Ive got an extremely confident idea where it is, I just dont have TOTT with me today. Ill be back!!
After searching for a very long time we found it!!! Such a great hide and awesome view
Looked in a few wrong spots then the hint made sense. Thanks for bringing us here, now off to the famous pub for lunch.
On our way home from Portland today Team Crackers and I took a different route home to check on one of their caches in Skitpton that perhaps needed some maintenance. As we didn't have a lot of time on the trip I focussed on caches with lots of favourite points. I have stopped a this view many a times without ever realising there was a cache here. We repositioned the car and retreived the fantastic hiding location, but unfortunately the was no log to be found. I have reached out to the cache owner to let them know this. Unfortunately I had nothing to replace it with. Thanks demath for a great hide in a picturesque location.
Seen a cache like this before so knew what to expect used a nearby wooden plank to assist signed the log and off to Mount gambier TFTC find 368 thanks demath for this cache
Had lunch while waiting for muggles to leave. Easy find with hint but hard to reach. TFTC
On a big adventure from Canberra to Esperance and back to celebrate a year of good things (Happy Birthday Krispystrips). Today was day 27 of our journey and we made our way from Mt Gambier to Ballarat. Cant believe our time away is nearly over! There is always so much more to see on these drives than we ever have time to do, but we cram in as much as we can! Grabbed this cache with Krispystrips and GLISS! as we travelled along. Thanks for the cache.
Great construction. Found with Nibletricecakes and KrispyStrips on our Road to Esperance trip. TFTC.
I did it... and I have returned from another trip from Adelaide via Mount Gambier on my way back to Melbourne and this time I had something in my trailer that helped me get to the height and I needed to to retrieve this amazing hide super glad to have the tool that I needed to be able to get there to finally have a at this one thank you so much to the hider of this great cache. What a beautiful place to stop and enjoy the views Fav point for sure
On the way to Naracoorte for a holiday. Stopped here for a photo and then realised a cache with lots of favourites was here. A bit of repositioning with the van and the cache was in hand. Nice hide!!
We stopped for photos, and I noticed there was a cache a few km down the road. Then my phone's GPS fritzed a bit, and I was 50km off the coast of Sierra Leone. So, I asked SueHut to check the cache while my phone restarted."It's behind us!""No, it's a few km ahead!""No, it's... right here"We were standing right next to it.Thanks heaps for the cache!
There is a big amount of parking available here big enough for my semi truck which are returning to Victoria slash New South Wales from Adelaide and Mount Gambier but unfortunately I have no tots so I'm unable to collect this one today
A dreary afternoon meant no muggles so I grabbed the opportunity to nab this one, a pretty obvious location. Thanks for a well engineered cache. Lucky we had a trailer.
May 17, 2024 11:28 AMStopped here for another attempt at this one, this time with Mrs P as we were heading to Robe for the weekend. Having a fresh set of eyes helped and this time I had a search in a slightly different spot to where I was last time. And Bingo, the intuition paid off and cache found! Definite FP for this one! Just a side note, there seems to be moisture getting into it as the logbook was a bit damp. TFTC
It was a little surprise to mister I knew the second line ??retrieval was east now how to navigate the muggles to return the cache?????lots of sheep being herded towards us
Had heard about this cache back in Portland so had to make a stop here and attempt it.But damned muggles!!!! We sussed out where this one was going to be and then waited, and waited some more until finally we maneuvered the van to hide our search from them. Don't know why they had to choose this spot to sit forever and look at the mountains from! Just because it's a designated lookout!! The cache was then accessed and we were impressed by this hide.Showing our age by mentioning that we have this song on a 45 play record so knew exactly what the next line was and where we would have to look. Thanks demath and a favourite point from us.
SL at 11:40am. Roadtrip today with bdiaw heading to Ballarat for the weekend. This took a little while to find and maybe a little bit longer to retrieve. I had to keep a watch out for those damn muggle cars flying by. A slight hand slip and I ended up with a hand injury - ouch ??. A quick break here and then we were on the road again.*TFTC demath and the challenge!
A great roadside view of Mt.Sturgeon and Mt. Abrupt just west of the beautiful village of Dunkeld. An easy clue for older folk. Great hide. TFTC
Spotted it fairly quickly, need led to pull the car up nice and close to retrieve. Signed log and replaced, luckily no other cars were about. Tftc
Nice view of the mountains from here. Gee thats quite a substantial hide youve made. Well done. Thank you.
Ive been and looked at this one before and didnt have the appropriate TOTT. Passing by today on our way to the Adelaide Great Leap Forward mega we called in and soon had the log signed. Luckily the people that were in the wayside stop left just as we pulled in.
Well after a whirl wind tour of Tasmania to help with 3 challenges that Im working on, I got back in last night packed the car and headed off to SA this morning to attend the Leap Year Mega and to also tick off some LGAs along the way as well.Heading towards Millicent today as I missed the Mega due to the Rona that was going around so it was about time I made a visit there.Continuing along the Glenelg Hwy and I noticed this one on my map that a lot of favourites so I had to stop and call in.I had on board what was need to get to this one and soon added my name to the log.Now I can get the second line out of my head.Another fav coming your way. Thanks demath TFTC.
TEMBO! and I visited the cache "oh danny boy" and signed the logbook. We did not understand what the hint was trying to say. Thanks to demath for hiding and maintaining the cache.T4TC Filser1
I was getting my numbers up to 20 finds in this LGA. I used the bull bar as a TOTT and had to use a hammer as well since the cap was jammed that hard on. The views would have been nice if the mountain wasn't in fog. It was also rining at the time of finding this cache. Found with Mogni. I think this is the most changed trip in the planning stage that i have ever been on. The " original trip " was supposed to start on the 31st of dec but at the start of decemeber life changed and the trip was now starting on the 26th of decemeber and all accommodation that had booked cancelled and now see what else is free on the ealier dates. A major readjust of plans and got 1/2 the trip booked before the next curve ball came in to alter the plans again. More adjusting the plans again and i realized i could host 2 CITO's in 2 different LGA's in victoria. What we do to qualify for victorian challenge caches. Also i got my 20, 000 cache over in victoria in this trip. It was decided in the end that the 4x4 was going to be the vechicle for this trip that way we could go and target all the caches that you never get, the ones down the sandy/rocky/dirt and forestry roads/tracks. We left Adelaide and headed to Casterton for a couple of days, then to Budj Bim National Park ( and saw 5 koalas in the camp ground high up in the trees ), then over Heywood, a night in Mount Gambier plus there attended the 3rd CITO of the trip before sending a few nights in Millicent and then finally home. Over 250 caches found plus 86 lab caches. Mogni also got her 11th D/T loop. I also got 3 more victorian LGA's up to 20 finds mininium for another victorian challenage cache. If the cache was broken/eaten/smashed it was reaced with a new container and if the logsheet was wet it was replaced and if the log was full or almost full extra log sheets were added to the cache.
Quick find between muggles checking out the view?Nice hide, used the cache page info to narrow search...TNLNSL Thanks
Visited this cache site while we were waiting for the Information Centre in Dunkeld to open. Nice views of the mountains that I climbed later in the day.The cache wasn't where I first suspected but was soon found when I looked in the right place. This was not the first time I have used my 4wd in such a manner.TFTC
I guessed wrong one first however soon got to the cacheThanks I was glad I was in the motorhome
After a day of adventures and exploring the area, took some time to wind down the hours of the afternoon with some caches.Pulled in to the viewing area and marvelled the sight of both Mt Sturgeon and Abrupt backlit by a setting sun. After a quick check of the coordinates and a recce of the area, it became clear what was needed. After a few adjustments, and with the benefit of height, the well concealed cache was soon in hand.Quickly scribbled on the log and replaced everything as found - although, wondered if there is a risk of the log becoming loose and being lost?A wonderful way to round out the afternoon - by adding another smiley to the collection! ??
Spontaneous Spring Victorian Roadtrip
Day Two: Millicent to Ballarat
Weather: fantastic.
I fairly regularly pass The Grampians on the north side, but have to say that the aspect from the south is more impressive.
I have TOTTS on board, and the view is pretty special, so I thought I’d stop and have a look. Despite having a little bit of Irish in me somewhere, I don’t know the lyrics to “Oh Danny Boy”, and had to resort to Google. It confirmed what I suspected. I ended up using the retrieval method that the CO alluded to, and that worked just fine.
Thanks for getting me to stop here with this cache demath.
It’s officially a mega.

