I really like finding old school caches and have a list , I am trying to complete. I was a bit worried about finding this one because of reading all the logs, so reached out to a friend for some help beforehand just in case and luckily I did because my paces were 20 metres out every time. I found waypoint 1 after walking in circles for a while, I think I thought it was going to be bigger, then I spent quite a while at waypoint 2 before spotting what I needed, then thankfully the final was found in great condition with no problems, I sat for a while reading some of the old logs. Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
These black beard caches have been on my to do list ever since I started playing this game, so with a chance day off from domestic duties, I was able to visit the area. So ! After reading the previous logs and having my trusty compass and gps squeezed into pockets, I started and quickly found the rusty bucket and required info for WP2. I sighted up the bearing and paced out the steps to a likely location but needed help as I think my long legs got too far off the next WP. After a few messages and some good replies, the next required info was in hand and off to WP3 which was easily found. Now onto the final with conflicting info, so a PAF was needed with a car load of geocachers coming back up the coast, with a description of the final resting place. Yeah! Cache in head. Did the legals and replaced as found. TFTCM Cheers dkmacca
I am back visiting from Brisbane for a few days while my husband is working in Sydney. I met up with wazza9 and Nana Nel at Sutherland Station for an epic day of geocaching. I was very keen to find the three 2001 multis in the Shire and wazza9 was happy to revisit and check on them. We drove to the start of a track and set off along a lovely bush trail to the posted coordinates. Even though the rusty beast was quite hidden in the undergrowth, I soon found the information needed. We then made our way to the next waypoint, information found, and then to the next one. This one took a bit of searching but it was eventually found but the container was looking a little worse for wear so wazza9 replaced it. It was then a bit of a bushbash to gz. There were a few levels here but luckily I was on the right one and soon found the cache. Yay! Wazza9 brought along a nice new ammo tin so everything is in that now. This deserves a fp for the fun and it fills a hole in my Jasmer. Now onto the next one. Tftc
At Picnic with the Georges GC246C. I undertook Community group maintenance this morning in the company of a friend from pre caching days, so good to catch up.This is a 3 stage Multi with information in the chariot parked at the start to get you on your way. I know that there are no tools to provide you with coordinates at the following WP's but that is what makes this Old School cache unique. Modern cachers need to understand that they are not always going to be given a WP or GZ location. This is a cache you have to work for and even though I have been to every WP several times, we still had problems at WP2. All WP's were found to be in place and in good order. I did however replace the container at WP2 as it was starting to break down. At GZ we found someone had added lollies to the container that had softened and left a big mess. These were removed and the container placed back into an ammo tin previously taken by someone. Thanks to all the finders who do the right thing and help to keep this cache active. Visited trackables.
OMG this was hard work. None of us could find it till a PAF made us realise we were on the wrong level. An expedition to Sydney with a group to pick up an oldie and others. Not a bad day weather wise but muggy. Thanks for getting me out and about Blackbeards Pirates
Hi,I am looking after Picnic with the Georges (GC246C).Can you tell me (PM) what the problem is and needs to be done please.
We made a last minute trip to Sydney today to pick up some old caches and high D/T caches and others in between. It was a pretty good and successful day in the end. Not too hot, no DNFs and the time seemed to fly by. We also found 2 leeches on us and some cuts and scratches. But no other major injuries were sustained. The team today consisted of - Joolay, Kittykatch, Aquilus1, Tankengine, albida33, minniek, fitzy_1969 and I. This cache: After a long search of WPs and trying to work out cryptic messages, we had to paf for the final stage, which gave us a good direction to head in and finally found the cache after a bit more searching. There were some interesting elements found though and the mystery of the place grew for us. There are some sharp grasses around here too with Aquilus1 being sliced - our blood sacrifice was made to the caching Gods. Not long later the wonderful words of I found it were heard. Tftc!!!
Headed to Sydney with fitzy_1965 and a hard die bunch of Canberrans for a quick caching mission. All caches found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.
A day trip to Sydney to avenge a previous DNF on a great old cache. With the cache find a success, Tankengine, Albida, dty73, kittykatch, joolay, fitzy, minnieK and myself continued on for a day of great old caches and challenging puzzles. As well as other cool caches as we passed. The day was a lot of fun, the weather kind and the DEET our saviour! Loved the bush with great walks above creeks, awesome rock formations, with good people and great teamwork. Now, the leaches! OMG, they were plentiful, and huge! Which brings me back to the DEET!We did search the wrong location first, so much we were confident it wasn't there. A PAF had us shifting our thoughts and location where the cache was easily found. Plenty of scratches and blood, the reeds left their mark during the search, but an old cache like this, it was worth it! Another cool cache visited.
Day trip to Sydney. I was really happy to be invited to join this trip. The main goal was an old Multi most of the team started on the last journey. Today, it was going to be finished. We had also worked out a series of tree puzzles along a walk that looked like it would be quite a challenge. To end the day we targeted two other old multi's, and we just managed to get them in, but had to defer the virtual nearby, maybe because we spent too long exploring the Como Reserve area where there was so much to see. The team today was Joolay, Kitty Katch, Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Aquilus1, dty73 & Tankengine. It was an early start with a few tough walks, so the breaks we had were greatly appreciated. A long but entertaining day with very successful caching targets met.We set out for this one as the last for the afternoon. We had to glean quite a few hints and directions from previous logs for this one. It was a real challenge to translate the instructions to where to go across the ground. One slight assumption had us looking in the wrong spot for way too long, but as we gave up on that we moved through the scrub to a few other likely areas. It was the third area that provided a great spot and the cache, still in wonderful condition. Dry and plenty of space in the log. From here we decided to skip any of the other targets on our list for the day and head to the highway to drive back to Canberra. A great day and we would not have been so successful without this great team supporting each other. Thanks for the cache Blackbeards Pirates45359.16 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & August 2023 Trail Tunes A#534**Albida**
34,077. Found with minniek and our wonderful group including Joolay, Kittykatch, Tankengine, dty73, Aquilus1 and albida33.Today's mission included three 2001 Golden Oldie caches (two for minniek and I), the TFTC Tree Climbing Series of puzzles, and a number of additional caches in the vicinities of those caches. An early start when we were picked up in Goulburn by Kittykatch, and after a quick breakfast catch-up in Marulen we were all on our way to Sydney. After one golden oldie multi and the TFTC series were found, then the Como caches, we had a relaxing lunch in Engadine, then made our way to this special cache. Parked on the side of the road and took the plunge. Followed a variety of instructions and it took quite a while with the whole group searching, but in the end albida33 came up with the goods - Yay !! Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, and then it was back to the cars and off home to clean up and have a cold beverage or two !Thanks Blackbeards Pirates and those local Cachers maintaining this golden oldie cache.
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 Aquilus1 albida33 KittyKatch Joolay minniek and fitzy_1965! On a nice overcast summers day. Humidity was under control as well! We were all nervous about ticks and leeches, so we deeted ourselves up to the max! One or two still got through, but we survived! This was one tough cache! But ultimately we got there in the end! Near WP3 I managed to find a shovel and some neatly arranged rocks - I hope nothing sinister was at play here! Pics attached. It was a long day, leaving Canberra at around 6.30am in two cars. All in all, a great day's caching before the long drive home. TFTC!
Found with Joolay, albida33, dty73, fitzy, Tankengine, Aquilus1 and minniek on a caching trip to Sydney. This took some time to find and we were happy to phone a friend to get some advice. I had just about given up when Albida yelled those magic words, Found It! So cool to find two of Black Beards old multis on the same trip. The cache does need some maintenance though if there are any locals keeping this old cache alive. We only found it because we could ring a previous finder. Thanks for the hide Blackbeards Pirates
Take 2 today. I ended up purposely overshooting WP2 and trying to find it again on the way back. Just as I was rushing back to the car for a meeting, I found the "you've gone too far" landmark. After a quick search I did not find it but I have a good reference point for the next search.
DNF'ed today on my way back from the Yeramba AL and bonus. Found the initial instructions but need to retrace my steps from there to the next. Thought I found what looked like an appropriate hiding spot and some material that did not belong, but no further instructions. On my way out, I found an object much like the first, but nothing there either.
Finally I can put my name into the logbook of this classic cache.
I’ve stared at it on my maps for a long time now and today was the day to conquer it. I had no difficulty finding wp1 thanks to the generous help in previous logs and then onto waypoint 2 which I was standing right in front of when I finished pacing my steps.
The next waypoint took about 5 mins to find but I was delighted to have directions to the final.
I under calculated my paces pretty badly for the first time during the finding of this cache. After branching out I found a much more hide rich area and the cache was soon discovered!
Thank you for the cache!

