Wow that was an adventure to get on let alone out, very happy we stopped for this one even if we weren't mentally prepared
What a mission!!! Small, hints in the log are really helpful look for the tree fern
We made this one harder than it should have been. There was a lot of bush bashing. We found this a good 10m out on both GPS units. Ones Garmin and the other cachly. Try these coords if you are having no luck. Look for the big tree fern first! S 038 24.721' E 144 59.628'Phew. Oh. Is that a LEECH Thanks BushwalkingBandit and clear skies from TeamAstro. Like an Amazonian I scrambled through the jungle looking for the elusive gold. I balanced across slippery giants, brushed away the stinging needles of poisonous trees, swallowed some type of creature that Im sure Im going to regret. But all was not in vain! Under the umbrella of a prehistoric plant, deep in the bowels of something that will be carbon tested in a millennia, yet to discover if I have freed any leeches from their captivity, the Aztec was found , radiating in my hands and returned to its tomb for future Raiders to discover. POSTSCRIPT.1 leech was liberated! Thanks BushwalkingBandit for showcasing this area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
Holy crap, that was a hell of a bush bash! My phone coordinates were off but my wife's was more accurate. Finding the tree fern as mentioned in the description really helped out. TFTC!
Spending the week at Rye and found whilst caching in the area. This took a bit of bush bag I g and scratches to get to. Eventually found it. Thanks for placing the geocache
Well this one has us up and down the log freeway until jumping off to broaden our Ferny search. TFTC.
Well that was an adventure. Chose our entrance and started bush bashing our way In. Eventually can to a huge fallen tree and thought ok this is it due to previous logs. We used it as a highway to avoid all the tangled bush. But once we got near the top realised the cache was still 30 meters away. Leaving my tired geocaching partner I made my way through until I found another fallen tree. Surely this is it. One last scramble and the fern was in sight. Soon had the damp log signed and uses the old cooee to find my partner before once again bush bashing out of there. Btw. There are leeches. Put my phone down to sign the log and picked up a hitchhiker that was determined not to let go. Guess he wanted to phone home. Tftc
Fun bush bash on sunny winters afternoon. Bit of a hint from the previous logs and we found it soon enough. Great spot!
Took a little bit to find this one as the trees hindered our find but soon had cache in hand and signed with riotgirlckb
Back down Sth from Sydney for a week. Out for an early morning walk in the Main Ridge Nature Conservation Reserve. Gee this one was a challenge. Was damp, cold, drizzling and no clear geo trail. Lots of serious bush bashing and I had a few leeches which joined me. Thankfully most of my exposed skin was covered, but they still made it on my hands. Thanks to the name I amazingly located the hide, how did the COs find this location!! More of a challenge getting out, I simply lost any trail and needed to climb over lots and bash bash, flick the leeches, phew found the main track. Cache in good shape. Thanks for the hide BB&N&BN absolutely a fav for the memories #2016
That's an impressive tree fern. Everything in good order despite the fallen tree litteraly 1ft away. Tftc
If there’s anything such thing as a dirtbag fan girling another cachers hides that would be me , over the years of caching I’ve seen this cacher produce some
Amazing adventures and caches and hope to continue seeing more , especially if the rumours are true and they may be relocating not to far away from me
Surprised this one has survived the fallen tree
Thanx for the Adventure BushwalkingBandit Stay Dirty ️

We walked many planks to find the lone survivor. Had to read past logs to find the cache. Nice little reserve to meander in.
TFTC! 12 February 2023 3:54:44 pm 4781
Lots of bush bashing here! No leeches thankfully.
Miss read the hint, and looking for something else. So went looking for the fern instead. And stumbled upon the cache. The bash was ok, but no both trails!
Work arranged itself rather nicely this week giving me a period of six days off. I spent a bit of time working out which direction i wanted to head for caching fun and decided to have another go at Melbourne and the surrounding suburbs. I then took quite a while coming up with a list of caches to target, there are just so many possibilities! I packed, had accommodation sorted, and even had a muggle caching buddy lined up to do the driving. Perfect! Too perfect... . Plans changed at the last minute and i came down to the city solo and without the accommodation option. I wasnt sure if i would keep the rest of the plan or head for the hills instead.
Well i ended one day and im still here this evening, i have decided to persist with the plan for the time being. Time will tell if it stays that way.
The tree fern the log and the cache have all had a miraculous escape recently. A huge tree has fallen within centimetres of the fern and right across the old log. The fern lost some fronds but that appears to be all the damage sustained. The cache is perfect. I managed to catch a snap of the mighty guardian whom i suspect saved them with their arcane forest magic.

