped for this cache on the way back down to Oamaru. This was a quick find at GZ. TFTC!
Up in Oamaru for day #1 of the Oamaru geofest. Out with Sirbennis and KJR grabbing lots of caches. TFTC ?
I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.

Headed out for a Mad Mission with Team_Gaters and 8ManAfter we signed our logs today 'T8T' cos were dynatmite! I grabbed 8Man at 5.30 am and we grabbed TG just before 6am and we were on the road before 6am with the bikes on the back. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We wanted to do as much of the A2O as we could and as many PnGs that we could manage. We stopped by the event first and then we had to stop an grab breakfast at 10am. We grabbed some lunch and headed for the hills. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Scored a delicous dinner in town and headed home. Got home just after 12am knocking out 620km and 115 caches. Good times!
Quick find on a wee detour.
Cache 4 of 115 for this crazy day!
Thanks for the cache erninz.

#2,937: Binge Smiley!
What an adventure we had today! TheWanglers, Team_Gaters, and I headed out at dawn from Christchurch with four goals in mind: 1) Find Many Caches, 2) Get TG to 7,000 finds, 3) get me to 3,000 finds, and 4) Have Fun! Needless to say, all were accomplished in spades. It was only my second 100+ day ever, and had us driving, walking, running, biking, and even crawling to make the finds. We were also able to find at least 6 different cache types, and attend two events, in order to catch up with old friends. Thanks to all the hiders, but most of all, thanks to my partners in crime! We signed all logs as "T8T", sung to the tune of AC/DC "TNT".

A quick find. I was going to do this one on my way down from Christchurch but my phone was playing up. Silly me I had turned something off by mistake.
We set off from Friendly Fielding next day did some Christchurch caches before heading towards Omaru what a lovely place to cache, some of the places we have been and seen today have been beautiful, so glad caches take us to areas we would never of dreamed of going. Thank you for placing a cache here we signed the log and placed it back exactly where we found it. cache all good. TFTC now off to enjoy the area of Omaru and its creativity. amazing
A nice early start to the day, North Otago was our target for the morning and then hunt out a few more around town.
Even ran in to several other cachers along the way, Thanks from the McCutchan Cache Clan for putting these caches out.

Lots of caching as part of the geofest! Having a wonderful time with dghoffy as we have been caching down from Timaru. Thanks for the cache.
Quickly popped in here to grab this cache on the way to Oamaru. Had GZ to ourselves but on our way back out saw some other geocachers and gave them a bit of encouragement from the car. Got to watch a light plane land. All good here, thanks for the cache.
I am heading down to Oamaru with LSteamer. Not long now until the geofest.
After going to shop at Riverside I thought that I would stop at a few Geocaches.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent) and come and join us.
Thanks. ernienz for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 5121 for me.

I have been planning this trip for a while now as I had some airpoints due to expire and wanted to go somewhere for Wellington Anniversary Weekend. So I've made it a 4 day weekend and come down from Palmerston North for a caching road trip. I have two goals for this weekend, to get two 2500 caches before 23 January as that is when I took up caching last year and to get caches on as many minutes as possible that will hopefully qualify me for a challenge cache in the Manawatu. Day 1 is Christchurch to Oamaru.
Home straight now that I've crossed the waitaki river. It's been a long day but there's still time for a few more caches. Cache was quickly in hand. Tftc

I have flown into and out of this airfield numerous times (I do fly one of these planes here ) cheers
Heading south for a wee family holiday. Family caught a cheap early flight down to Dunedin this morning...and will spend the day exploring Dunedin attractions...whilst I drive down to meet them...and find a cache or two along the way!
Nice one, cheers.

At World’s End – New Zealand – One of our dream become true.
Our plan was to stay 4 weeks in New Zealand. But this wasn’t this easy to manage at work. So we moved spontanic the plan from march to november. We informed us before about point of interessts. The list was this long so we decided to go by campervan from the north to the south to have the most mobility. We arrived after way to much hours in Auckland and started there our round trip. At first we enjoyed the area in auckland and the north. In Waitomo we were able to see and enjoy glohworms in one of the famous caves. But this area had a lot of nice hiking trails were we could discovered the Piripiri Caves, Natural Bridge and the Marokopa Falls. This was already impressive to see and still the beginning of our adventure for life. The trip went on over Okere Falls Scenic Reserve direction Rotorua. In this area we enjoyed each hour, because each corner was different. We visited the Haumurana Springs – what amazing water -, Blue Lake and Green Lake and relaxed in Kerosene Creek. We liked all the water and in our travel guide we found a hike cloth to the Huka Falls, which ofcourse we did as well. All this flowers were bloom. One oft the Highlights was Wai-O-Tapu. The weather was perfect and all this colors awesome and the geysir a nice shower. By Campercan the to tour went on direction Tongariro Alpine with a short stop at Orakei Korako and the Tongariro River Loop Track. Lu like nice hiking tours and what could be the best for her birthday? Of course the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing. We started early in the morning and walked approximately 9 hours over gras, stones, snow and colorful water. Now we had to leave the Heart of North New Zealand and went over Taranaki Falls to the East Coast with the goal Napier. The weather was cloudy and often raining but a small sightseeing was a must have. The last stop on the North Irland was Wellington. But it was only raining and some streets were already flooded. That’s why we change spontanic our plan and only did the First Cache of New Zealand and went by ship over the Marlboro Sound to Picton. We went over Farewell Spit to the lonely Wharariki Beach with sea lions. On the way back to the big streets we stopped at Waikoropupu Spring and Janie Sesson Shipwreck and drove untypical to Karamea. In Germany we do not have this much and public caves and that’s way we enjoyed this area! Cloth to the West Coast we took a look at the Pancake Rocks. The weather was just raining and so we could not see the Franz Josef and Fox Glacier, but we still visited them. We leaved the bad weather in the hills and enjoyed the Sun at Ship Creek, Thunder Creek, Fantail Falls and the Blue Pools. Wow they were relly blue and this clean and deep. I never saw something similar before. About Wanaka we read a lot in our travel guide and looked forward to it. There arrived we visited the Puzzling World and walked around the sea. Queenstown the next town we drove just through because at this time there was a marathon and it was really campervan unfriendly. So we used the time and drove to Milford Sound and enjoyed the hills surround us on the water. I never felt this small. After we are landed again on land the trip goes on to the Chasm and Clifden Caves and the Clifden Suspension Bridge. Wow what an adventure. At the end we visited a few cities like Bluff, Duneding, Moeraki Boulders and Christchurch were our Trip sadly ends.
At all this places we looked for nice and unique caches which shows us places which we never would had seen without. We enjoyed the nature and wildlife each day and it was really an adventure for life. At the end we drove approximately 5000 kilometeres and felt this relaxed.
Thanks to all owners for placing this caches and this much informations which we got about the particular areas. This was an adventure for life for us. Thanks for this beauty time.