OCW Meritonnn after leaving Sue at home to hand feed the King Parrots.
We revisited WPs 1 and 2, gave up on WP3, then made the long and arduous search for the cache. After a few minutes Meritonnn had CIH after checking a very nice hiding spot. After SL and replacing it, I crouched down to check out the hide. It certainly was well hidden.
TFTC and thanks wazza9 for maintaining this cache.

A couple of weeks ago, Dan from SueDan83 invited me to head out and grab another Blackbeard's Pirates cache 'Two Ways'. In doing some research on that cache and the cache owners, I inevitably stumbled on their 2001 hide 'Picnic with the Georges'. It sounded interesting for a variety of reasons, being that it was a 'golden oldie' which had just celebrated its 20th birthday, was proper old school requiring compass use and pacing (or at least that was the original intention) and last but not least - the saga which had unfolded over the last few years with missing WPs and the majority of past finders possibly finding and signing the incorrect cache log. Intriguing to say the least! When I caught up with Dan to look for Two Ways, I mentioned to him a cache I was interested in finding. Lo and behold he'd just been speaking of it himself, having DNF'd it about a year ago. So plans were made to have another go at it and today was the day. After parking the SD83 Geo-mobile, we set off along the track until we reached a point where we needed to cut in. Bush bashing through, we found WPs 1 and 2 without much trouble. WP3 was not found unfortunately, but we had sourced the co-ords for GZ just in case knowing that the previous finder had not been able to find this WP also. Once at GZ, after a few minutes of looking around I managed to get into a position whereby I noticed something warranting further investigation. To my delight, the cache was well hidden within. Fantastic to be able to put a smiley against this historic cache. Thanks for the original hide Blackbeard's Pirates, wherever ye be plundering these days, and thanks to Wazza 9 for his efforts in keeping this one alive. FP for the intrigue and the adventure!
WOOOOHOOO!
This was a FIND that I wanted to make! The rare hidden month was a perfect fit for one of the few last gaps in my Ausmer calendar. But damm did I have to work for it!
I stumbled around for 10 minutes at WP1, coming up empty before I decided to check the logs. I should of done this earlier, as I saw wazza9 had given the exact location of this waypoint in his log. So I soon located the old car, the correct headlight, and the tag that was hanging off it! Phew!
Walked through the thick scrub to WP2. But I was wayyyy off. So decided to just search for the 2nd car instead, which people had been using to find the waypoint. Only took me about 5 minutes to find the car a short distance away, I then went a few paces back from it, and eventually found WP2! YAY!
WP3 was never found however, I attempted to follow the instructions again, but I searched and searched for about 30 minutes with no luck. I extended my search by 20m then 50m and more and more. I was unsure what I was even looking for at this point, but remembered reading a log, something about the cache being 100 metres away from a waypoint.
So I went 100m from WP2, must have walked past WP3, but soon found myself at another prominent location. SURELY this must be GZ! After another search, I was ecstatic when I finally found the elusive cache well tucked away! OMG!
That was certainly tough, but I was so glad to find it as I drove about 40 minutes here and spent a long time working on it, and several years looking at it on the map thinking "one day...!"
Thanks Blackbeard's Pirates / local community for keeping this rare cache active all these years!

Hi all,
The history and nature of this cache are very special. It is a Community maintained cache as it appears the CO's are no longer caching and had all WP's in place when last found on the 6th July.
A string of DNF's will bring it to the attention of Geocaching.com and I am requesting that you write a note please instead please.
You can phone 0487 579 824 or message me any time for help but it might take a while for me to reply.