Interesting walk bashing through the scrub to this one. Quick find once there al in good condition. TFTC
This was so BLOODY hard to get to with all the bush & when I finally got to the spot it took a while to find ! Then had to find my way back, luckily my partner was yelling out to me Thanks so much for this one One of the best I've done ️️️
Read previous comments and wasn't going to bother but I was on the walk today so I thought I'd check it out. GPS showed that it was 60m still to go but right into the thick overgrown bush so defiantly decided to leave it.
After finding my targeted cache on my Friday night caching run, I still had some time to collect some more geocaches. I selected this location to collect a few more.
T4, really? This was barely more than a small off track bush bash. It was nothing like the geocache that I found on Tuesday - [https://coord.info/GC9AF5Q](https://coord.info/GC9AF5Q). That was a 1 hour pure bush bash, but is only listed a D3.5. Mind you, it was a Dirtbag geocache and they everything is easy.
Mind you this this geocache did have 2 leeches, but I removed both before they could get under my jeans. The geocache was quickly found with great coordinates.
Thanks for the cache Bushwalking Bandit

Wow this took a bit of effort.
I just hoped my car keys didn’t fall out of my pocket as it would be interesting trying to retrace my steps to find them!
Luckily there was no one around as i would have looked a picture emerging from the bush with leaves and twigs in my hair. Thanks for the challenge!

A day out and about with Bogonghazy on the Mornington Peninsula.
A great walk to retrieve the 4 caches in this area. Thankfully this had been found recently and provided a well trodden path to the cache. Log signed and once back on the track, a quick look for leeches but thankfully none were present or attached. Thanks Bushwalking Bandit

Out for a day's caching with Sorceysal down on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
This was well worth the walks here to grab these 4 caches in the area.
This was the favorite of the faves for me, and was lucky that it had only been found a week earlier, meaning there was a discernible trail into it. Always up for a challenge, and rewarded with these magnificent ferns around GZ.
Thanks BushwalkingBandit, fave added naturally

That’s the most bush bashing I have ever done to find a cache! I was pretty careful not to damage the Bush land and what a beautiful area it is! Thanks a lot for the amazing adventure
This one certainly earned it's 4* Terrain rating.
A 70m bush bash to GZ. Felt wrong going off track but I was as careful as possible.
Took about 10 minutes to locate the elusive cache once I reached GZ.
GPS was jumping all over but I happened to look up and see the lone fern.
It wasn't long till I was signing the notebook.
It was a lot quicker heading back to the track.
Thanks Bushwalking Bandit

Picked this up early this morning was a challenge getting to the gz, bushes and scrubs were very dense gz looked amazing though with the sun shining down on the ferns TFTC
Went to walk along what seemed to be the right path to this one but this big fella was blocking the path! We will come back on a colder day!
Bush is seriously overgrown but we made it in the end... cache is in good order. TFTC
Out with son cacher while making a delivery of games. Stopped to check out this nice native area. Beautiful day for it as there was plenty of shade as it was 37 degrees and the only living thing we met was the local dog. After doing the nice easy one in the same area this was a real challenge, Looked around to see if we had missed a trail but then realised that we needed to do it the hard way. I was not really dress for it with crocs and shorts and tree coverage does not help with settling down to GZ. We branched out and son T made the discovery. Forged through and signed all. Glad it was to hot for the wrigglies to be out. Now to find the track. We were soon of gravel again. Thanks for the cache4 BushwalkingBandit
The bush is certainly dense here. We were 5 metres from GZ and couldn’t see the tree fern.
Loved the adventure and was glad of the snail trail on the GPS to find our way back to the trail.

We bushbashed our way down to the gully while in the area picking up some other caches, now knowing why the terrain was so high. A few scratches were made on the bare legs but luckily no leeches were found
Thanks BushwalkingBandit for the trek.
Thanks BushwalkingBandit for the trek.
Bush bashing through to the valley, boy was I pleased when this one was found! No leaches today as it was quite warm, thank goodness! Some scratches certainly occurred though! Thanks so much for placing this cache BushwalkingBandit
Afternoon out cause it’s been a while. Picked up this easy cache in a beautiful reserve I’ve always driven past but never stopped.
Interestingly this cache has just been replaced but was sitting out in the open. Recent animal activity has disturbed it. Replaced in same spot but off to the side. TFTC

New cache in place. Please ensure that the cache is placed well inside its hiding spot. There is no need for this cache to get wet. Cheers bwbandit

