Logs
We were struggling to find this one, I read out one log from a past log and SSR was on to it in seconds. It was well hidden.
Thanks for the interesting story and cache doheng.
We separated from Tassie Trekkers today with Budgie, SSR and I heading along the Murray toward Mildura and surrounds today. The high river levels prevented us from getting many of our chosen caches but we still found some good ones and enjoyed the day.
It’s become a tradition to fly to a Mega via somewhere else so Stainless steel rat, budgietas and I flew from Hobart to Adelaide a week before the big event and, after a few days around the city, worked our way up along the Murray (where we could due to flooding) via Waikerie, Mildura, Swan Reach and Echuca before heading down through Shepparton to Whittlesea where we caught up, and cached with, a few other teams including Whitewebbs, 1toolman and icybeetas.

Found this cache while out caching with Goosenegg and stainless steel rat.
We drove from South Australia, to Victoria and down the Murray river, swapping between NSW and Victoria, collecting LGA's as we drove down to Mildura
Thank you for the cache.
All caches stamped with "Team Tassie"
November 2022 was planned as a trip to the Mega in Melbourne, so we flew from Hobart to Adelaide to find quite a few caches that we had missed last time. Some great caches were found, but the planned boat trip was canceled due to the weather. No matter the showers we found quite a few caches on the trip (Around 600) including a number with high Terrian values.
The drive-through down the Murray river on the NSW / Victoria border showed the impacts of the current floods. A number of caches planned were canceled due to the flooding. Unfortunately, many of these caches will have been lost to the flood. The Mega, as per the whole week, was on and off a wet time, even so a number of caches were still found with Goosenegg, Stainless Steel Rat, Whitewebbs and Tassie Trekkers

On our way to the mega and went via SA just so we could finish off the OYB series, We did these with TT and marked our territory with a stamp that said Team Tassie, most of the caches we found in good order and those couple that weren't we fixed up as best we could with what we had to hand.
All found now well till some more come out anyway!
Another year, another Victorian Mega, so where do we fly into, Adelaide like you do, after a few days in the city we ventured out into the wilds of SA before heading Northeast towards the border (You remember the name of the town, don't you?) before crossing over we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and we all finished off the OYB series.
Our attempts at a few caches as we moved South that were near rivers were as half expected we were thwarted by floods so we didn't get to those but added the odd on in here and there.
At long last we arrived in Whittlesea for the Mega late in the evening of Friday 11th and after a quick event headed to our accommodation for the next few days. While in the area we explored the area finding caches all over the place and we even got to meet up with our Victorian ex Tassie cacher 1Toolman who traveled up from down South to join us for the day
Thanks for the cache.

In town for a day and hit up a couple of multis, including this one. Took a few minutes at make the find in the area, but persistence paid off and the cache was eventually in hand. Log signed, cache returned and it was off for a few more.
Thanks for this one doheng...

Good challenge! Found the location based on clues and was on spot. Took a while to find the container as it was well hidden. Need to go over a few branches.
Arrived in town today and raced around grabbing the last few things I need for the trip out to Mungo this week. Whilst flirting around I managed to get this multi sported! So many options at GZ meant I was hunting for awhile. Thankfully we were in between rain storms. Just about to call it a day when I spotted this simple hide. Great to have my name in the log!! Thanks for the cache.
Another cache find on our 2022 South Australian Adventure, yes I know we have wandered over the border. Never mind, it is a wonderful day and we have joined forces with FelixII so we are off to see what we can find. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-guided tour.
fity_1965 and I decided to head away for an extra long weekend so that we could attend the Tri-State Community Celebration Events along with the other events that have popped up.
A fantastic time was had and a nice number of caches found. Thanks to all the CO's for holding the events and/or placing the caches.
It was past midnight when we decided to head to bed following the last of the CCE’s for the weekend. We were up surprisingly early and hit the road to grab some more of the Turtle series before heading for home. We had collected the information for this one yesterday but the final was in the opposite direction to our way at the time. Nice to pick this one up today.
It was wonderful to see cachers we hadn't seen for a while and to meet several new ones. There ended up being cachers from SA, Vic, NSW, Tas & QLD! Amazing!