We were doing the AL and made the slight detour to try for this cache. WP1 was quickly found due to the updated coords + hint. We got out our old Silva compass, lined up the required bearing then started pacing. One, two, three, trip, stumble, what were we up to? We over estimated the distance and after backtracking found WP2. However, we couldn't find WP3. Bad luck.
This is a nice idea for a cache. Thanks Wazza9 for maintaining it.

Well this was a bit of an epic. I was visiting Skyebomonkeytown to assist her with a project she is currently working on. She wanted to show me this area so we went for a walk after parking on Henry Lawson Dr.
I knew this multi was here but wasn't that confident at being able to solve the field puzzle. I found Wp1 easily enough and like others, I wondered how on earth this got here. The instructions were soon discovered and off we went. I was pleased to have SBMY along as she is a previous finder. It's very difficult to be able to pace out the distance through the bush. Eventually, we got to GZ where, after about a 15 minute search, the cache was discovered. Nice little hiding spot there. It's great to be able to nab another "Old School" cache.. Thanks to Blackbeard's Pirates for the cache and to Wazza9 for maintaining it.

Sorry that you have problems with Picnic with the Georges (GC246C). Just about every cache located in the bush at present have mossies.
I am trying to keep this and ILLAWRONG going as long as possible for the history. If they get archived, I will replace them but the history will be lost.
All Blackbeards Pirates caches are hard and they no longer play the game.
The way it was set up, there are no accurate coordinates for this cache, it is all bearings and steps. The start is below the waterfall in the right front headlight of what is left of the car wreck. There is then a WP1 from the information I have placed there. However, my guess is that this person was well over 187 cm tall so had very big steps.
Coordinates placed in logs by others will take you to the start and WP2 and the information there to GZ. If you feel you can't get this cache and want to visit all locations with the coordinates, I have them for all 4 locations and I can provide them to you. Just let me know via message.

Without having researched or read the prior logs geofamily and I ventured out to WP1 today and had no success. Having just finished raining, we were attacked by mossies making it a rather unpleasant adventure, and the waterfall at WP1 was making for a slippery search.. We searched without reading early logs (which I now believe would have been helpful). Geohubster has said he won't be coming back with me - hopefully less mossies next time!
This Multi-cache was on our target list to undertake today and so having just found another "golden oldie" in the Heathcote National Park we set off towards the start of this one. We parked up and walked towards waypoint 1 - it took some searching for but after having widened our search we came across a likely looking hiding place and sure enough there was the container with the information required to lead us to waypoint 2 (on finding this first container our GPS was 11 or so meters out and reading S 33 58.580 E151 00.369). We continued on to waypoint 2 where the second container was quickly located by the taller Mr Team GBS whose longer stride had him within 4 paces of the second treasure which was within sight of the object mentioned at the initial waypoint. The container at waypoint 3 was the hardest to locate, but after having expanded our search the treasure we were looking for was at last spotted some 15 meters from where we had projected from waypoint 2. We were then able to set off towards the final treasure, but Pirates be sneaky, as after a further expansion of our search in the Ground Zero area we had projected, the treasure was located some 25 meters away, but then it’s not easy walking normal stride paces in the terrain of the waypoints or at the final - either that or our paces were getting shorter while the pirates strides were getting longer! - but we found the containers at all three stages as well as the final treasure and so are happy to have gained a well deserved smilie! Thanks so much for the cache and a favourite point awarded for the adventure and for keeping this golden oldie in the game - plus with this cache find we now qualify for the "Old School Challenge - New South Wales" Challenge cache! Greetings from Zimbabwe
After striking out at finding the GZ last time i knew id be coming back to try again.
Im preparation this time i read back a way in the comments and was able to tease out some vague hints but nothing concrete and nothing that made the search easy.
I again parked on Amberdale Ave and headed back along the track to the coords id recorded for WP2.
I retook the baring and walked back to the location i was checking last time. Another systematic check of the area with my new hint as to what to look for turned up nothing.
Casting my net further afield i began a big search and after over an hour of bush bashing, looking in caves and overhangs and all manner of other hiding spots i finally saw it.
I was hot and bothered but when i held the cache in my hand it was worth all the trouble.
Such a satisfying find.
Thanks wazza9 for keeping this one alive.

Well that was a bit of an adventure.
I turned up about midday after parking on Amberdale Ave and heading down the track to the WP1.
A short bush bash and a bit of a search later and i soon spotted the directions to WP2.
I took a photo, opened the compass on my GPS, headed towards the next WP only to find that my phone had slipped out of my pocket somewhere after leaving WP1.
Panicking i rewalked the distance a number of times before heading back to the car heading to 8r0ns0n’s place to pick her up to give me a hand with the search.
Heading back to WP1 i opened the Find my Iphone feature on my ipad, set off the alarm and was able to find the phone.
Feeling much relief i repaced the route from WP1 and was able to pick up WP2.
After about 45 mins search for WP3 i decided that id come back another day to try again.

Came out today to giving son a driving lesson and grab an old school cache. It took a little while to negotiate the WP but it was a quick find after the last waypoint. Thanks Blackbeards Pirates for keep this one alive. Cheers

I’ve had this cache on my radar but always assumed it would take too long but today was the day I have earmarked for the find.
OCW PelDroedGwin I read the logs on the way to a nearby parking spot and off we went to the posted coords, not feeling too confident.
A quick find at WP1 boosted the confidence slightly so off we went to WP2.....our projected area meant we didn’t come across the second car mentioned so we moved right a little and soon spotted it. I was lucky to find the info in the first place I looked !
On to the next and this time I made the find with 5m of my projection!
The next WP shook the confidence again as we seemed to be in an area that didn’t match the description in the clue but after again moving sideways it felt more likely and again we made a relatively quick find given the number of hidey holes here!
I am so pleased to have my name in the log here and all done without a PAF...... it was definitely our lucky day as I can see how this one could have been a bit of a ‘mare.
A big thanks to Wazza9 for keeping this one on track.

