Tough walk for an old bloke with dicky knees. Tried via Bundanoon Road first - big mistake. Much better via Kenton Place fire trail hairpin bend. oK, now Ive just got to get back out.Hicky

What a fantastic spot. Of the 6 Found It logs since January 2022 only 3 seem to have signed the log for a find but anywaya fabulous old cache that has survived the times brilliantly. Took a bit of a scramble to get to the right spot and as others have noted but probably as intended, GZ is around 10m NE from the coordinates. Thanks to those who have kept this one going over the years. Cache signed and replaced with my Go Go Gadget arms!

Ooof wow what a freaking adventure. So heads up to the next cacher- the cache has a guardian and it is a rather large rose-gold snake coiled up in the same cave as the cache. I didn’t pet the snake as I don’t want to go anywhere near snakes so can’t vouch for how friendly snake is. Would bet it is not friendly. If snakes aren’t your worst fear right next to the snake is a wasp nest. If that doesn’t do it for you there’s heaps of spiders just everywhere. And to top it off you’re standing on a rock next to the cave about 75cm wide with a sharp drop off the other side... so all of this drama happened to me when I got to GZ and the only way I found it was through photos. The first thing I identified was the snake and quickly went back to the pictures.... yup this is the cave. Crap! Where the snake was is ideal for the cache so I looked closer to see and no it wasn’t curled around a systema container. That just left the other side and luckily I found the cache there. Did not admire the view for very long as I wasn’t comfortable sitting on the rock in front of snake. Definitely not a low terrain. 3.5 I think. I parked in the side street and went down the pipes trail as I’d heeded the advice from other loggers. Now I’m sitting in my car logging the find but still a little jittery and not sure if I want to find any more bush caches today!

Thus has been my third time here each time I have thought I was a long way above 1.5 terrain the other night I saw some photos thought I was near there the last attempt so thus time with some mates in support we ventured to get the cache. Once at the spot I tried to make it white knuckle caching by going around the back but found the cache before I had hone too far

With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache Stealthiest

OCW the Bebes. A hot day in autumn and a great location. Coords on my iPhone had us about 20m out but use your geo senses and look for an obvious spot. Tftc

OCW PelDroedGwin with the aim of tidying up some patches of The Shire.

A nice easy walk and then yes, it did get tricky ! So many hiding places here.

In the end a spoiler photo helped out and we had the find.

Great location and lovely view

Making Worronorra Heights unsafe today! Two DNFs, four finds.

Thanks for the spoiler photo, I was one layer of rocks too low without it. You need to be a goat to get to this one!

Easy find but a fun trek in.

After a bit searching and deciding to go high or low, I eventually found the cache.
Took the Kiwi to travel for travel to Port Douglas in April.

Tackled this one about 4 or 5 years ago with no luck, and decided it was time to end the drought. Parked the car at the woronora sign and jumped straight into the bush, not my best idea. A solid 350m of bush bashing, and 3 falls later, I reached GZ. after taking a breather for 5 I was able to find the cache after about 10 min. Not quite as devilish as last time. Tftc

#3423 (4 of 5 today)

Decided that after the roll yesterday I'd grab another slew of caches today.
The target - Engadine.
Went for six and found five. One short for the second day running.
A nice selection of short walks and park and grabs.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Full log to follow.
The terrain is more 3½-4, and I wouldn't have found it without the spoiler photo.

Parked near the Woronora Heights sign on Bundanoon Rd and followed a track past the guard rail until I hit some thick bush. With 50m to go I then had to decide how to get down lower. Fortunately I found some secure footing until I looked across and recognised a spot about 15m away that was in one of the photos. Carefully made my way over and after dismissing a SPOR, there it was well out of sight. A great little hiding place with a nice view over the valley. TFTC. #594.

18-Dec-15
I expected an easy walk and an easy find. I got neither!?! But I did have fun.

This should be fixed but the owner has left the game!?!

TFTC.

01-Dec-15
TFTC - this is much more than a T1.5... Either way.
I came in via the side street & waterboard Rd, but exited upward. Either way would easily be a T2.5-3.

I broadcast my find live via 'Periscope'

I took the advice of other geocachers and parked in Kelton Place. It was a short bush bash in. Saw the cave straight away and had CIH not long after. I climbed backed up the cliffs after which was a bit of fun! TFTC

Find #1632 - 2 for today. Found on 8/06/2015 12:58 pm
Also took the Kelton place and the pipeline track, defiantly the way to go. GPSr all over place, searched a couple of caves with no luck, but with the help of photos managed to locate the right cave. I was so close from the first cave I searched. Thanks. TNSLLN

photos helped! tried to tackle this one at night! heard a few scramblings in the night but found the caved and bravely reached up and in and found he little beauty!!

22-May-14
Logs and photos helped a lot with this one. Some of the logs stressed caution and not doing it alone so I took all the help I could get online then did it alone anyway. Not too bad but there are a lot of rocks that are unstable so it is wise to proceed with caution. Not one for the kids. On a clear morning my GPSr showed GZ to only be out by 7m. Once there, I was able to sit back and enjoy the view of classic Australian bushland. Really enjoyed this one. TFTC Stealthiest

12-May-14
After readin a few of the previous logs I thought I'd use the gps to get me close the use my geo-instincts. And sure enough there was the cache in the first place I looked. Such a nice quiet view over the valley. TFTC

12-Feb-14
My favourite type of hiding spot. Many, many places to hide. But also causes havoc on the satellite signals.
eventually found after reading logs.