28,523. Found with minniek while visiting the region for the Tri-State Community Events/International Geocaching Day weekend.
When minniek and I heard about the huge 8 event weekend (4 Community Celebration Events, 3 'normal' events and 1 CITO) to be held in Berri/Wentworth/Mildura/Euston celebrating International Geocaching Day, we knew that we wanted to be there. After three very busy days and 8 events, we were starting to get a bit weary, but still wanted to find some caches before starting the long haul home. We missed this one yesterday, so came back today. Quick find at GZ. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued on to the next one.
Thanks doheng !!

After a big day day yesterday for international geocaching day we explored of the area with Mattycat and Perfect Di, always love a good multi and the locations you get to explore, another interesting spot and memorial to those brave soldiers of WW1, found after a short search

Wandered off with Purrfect Di [:X] , and met up with the Froghoppin duo [^] [^] and a whole bunch of other crazy cachers around the place too. Saw some sights, cached three states, and ate a whole lot of pub and cafe meals! Found far fewer mint tins than usual - gold star to Vic and NSW for that one!!!
Happy Geocaching Day weekend!
Numbers crunched . Location located. A bit of a rummage and there it was.
Much thanks to doheng for locating and maintaining this cache on our Victorian geo-map

Wandering the countryside - searching, spotting strange items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck
Heaps of that luck stuff actually !!!
*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*
---
Caution! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Truly fantastic of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Appreciate you reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!

Haven’t been too good at Multics. Came once before and had no luck, thought we would give it another go and were successful tftc
Spending a few days in Mildura, joined by the rest of the Goldy clan for a family getaway.
We've been coming here since our first visit in 2008, it's a Goldy family favourite so I'm excited for the opportunity to find a few geocaches here and in some of the surrounding towns.
I'm also looking forward to experiencing some different hides in another state, as all my finds so far have been in South Australia.
I won't be able to get to all the caches due to having other plans with family, family always comes first.
So a high majority of caches on the "to be found" list are ones where I can learn local history and ones that are relatively quick and easy.
I've been primarily eyeing off the turtle series geoart and adventure labs.
After gaining the required numbers I set off for the cache. Spent a few minutes searching as there was lot of hiding places GZ but eventually was in the right position and spotted it.
Put my signature in the log book and returned the cache to its hiding spot.
Thanks to doheng for this cache.

#13465 - 6:00:00 PM; In Mildura and Wentworth on family business, which meant limited caching opportunities. With that in mind, I was primarily focussed on cache attributes needed to meet some personal challenges that I'm working towards. Headed to the posted coords and gathered the required information before doing the calculations and heading off for GZ. That's when the fun started! Circled around several times before finding the right way in to find the cache and sign the log. TFTC doheng
We were in Mildura to do the fireworks for the New Years Eve festivities and then we have plans to head over to SA to catch up with Honeysucker, Liz & Bruce & Chrispy and we thought that we would try and get three caches in the each of three states in one day.
We pulled up at wpt 1 which early this morning was totally deserted and we enjoyed collecting the required information and we soon had a set of co-ords to go and visit one of his ancestral locations. We pulled up and followed the GPSr to gz where the cache was a nice easy find right where the GPSr was pointing and we added our name to the log before returning everything as we found it.
Many thanks for the interesting infor and for the cache.

We enjoyed the park here so much so that we ended up having our lunch here once we had collected the clues. We sighed when we realised where GZ was as we had just come from there
Thanks doheng for the multi placement.