OCW the Bebes. Wow, this one could have taken us all day but a combination of skill, caching senses and luck had us complete this one pretty quickly.
Wp1 was pretty easy once we found the object in question. We plotted our course for Wp2 but breezed past the location and search where we thought the cache should be. No luck.
We looked for the second car in question. It wasn’t past the location and then the Bebes spotted it 30 or so meters back. We headed over and the Bebes quickly had CIH.
Next Wp was pretty close to our calculated coords but a tricky hide. We searched for a little while and then the Bebes (again) spitted the hide.
Next calculation had us end up on some flat rocks, not like the description at all. We extended the search and found a location about 40m away that looked likely. Wouldn’t you know it the Bebes found the final after about 2-3 mins of searching. Luck or cache senses I just don’t know!!? Glad we found it though.
Really liked this but it does need a little persistence. Tftc

Came through with the team of phlphotos, alnic39 and JJCC and arn't we glad we did as if we had come by ourselves we don't think we would have found it without a PAF. As phlphotos found out at the beginning of the month, a considerable about of time was spent searching for the waypoints, but alas couldn't locate the final. With the earlier DNF he reached out for some assistance and armed with the new information we all came back for a team effort. Fittingly phlphotos made the find at GZ, so with the cache in hand we all signed the log then replaced as found. Thanks for the multi cache "Blackbeard's Pirates".
The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling.

Met up with phlphotos, team Merlin and JJCC to celebrate The Duke of Edinburgh's 97th birthday. How cool that we all got a day off to geocache for the old bloke. Or was it for someone else? Speaking of royalty, Sir Phil had been working on this one in the weeks leading up and was talking about it on Cockatoo Is last weekend. I can't say that I was of any use...I'm usually just there for the ride. I do like this kid of ride though.
#1930 Well that was harder than it was supposed to be. After finding listed with the info for the next location it then took 15 minutes to find WP1 information then I took 45 minutes trying to find the final on 2/6/18 without luck
Today after not seeing my name in the Queens Birthday Honours List decided to meet with teamMerlin, Splitty Miller JJCC & alnic39 to try to polish of this cache after the failure that I had last week by myself. But before we headed off we had got some info to help with finding the final.
So they didn't miss out went to the 2 WPs I had found last week. The instructions may need to be checked as they are out.
We all signed the log in old form and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition apart from missing a B. Thanks for the multi cache "Blackbeard's Pirates" & to the group who has kept it alive

Over the last couple of years I have looked for this cache one time I found a melted container but it was too far gone so don't know if it had anything to do with this cache of just in the vicinity. Today thought I would give it ago now that all the coords had been rejigged so off I headed enjoyed the walk to listed, been to this spot many timed and soon had the details of what I had to do next so off I headed. Got to the area and set about looking spent 15mins here looking but not finding anything to help in the end. Checked the photo of the info at the listed coords. I'm 10 metres passed there & that was a different went back there and followed the ridge looking in all the likely hides then spotted something a bit further along. This is about 30 metres shorter than where the info at the listed coords says to go and a different angle.
The info at this spot again tells degrees and steps so set out on this direction and end up not far from where I started spent 45 minutes here looking into all of the little caves under overhangs in cracks behind rocks at least twice but by now I am running late & I had hoped to have got at least a couple of caches before I got where I had to.
Got home and saw SBMT got the cache on the same day but with a phone a friend. So I sent for a lifeline and found the same PAF but at an event the next day. Have to come again with reinforcements
Thanks so far

Wow. I was showing off the area to a muggle friend and we decided to “have a look”. I was surprised to see a car along the way - how??? Anyway, I couldn’t find the “container with a green lid” and was ready to give up, but my friend wasn’t. I eventually called a PAF, who spoke to a recent finder on my behalf and by the time they called back I had found WPs 1 (not in a container at all) and 2 (a small container with a yellow lid but with grey camo)! The final was proving more difficult and although I was all for getting my steps up, this was way more than “40 paces”. I was then provided the coords the PAF’s PAF had locates the cache at - definitely more than 40. However, once I was at GZ the cache was easily spotted, as was an easier route out (always how I roll). As I was wondering through the bush I must admit I was quite surprised at the number of rusty vehicles around - just how did they get there??? Thanks for the fun on the first winter Sunday this year.
This is the last one for the day, now I have had more than enough exercise. Reading precious logs and sheer determination another oldie completed. TFTC
Well this was a bit more challenging as i didn't join geocaching that long ago. We finally found it as a joined effort with wilbert67. It was a good cache although we came back completely covered in mosquito bites!
Finally an easy find today! Don't know why it was a struggle on all the other attempts

As previous finders have mentioned, this is not an easy park n' grab. The coordinates and projections proved to be challenging - yes, that's an understatement. Thankfully we were not alone in the hunt and by sheer determination and considerable luck we came up with the goods. (I'm tempted to include our GPS readings in the log but feel those already posted - some being close to 40m off - have added to the confusion rather than resolving issues so I think I'll pass on that thought). On the upside, we weren't pressed for time so we spent a goodly chunk of the morning ferreting this one out. Good to have it ticked off. TFTC.
I had no previous intention of voluntarily attempting my Jasmer Grid. That was until a Jasmer Challenge cache was published close to home – so I now have little choice but to work on it. Looking through my statistics I realised I didn’t have too many unique months of the grid to fill in, but it was going to be a real pain in the neck to work on.
Since then I have come to realise that there is something slightly special about completing caches Pre-2005. “Old School” caches have a certain level of historical value within the geocaching community. It was my observation that these caches that have withstood the test of time are either difficult to interpret, hidden in places that wouldn’t get many vistors, or the coordinates are off significantly. Regardless, some of the caches have been reasonably rewarding to find. Thanks to all the respective Original Cache Owners - and Current Cache Guardians (if any) – for maintaining these special gems.
November 3rd, 2017 was a good haul. I organised to travel North with some of my geocaching associates. I had filtered through the selection of “Old School” caches in the Sutherland Shire and reduced that list down to 5 unique Jasmer months that I needed:
• (November 2001) Picnic with the Georges - https://coord.info/GC246C
• (July 2002) Transposing Oats - https://coord.info/GC7244
• (September 2003) Bug Powder Dust - https://coord.info/GCGY1K
• (June 2003) Blue Midget - https://coord.info/GCGC6C
• (March 2004) Balls - https://coord.info/GCHYA5
The day started out at Picnic with the Georges. The walk in was easy enough. Waypoint 1 was found without trouble (thanks to an image hint). We struggled with the rest of the search for this one, due to very sketchy directions. It was our observation that coordinate projection is grossly inaccurate. We ended up searching along all the rocky outcrops along the line between the 2 car wrecks until we found the container for the next set of instructions. Waypoint 2’s coordinate projection was significantly worse. A PAF was the only thing that stopped this cache from being near impossible. We located the final cache nearly 100m beyond the suggested pacing. With the names in the logbook, we were glad to tick this one off and move on to the next cache! Thanks for the experience.