18-Jan-14
Saw it approx 5 meter away. Took the right path to it. Definitely use the hidden road down. Tftc. Left tb

Wow that was some scrambling to get to that one! Bit tricky for the little geokids, but great fun! TFTC Smile

09-Nov-13
I think I got lucky today to find the prize so quickly, sitting in its cute cave! Great views from here, but not recommended for littlies, I'd suggest. The area has undergone fire hazard reduction in the not too distant past, so I looked like a chimney sweep by the time I left!

17-Aug-13
Thanks to the earlier logs we found it. The GPS is about 13m out as suggested by others. Once you know this the clue is a huge assist. Still a good cache and fun to do. Wink

"Pinged It" !!

I went looking yesterday after I found another nearby cache. The cliff stopped me so I decided to retry today. Thought I may have to resort to abseiling equipment, however found the way down Smile)

You have to do a little bit of work to arrive at this one, and be careful of the cliffs. While I was filling out the log a couple of wallabies bounded through the bush below me....nice touch. I left a small Kiwi sticker from NZ and some small alphabet blocks and some miniature cloths pegs. BTW the pencil needs sharpening for those that forget to bring writing equipment.

My GPS showed an error of around 10 meters at GZ, and the satellite signal was showing a 3 meter error (GPS and GLONASS). I think the cliffs maybe be effecting the signal.

Thanks for the cache Stealthiest.

Quick to get to GZ, but had the find the right hidy hole. Top view

01-Jan-13
Beautiful view.

29-Dec-12
Shocker!! Spent 40 min hunting for this in a 20m circle around GZ. just about to head out as geokid Ned had had enough and thought I'd make one last pass. Yup, there it was. Must have forgot to look round the corner. Took nothing, left marble. TFTC.

18-Dec-12
Sad very tough bush hop. Got to the bottom of the cliff face and couldn't find anything Sad

09-Sep-12
Hard enough! Coords 8m out but vertical slope made finding relatively easy. Terrain is tough! Took trackable. SL. TFTC.

13-Jul-12
Great bush walk off rocks, however we got to a cliff face and it was pointing off it :-/ great view however Smile

07-Jul-12
Last cache for the day. Found after finding something else nearby. Getting the cache in and out of it's hidey-hole is certainly not easy!

Cheers

22-May-12
I was surprised to actuall find a road you could drive down into the bush on and this is certainly an easy way to access the cache, you just need to contour around from there. Despite a few logs about the co-ords being a bit out (or perhaps I had this in mind) the cache was quickly in hand. Left a coin. TFTC!

TFTC Stealthiest, But what is a Pinger?
What a spot. There is no way that the terain rating is correct. I believe it should be a 3.
After occupying yesterday morning with 3 other Caches close by, I had run out of time to have a go at this one as well and decided to let it go till next time I was in the area. As luck had it, I found myself back in the area this morning and was ready to go for it.
I parked a bit away from the shortest entry location and walked back to where I found the best way down. At 18M from GZ, it looked a long way down but the hint indicated it had to be closer so hanging out over the edge I spied what appeared to be a suitable lodging, a rock shelf to access along and a more gentle sloping path down that started about 40M further along.
Upon arival at what I believed was going to be the location I found my GPS was telling me I was still 5M from GZ. I decided that the given co-ordinates must be wrong and started to conduct my search and within second spied what I believed was the hide and after a struggle had it in my hand.
It is not a Cache I would recomend doing alone if you are not sure footed on the crumbly Sydney Sandstone Cliff faces common to the area.
Now that I am making my online entry, I am wondering if I wrote the 15th or 16th in the Log.
Visited with a group of trackables picking up finds in the local area until another adventure can be arranged.

WooHoo!! Second time lucky for me. Retreiving the cache from it's hide was a bit of a sqeeze for me. TNLN TFTC

29-May-11
Third time lucky with a big, fat hint from 'sat down'.
Now we can cross this cache off the list of DNF's.

10-Mar-11
I took the direct approach, down the cliffs, although that's the hard way, the easy way is not that easy as well!! And the hide is quit tricky and in my case 10 meters off. I think this one is at least a 3/3 star.

09-Mar-11
ROCK HOPPING! Probably the best way to describe this cache. Bring good shoes, Limber up, and make sure you have someone with you. You should be parking on the bend of the sealed road that leads down the decline. The co ords are out by at least 25 - 30 MTRS. Lucky we had some assistance from Mrryanmurray which we would not have found the cache without him. For those still wanting to do this cache, get to GZ, look back to the cliff face. Caves are your friend! And BE CAREFUL. Not a kiddy friendly cache. TFTC Hope i havent spoiled the cache. Recommend co ords update.