On way home to Melbourne from Mt Gambier and was lot of rains all the way. Stopped here and searched with little rain so finally found it. Awesome and great hide...! Managed to log during little wet weather. Enjoyed looking the scenery nearby. Thanks demath for bringing me here and the cache.

Great spot. Great Cache. Miss 12 was trying so hard to evade being seen by passing traffic!
Bunadoorian and I were people on a mission today to find caches to help fill some of our D/T rating gaps. This was our first cache after leaving Melbourne very early this morning. We had come prepared and it was a quick find for Bunadoorian. TFTC and for bringing us here demath.
After a bit of a search around Grub62 and I finally got an idea of where the cache was located and it proved to be correct. A well hidden cache was found and signed. Thanks for the entertainment and TFTC.
The song is still on my head. Watery potholes were an issue thought the campervan might drown, lucky we had the trusty ladder in the back tftc fav pt given
Day 6 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Today fitzy_1965 & I were up and packing as we move to SA today. Once packed, we headed to Corowa for some AL's, the virtual and the event that was on offer.
Once we left, we headed to Mount Gambier via regional Victoria. We targetted a couple of oldies and some with high favourite points before getting to SA on dark.
We had tried this one on a previous occasion but were muggled out. We now know that the cache was also missing at the time. Today, we were in luck and managed to get out our TOTT, sign cache and put it back just before more muggles arrived.
This is also my 17000th find! So a favourite point from me.