It was good to be able to find any caches in place today after the extreme winds experienced last night. We came along with ilook4geo for a mix of puzzle, traditional and multi caches as well as some necessary business for the day. Thank you to doheng for placing this cache.
Had some fun caching along with goingplaces2 today and found several different kinds. All found logs were signed and then returned to place. TFTC.
Finally got the right way in and disappointing to see so much rubbish around gz. Timely to be here for ANZAC Day and glad to do this multi. Tftc

In Mildura for a few days with Snap Happy, omegaman1971, Happy Feet, Happy Pants and The Empire.
After finishing off the GOT series it was time for Me to do the turtle series, it was a little challenging getting to some locations but I managed to get them all done.
The highlight for the day were the fantastic gadget caches in the area.

This was a great opportunity to get away with some caching friends in Mildura. The plan was to hit some of the local trails and geo art. There was many other hides discovered, with some really great containers and hides in the area.
Visited the memorail to grab the info needed to lead us to GZ. It wasn't too long before we had the log in hand to stamp.
Thanks doheng for placing this multi cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Here in Mildura for a few days with Snap Happy, omegaman1971, Happy Feet and Happy Pants.
Once we'd finished finding the nearby turtle series geoart, we were keen to keep on caching into the late afternoon, then on and into the night. "There's another one over here" was the saying heard most today. We found a plethora of different cache types, hide styles and were happily perplexed at some GZs! I was also able to dish out many favourite points. Thanks for the cache doheng, love an oldie and this one is over 10 years old!

A plan was hatched with Rapidlywild to attack some of the caching trails down in VIC/SA.
With the boarders slowly staying open we thought Easter might be a safe time to try since the QLD boarder was still too fragile to attempt going to the MEGA and it also looked like it could be rather wet there.
After completing the PS series we split up as The Drovers had already done the ones we were about to do.
We still signed the logs as either The Mob or put our initials in the logs.
There were a lot of different kinds of hides here which really good. Nice to have something a little different.
A good memorial multi here. No issues at GZ.

FurfacesLL, Rapidlywild, LíB and myself found a number of caches outside of the Paddle steamer and Turtle Series whilst in the area.
Most of the caches are stamped as The Mob (consisting of The Drovers, LíB, FurfacesLL, Rapidlywild, and myself), however a handful contain our own caching names or initials.
2020 was not a great year, and the beginnings of 2021 have also been tricky - so when it looked like the various borders would be open again (without quarantine restrictions), a trip was spontaneously planned and I was able to pull together a number of my caching friends who hadn't cached together before to form "The Mob".
LíB and I started in SA, drove to Victoria and ended our trip in SA; FurfacesLL and Rapidlywild came from Canberra and The Drovers began their journey from NSW; and then a few days later, feathertop from Victoria, joined us to complete the On Your Bike Series and other caches in SA.
We filled our days with piling in cars, hard core caching, Adventure Labs, crazy funny CB radio chatter, some laughter, some tense moments (OMG some of the ladder and tree climbs on this trip were crazy!), lots of lovely meals and even live music from a band called "Kung Fu Jesus" - nope, that is no joke.
We had hot weather each day (well into 30s), so I am thrilled that I now own a car fridge to keep the drinks icy cold (loving them at about 1 degree celcius).
A sincere thanks to doheng for placing this cache.

For the first time in a long time, it was road trip time. With COVID-19 keeping everyone at home for so long, the borders were finally opening and the feet were itchy for a decent caching trip. Plans were made with FurfacesLL to do a 10 day road trip across to Mildura and Loxton to do a heap of caching and we were excited. Across the 10 days we racked up over 4,300km in driving, multiple hotels/motels, brought home enough red dust to create our own sand pit in the back yard and collected over 1800 finds between us. It was a massive trip and lots of fun was had.
We teamed up with GoodLook, FeatherTop, The Drovers and LiB and signed most logs as "The Mob". There were a few caches which were signed as individual team names as some teams had already completed said caches, those will be noted individually.
Our target caches were the Turtle Series, the Paddle Steamer Series and the On Ya Bike wherigo Series, heaps of other caches were also collected along the way but our primary target caches were completed which made us all very happy and very tired geocachers.
Was day 3 of our trip away and today we were back out to finish off the PS Series with "The Mob" consisting of GoodLook, The Drovers, FurfacesLL, LiB and myself. We managed to get heaps done yesterday so only needed a couple hours out on these today then The Drovers went off to do some caches they had left unfound whilst the rest of us went to do some around Mildura/Red Cliffs that they had already found.
A lovely memorial for Samuel Pearce who served at such a young age. A great multi to enjoy and a nice find.
Thanks for the hides doheng And thanks to "The Mob" for a trip to remember [^].

