Slacker owner maintenance but we are now back in business with a temporary log book and (big) cache. Hopefully safe until the coast gets another king tide!
Sounds like this has been lost to the floods. We will reinstate when we are down in the next couple of weeks.
On our way to hobbiton we made a short stop on this nice Cache and thanks for hiding
Our journey today bring us from Rotorura to Coromandel. By the way we found some caches.
Thanks for showing this place and hidding the cache.
Greetings from Germany!!!

We explore Coromandel. From Thames, drive via Coromandel to Whitianga and then Cooks Beach, Cathedrale Cave and Hot Water Beach. We had great views and fantastic scenery. We made hikes and puddled holes in the sand. And got us some nice cache.
Thanks to all the owners for the containers. Without the caches, we would never have found some nice place. Greetings from Germany the Moorhelmis

During our holidays in Newzealand we searched some Caches.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this box
arbor95
Together with arbor95 I am on a holiday tour in New Zealand.
We are two Germans, old friends since a long time. Together we visited a lot of other countries in the past, even before we started geocaching. [^]
For our trip we usually looking for some extraordinary caches.
Therefore we had mostly a lot of fun.
First we made it harder than necessary.
Thank You very much for this geocache, for the challenge and for the maintaining.
Greetings from tripleclaus to boy4life, lil_me34, shiboo23416.

Found during a clockwise circumnavigation from Tairua to Thames to Coromandel and back, primarily to gather info for the Coromandel Cemetery Circuit multi.
This cache looked intriguing, so I charged ahead and had my feet already well and truly wet in search of a particular kind of hide. Alas, I made totally the wrong assumption and ended up backtracking to the pleasingly large cache. I hadn't needed to get wet after all! TFTC

Last time we were in New Zealand and spend our holiday on the Northern Island – that was fantastic!
We landed in Wellington and from this great town we went through the island – we were near Mt. Taranaki, in the Tongariro Nationalpark, on Lake Taupo, in two Thermal Areas, in Rotorua, on Coromandel Peninsula, on the Bay of Islands, on the Ninety Mile Beach, in the Sand Dunes, on Cape Reinga and in Auckland.
All the time we visited there the main attractions – but we wanted to do our hobby (geocaching), too.
So we looked for the boxes next to the highways and on all the wonderful places of this very nice Island.
Here we could found the box very well, we say thanks to the owner and thanks for the cache.

A straightforward find. It's all in the access and the approach.
All in order here; log signed, then cache safely re-hidden just as found.

This was a spontaneous spot to stop at today - thanks to the geocaching app on my phone! A lovely area and my muggle hubbie found this one for me. He then took some great photos on the beach and a log and picturesque building, so TFTC and the opportunity to stop here
I came over to New Zealand to meet my son, who was staying for nearly six months on the other side of the world. Our intension is, to travel now for 4 weeks through this fantastic land and visiting a lot of fine spots on both islands.
Met in Auckland, our first trip led us to the Far North with some spectacular locations. It was a lot of driving, but we think, it was worth the result.
The second part of our travelling route led us to the south. Going via Hamilton with some fine locations, Hobbiton was an absolutely must of our "unexpected journey" . Went then to Tauranga with a hard upclimb to Mt. Maunganui, visited Rotorua to see lot of vulcanic activities, have had a lot of fun with Zorbing and Claybird shooting and drove then to Taupa, to doing Skydiving.
Napier with it's beautiful Art Deco district and the great Aquarium was the next stop.
Final destination on the North Island was Wellington, were we visited some great places and met some friends from Germany.
After crossing Cook Strait now we followed the east side of the southern island down to the most southern point of New Zealand.
Blenheim with its wine yards, fantastic dolphin watching in Kaikoura, the story of earthquake in Christchurch, following the famous coastline down to Dunedin with its beautiful and interesting places as well as the nice city of Invercargill were our main spots on this part of our journey.
Being in the South, the way now went up on the west coast back to the north. Crossing the Fjordland with its famous landscapes we've reached Te Anau to do a private flight over Milford Sound, then spend in Queenstown some time with the most spectacular activities ever done (Canyon jumping and Shotover canyon jetriding were some unforgetable experiences!) the way led us to the glaciers, up to the nice town of Westport and further to Abel Tasman Park to doing an unbelievable hike trough the park and an outstanding kayak tour with seal and bird watching.
Nelson, Picton; Cook Strait was waiting again for us.
Then it was time to starting back to the north. But first of all we catched the oldest cache of NZ, one of the oldest in the word. That was a must before we took our way via Palmerston North, Whanganui, Oponake to New Plymouth with stops on beautiful places.
Due to bad weather in the mountains it was not possible to do the Tongariro Crossing, so we decided to go straight north to Hamilton and then further to the Coromandel peninsula, where we spent the Easter days. Wonderful days with wonderful weather and fantastic places.
All will come to an end, also this outstanding vacation. We drove back to Auckland, where we performed the revenge of our Drift Kart competition and took then the airplanes back home.
Of course, even if was is not our main activity during this holidays, we were looking for some caches, which are laying beside our route.
So this cache was one of those, we've picked up.
Many thanks to Boy4Life for this fine cache and best greetings from Germany.