30-Jan-11
I think this cache is far too lowly rated, I would go with a 2.5/2.5 rating minimum. If Stealtiest thinks this is a 2/1.5, heaven help us if they ever do a 5/5!! I would also like to see Stealthiest add that entry to GZ is much easier if you come in via the sealed firetrail off Kelton Pl, as I followed the GPSr originally and and came to a cliff line, grrrr.

Other than that this is one top cache, and I always knew hiking poles were useful for all sorts of things, not just for hiking! Thanks Stealthiest

27-Jan-11
Found it. I'm new to geocaching and decided to start with some caches near my home. happy that I found it on my first try especially as I failed to find Ruined Castle last week.

04-Jan-11
After reviewing a photo I decided to revisit this cache and if found, get better coordinates.
However on my way down the GPSr slipped out of my hand...no problem but as I bent down to pick it up, knocked a rock off the ledge which fell straight on the up upright screen.[:(!]
Scratch one GPSr [xx(] aaaarrrggghhh!
Got the cache.

03-Jan-11
This one is stealthy. The coordinates appear to be abit far off. I nearly gave up and luckily looked up the logs for hints and saw a photo posted up with a cave. I recognised the cave and quickly came up with the goods. It was about 13 metres away. TFTC. I should have taken a geokid for this one , I discovered I'm not as slim as I should be.

27-Dec-10
Well it must have been the wet and overcast conditions today as the GPSr was quite a way off from any of the hints.
Spent a good bit of time here trying to guess where the cache could be but ala cam away empty handed. Sad
Will try again one day. ( Terminator 2 ' I'll be baaacck') [B)]

Found many years ago with Sat Down. Now have own account. Logging in retrospect

20-Dec-10
Found it at last!!! Had an unsuccessful search about a month ago, when it was about 35 degrees and we were melting in the heat. Last time we were in totally the wrong place. In fact I think we were literally on top of the cache but unable to retrieve it.
This time, a much cooler day, we returned, entering along the correct path this time, and after a bit of bush bashing we spotted the likely hiding spot. I did not think you had to be too skinny for this one really but the ability to stretch up was of use. I found that my fingers didn't quite reach, even though I had broken through several spiders webs with my face and then I reached some more and got it. Found a pathtag and left a marble. Thanks for the cache Stealthiest, we had a lot of fun getting it!

14-Nov-10
Another Cach close to home. A late afternoon walk in the blistering heat with a bit of rock hopping.
Left RSL Badge and a Pathtag "Crane2" number 021618.

07-Nov-10
After having read the previous logs I knew I would need to take along my skinny stomach, but I lost that many years ago ...... So off I went anyway. Knew where to park to make the trek easier but finding the cache was a bit tricky. Hmmmmm then I had to retrive it and get it back into it's hidey hole. Eventually managed to do all that and left nice and satisfied. Probably a 2.5 terrain rating would be fairer and I have the injuries to the leg tp prove it.
Top cache.
Cheers

06-Nov-10
went to the top of the cliff and couldn't find it. we decided to go to the end of the road at the bottom of the cliff. we followed the gps with no success. searched 2 caves with the cache nowhere to be seen. [v]

18-Sep-10
We really struggled to find this one, came back twice during the day but to no avail, partly due to some possible GPS issues. We will succeed however!!

11-Sep-10
After a busy week of work it was great to get out for an hour or so for a spot of caching. Only two kids at home this weekend, and neither of them wanted to come for the trip, so Tally the dog got her chance for another adventure. Thankfully the dog is always keen for these trips.

We headed out to Woronora Heights and parked near the 'for sale' cars. Too far it turned out and bush bashing across from there is a daft idea. Back on the road and walked to the closest point, much easier. We stumbled, traversed, climbed, bashed, clambered and squeezed to the cache. Tally enjoys these trips as she goes off leash, something she wouldn't get to do normally at this stage of her training.
Found the cache in the second spot I looked, my memories of Stealthiest style hides still fresh from last weekends Urinary Trackt visit.

A top spot for a cache; I always enjoy seeing river glimpses when driving to Woronora Heights, it was good to stop and enjoy them this time. We crossed to the cycle way to walk back, there's a lot of traffic on this road. If only they'd open the Woronora Fire Trail to reduce this traffic Razz.

TNLNSL, thanks for another excellent cache Stealthiest!
best wishes,
Wal

Out this afternoon with the kids knocking over a few of our nearest unfound caches. We've been pretty close to this one before finding the final to another nearby cache.
A good hide and a great bit of bushland. Geo-daughter spotted the cache and also did the honours of retrieving it.
Thanks,

30-May-10
Nice hide! Based on the terrain rating I wasted a lot of time checking out the top of the cliff.
Suggest it should be raised to at least 2.5.
Otherwise, a top spot and great hidey hole. Just arrived back in country after a spell in the US, so this was a good cure for jetlag.
Looks like the local kids have been doing construction work at end of the fire trail.
Nice work Stealthiest.

08-May-10
I saw this one pop up this morning and as it was close by I thought I would go give it a go as it was such a nice day. I arrived at GZ and started exploring and had the goods in hand a few minutes later I had a look thru the goods and filled out the empty log to claim the FTF and put the goods back then retreated back up the hill to home. tnln cheers Bushy2233.....
