I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi reebz
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Literally pulled half the cairn apart trying to find the cache but only managed to disturb a skink and a few weta type bugs. I did rebuild the cairn.
Hadn't really set out today to climb this hill, but on arriving at the parking area, the sun was out and it's wasn't too cold, so grabbed the backpack and set off. Met muggles along the way and stopped to chat while catching breath! Took about 3 1/4 hours return for me, and I'm not a fan of uphill walking! Found the replacement cache, log in a plastic bag, so put the log and bag in a pill container which is all I had on me to protect the log book. Took in the stunning views after signing the log. Thanks for bringing me here, so glad I decided on the spur of the moment to make the effort and climb Peak Hill.
What a fantastic view. Have put in a replacement cache & messaged the owner. Tftc
It's my last full day at the Southern Island and I've been looking into this one for a while. I don't fit the profile; My level of fitness is at its best average. But today is a beautiful day, the weather looks fine and as it is my last day, I decided to see if I can make the walk all the way up. At 11.40AM I start from the parking. 1 hour later I'm almost halfway up at the other Geocache, which I found quickly. I'm feeling good and at a slow but steady pace I continue to hike up, which takes me another hour. So, after 2 hours of climbing I'm at the top, exactly as the DOC sign predicted. Which is quite special, since most of the signs I've seen in the last 8 weeks told me a walk would take me twice as long as it actually did.
After having a look at the breathtaking view, it's time to find this little bugger. But where the hike up was quite alright, the search was terrible. I've replaced the whole cairn to find the cache. But I didn't. That was pretty much a disappointment. Luckily the view was wonderful, but this wasn't going to be my 300th find in New Zealand. Unfortunately, now one of those stupid Eclipse-containers thrown down near the side of the road is going to be, I'm afraid. The walk down took me exactly 1 hour. How others manage to go up and down in 80 minutes, puzzles me. Do they fly?
Thanks for hiding; I'm not sure if this one is Muggled (I did find glass of a beer bottle) since it hasn't been found in 6 months, or if it's just me that was out of breathe to take a proper look (well, I don't think it's the latter, to be honest). I loved the view!

Being such lovely conditions I decided to introduce a friend to the mountains, what a great place and a favourite of mine for giving folk the wow factor and yes a cache I hadn't got my hands on.
It was -3c when we started off, armed with an ice axe just in case however the snow had just enough melt to make the walk very pleasant. Found the cache after a small dig in the snow.

The highest cache we have found so far, at 1,240 metres. Also the most effort we have put into getting to a cache. The climb was hard and spark401 junior found it particularly difficult. The view from the top was outstanding as the cloud had cleared. It was worth the effort.
Dropped off TB. TFTC.

Took us 2hours 15 mins round trip. Initially lots of cloud covering the peak but once there no cloud and great views all around. Thanks
the view is wow. on a perfect day, this was amazing. loved it thanks for bringing me here. a fav from me. tufts
I am on a school trip at Lake Coleridge with seven others. Today we took on the task of scaling Peak Hill, and it took us a bit longer than 90 min (about 3 hours) but was well worth it. The view was spectacular and we also grabbed this unexpected cache. I am giving it a favourite point because the journey was hard but the view made the climb well worth it.
belle vue au sommet, trouvé avec nath38 et leyonz, belle descente ensuite avec nath38
What a reward from the top. Not a clear day but still, the valleys, lakes, rivers are sooooo beautiful from there. Found with Nat38 and jmg41. Good on ya mates!
What a quick way to get to a high cache. Go straight up the hill and hang a left when you reach the ridge. A great day for walking, not to hot, or cold or windy. A magnificent view from the top, though a little overcast. Tiny tiny amount of snow visible on the way up, near the top. Thanks for the hide.
We hadn’t originally planned on climbing Peak Hill, as it seemed a lot of effort for a single cache, but when ridders76 placed a second cache on it, two caches were sufficient incentive to put it on our agenda. As we approached Lake Coleridge, we saw a ginormous hill in the distance, which was the shape we knew Peak Hill to be, but we decided it was too far away and too big and high. As we drew nearer, we discovered it wasn’t too far away, although it was still too big and high, and becoming moreso by the minute. So our journey began. We took 88 minutes to reach the top, including 10 minutes searching unsuccessfully for Footprints through the centuries on the way up. Once we reached the top of the hill, with its absolutely stupendous views in all directions, the cache was quickly located. On our way back down we met 8 young Russian and Lithuanian tourists who were climbing the hill, and spent a further 10 minutes searching for Footprints through the centuries, still unsuccessfully, before eventually reaching the car park 3 hrs 6 mins after we started. Not a bad effort for a couple of old fogies. TFTC