Roaming around Mildura, picking up a few caches.
Visited the memorial and did the calculations.
Took longer at GZ to find the container than it should have.
Signed the log, and replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, doheng, for us and others to find.

A plan was made for a group of us, (mogni, sir_spectre, allister w, BratKat and myself) to head over to Mildura for the long weekend as the borders are now open and we wouldn't have to quarantine on the way back. [^]
Two of us spent a long time solving all the puzzles in the Turtle and Paddle Steamer series along with the other puzzles around Mildura, but they were put away waiting for the time when we could get over to find the caches.
We had a very busy weekend and managed to find all of the Turtle and Paddle Steamer caches along with some of the high favourited caches, an Adventure Lab, one night cache, quite a few gadget caches and a couple of water caches...and then we ran out of time.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had a great time finding lots of different caches and we will have to make a return trip to find those that we didn't get around to.
All caches stamped "Mystery Randoms" [^]
After completing the Turtle Series and the PS Series today was a day to get some of the cool caches that we had heard about including a couple of water caches.
A quick find here with a previous finder.
Thanks for the cache doheng.

A group of South Australians jumped to border in to Victoria for the long weekend. The group was Allister W, JJ52, Mogni, Sir_spectre, and BratKat. All logs stamped as " Mystery Random's ". We left Adelaide and headed over to Mildura. The target for the puzzlers was to clear the highway caches then complete the " Turtle series " and the " Paddle Steamer series " since they had solved all the puzzles before coming over. My target was the D5/T5 underwater field puzzle and also hoping to get up to 13000 finds this trip ( that was achieved ). Once those goals where filled we mainly targeted caches with high favourite points and started on the many multi's that are in Mildura. I highly enjoyed the field puzzles and themed caches from the locals and sorry to say that we only did 1 of the night caches. On the 2nd night after doing 356 caches during the day it bucketed down that night and we had a beer/wine or two instead. We will be back, maybe not this year, but it will be the sooner, not later.
Found on a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Team Waldron, Brisal5 and FeatherWaite. Our main targets were the Paddle Steamer and Turtle geoart series' but we also took the opportunity to seek out a few other caches along the way.
We were fortunate with the weather. After a burst of very hot days, we timed our trip nicely to coincide with the milder conditions before the next hot spell. That helped to make both the caching and the camping along the Murray River and in the Murray-Sunset National Park very pleasant.
We ended up finding all the caches that we had targeted. Most were in good order. Some of the puzzles were quite challenging and there were some very novel and entertaining multi's. Some certainly took a bit of finding and there were many very clever and/or tricky caches and containers that were a credit to the cache owners’ ingenuity.
It would have been good to have had another day or two to complete the remaining caches in the area, but I’m sure we’ll be back.
Thanks to all the cache owners for the hides.

Over from SA for 4 days of caching with Egregory1, Featherwaite and Brisal5.
We came primarily to do the Paddlesteamer series but picked up orthers as we drove around.
Apologies for the generis logs.