###**CACHE OWNER ACTION REQUIRED PLEASE**###
----------
I've noticed this cache is carrying a maintenance log which really does need to be addressed by the cache owner.
The guidelines indicated that periodic visits to check on the cache, as well as prompt attention to any logs that indicate there is a problem, are part of the [**cache owners responsibilities.**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#listingmaintenance) If you can't attend to the issue promptly, then you need to [**Disable it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235) - I have Disabled it for you this time.
**Can you please respond to this situation (or indicated your intention) by 17th August,** so others know exactly what is happening with this cache?
You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:
- Repair and/or Replace your cache or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.
- If you don't plan on fixing it up then please [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
- If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (by 17th August). Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when I next look at the cache page, it is likely that I will unfortunately have to de-list (Archive) it on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the instructions posted above.

WOW!! This one was a bit tricky and required lots of bush bashing and exploration through heavy bush land! We found it after much hunting but it was full of water so we couldn’t sign. Just an FYI for others with small family who go caching there are leeches around this one and a LOT of them!! My 6 year old spotted two on her top and before we knew it all of us were covered in them!! We did a mad dash to the car and flew home to strip off and check for any more! I don’t know how to manage this but I’d assume thick long clothes would be best
Hey!! We found the cache today but it was full of water and rust and the log was way too wet to even attempt to sign it. Might need replacing just a note though when we went today we found the cache and then realised we were all covered in leeches! Make sure you don’t have exposed skin so you don’t become leech lunch thanks for this one was a great challenge
Great reserve! Loved the sense of exploration to find this cache however the log was very wet so i couldnt sign, i did hide it a little further in the concealed area to help avoid more water damage, (the roo's watched me hide it!) :3
Spending some time picking up the other caches in this area so came for this one too.
Some SERIOUS bush bashing for this one. Once I found my way in, there was evidence a lot of others had been there before me by all the flattened grass around the GZ. Searched in vain for about a half hour with no luck, then as I was ready to give up, more by luck than anything else I saw the One thing that made sense here. A bit more bush bashing and TA DA cache in hand.
No idea how you found this spot originally but well done.
Thanks for the cache

Couldn't find this one after half an hour of bush bashing the kids were getting bored so we had to abandon the search
It's all in the name, another easy find however required some clearing of thick bush the log is a bit damp though
As sun already started to set, I didn't invest too much time in the search at GZ. As satellite reception was dodgy as well, I might have investigated at the wrong spot either.
Well, maybe another day.
Well, maybe another day.
This cach was very hard and if your afraid of leeches don't do this because we got leeches all over us
Hey the track was good until my GPS said I needed to head into the bush. Bush bashing was in order. Got to a spot and it was starting to settle. A scan around and something took my eye. Soon the cache was found. Log signed and all back safe again.

Where to begin lol I has been warned about this one by my niece who had already done it but I do like a challenge. Worked my into the scrub following the GPS through what started out as almost a trail perhaps a roo track, pretty soon lost that and got engulfed by the prickly bush. Round in circles I went getting more and more prickled and more and more entwined in the bush. At this point I realised the GPS was struggling too much with the tall trees and wanted out. Trying to get out I came across the cache signed the log and thankfully found my way out! Relieved to be out and done I paused to kick myself for not getting a pic off the cache just in case some critter takes off with it. I highly doubt this would ever get muggled lol. Driving home feeling a bit weary but pleased with my finds I noticed my leg was a bit moist felt my pants and froze with the realisation of what it was. Composed myself turned into a quiet side street and stripped the pants off and found not one but two leeches happily sucking away on my legs! Got them off inspected the pants for anymore and drove home to write this log have a shower and maybe a Valium or two lol. Seriously though it wasn't actually as bad as I remembered it to be to find a couple of leeches on your legs and I would still go back to this Park maybe wearing a onesie next time!!! Tftc oh and log was a bit wet but still signable.
Before work today I had planned to go for a drive to my Dads house to pick up some stuff. But before I did all this I thought hey I should get the other two caches that I had missed the last time I was in Main Ridge.
This was the first of two caches that I found today. A quick stroll in to near the GZ I quickly realised that this is going to require a bit of a bushwhack in order to reach the GZ, and after finding a suitable entry point I made my way to GZ. Getting to the cache and finding it was rather simple and before long I was back at the car. It was here that I realised that there was a passenger aboard my leg, Needless to say Mr leech was not welcome. Anyways thanks for the cache and the lovely stroll in the reserve.