It seems that the instructions at the start for this cache had gone missing again.
I have revisited all the WP's and GZ this morning and replaced the missing one.
Given all the postings over the last few weeks of coordinates for WP2, there may be very few people interested in doing it as it was designed by Blackbeards Pirates and going to visit WP1 using the method he proposed.
This is what you will find at the start
"Welcome to the search for me treasure. Here ye find a sunken land craft which has made it’s way by mysterious means to this location. To recover the treasure I buried about’s here and enjoy your Bounty, ye will need to make ye way to 2 way points and locate instructions in the same format as those provided here. Take a walk for 70 to 75 paces on a bearing of 348 degrees. If you get to the car, you have gone to far."
Photos have been taken of all locations that can be made available if you need them.
This was never set up as an easy cache and all the containers are hard to find. Just have fun.

A couple of things made me attempt this Cache today.
1. 2001 Old School
2. #600 Day Streak Milestone.
3. Celebrating 4,000,000 hearts on Periscope.
After discussing this Cache with Brewmaker Himself on a recent FTF paddle. I decided to grab it today. I spent 30min at WP1 to no avail. Before plugging in Brewmaker's Coords for WP2 (WP1 is missing) (still a little out due to tree coverage)
S33 58.571
E151 00.384
Still a hard WP to find, and after checking out the instructions (OLD School) I managed to use my trusty Cachly App to set a GZ for me.
Once at GZ I still had a few likely spots to check before I had CIH.
I loved this old school Cache that I 'periscoped' my adventure for my Overseas followers to check out what a 16yr old log book looks like.
I wrote an old school log in the logbook, before a few photos, and placing back.
Beautiful winters day, with a great cache... what more could a Cacher want.
Cheers

I was reminded today that this was a 2001 cache and I really should grab it while I could.
I am sure I had attempted this some years ago but had let a revisit lapse. I have enjoyed a lot of Blackbeards Pirates geocaches so this was a must for other reasons.
I had no luck at WP1 and from what I gather, it may not be around so grabbed the coords from previous finders for WP2.
I had been out cycling in the morning and was famished having not had a decent feed for the day so my mind was not working right and stumbled once or twice and got a small stick injury on the shin (not the first time.
I eventually found the right spot and the cache was soon in hand.
I must look for more of Blackbeards Pirates caches.

WP1 seems to be hidden by the undergrowth and sunk into the soil and leaf litter. The coords for WP2 are S33° 58.571' E151° 00.384'. From here follow the instructions inside the canister for GZ.
On a chilly Winter's afternoon, GeodudeAU and I decided to go in search of this old 2001 booty. With the info from the previous logs ready to use, we soon found the old ship(car)wreck at WP1 but covered by the plenty of undergrowth. Searching where we believed the container should be placed without any luck, I tried a PAF or two but they couldn't remember as it was such a long time since they found it. It looks like it has gone by the way over time. We decided to head off to look for the other wreck mentioned by others in earlier logs and while GDAU went ahead through the bush, I stopped by a rock to send a few messages. Just as GDAU called out that he had found the 2nd wreck, I stepped away, and saw what looked like SPOR right under me. I uncovered it and unbelieveably there was the film container that wazza9 had located all those years ago with the original WP2 information by Blackbeard's Pirates and wazza's amended instructions (though a little damp)! What a stroke of luck?
So taking the number of required steps in the given direction we arrived at some slightly open space and no obvious sign of where a cache could be hidden. A bit further away we headed off in different directions and started searching amongst the rocks. Eventually by brute force and patience I spied something lying on it's side by a rock under a large overhang. Opened it up and there was the replacement logbook (as in the photos) and plenty of goodies in a cache still in excellent condition. What an amazing amount of luck we were having today!
After reading through the logs and taking the TB to move on, I replaced it on a ledge as it looked like it had fallen from it's location. I hid it behind some SPOR and then took a coordinate check so I could check the distance from WP2. The only confusion was that it wasn't in an ammo can (treasure chest) as indicated by wazza's photo, but a sistema container.
This deserves a FP simply for the fact that it is still going after 16 years and that we somehow found it by chance. There have been easier hides that have taken me more than one attempt in less dense bush areas! The geogods were watching over me today! TFTC.
Now - what's the go with Jim&Marissa? There is no evidence of their signature in the logbook (see photo) and their online log (23/05/2015) has no mention of the difficulty that this multi requires, just some baloney about house hunting! This is not the first time they have done this for difficult caches it seems! They have cost wazza and nana nel about 15 months of unloved days with their "fake" log! Is there anyone who can delete it as they don't seem to play this game fairly.

Brewmaker and myself decided to go in search of this old school cache. I had tried once before but came up empty-handed at WP1. Now armed with further information I thought it would be easier. But it wasn't.
We arrived near the posted coordinates to find the wreck but could not find the information required to proceed to WP2. After about half an hour of searching we widened the search area. I found the second wreck, but it was Brewmaker who stumbled across WP2 accidentally. What a miracle. Now we knew where to head to find the final cache location.
We headed off in the direction but eventually but found ourselves in an area that didn't seem right. So we turned towards a more likely hiding area only to discover many possible hiding places. Once again it was Brewmaker who stumbled across the cache and we were both very relieved to sign the log.
Good luck! TFTC .
RIP the previous finder, E de F.

This was the last cache left in the Sydney basin that can help me with the JASMER challenge so pretty much a must find! A beautiful morning for a walk in the bush, cool, fresh clear, really enjoyed being out in it. The cache was a bit frustrating though, I had some old information which turned out to be wrong, I think but it is easy to get confounded by the plethora of WPs and which ones mean what. I did find WP2 and tired to follow its advice, but when that didn't work, and I wasn't sure about the units I contacted some previous finders who confirmed BIG steps but also a different quantity of steps in one case?
Anyway thanks to their advice I found the cache and was relieved and very happy.