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Brisal5, e.gregory1 and Team Waldron with the main aim to complete the Paddle Steamer and Turtle GeoArt series but also to find other caches along the way. We camped out on the banks of the Murray River near Mildura on the first night, at Rocket Lake campground in the Murray-Sunset National Park on the second night, then back to the banks of the Murray River near Merbein on the last night. We signed the logs as B.E.F.W. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the cache!
***Generic Log unless something special above this line.***
I have seen a T shirt with Sleep Eat Cache Repeat [^] Well a four day trip to Mildura with caching friends Team Waldron, E.gregory and FeatherWaite certainly fit that bill. Logs were signed with initials only for the teams - BEFW
Up at daybreak, quick breakfast and cache all day stopping only to have a snack whilst out on the trails, rush to set up camp near dusk for a meal, then perhaps some night caching, early night and REPEAT!
Strategic camping at Kings Billabong, Rocket lake and The Common meant we were close by the Geoart and target night caches. Two previous trips in 2013 and 2016 by me and some by E.gregory meant we visited some (well quite a few actually) previous finds but that made it quick for the people that hadn't found them previously.
I can't thank the CO's of these caches enough as some were really very inventive. Even having solved most puzzles before we came we were confronted with field puzzles and gadgets that were just mind boggling. [:X][:X][:X]
***Thanks doheng for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

Mildura, Day 3
This morning it was out to complete some more of the turtle trail. We stopped to locate a few other caches as we passed by. Today we found such a variety of caches, puzzles, multis & some clever gadget caches which we really enjoyed.
Nice to see a cache to honour this brave airman. At GZ it took a while to find.

After driving up from Melbourne today, we were determined to find some caches before we hit the sack. Whilst our friends had already logged this one previously, they kindly acted as chauffers for the evening as we were very tired after the long drive.

Back in lovely Mildura for the 1st time this year, i was itching for something other than a Trad.
The flies and humidity were already getting to me so i wanted to do this Multi-Cache immediately before the real heat of the day kicked in [B)] [:o]
Went to the listed co-ords and gathered the required info. Paid my respects to our fallen.
Into the Geo-Mobile to drive to the final.
At the final i was looking around for a bit till the cache was finally spotted.

Had to do this but Mildura heat! Great tribute to Samual Pearce. Cracked 40 degrees out on the bike but some tree cover and tragic obsessive behaviour had me locating a few more caches - and that’s after the 6th puncture! So just a few more before departure to Melbs to collect car and then maybe head home to NE Vic IF the roads are open. Thanks to the Mildura CO’s for so many fun, interesting and challenging caches. Cache heaven!
Suscoe headed out this afternoon to find a few caches to the east and south of Mildura.
A lovely sunny afternoon.
We enjoyed the trip around the area and we were delighted with the horticulture of this region.
Thanks to doheng for this multi.
All good at GZ and a nice way to learn about Samuel.

Great weekend away in Mildura and surrounds grabbing some fantastic caches and catching up with friends. Drank way too much and felt very ropey all day on Sunday but woke up feeling revitalised for a Public Holiday Monday drive back to Adelaide.
This trip hasn't been about numbers its been about finding quality over quantity and was also great to come away with 7 multi finds as well towards our target of 500, whether we get there this year remains to be seen. Gave away a lot of favourite points here in Mildura some very good caching to be done here and hardly a mint tin in sight.
Saw one brown snake today which gave me the heebie jeebies at least I didn't step on one this time.
We had collected the details for this one on Multi Sunday whilst being swooped on by magpies in the park. Amazing memorial to the fallen in Mildura. We left the finding until today as we knew we would be in the area. TFTC doheng cache found relatively quickly at GZ,

Travelling around Australia, we have been camped on the mighty Murray. Today we moved into a caravan park in case it should rain as forecast tomorrow. Dont want to be stuck AGAIN.
Gathered the info for this one a few days ago, but signed the log today whilst passing by. Container was broken so we replaced it with a new one. Thanks for sharing the great history.

Almost going past, so stopped for the quickish find. Alas the container is in need of repair...