Easy find after a 1hr 45min walk, on a very windy day. But worth the views from the top. TFTC
Great views but the very strong cold wind meant the stay at the top was quite short. Could see for miles and miles.
Found this a few weekends ago, didn't have a GPS but thought that it would be a great place for a cache, I was right!
Found easily, but I see we were't the only ones caching up here today - I suspect we might have seen the others on our way up to the peak. The views at the summit are a good example of New Zealand High Country views at their very best - awesome. Stayed up there for a while and had lunch and a cuppa while we filled in the log book. We made it up to the top in 2hrs 04mins - a reasonable grind being uphill all the way, but well worth the effort for the stunning views.
TN, but I did eat the lolly that was starting to melt

We set off with every intention of finding this cache. but had to return down when gale force winds picked up. I've never experienced anything like it! We could have carried onto the summit but it was getting increasingly difficult to keep to the track on the ridgeline and could barely hold our ground against some of the stronger gusts. The last straw was when a good glove got sucked out of a slightly open bag and was blown down the hill. We shook our fist at the summit, yelled 'Damn you Peak Hill' and made our way back down. I would suggest you don't attempt this one if it's reasonably windy at the carpark - it will be cnnsiderably worse the higher you get up. Will return and conquer this one another day. The views are spectacular, by the way.
Visited with TB Moose, one of the most strenuous finds to date. Well worth the effort for the 360 views.

Big moment for SmoothHound... First posting to this site. Not the first cache found but first as SmoothHound officially joined GeoCache for 2 whole days!
Went out with BaldEd and womble-bbt. Perfect weather, no wind, clear skies, warm, clean air. Fantastic place to visit. Most people never make the time to get out to places as special as this.
Located easily without GPS assistance. There's really not much in other places to locate on a bald mountain top...
When I figure out posting photos will do so

A good grind up to the Top of the World, with Bald Ed and Smooth Hound.Magnificent views on a nice warm day.An excellent name for this Cache. Thanks for the good work out.TN LN TFTC.
What a magnificent place to be on this fine summer's morning! Beautiful blue sky above and beautiful blue lake below, with just a very very light cooling breeze and magnifient views all around. One couldn't have asked for a better day. Probably it was a relatively slow time up (2hours 15 minutes) but it befitted us 3 old f..ts (BaldEd, womble-bbt and Smooth Hound) all of us being well into our seventh decade. Coming down was sooo much easier, though the quads were trembling in anticipation of each downward step, and we were back at the cachemobile in 45 minutes, ready to embark on our next caching adventure on the other side of the lake. Thanks for leading us this spot that we probably all wouldn't have visited but for geocaching.
Great views Today just after a Southerly. The top of the hill had snow cover and today just a little bit remained.Took about 3.5 hours including a stop at the top. There is a few logs that are not on the Website. I think they though it was a logbook and did not read about Geocaching. Cache was not very well hidden. TFTC

The first fine winter day, so we decided to go for a special cache. And what a good choice!. This must be one of the best views in Canterbury. Absolute magnificent views and well worth the effort.
Unfortunately it was a bit snowy and icy, so we definitly could not do this in 3 hours. It was more like 4 1/2 return, but at least no broken bones and made it safe back to the car.
Surprised to realise that there are more log entries than logs in the internet. The cache was well exposed so we assume that some muggles used the opportunity to leave their mark. Hopefully they enjoyed it.
Hopefully the photos encourage some more cachers to visit this amazing place. Thank you for placing the cache and the beautiful day. Well done.

I always wanted to get a photo of the junction of the three rivers as I have had some great adventures up all of them and now I have that photo Made it up here on Friday around 5.50pm and almost surprised to be FtF. I was in the area any way so made a little deviation to get the cache.I have been past this place quite regularly over many years but never got to climbing the hill I was surprised to see lake Monk(or Catherine, depending on what school you went to) from here.It is truly worth the climb, I was away from the car just a whisker over 2 1/2hours.
Cheers and
thanks for the effort of putting the cache up here.
