This is my first find!!! Very cool! The log is full so couldn't add to it! AMAZING!!!!
OCW PelDroedGwin What an amazing story ! Wow, that would have been a real shock to see! Log is very full, just managed to squeeze TB& PDG on.Tftc
Im in Darwin for a work trip and decided to grab a couple while out and about. Many thanks to puggles72 for placing and maintaining The Bombing of Berrimah. I found it, I signed it, and put it back as found.
*Nice cache found with woolwood9.* SL *tm/ww NZ* or with our full names. Thanks for the reason to visit this site on our 9 day holiday around the Darwin area.
Headed over to Darwin for a break with tmann421.Really enjoying the weather and the challenges of the hides.Logs signed tm/ww NZGreat hints make a nice quick find hereThanks for the cache owners for their efforts
Tough hide... we took quite a while before we spotted the sneaky hide. The workers gave us a wave and smile once we'd found it. Log is very full but managed to squeeze our name on it. We're all out of this sized replacement at the moment sorry. Tftc
Darwin to Adelaide Road Trip
Day One: Darwin
Weather: cooler than I was expecting.
The very first cache of the road trip, not far from where I’ve picked up the car. A fun cache too. The proprietor did come out to check on me, but I’d already found it by then.
Thanks for the cache puggles72.
It’s officially a mega - GCA1DNA “The Great Leap Forward”

Took my muggle friend along for moral support and as an extra set of eyes. The property owner came out and may have given us a hint. Very cool hiding-spot and great introduction for my friend, and cacher in the making. TFTC ️
I’m visiting family for a week with plenty of time for geocaching.
For some reason I’ve never noticed this cache during my many visits to Darwin but what a beauty it is - such an amazing story which I missed at the time.
Noticing the doors were locked, I started looking carefully in the engine, when the proprietor came over and pointed it out. I would have found it eventually as it’s easier than I expected.
Here’s another fp. Tftc

Great story here. We finally saw the light and found the nano. Favourite point given for the crazy story
A little collection tour took us to this previously visited site today. The idea was to finally find the box. After an extensive search, we finally discovered it and after signing it, help arrived, but it was no longer necessary
Thanks for laying and maintaining

Love this!
Had someone approach me and start discussing their car like I knew what they were talking about. No idea. Just played it cool and I actually spotted the little devil while we were talking. As soon as he left I crochet down quickly unscrewed and did the dirty. Thank so much for a small history lesson and a good hide.

TFTC a nice start to the New Year 2022. Happy to have the time to conduct a search. A neat 1.
The stainless steel has lost its “shine”, but great cache in an interesting location. Thanks.
I’ve been wanting to grab this one for a while, but always felt awkward when driving by. I decided to park in the yard and approach the staff and see if it was ok if I looked for the geocache in the old 4WD. Sure enough, I was given a thumbs up and off I went. I didn’t really read the hint, so I took longer than I needed to. Cheeky little container was hidden in a place I didn’t expect it, but it suits the placement well.
Nanos aren’t my favourite having big fingers and small bits of paper.
Soon had the business of logging it and off I went.

Felt a little uncomfortable entering private property without consent so endeavoured to approach staff promptly for permission. They were more than happy for me to survey the wreckage and even offered me a spefic location for the position of the cache. Quickly located but hard to remove.
Needed a flat headed screwdriver to help me out in the end.
T4TC!

Needing direction as I was so busy following the hint I forgot the description. Interesting art work as well as history. TFTC
Today is the 76th anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin which I commemorated by attending the service at the Cenotaph. It seemed appropriate to follow that up with this cache which has been on my "to do" list for 2 years waiting for the right time. What an extraordinary story - I love this cache for highlighting an extraordinary event that I knew nothing about so I am awarding it a favourite point. It's hard to be discrete so I didn't really try and earned a big thumbs up from the staff in the yard when I made the find. Thanks for a top caching experience puggles72.
Started out looking in the difficult spots and then took a step back and deep breathe and there it was. TFTC
Have to admit I was scared when looking at this wreck knowing the cache was micro, I'm glad it wasn't as hard as I'd imagined. TFTC
We came into Darwin to have a little bit of a look around and to see how much things have changed since our last visit 8 years ago and of course grab a couple of caches while we were here.
This was indeed an interesting occurrence and certainly made the news for quite awhile and it's not what anyone would expect to happen, Filling out the insurance claim must have been a bit of a laugh trying to explain what actually happened. We have seen this car from a distance before, this is the first time that we have been up close and personal. It really did make a mess and with the great territory humour it stills makes and interesting advertising point. The very well hidden cache was located a lot quicker than it could have been as Basil pointed us in the right direction.
Retrieving it still took a little longer than expected and happily our name is in the log.
Thanks puggles72 for the cache.