Up in Mildura for the school holidays and managed to fit a bit of caching in around the other activities. After collecting and crunching my numbers at WP1 I realised it wasn't a nearby find but I was headed in that direction anyway, so after a short drive I made the quick find at GZ. Thanks for the cache doheng.
Day 2 of the trek to Barcaldine Qld for the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster, spending a day caching around Mildura with honeysucker (well when he knocked off from work). TFTC.
Leaving Mildura this morning and we decided to tackle one or two last caches before heading South. We quickly set about grabbing the required numbers and then worked out the final co-ord's in the car and after working out the best way to the gz l grabbed a coffee and set off. We finally arrived at the gz and l set about searching the area and after a minute or two found the cache. Thanks doheng for the nice straight forward multi and for highlighting this remarkable local.
TFTC. After two failed attempts I can lock this one in. Taken 1 TB. No others at this location.
Found by Mary & David at 1030. A wonderful story of such a young man. True heroism and, as parents of a RAAF Officer, we also remember Anzac Day approaching. Dropped off "Divers Wanderschatz" TB. Gets a FP. Cache lid is now brittle and cracking. Our thanks to doheng.
While in Mildura we had a chance to some caching. I love multi's as it gives you local insight. A little puzzled about GZ and we must have made a mistake. Nice easy find when we got there scrambling over wood and scratches. Why here???? Salute to one a our fallen heroes. Thanks for the cache
Today nothing to find for me behind the airport.
I think I was at the right place.

We headed to Mildura for a couple days, and wanted to fit a couple good caches in to what little spare time we had. We gathered the required info and headed out to GZ.
After a bit of a scramble through the bushes, we spied the cache and signed the log.
The relevancy of the final GZ to the initial monument is great. A nice piece of history and a well thought out and researched cache. TFTC!

Nice easy multi, yes hard to get to the actual cache but, after found a way easier method though on way out, TFTC cheers DD
Loved learning about the history behind this memorial statue. Took 4 sets of eyes and a bit of back and forth searching before finally getting in the right position to spot this one! It was further across than where we started looking. Tftc!
Still could not find this one. I think I have the co-ordinates correct and went for a walk a little past the airport in the scrub but alas could not find it. I can see why you would need long sleeves but no good.
Nice day for a walk in the park. The end location was easy to find however the cache was hard to get to - kept an eye out for snakes. TFTC
A fairly easy find but very difficult to get to. Maybe long sleeves would have been a better option but this was a great cache. Swapped marbles and left some toys and stickers. TFTC!
First ever Multi Cache, really enjoyed it, hope to do some more soon.
Couldn't find an easy way in to where the cache was hidden but eventually got to it. only a few scratches but oh well.

Found at 2:34 PM GAFF1. I didn't know that Australian soldiers fought in Russia in WW1? Also how come he had a daughter when he enlisted when he was 17 yo? Was he already married?
Unfortunately that is the story of a lot of VC winners that we have come across - they died earning the cross .

i arrived at s1 in great light, sun was about to set. interesting place. after getting the numbers i had to double check if i was right - that's quite a drive! but after reading the listing again it seemed to be plausible, so i drove there. and found a cache! TFTC!
Found with Bogonghazy after having a day off caching yesterday. We netted in excess of 50 finds for the day, ate lunch on the go in the car, but found some fantastic hides during the day. After finishing this one off we headed back into town for the fuel we should have got before we headed off. Duh!!! It's hard to imagine young lads of this age heading off to war. Thanks to doheng yet again for the informative history and also for the cache. Cheers, Lisa
Sully and I had done the sums here and were glad once again that it took us on a route we'd pre-planned for the day. Thanks for another informative cache once again doheng. Quick find at the spot-on coords
Staying at Buronga caravan park so decided to walk into MIldura and locate a few caches
Tackled the first part of this cache yesterday-really easy to work out co ordinates
Today we headed off in search of the cache
A little damp under foot at ground zero due to tall wet grass but that did not stop us from retrieving the cache
Picked up a trackable to move back into SA
Our trackables enjoyed the fun of the hunt