Found WP2 fairly easy and made it to GZ quickly as well, I think, but then gave up after an hour of search, must do the steps over again?

I've been chasing down the TB in this cache for over 9 months. Finally bit the bullet and went for the longish drive to an unknown part of town. Having read the history of the cache, I suspected I could be in for a tricky search. Took the B@W approach and enjoyed the stroll from the north to the posted coords.
Searched for a good 15 minutes, read some logs, searched again, tried a PAF (who was busy) searched again - slightly further away. Just as the PAF returned my call, I had my hand on a container. But when viewing contents, it was labelled as WP2. It seems from the logs I'm not the first to have this experience. Followed the (amended) instructions and still ended up a bit short, but after a very brief search, had my hands on the booty. Added another 'X' to the log book and retrieved my treasure (TB). Not satisfied with the shortcut version, I had another hunt for the first clue but it was to no avail. Dripping with sweat and tired from swatting mozzies, I surrendered, taking solace in having signed the log.

After the CITO and some local caches at the CITO I suggested to JordsAU we were not that far from a 2001 cache so it was decided to head over. We tried a couple of access points before settling on Kennedy St and headed down the track for the 500m track walk to the start. Some plundering was done in a few spots before the waypoint was found. We followed the directions and soon came across another unsea worthy vessel before homing in of the next way point. Some more instructions and we were not sure of the boot size of the pirate but knew it was big and with a large array of possibilities we hoisted the flag and called a fellow pirate. His co ords put us a little closer but still out today. Final instructions were received and we headed off noting a previous pirate had listed some more regular sized pirate steps and with a bit of searching a likely spot was identified and the hide found. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Gutted to not be able to find this really old cache. I made it a top priority to come out here to look for it, but after an hour searching, we found just a marble at GZ. A marble that might once have been in a cache? Who knows!
25/5/16. 12:18 PM. Cache #3874.
I bin wantin' ter plunder this 'ere "old school" booty fer many long years and finally had the Dutch to sail o'er an' give it a try. I docked at Henry Lawson's just to the south and made me way to the beginnin' o' the hunt. So many trees on this here isle were playin' havoc wi' me signal and after a lot of frustrations, I thought I'd see if another pirate could help me out.
They led me to an earlier shipwreck a ways off from where I'd bin searchin'. After I looted that I knew which way to go an' I headed off to another wreck, thinking' I could do the same. Still stuck I sought help again and found I'd been led too far. Some pirates be havin' big strides that's for sure. I needed more help to find the next bit o' booty, but got it in the end and some more instructions.
These I found a little easier and then when the other pirate got back in touch wi' me, oy were near completin' me job, in fact I describes to 'im where I be 'eadin' and 'is silence was enuff fer me ter know oy be rights near me plunder. An' thar she is!
Oi thanks me feller buccaneer fer given' me lots o help (I sure done needed it) and then after speakin', I grabs the booty and reads the logs of many cap'ns that were 'ere before. I leaves me scrawl and drops in a travellin' bug to pass its time 'ere.
Thank 'ee Blackbeards Pirates for this original multi and thank 'ee wazza9 for bringin' it back to its former glory. An for me lots o help. Arghhh fer the arrrghhhhh!!!

} : )
The GPS said we were right on top of it but couldn't find it anywhere. Now I'm covered in bites and scratches with no booty
Found with the Geowife and Aries44 - apparently we found WP3 not WP1 and continued on from there to GZ. Thought it was a bit easier than we were expecting....
TFTC and thanks to Wazza9 for the maintenance.

Found with Mr and Mrs D this morning. I was already looking around WP1 (as I thought) when I heard a familiar cry echo through the bush. The D's had arrived.
An intensive search ensued and shortly after Mr D came up with the goods. Out with the compass and off to the next WP. The next way point turned out to be GZ. That was a short multi we were thinking. Turns out there a re two further way points that we some how missed. Great morning caching. Grabbed the TB, visited two geocoins and signed the log. TFTC Blackbeards Pirates. And an extra thank you wazza9 for "reviving" cache.

Thanks to all those who have provided guidance, help, information and ideas toward the continuation of this Great Cache.
The general agreement from the feedback was to return it to the 3 stage 2 WP Multi that the CO established back in 2001.
This was achieved by finding WP2 by accident in it's original container and confirming with Martin cousins that we had found the original cache location. tronador was able to provide the information contained in WP 1 and by working backwards from WP 2, I was able to locate the remains of the container (photo attached). The new container is in a more confined shelter about 1M to the right which I hope will protect it from future fire. From here I was able to reconstruct a bearing to the start, establish a number of steps (my steps are possibly smaller than Blackbeards so there maybe a difference between WP's) and place a container with the information at the start. Due to the continued natural destruction of the housing for this, it may need relocating from time to time or the provision of a shelter. Finally, thanks to Zalgaraith for removing the spoiler information that prevented this being a Multi.
Today, I completed the final duty. I returned and relocated the 2L container that everyone has found since 2003 to the original GZ and placed it in an Ammo container for protection.
I added a trackable.
This is NOT an easy cache and will require you to provide time, a real compass with the skills to use it and patience. The WP's are NOT easy to identify. I have photos and coordinates for future reference if they are ever required.
Good luck

Now it all gets complex.
There are 7 other people watching this cache. I am looking for your comments via message please.
I returned this morning and placed a new instruction under the RH mudguard and at the WP that tronador gave me with the instructions it contained. This provides all the information to take you to the container we replaced on the 19th.
However, I paced out the direction to the WP we found and upon arrival I thought I would check somewhere we didn't previously look. There it is, the container and log that everyone has been signing since 2003.
I have added Martin cousins, Nana nel and wazza9 into the log and left it there for the time being. This is obviously not the container that Blackbeards Pirates restocked in 2005 with their Bounty.
I will upload photos of the front pages of both logs. Obviously, this one has all the history. It also shows that Jim&Marissa didn't sign the log for those interested.
I am now looking for group feedback via message please. Should this container stay where it is (I can remove the 2nd WP which is 3M from the container for the other one) or should the log be moved to where the WP's take you? Should the spoiler in the log by Zalgaraith stay or should people find this the hard way?
Thanks

