It seems the pirates that roam the coast have taken brer rabbit's booty. Until we find a safer place brer rabbit will retire his cache.(B))
Well named - there were a few Brers taking cover in the GZ as I approached it. Unfortunately no sign of the GC - looked pretty thoroughly at the 2 ends of the bush that would correspond with the clue. Broken toilet stashed at one end and empty beer bottle at the other. Suspect it could have been removed or tampered with so suggest Coastal Roamers check it out.
After a wet night it turned into a lovely winters day for being on the coast. Calm seas and great views of Cape Kidnappers. Shame I didn't get to chalk the find up at the same time!

Enjoyed this walk even though we'd been walking to caches in jandals all day! Interesting spot, great views today. TFTC.
12.55pm. Brisk walk along the beach from Clifton with Pat. Salt air purified the lungs. At GZ while I burrowed under (like a good rabbit} the most prickly of thorn bushes (many of which I retain currently!!) Pat leisurely and far more pleasantly found the cache. I shall take him again.

Found after doing the tractor trip to the gannet colony. Lovely walk along the beach. Picked up a few pumice stones to take home. Did not see the T/B listed as being here. TFTC
TFTC took golf ball, left scissors...This one was a challenge... there were 'war wounds' but cache was successfully located, all in all good fun!
Found just as sun was setting. Made for a fantastic view.
Lots of rabbits bouncing around, think one of them was Brer Rabbit trying to protect his cache. There was no need for him to have worked so hard tho, as the thorn bushes do a great job of this.

As mentioned by Geckoh, lots of muggles camping close by, a bit of stealth needed. Nice little walk.

2864 Took a little while as muggles were camping right near GZ, they had the complete set up down to the portaloo! TFTC
Have had a couple of goes at this one and every time the place was muggle-afied so tried my luck tonight after working in Te Awanga for the day. Found no sweat( and no muggles nearby neither) TFTC
Nice walk, my GPS took me over a paddock because I approched it firm the opposite side from Clifton. As there are large pines nearby i got some bounce from my GPS so you may need to look around. TFTC

Got a little lucky finding this as co-ords still not updated. Thanks to previous logs - just keep following the barb, and then cache is about 2mtrs from the loo! TFTC
We are new at this and searched at and around the given location. Aparently it was in a toliet which we didn't see, and were looking under bushes. We just couldn't flush Brer rabbit out!
I am sorry for the error in the co-ordinates with this cache. I am not sure what was happening with my GPS. Am now attempting to change the co-ordinates again.
NOTE NEW CO-ORDINATES.
An enjoyable stroll along the Clifton beach, but mostly along the top of the sea wall which made easier walking. Followed the barbs and quite quickly we were flushed with success....somewhere in the vicinity of the broken toilet! How did that get here?!! Cache is there, waiting to be found. Co-ords need updating but the original ones will still get you there, just follow the barbs! TFTC.

OOps. An error occurred with the new position and the co-ordinates are way off so this is temporarily disabled as I am off overseas for a couple of weeks and won't be able to see to it until I get back. Apologies.
Hi Roamers
We were pleased to find your new cache today. We used the Helpful Hint, and tried the OTHER end of the barbs, Eureka!
You should know that the new co-ordinates which you logged on 9 April are in fact 37.3 km away from the cache!
Are you sure that you did not put in your home co-ords by mistake? Check the numbers of the new co-ords agaimst your original cache location co-ords, and you will see what I mean.
Thanks for the fun,
Dinodigger (10 yr-old) and giraffrey (Grandad) (10th birthday of Geocaching tomorrow, 2 May)

After numerous unsuccessful attempts to relocate the cache due to high muggle activity in the area it has finally been done. The new co-ordinates are S 39 18.002
E 176 58.718. Apologies to all who tried but were unsuccessful.
The old cache remains lost and is probably at the bottom of the ocean. The new position is hopefully out of striking distance from the sea.

Gave it a miss, didn't know if it was there or not. Please disable listing if there is no cache.
Just checking.....please let us know if there is a cache here or not? It isn't disabled so we presume the cache is here, but perhaps not. Don't want to waste time on our easter cache hunt.
We didn't read the most recent information because we printed GC information before we left for vacation a few weeks ago. So we found nothing examining all bushed around

Hi there, this is out of action for a few days until I replace the cache. It appears to be missing after the recent high seas. I have to return and find a new spot for it as the old spot is obviously in the firing line when the sea reaches 4-6 metre swell. Sorry for the inconvenience. Will attend later today.
Nice stroll along the beach for this one, the thorns on the bush ARE very sharp alright. TFTC.
Snazzy jazzy found it and the prickly bushes... Ouch. Took a travel bug and left a token. Tftc
A good walk along the beach. K was brought up with Brer Rabbit stories, so it was good to see the cache was where it was rather than under a tar baby! TFTC

Nice easy find. Great spot, had a picnic dinner with the geokids and watched the sea. Out spinning top, in bouncy ball and party popper.
TFTC and the beautiful view. New Zealand has so much coastline it is amazing.

Couldn't really go searching for this one owing to a bunch of bogans having set up camp right by GZ- they'd even brought a sofa, so were obviously in for the duration!
Hooray! My 100th find! It was only appropriate that this be my 'century,' given that I have a cache laid not too terribly far away. I love Cape Kidnappers. It was a great reason to return. TFTC!
Nice stroll out from the Clifton Moor Camp to collect JDSavannah's 100th Find! Congrats Jenn! xxx TFTC
just popped in to drop of a tb carrot

Found on a sunny day with a stiff sea breeze - got my first bit of sunburn of the year today. Nice little walk, I've never been this side of the motor camp before. - spider with some legs missing, + tobogganist. TFTC
We are back in the game after months of no activity. Nicest day we have had for months. Found easily and GPS spot on. Took Hippo and left Mr. Yellow Moo TB who has travelled from Cyprus and was getting desperate for a sea view...can't get much closer than this. TFTC.
had a good day out caching with the cuzzies and tribe of 4.. there are a lot of places you would never find without this sport
Easy find....and can I say what an amazing amount of lovely shells in this part of the beach. Collected a whole bag full. Thanks Carla
Easy to find with Mac on the team. Nice location. Built a fire, got hit by a wave, not a tsunami, as coming up to high tide. Had fun on a nice afternoon.
This is a very, very good cache. Really nice spot, a good walk, accurate co-ordinates, and enough potential red herrings at the site itself to make finding it anything but straightforward. It's got everything really. We did this one while waiting for the tsunami to come through so we were looking at the sea the whole time, but in the end it wasn't a problem. I don't advise going for a walk along the beach when there is a tsunami on your doorstep though - it's not good for the blood pressure. +/- Nothing. Signed log.
A Favourite Fishing spot of mine, especially early and late summer.

Yah a FTF. Well I got the notification while away in Taupo and was surprised to find the cache still in tact today so after work picked up daughter and off we went. The first carpark is ok if youw ant to wade throught the creek but we had our walking shoes on so off to the second carpark. GPS coords were spot on and took us to the exact spot. Not sure about the thorn bush ?? Luckily there is lots of driftwood to use to retrieve cache.
Easy find with an excellent clue. Lovely walk along the shoreline and it was so good after a day in the office!!!! Thanks for the cache and so well stocked too. In our rush to get there we weren't so well stocked but left a jandal. Took the TB and compass. TFTC
