On our way through to Ranfurly. A good pull over for our bus. All nice and dry here. TFTC
As already daid the reserve isnt more than a pull over spot but most suitable for us in motorhome.TFTC
Google Waihemo Grange, James and Grace Chapman had stewardship of the Grange for 40 years from 1899.They also donated land for the Dunback domain, tennis courts etc, there is a plaque there.
For my last day in Dunback I decide3d to try for the caches West and East of here.I couldn't locate this one so with the CO's permission I replaced it. It is now a 200ml Sistema container.Cheers for the cache, Bitsprayer.

After spending time (and caching) in Ranfurly and Naseby I was now heading via the Pig Root to North Otago. Picked up a few caches along the way. This one was a reasonably quick find. #4964. TFTC.
This took a bit of scrambling around before the prize was sp. GPS wandered a bit here. Thanks for putting this here
As we pulled over to start searching for this cache, a car that had followed us from the previous cache area, pulled alongside and enquired what we were up to. The station owner nearby had seen us and thought we might be poachers that they'd had problems with recently. Once we'd explained our purpose, we spent the rest of our journey laughing at the thought of our being mistaken for poachers. Soon found this cache tucked away and signed the log with Flamingo4850. TFTC.
A quick find, on my roadie, cache all good.. gathering a few of yours bitsprayer and there's plenty! tftc
Went out today with the aim of changing green boxes on the map to yellow, but unfortunately a few blue popped up too. Most of our finds were nice and simple, but a few took a bit of time.
More a gravel pull over area than a reserve which is a shame. Cache found quickly and logbook signed off. Dropped in a tb. tftc

A nice quick find today. Cheers.
And now it is time to head home. Today we started from Alexandra, and travelled through the Pig Root. Once we hit SH 1 No caching! (As there re none left)
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Headed to Naseby for a weekend of caching. Awesome weekend for this!! TFTC

I am wondering who Grace is as well - I am pretty sure my grand dad lived down this road as a child and also made money rabbit hunting in this area during the depression
Quick find - on my way home but overnight tonight in Naseby

A quick park and grab while out about heading to Cromwell for new years eve. Grabbing a few caches to get my numbers up so I can crack 2000 before the end of the year. TFTC
Thank you Grace Chapman for creating a space for a redeeming feature and thanks Bitsprayer for seizing that opportunity. TFTC # 11,476
Planned a bit of a trip up Dansey's from Ranfurly to get a few caches. But halfway up decided to go all the way over and back via the Pigroot. Unfortunately I was unprepared and hadn't stored all the caches along the route. I also didn't have the GPSr/phone charger. Many were therefore missed but this one wasn't and a great day was had. Thanks to the COs.
On my way from Alexandra to Oamaru, I wanted to find some caches along the way. Another quick stop; the cache was found quickly. Thanks for hiding!
Quick stop on our way to Clyde for the long weekend via the Pigroot. Easy find. This was going to be our morning tea stop but it wasn't overly exciting so decided to wait til our one after the next which fingers crossed would be a FTF. TFTC
After watching the all blacks win the world cup, my muggle friends and I were buzzing and as it was a nice day we decided to go to St Bathans via the pig route as a fun road trip to get some sun and take advantage of this long day.
It's not much of a reserve but it is there for future use and it is always nice too have somewhere to pull over if need be.
Heading home to Blenheim today and had to make a few stops to grab caches. This was a QEF, thank you!
Found with coastalmartinis. TFTC

Driving back to Blenheim from Ranfurly/Patearoa was already going to be a loooong drive but we couldn't resist doing a wee bit of caching anyway. Sadly we had trouble finding a signal for many of those we'd written down but this was successful. QEF with the kidlets.

Heading for home (CHCH) after a lightening fast daytrip to Ranfurly for a family funeral. No time to grab any caches on the way in this morning...trying to grab a couple on the way back.
Quick find and sign in the rain. Cheers.

Thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found today on our way from Naseby to Ranfurly, Palmerston and Moeraki. We had a beautiful day with a lot of found caches!
TFTC and greetings from Belgium.

What little purpose this reserve may have had is lost behind the piles of chip
Surely is a mystery why this reserve is here. Cache found quickly and off to finish a couple more before heading home.

Day 3 of our 5 Day end of year geocaching trip. Today was our biggest day with 75finds and 4DNFs with most of them being park and grabs. A quick find here. We dont know who Grace Chapman is either but with a name like that this cache was a 'must do' and a prefect place to start our gracie7+Mum signature trackable tag. Sorry for the late log but Thanks for the cache [purple]Our cache find: #3254[/purple] | [green]Cache of the Day: 26/75[/green] | [blue]Cache of our trip: 93/235[/blue]
A quick find to help the journey take longer. There is a plaque at the Dunback domain that states "Chapman Park. Presented to the Waihemo Domain Board

Found on an afternoon heading home from Central with the intention to do as many as I can before it rains and it just started as I got here.
Found with Chosen1978. A scramble up and over gravel and soon found and signed. TFTC
Co-ords about 12m out for us but was an easy find using the hint. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
A clamber over the gravel piles then a reasonably quick find. Tucked it back into it's hidey hole then we're on the road again. Found with debsnz
No sign of Grace just huge piles of gravel at gz, but cache safe in its hidey hole - TFTC!!
Found on our trip to New Zealand crossing the southern island.

Was in Dunedin to attended the first ever Mega in New Zealand. Managed to work it out so that I was able to team up with -gonefishing-, fozzmiester and agcnz on an 8 day caching trip around the South Island, this was day 6 of the road trip. Today we were leaving Dunedin region and making our way to Oamaru for the night and picking up a few caches on our way.
After finding GC24J9A - Take a Break (East Otago), this was the next cache that was on our list that we wanted to find today. We decided that we would take a small detour via SH85 and go inland and take a different route towards Oamaru.
Making our way along SH85 Dunback - Morrisons Road now. We neared GZ and we managed to find a parking spot not too far away from the cache and from there we made our way to the cache. Reading the hint we soon realised where the cache was going to be and decided to trust our GPS to guide us close to GZ, and from there this was a quick and easy retrieval, signed and replaced the cache back as found.
Thanks Bitsprayer for placing this cache here and for bringing us to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (5171). Another great little reserve, really enjoy visiting these areas.

A quick find but not so much of a reserve as a council shingle store. TFTC Bitsprayer.
Found as part of an epic NZ Mega Event trip. Day 6 - Dunedin to Oamaru via Ranfurly and Dansey's Pass with agcnz, -gonefishing- and Yeetrees. Thanks to the owners of the 500 + caches which I had the pleasure to find along the way and which contributed to a very fun trip.

Found on the great post-Mega roadtrip with agcnz, fozzmiester and yeetrees. A great trip from Otago to Wellington, taking in many backroads and some fantastic scenery along to way to over 400 caches. Thanks to all the cache owners for the great caches we found on the way.
Thanks for the cache, Bitsprayer.