TFTC and the adventure Blackbeards Pirates.
Now let the saga of this Pirates Treasure begin.
I am not out to say anyone is wrong for finding what they have found, but I believe that if you find a cache it has to be the correct one and from the time I first looked at doing this cache, things didn't add up. it's possible that only Martin cousins and us have found this cache since 2004 or 5
Our first attempt began on the 17th October 2015. We (Nana nel and myself) did a lot of research before going to the beginning of this Multi and as stated in the previous note, we did more research while we were there and worked out it was more than a 1 stage Multi.
We chose not to place a DNF because it had became a work in progress. We contacted the last known confirmed finder Martyn cousins 01.09.2013 (because of the photo posted) and asked him to confirm what we suspected. To his knowledge, it was a 2 stage Multi, but he hadn't been to the stage located by tronadore 26.04.2008.
This is the stage left out by the short cut provided by Zalgarith & Zhaomin in their found log 24.09.2010. The problem here is that everyone since goodness knows when, possibly soon after 21.01.2005 when Blackbeards Pirates did maintenance on the cache have been finding a duplicate which no longer exists.
As stated by Martin cousins, the cache was full of water. I have brought the GZ container home to dry it out. I was surprised to find that apart from the comment on the front page telling you that it was "Picnic with the Georges by Blackbeards Pirates", there WASN'T a single signature in it.
I have placed a temporary container at GZ while I work out how to resolve the issues which require the replacement of the containers at WP1 and WP2 and removal of a Final container if it still exists at WP3 (with tronador's help I hope), contact Zalgarith & Zhaomin and ask them to remove the instructions in their log which take you to WP3 (a very well hidden container) and contact the CO.
How do I know we found the correct container? It contains a very special something that I believe no one has found in the containers they have located. Based on the lack of evidence provided by finders since Martin cousins, I am assuming him to be the last finder of this cache.
This cache gets a favorite from me. If I could give it 4 favorites, I would. It is not possible to complete it without taking exceptional care with your GPS compass. We found it today because we gave up and went back to basics and used a real compass.

Today was the day, that not long after arriving in the area of this multi, I had stepped out the paces as suggested at WP1 or 2, when Wazza9 came over and we started searching and was about to go elsewhere, when we decided on this big rock (there's plenty of big rocks in the area ), while I was looking behind the rock Wazza9 came up trumps. What a find...... the container supposedly put there in 2005 with no signatures in the log book. Until the mystery is sorted. Thanks to Blackbeard Pirates.
Out on an adventure to find Picnic with the Georges, after more than 2 hours of searching every rock crevice in the area, Wazza9 found a wp container, I got excited that it was the container, but not today.
TFTC Blackbeards Pirates,
At this time I am writing a note until I can sort some details out.
It is also a chance to visit the trackables we have with us and if all proves to be OK, I and Nana nel will convert our notes to found.
I decided that it was time to have a go at this Old School Cache this afternoon and did some research before leaving home with Nana nel.
Armed with the descriptions from previous finders including instructions from Zalgariath and photos by others we set out at about 2PM.
At GZ, the old car was easy to find and we followed the directions to what we believed was going to be GZ. With everyone indicating a container that ranged in size from 2L to 10L, we looked under every rock without success for over a 1 hour period. It was time to PAF. Well 3 in fact, not knowing one was being treated in Hospital in Canberra after a fall while Caching. The text to PAF 1 gave us coordinates for a WP2. While searching there, PAF 2 called back and indicated where we should be looking (exactly where we started). While there PAF 1 came back with coordinates for GZ which was where we were.
None of this agrees with the description provided by Martin cousins. However what we did find was an original WP container with instructions. For the time being, we have placed a log sheet in this container to show our visit.
We followed these instructions in this WP container and came up with nothing. After over 2 hours, we are now wondering if muggler activity has relocated and shifted or taken containers away. We also located the remains of a fireplace. I will return with a compass to get more accurate reading before completing this log. Once finished, it will be worthy of a favorite.
I will edit this when I have sorted some details out. I am questioning the find by Jim&Marissa 23.05.15 and am assuming that the last real finder was probably raindoctor 25.02.15.

Fiund a way ooint followed the ckues and other peoples comments. Was there for two hours and nothing. Needs to be checked if its still there.
Took the family so didn't stay long - found a waypoint but couldn't track down the loot. Will have to return alone.
For quiete some time now we're looking for an apartment / a property in Sydney (and it's surrounding) and found this cache after a viewing, thanks for it
An early morning cache run to make up for the fact that I hadn't geocached with geodad in awhile. Found the head of the walking track and was a bit sad to see it so neglected but soon after we were on the path and I was impressed with this beautiful hidden bush walk. As I'm a bit gen y I was smsing on my phone rather than watching where we were going and I missed the waypoint! Backtracked a bit and then followed Zalgariath's instructions. They lead us straight to the cache! Thanks for the cache. Always enjoyable to find a bush cache that hasn't been found in a while! Boy that car is well hidden!
Have been eyeing this over for a while, knowing how thick the bush around here can be. Still, thought I'd give it a go this afternoon.
Unfortunately no luck - found the rusted car and followed Zalgariath's instructions, but there were MANY possible hiding spots. After almost half an hour of searching I was well and truly fed up with the spider webs and mozzies and headed back to the car.
Maybe I'll bring some fellow treasure hunters with me next time

Another cache not found since 2013 discovered.
It took around twenty minutes but I eventually spotted the hide and soon had cache in hand.

I still di dnot find this, though thsi time I noticed the Spindoctors log comment " From here I made tracks up the slope to WP1."
I thought - hang on, the car I have been using is already uphill from the missing WP1 - so at least today, with the advantage of low levels of undergrowth, I was able to finally find the correct rusty car, only about 6M south of WP1. (My original visit to WP1 was prior to Zalgar's car log, so I had not realised there was a 2nd rusting car about 50M from the relevant one - how in blazes did 2 cars end up in here?).
I did some searching but had other places to be by the time I was in the right area. At least next time I have a better chance, as I will start in the rght spot, and not be searchng 50+Metres from the actual GZ.