I was down the peninsula on an early morning caching run and after a find further south I headed to this reserve. It's a lovely spot and was nice and peaceful as I had the area to myself this morning. I strolled along as the sun dappled through the trees and worked my way though the caches. After a find nearby I walked on to this one and had to bush bash a bit (only expected given the extra terrain rating) but the vegetation wasn't too dense. My third find of five for the morning. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache BushwalkingBandit.

I usually love a good bush bash - however this area has a sign out front saying this is a conservation reserve, and the flaura and fauna are protected. Can't help but feel like this cache placement deep off track is working against that.
Thanks for the find.
Thanks for the find.
Was nearly going to pass on this one, but myself and the kids persisted through the scrub and found the loot, when we come back out on to the main track my wife was following me and discovered a leech at the top of my plumbers crack haha, witch she then had to remove because I could not see it. Happy new year.
I have been staying in Capel Sound for the past four days (a few months ago it was West Rosebud but Capel Sound sounds a lot smarter) and I have been trying some GCA caches with mixed success. Today I was driving along Mornington-Flinders Road and my new GPSr indicated that there were four caches in this reserve.
This was my second find and I nearly gave up but persisted as I was having so much fun following my GPSr. I am sure that there was an easier way to the cache as I ended up with lots of scratches and scrapes on my legs, At least I didn't find any leeches (as mentioned in previous logs).
Thank you BushwalkingBandit for this cache.

Ugh. Why, oh why is there such a great cache in such an annoying section of the reserve? Almost gave up when we saw the leeches (or rather the leeches saw lunch - oops - us). But finally the cache was found. Thanks for a great cache in this area.

I was actually working today driving my bus, I had a drop off for a corporate Christmas Party at a very close by winery, with a few hours to spare before pickup time I decided to grab a few caches, easier said than done, trying to park a bus is a little tricky but not impossible. I am sure there was an easy way to the cache, but I did not find it, bush bash in and bush bash out, am sure I should not do these in my bus driving uniform. Thanks BushwalkingBandit for the cache.
I have to say this was the hardest I've done terrain wise as I'm fairly new to it all and with a 3yr old wasn't the easiest feat haha now have to find our way back! Wish me luck! Oh and log was wet but was still able to write on it.
Found today on our adventure through the forest. Thank you for a magical collection of caches
While we were in the area, we continued on down the track and then had a bit of bracken bashing in a confusion of tracks to get to GZ. Taking the hint seriously the cache was quickly found at 16:20. Our joy was quickly dampened by the the discovery of leeches on our trouser legs so we beat a hasty retreat. TFTC
In the reserve doing another cache so we decided to do this one as well. Thick scrub confronted us so, only a few hardy souls entered the bush to look for the cache. Reached GZ but the GPS kept jumping, a check of the hint and after a few misses found the cache. Log was soggy but we were able to write on it.
Out caching with the family and did a cache nearby and decided this one should be completed at the same time. Required some bush bashing, something that I have experienced before completing others in this series. I enjoy it some others in the party waited on the track.
My deepest and sincerest apologies for the absolutely woeful logging time for this cache. I currently have a backlog of 460 found it logs from the last three years. Yikes! Obviously, many of these will be difficult to remember and with such a big backlog I simply have to do a default log (other than a few special favourites along the way). I am writing this on the 18th of May 2019, when this log is for 03/09/2016 Thanks to all of the owners and sorry for the pitiful log!
Compared to Bushwalking Bandit's 'Camp Buxton' this was a walk in the park!
Followed the main trail for most of the way then headed bush for the last 50m or so
Top experience being in the bush with light rain falling and not another person to be seen or heard
Cache was found in good condition with little difficulty. Many thanx to BushwalkingBandit. Love your work

Despite our realisation that we would have to undertake about 250 metes of bushbashing we decided we had to persist because our objective was to find all four caches in the reserve today. Mrs was a bit apprehensive but her instincts worked well. Trouble was Mrs' sense of direction is not too great, however using our last find nearby as a waypoint it we got some idea of how to get out! TFTC
Well this was quite a bit of fun. I'd be more hesitant in summer, but it seemed an ideal activity for today. I ended up circling the cache a number of times over before looking in the right place. Surprised I didn't end up collecting some leeches. They seem to be quite fond of me, despite my poisonous, not-fit-for-donation blood! Thanks BushwalkingBandit!
Too much bush bashing for us today. Fear of leeches & not being appropriately dressed, we have up. Have another go when we're dressed for it!!
