Finally the moment has arrived. After many preparations, I fly with my sister Lady Panda to Greenland. The main goal is to walk the Arctic Circle Trail from Kangerlussuaq to Sisimiut and, of course, find the cache there.

After a great hike and finding the cache on the Arctic Circle Trail we arrive in Sisimiut where we have a couple of nice days before getting on the ferry to Ilulissat. From the ferry we see our first icebergs in Greenland. When the ferry arrives in Ilulissat we walk from the harbour to the beginning of the ‘yellow route’ where we find the cache *Yellow Route* after a bit of searching. After logging the cache we follow the ‘yellow route’ before getting onto the ‘blue route’ and make a stop at the earthcache *Ilulissat Icefjord*. A little bit further there is a really nice viewing point and we decide to pitch our tent nearby. When the tourists are gone we have the place for ourselves and it feels really special. We see the sun go down and the moon setting in. The night is quite windy and freezing cold though and the next morning we drink some coffee and tea in the tent before packing up and follow the ‘blue trail’ again. Not far away from where we slept we find the cache *blå rute*. It’s a nice hike to Sisimiut where we book a room in the hostel for two nights.

The next day we go to explore town a little bit. From the hostel we walk to the cache *Ammukajaaq*. We find the cache and enjoy the nice view to town from here. We also try to find the cache *Ilulissat's postbrevkasse* today, but we can’t find the final.

On our fourth day in Ilulissat we have a nice hike in the area of the airport. We try to find a path to the cache *VIK-02* but can’t find it. We do have a really nice hike though, despite not finding the path we looked for and the rain that was falling.

On the fifth day we go to the Eqi glacier. It’s a nice boat trip to the glacier and it’s great to spend some time looking at the glacier and see it calving. We are very lucky we are able to spend the night in one of the huts near the glacier. We spend the afternoon just watching the sky change and the glacier calve. In the late afternoon we make a little hike to the nearby meltwater lake.
The next day we wake up early to enjoy the view and after breakfast we go for a hike to a nice viewpoint over the glacier. The hike is beautiful and we really enjoy the view. Of course we also take the opportunity to log the earthcache *Eqi*. When we get back it’s time to get on the boat again to Ilulissat. The trip to Eqi was definitely worth it and very special.

The next morning is our last day in Ilulissat and we are able to find the cache *Ilulissat's postbrevkasse* thanks to an additional hint from the cache owner. This afternoon we fly back to Kangerlussuaq and from there back home.
We had a great time in Greenland and love the country and nature here!

Together with Lady Pinguin I’m on a holiday to Greenland. Our main goal of this trip is the Arctic Circle Trail. We fly to Kangerlussuaq, where we first explore the area and visit the Ice Cap. We start the Arctic Circle Trail and after 9,5 wonderful days of hiking we arrive in Sisimiut. We spent a few days here before catching the ferry on Saturday evening to Ilulissat, our final part of our holiday.

When we get off the ferry, we put on our backpacks and start walking towards the Yellow Route. The views of the icebergs on the way are fantastic, and they only get better! Once at the cache location it takes us quite a long time to locate it, but eventually Lady Pinguin finds it. I guess we were put on the wrong foot due to the cache size. After walking the yellow route we switch onto the Blue Route, doing the earthcache Ilulissat Icefjord on the way (answers were emailed a while back). Shortly after we arrive at an amazing (and quite busy) viewpoint. We spend some time around here enjoying the view of the many icebergs and decide to look for a place to pitch our tent for the night. A little bit further on the next hill we find a reasonably flat and dry spot and we set up the tent. While we have some hot tea and a warm meal, the other people are starting to leave and soon we’re left to ourselves. We spend the evening enjoying the amazing view and listen to the incredible sounds as the ice is creaking and breaking of in the distance. The sunset is beautiful, but it’s also getting very cold. The moon looks beautiful above the ice. This is by far the coldest night we’ve had in Greenland, but that was to be expected sleeping so close to the ice.

The next morning we try to defrost by having a couple cups of tea and coffee before packing up our tent and setting of again on the blue trail. The views continue to amaze us. We enjoy our walk and find the cache blå rute. When we arrive at the end of the Blue Route we decide to head to the hostel, where we will stay the next two nights.

On Tuesday we explore the town and find the caches around here. First we walk to Ammukajaaq, where we enjoy the nice view from the cache location. We also do the waypoint of Ilulissat's postbrevkasse, but can’t find the cache today.

The following day we try to hike to VIK-02. We set of to the airport, from where we will try to pick up a trail towards the cache. The weather isn’t the greatest, and the rain is coming down quite hard. Despite this, the area here is beautiful! Unfortunately, we cannot locate the trail, even having taken a good look at the hiking map. Eventually we decide to head back towards town.

Thursday morning we head to Eqi Glacier. The boat trip there is beautiful with a great view of the many icebergs floating by. The first part of the trip is a bit wobbly, but we manage to keep our breakfast down. At Eqi we are lucky to be able to spend the night in one of the cabins. In the afternoon we spend the time just enjoying the beautiful view and the calving glacier and walk towards the lake, a short but wonderful little hike. The next morning we signed up to do the guided tour to the Eqi Glacier viewpoint. The hike is beautiful (again)! All the autumn colours are amazing! When we get to the river we have to cross, it turns out that the water is higher than it normally is, and the guide decides to turn back. We have another look, and one big jump later we land safely on the other side. We continue on to the glacier, where we enjoy the view before turning around to head back. We take our time to enjoy the walk. Unfortunately then it's time to go back to Ilulissat on the boat.

The next day is our final day. In the morning we walk to the final stage of Ilulissat's postbrevkasse, where we find the cache thanks to a hint from the cache owner, thanks for that! After that we pick up our backpacks for a final walk towards the airport, from where we fly back home. We had a fantastic time in Greenland, it’s a beautiful country!

We found this one whilst completing the blue walk on a glorious day. The weather really couldn't have been any better and the views were wonderful. The only downside was traversing mosquito valley later on!! We found the cache without any problems and it was in good condition. TFTC from Tasmania, Australia.