#225 (1 of 7 today)
Decided today was a day to pick up two Old School caches in Southern Sydney. This was the first.
The parking area near GZ was locked - looks like it has been for a while. but there is room by the side of the road - as two cars belonging to people fishing nearby attested.
Started the walk to the posted waypoint. As I have managed before, enjoying the walk too much and went past it before I realised. Approaching, spotted the rusting car - yes, how did that get here? Followed Zalgariath's instructions, well tried to but my iPhone decided to be very difficult. Spent a while hunting around unsucessfully - there are a few likely spots within 30 metres of that car... Finally got a decent reading from the iPhone & narrowed my search. Spotted something that looked cache like when approaching GZ from the wrong direction, and soon had CIH.
Appears someone has done some maintenance as the cache & log was very dry, and the container isn't the one in a recent log. Definitely the right log book, though.
Intended to add to the booty - wrote as such in the log - then forgot. Sigh.
Oh, and the weeds appear to be back.

When I got back to my car the road was full of cars - people flocking to the park on the river. I could have sworn one of them was wearing a pirate hat.

After an honest day of work I needed for a trip of plundering and booty!
Listenin' to the whisperings of other pirates I followed their hints and laid my hands on the prize.
Still no signs of WP1, but I found a likely spot it could have been in.

Didn't plan this as my 1000th cache but the stars aligned and I was here and must say that with the state of the container (fern growing next to it), am suspicious of previous finder.
Anyway, followed Zalgariath's clues to WP1 which 6months after back burning is still accessible. Gathered the info required to GZ, sighted landmark and off I went, changed paces to metres as it was easy to follow on iPhone.
Found the bounty after a bit of searching but sadly was full of water (photo attached).
Will return to do a bit of maintenance, log book will require replacing.
Logging as my 1000th as this cache needs maintenance.

6/8 for me today. This was quite a nice cache despite the mozzies... Would never have come down here otherwise. Nice walk out where we climbed out onto a tree that was protruding out to the swamp before moving on the wp1. The back burning had made everything black and ashy which made it easier to navigate the trees but also less easy to breathe. Worried the first wp would be burned to a char we actually found the final cache straight away :S So yeah, this cache needs a bit of maintenance for it to function as a multi but from memory the co hasn't logged on in ages so no chance of that either way happy to get the smiley on my map, TFTC!
I was worried this one may have been destroyed by the hazard reduction burning that occured earlier this week. Thankfully we found the cache in tact, and the burning made the bush-bashing much easier. There was a cool burnt out car nearby. I wonder how it even got there. TFTC
This one seems to have taken years before I finally took the plunge this morning. After reading recent logs Zalgariath's one is the definitive one for clues and armed with that information I made my way to GZ. After a slow walk upwards I eventually spotted the car and knew that where I was I must be pretty close. It then only took a couple of minutes of searching and the cache was found .
I think I always put this one on the too hard list as it seemed like an epic but in the end it didn't turn out that way. The lagoon seems pretty full at the moment which is a sight too. TFTC!

Being an old cache of sorts, this popped up on my radar. The 10 years worth of logs make interesting reading and suggest this is both hard and easy. So with a few hours to spare, and a BP cache waiting, I headed south in the rain to try my luck.
Arrived at the car park to find it locked. Parked nearby and followed the trail in. A well used path lead me to within 35 metres of the coords. I then headed into the scrub. With the wet weather I decided to remove my glasses and hang them off my polo shirt. This proved to be a bad move as I then noticed a few minutes later they were gone [:o]. Luckily I have a new pair arriving on Monday and these old ones were scratched. Needless to say, if any future finders come across them, please drop me an email.
With the glasses gone, and my vision a little out of focus, I came across the rusted hulk of a car. From here I made tracks up the slope to WP1. No sign of any container. I then started the laborious process of searching hidey spots in concentric circles. This was no mean feat in the wet, with slippery rocks urging me to fall or twist an ankle. Thankfully after 10 minutes I found the container hiding in a dry secluded spot.
Signed the log, replaced the cache and spent another 5 minutes searching for my glasses before heading back to the car. An interesting cache to say the least - and a top spot (I know why I prefer the older geocaches).

Went within 150 metres of WP1, to much undergrowth for the grand kids. Will try again without the helpers.
I finally got around to following Zalgariaths advice about locating this GZ, but had no luck finding a cache - assuming I had the right car wreck - then again I could only find one about 40M from the missing WP1.
I will contact the CO about the final coords and see if I can arrange to reset WP1 for him at the same time.

YEEEEE HAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHH!!! I gots it! Inspired by the recent find I poured through the logs again today and managed to scrap enough clues together to locate the cache sans Way Points! I was most surprised when I did finally get my hands on it that there was no mark or sign from anyone since last year, and no travel bug the last finder dropped off. I think he may possibly have gotten confused as he grabbed a few caches in the area that day and he has logged the wrong one. That makes it the first find in nearly a year! Woo Hoo!
To make the life of those who follow easier, while maintaining the original idea of the cache, try these instructions instead...
Near the listed co-ords you will find a old Holden slowly rusting (how the hell did that get here?!) You cant miss it!
From the wreck take a bearing of 25deg (NNE) and travel about 15-20 paces on this line uphill (it will be hard to go in a straight line)
Here is GZ and a hunt around in some pirate type places should yeild the good size chest in top condition, camo'd but spottable by the trained GC Eye.
Best of Luck! Argh!
PS - Oh! And the water is back! Looks like the council did some weed clearing

Seeing as the Pirates seem to be AWOL and the waypoints are obviously gone, any chance of a previous finder putting up a set of Co-Ords for the GZ so we can all knock this off the list?
After reading some recent logs I knew this would be a challenge. The bush is really overgrown at the moment, the lake doesnt exist (well it does under the weeds somewhere!) and the WP1 could not be located as usual. Neither did I manage to stumble across WP2 or the Chest Might have to go to Tronador for a hint

Our second visit and still couldn't find the multicache stages, but as others have done we luckily came across the cache whilst searching the area. Since our last visit, we couldn't believe how much the lake has changed! You can't even see any water nowadays due to the weed taking over - check out the pic!

5pm. With threatening skies, thought this would be rather easy as I grew up using sliderules and magnetic compasses.