30,505. Found with minniek during our drive between Rutherglen and Mt Gambier during our Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip.
Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 6. Up early again and packed up the van in order to start heading over to South Australia - our aim tonight being Mt Gambier via the outskirts of Melbourne, Ballarat, Hamilton and onto Mt Gambier with a small number of caches targeted along the way. The drive itself was uneventful and actually quicker than I thought it would take. This was one of the targeted caches being a previous DNF. A quick find once at GZ this time.
Thanks demath !! Fav Point !

On our way to the Grampians we make a stop to enjoy the beautiful view on Mt. Surgeon and Mt. Abrupt. How nice is it that there is a cache hidden as well! Fortunately for us there a no muggles around and we can stroll and seek without being watched. Father and daughter (Hippie03) team up to get the cache. it goes smoothly and soon our name is also on the piece of paper. TFTC
Heading home after a successful caching trip to Portland. Just collecting the last few caches in the Southern Grampians LGA for a challenge I'm working towards.
A quick find and log, thanks demath for placing this cache.

Whoo hoo at last found signed and replaced as found. I have been after this one for quite awhile. Hevwalker and I were on our way to Ballarat to finish off the GeoTour due to last time the floods stopped us from completing it. Thanks for the beautiful views. Only a couple of muggles looked strangely at us as they drove by whist we tried to be inconspicuous as we stood around waiting to get it or return it to it's hiding spot. TFTC demath
scramping & I were on our way to Ballarat for the long weekend. The last time we came past here we did not attempt this one as there were lots & lots of muggles in the carpark. Not so many today, just 2 and down the other end.
The TOTT was deployed and the cache found, stamped & placed back as found.

Another day on the Great Ocean Road and up to the Grampians
The weather was cold, windy and wet. We deceided that we go to an old cache, Towering Inferno. After a short walk to a nice area, we found the cache after 15 minutes searching.
Then we did some other caches on our way to the Grampians.
We often log with our initals TGM (Team_Geo-Meijer)

Had to wait ages while a Muggle tourist took a million photos of each mountain, then each sign, from no less than 6 different angles… but the wait was worth it!

In Dunkeld for two nights preparing to hike the Grampians Peaks Trail. I was at this lookout two years ago before I was much of a cacher, and was delighted to find out there was a cache here!
Absolutely brilliant hide and a phenomenal view to boot. Will hopefully be looking back down in this direction from the top of Mt Abrupt and Mt Sturgeon in about 12 days time, all going to plan…thanks!

On a camping road trip to the Grampians, Mt Gambier and surrounding areas. Today we started heading back towards Melbourne and stopped in here to check out the view and of course find the cache. With the help of the hint, and the information provided we had a fair idea where the cache was located. With the aid of the geo4WD with camper trailer attached Mr. Pooky soon had the cache in hand. Fortunately there was no Muggles around today at the lookout, only the vehicles whizzing past on the highway. TFTC and bringing us to this spot, a favourite from us for the challenge, and the well constructed cache in the amazing hiding spot. The view was spectacular as well.
Lucky I've found one of these before , bit of a stretch to find it but perseverance always rules the day. Great cache placed in a stunning spot! Thank you for placing this cache here!
Wow!!! What a spot and what a view.
On our way home from Portland, quick stop along the way to stretch the legs.
This cache is a very sneaky and very clever hide, definitely a favourite!

I have been Geocaching for the last year as part of team Dromaniax. We have enjoyed the Geocaching caching around a lot of Victoria in that time. From our first trip up to the Murray River, the next trip to Lake Eildon and the area around Buxton, an epic trip to the Little Desert to attack the This is SA series, then a great trip with our father to the High Country in Victoria, a trip to the Mornington Peninsula and a trip to the Albury-Hume Reservoir area.
I finally decided to set up my own account and am claiming all the caches I have found as part of Dromaniax.
Thank you for this Traditional cache demath

Stopped for a leg stretch and to check out this view on Mt. Abrupt, which we climbed last week.
Found the cache easily, or where is suspect it was. Fortunately there were two of us and one can lift the other.
Easily grabbed it and took it down for signing.
Nice construction. Thanks for the fun!

Our last day, it was time to make the long trek home to Melbourne... after finishing a fun little series I headed to Mount Gambier to refuel and check out another Adventure Lab. From there is was down to Port MacDonnell for an oldie and a look around. Now for the drive home! A quick find, favourite point added! I think I've been here before, but there were plenty of people and we got muggled out. That was a long time ago! Thanks for the cache demath.