the cache was easy to find but to find a way to the cache was more difficult, tftc.
We did not have to jump the stream but our GPS to get to GZ easy in the end. Signed the log. TFTC
Thanks for the cache. I found it on 22/02/16 at 4:55 PM. Beware the southerly approach! The side of the stream is muddy and deeper than it looks! Nice spot for a quick find though.
1501 Decided to come from the north side. Just as well as I would not have been able to jump the stream following the recent rain. cache all good.
We formed a team of four, keylev, thebrownehornet, He of HeMaLuDy and me to try for 50 caches that are separated by 1km or more all in one day. This is to meet the requirement of one of the GIO challenges. Just was we got there, someone figured out the puzzle with the cache name. Very good name!
Where is Gorby when you need him to go down to a difficult hide? The tide was in so I was elected to go down the difficult side to make the grab. Fortunately, it was in a good location and I kept my feet dry. We signed the log as SEAC. TFTC.

Working on the Geo-Licence series and needed to find 50 caches in a day a minimum of 1km apart so a plan was put together to take a trip to collect them along with Agazo, Mrs HeMaLuDy and thebrownehornet. I left home at 8am and returned just after 10.30pm clocking a total of 476km on the car. The scenery was awesome and reminds me of all that is great in New Zealand.
Love the name and then we worked out what it stood for . Soon knew where we needed to be. We were on the correct side and it was a quick find.
Thanks for the cache.

Keylev and Agazo hatched a plan to collect 50 geocaches 1 km apart for their GIO licence, and thebrownehornet was also going along for the ride. At the last minute Mr HeMaLuDy said he could manage the kids and school pick-up, sports etc so Mrs HeMaLuDy decided to tag along too - I'm not sure he was expecting us to be home quite so late as he tried to keep the kids up until I got home but finally put them to bed around 9 (we were home around 10 pm).
We drove pretty much around the Coromandel Peninsula to achieve the goal, and collect a few extras as well. A great day, amazing weather, incredible scenery and very few DNF's.
A nice easy find here by Agazo.

An enjoyable day driving around some of the upper Coromandel with Waiiti20. Enjoyed the fun find. TFTC
We found this easier to grab from the northern end after scoping out where it should be. TFTC Boy4Life, #8410
This was very well hidden half the problem is getting to it. Taking the TB to greener pastures. TFTC
It was easier I found from the Coro side too. Nice spot for a cache. Thanks for that. Big log book good for writing decent size comments.
There was too much water in the stream to be able to jump it this afternoon, so made our way down on the Coromandel side then walked under the bridge to GZ. Soon spotted the cache then clambered straight back up. Thanks.
Easy find on the way back to Auckland.
Just in time before the heavy rain really kicked in.

Looked in several wrong places before I got the correct house. Once I got into the right area it was an easy find. TFTC
Yorkshirekiwi83 and I were heading back to Auckland from Coromandel and stopped to find as many caches as we could along our way. A quick find after dropping down to the cache, surprised to find a large cockroach living inside - so soon got rid of him! TFTC!

Our last cache of this holiday. Fun cache notes and a good sized cache. Enough room for a sea elephant and a Danish flag that we had picked up on the Pony Express trail. TFTC.
thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found on our way to Thames and Coromandel. We loved the beautiful sights and good caches during this trip! TFTC and greetings from Belgium.
Today we decided to go to The Coromandel Peninsula, and on our way back to the motel in Paeroa we found some caches along the road.
With the good hint it was no problem to find this one. Thanks for the cache.