Now visiting Darwin after the Red Centre Experience.
The plan today was to head out for a full day of caching but alas as so often happens we ended up doing jobs this morning and eventually left home, after 10am.
Was a tough day with humidiity and heat, green ants.
Managed to find a few caches and DNF a few more.

#7045 - 11:25; Day 20 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965, so signing logs as A.L.F.S. We had now reached Darwin, our most northerly port, after attending the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs. After a night in a cosy bed in an airconditioned room were were up and out early for a day of caching in and around Darwin. Managed 37 finds, but an eye watering 10 DNFs. Not sure what the obsession with nanos is in this part of the world. Cachers going a bit troppo maybe? All caches located were in good order, including this one. Interesting hide and thanks to the property owner too. TFTC puggles72
Alice trip 2017. Day 18. Today Sol de Lune, Luckyl10n, Fitzy_1965 and I spent the day caching in and around Darwin. For a southerner it was a hot sticky day. Plenty of caches with lots of DNFs but at least it did not rain.
Thanks.

13495. Next find of Day 10 of the Red Centre Experience Roadtrip. In Darwin.
I flew into Alice Springs to meet up with my caching mates Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n (signing mostly as ALFS) to attend the Red Centre Experience and then venture up north to Darwin and then east into Qld before heading south for home - a three week caching trek.
Next stop for the day. Took quite a bit of time for this one. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and it was off to the next cache.

Day 2 of our (fitzy_1965, LuckyL10n, albida33 and myself) stay in Darwin. It was a mixed bag of a day with about 42 finds, but also about 30 DNF or DNA because of the DNF's, but or course you get that somedays.
The ones we found were a mixture of micro's and small and a lot were in interesting places. Caching in the NT is different to the southern states, so a day of 40 odd is a good return....especially with a bit of sightseeing thrown in as well.
Thanks for all the caches owners and the fun in grabbing them.

Interesting story attached to this old car. We pulled into the yard, and a lovely little girl strolled over and without a word, pulled something down and a sneaky little hide revealed itself. She saved us a lot of searching on what could potentially be a long search. She must be so used to people searching here, so thought she'd hive us a hand:-) Log was full, so we have replaced it with a new one. TFTC
Groet team Geo Burgt.
Ps, inderdaad leuk verstopt maar de waardering mag wel wat hoger!

After spending the last 2 days checking which challenge caches we qualify for we set off in search of them picking up other caches on the way. Had a chat with the owner and he showed us the newspaper report of the incident.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Sorry for the late log, have been a little pre-occupied of late.
This was one of our last in Darwin before heading home. A very interesting area. I very much enjoyed looking over the vehicle. TFTC

Our last day in Darwin, so we thought we would grab a few caches that were near the hotel before we flew out. Located within a very interesting vehicle, we couldn't help but take act the tourist and take a few photos. Many thanks to the CO for bringing us to this location. TFTC

We had an errand in Berrimah, so we brought the bike, so I could go find a few caches
This cache took me quite a while to find, but all of a sudden it was right there in front of me. How blind can you be It was a different type of cache I had been looking for, but this is very clever [^]
Thanks for the story about the bombing - interesting
Thanks a lot for the cache

I actually remember this incident being in the news all those years ago. It's good to be able to see the vehicle that was involved in the 'bombing'.
Cache took quite a while to find but Cat's sharp eyes got us there eventually.

Love this cache. A real tricky one to find on a fantastic little piece of Darwin history. Log was full so I couldn't sign it. TFTC.
Been here before but gate was locked so made a point of returning today during business hours. An easy find thanks to the clue. A great site to visit too. TFTC.

Another warm morning drive around outer Darwin while here for a few days.
Hardly any muggles around at the moment and mostly good quick finds.
Except for this one, had to have a good long look until the evil devil was finally found.

Have driven past this cache a multitude of times, but always after hours or late on the weekend. Finally we both had a day off in the middle of the weekend to attempt this one.
Popped into the office and asked the owner if he minded us poking around the wreck which he readily okayed
Mr Tiedyesmileys was checking all around and was lying on his back when Mrs TiedyeSmileys went 'I found it' fairly quickly. Can finally tick this one off our list (log book totally full though).

Was driving home after a successful GC day with the Geofam, when we passed this interested spot.
Stopped opposite and told my boys the story, when we noticed the gates open.
"One more then no more?" my son said.
Asked the owner and he said OK.
After searching (without hands!) for 10 minutes, resorted to previous logs. One caught my eye and we soon had the GC in hand. A very clever hint puggles72 - we hadn't interpreted it that way!