A nice day between rainy days on the Coromandel. There were plenty of swifts darting about looking for insects but not much of other bird varieties. Took Cached Out TB. Thanks, J & G
A quick stop while heading back along the coast towards Auckland from our long weekend away in Cooks Beach. Couldn't make sense of the hint at first but cache still quickly found. Dropped TB for moving along. TFTC!
No idea what the hint means (and most of the cache page), but found the cache anyway. Thanks.
Another weekend... Another mission... Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I are working on several challenges right now. Who needs sleep anyway... (It's overrated). By the end of today, we will record our longest caching day to date (21 hours); complete a circuit of Coromandel Peninsula; find lots of caches; cover a huge number of kilometers; and race against the heavy rain forecasted for the region...
We found the cache description to be a little off-putting, especially in darkness. Our thoughts of jumping the stream were not helped by the raging water flowing by. We could have easily given up on this. However, comments of its apparent ease, coupled with some helpful photos encouraged Gap to search and find this one. TFTC.

On another road trip with Squirrel Nutcase to collect the 309 trail so thought we should pick up a few more caches as we passed. Started our adventure at 6am Saturdayy and back home 3am Sunday with 91 caches in hand. Best ever day caching or should I say day and a bit.
10pm - Very wet but still able to get cache without falling into high tide. SLTFTC

YeoGeo4, Alpenmilch80 and I met to head to the Coromandel and then Whangamata to hit as many caches as possible, in a fun filled day with great company we far exceeded our expectations of how many we would find.
Dropped down a bit too far orginally but after further hints from the others, got there in the end, thanks for the cache

Stream was a bit high to jump over so took the slide down the grassy bank approach to this cache. Thanks

A fun find heading back home to Auckland from the new 309 trail in the company of funkymunkyzone, rosmar and Tufty. I was the only one who hadn't found it so made my way down one side, jumped the busy stream and located the cache before scrambling back up the cache side. Thanks!
On great tour with Lemmer in New Zealnd we foundamazing spots. Thanks for all of it. Flatrate
On the other side of the world we had an amazing experience while traveling New Zealand. Great impressions, lovely places and nice geocaches all over. Thanks for inventing and hiding. Lemmer
Found after some searching. Greetings from Sweden! Found Jan 17 but no WiFi-access for loggenhet until Jan 19.
Found this one during our month long campervan/"Road trip" vacation in New Zealand. It was a wonderful experience driving around this beaurtiful country.

Cruising from Whitianga to Auckland. A quick find after a small scramble. Thanks for the hide
Not as tricky as expected although jillopy let return2nai do the hard bit! TFTC!
This had been our first trip to New Zealand. We spent three weeks here in this amazing country, which is unfortunately quite a short time. We saw a lot of gorgeous places, met very friendly people, could see the different landscapes like deserts, rain forests, glaciers and oceans. And of course animals like Kiwis (never thought that they are so big), dolphins, seals, glow worms, penguins (I love the blue ones). It was hard to say good bye and go back to the winter in Europe.
We hope to come back one time...Greetings from Germany / Switzerland.
On our way around the Coromandel we made a stop at this place. It was a nice find after the right place to search has been finally found, which took us a few minutes. But me managed to keep dry .
Thank you for maintaining the cache.

New Zealand 2103 trip for the Auckland Mega at Albany. Day 5, Miranda to Whitianga. It looks like I was in the wrong spots. I did not manage a find here, even though I did keep dry. The alarm going off in the house next door was quite a distraction. Thanks.

This was quite fun to watch hubby look for this one while I remained up on the roadside. The wet clay bank of the stream and slippery jandals made him do a comical dance at the stream-side, although he recovered himself well. Then on the way back his jandals got so stuck in the mud that I could hear the squealch from where I was, as he retrieved the jandal manually. He took the long way round after finally deciding the boggy clay bank wasn't worth risking a muddy bottom for. A woman and her two dogs came to ensure we were not doing any harm - which we weren't, but we didn't enlighten her as to why he was down there at the stream-side while I looked and laughed and gave navigational instructions from the box-seat. A large water canister in the car, which we usually carry for such geocaching experiences, soon had the little excursion's mud rinsed off. TFTC
A bit of searching to get this cache in hand but perseverance generally pays off
Thanks for the stop

Lots of muggles fishing and passing by but managed to stealth with our cameras. Love the play on words, very clever! TFTC
