Have decided it's time to archive this one, as there have been ongoing 'maintenance' issues over the years.
Last one in the area for today, back for a few more tomorrow before leaving. Nice easy solve of a show from my previous UK past and an easy GZ to locate. Sadly the outer container had been taken and was lucky I spotted the loose log left in the gap. I see the CO has now archived this one. Thanks for the cache anyway Lion Fish.
We set off up the hill after breakfast with a wish to beat the recent Autumnal sunshine. A few caches up on the Mount before a walk through the shops then a few more caches prior to dinner. Walking distance of around 15kms was more than we thought. Great day to be out and about, thanks all COs.
We're on a bit of a road trip this week and travelling a wee bit of part of the North Island as we go. We headed up to Auckland at dark o clock on Tuesday and overnighted at Aunties on Tuesday night before heading to Tutukaka Coast for 2 days and visiting our son and his family. On Friday morning we headed down-country and headed to Mount Maunganui and stopped off for just a couple of caches on the way before checking into the work apartment for a couple of nights. Nice couple of days on 'The Mount' before heading home in the pouring rain on Sunday.

We had planned to come over to Tauranga today so I solved this puzzle this morning. Found it but there is only a log here - minus the cache - sorry I didn't have a replacement on me. Needs maintenance please. TFTC
Worked this out while mrs watcache did the adventure lab thank you for the puzzle cache cache all good here
First time visitor to Tauranga and I’m here for a couple of days from Nelson kitting out the offices for a new work branch opening in Tauriko in a few weeks.
Work done for the day I took a wander around the gorgeous harbour and beach areas before tracking down some food and a beer or two.
This was one of a few puzzles I’d solved in the months leading up to this visit.
A nice quick find which is good in unfamiliar territory
Thanks Lion Fish

Down at the Mount for a small break before everybody heads back to school. After the trip down by and unloading be the car we all sat down for a rest, but soon felt the urge to get up and moving after sitting for so long.
This puzzle had been so I'm bed by Mr. Kiwi quite a while back, so it was good to be able to be grab it after two other previous trips down this way. We parked up near GZ and walked on over. Following the hint it didn't take long to find the the cache.

Out for a morning of caching. The main objective to complete one of the Adventure Labs. Solved this back home while planning my trip to the not happening Mega.
Have had a long day but thought it would be nice to finish off on a cache. Was passing by here and had a quick look. I knew I’d need my sisters expertise for this one. Had most of what I needed in a matter of minutes.
My mother was always a huge fan of the show, so got subjected to a lot of it when I was younger. No problem with the research required and all good at the final location. TFTC
We really enjoyed solving this puzzle some time ago even though we aren’t fans. Finally were over this way and had a chance to find the final.
#377. ....I think. Right location but I think the owner may wish to check/maintain this - the GC now resembles an unhidden point-bag at the 1st post. Tftc.
Nice straightforward find. Haven't solved a lot of these so nice to get another one .
New Zealand entered Level 2 (Covid-19) on Thursday 15 May 2020, and it is now considered safe to resume geocaching in New Zealand. Wishing you all happy & safe geocaching.
Covid-19: have decided to disable our caches until it is safe to resume geocaching.
On day 41 of our cruise we visited Tauranga New Zealand.
Together with my geocaching friends the Seelanders we made a lovely walk in the surroundings.
Most of the caches were quickly found.
For me this was a difficult mystery, fortunately the seelanders knew the answers

On our return journey from Gisborne and heading to the Mount for the night. Because of a smash and grab in Whakatane at the beginning of our trip, we are pretty nervous leaving the car, so choosing to walk around the Mount. Its so crazy busy around here with cruise ship in, but managed to find this area quiet enough to make the find. I can't even remember when I solved the puzzle, is how long its been sitting here solved waiting to find. Glad to finally get here and get a smiley. SL. TFTC.
Checked on cache this morning - happily it is still there. Not sure why recent geocachers couldn't find it. Left a path tag for the next finder. Happy caching everyone.
This was a fun and challenging puzzle for us non-Coro fans. After googling up a storm and then using the hint we managed to locate and sign the cache. Thanks for the challenge and TFTC
Oh dear. A DNF. Very explicit hint that matches exactly our coordinates, but when feeling everywhere possible at the post according to the hint there’s nothing there. We even extended our search a few posts up and down and found nothing. I know it’s dangerous to say you think a cache is missing, but I do think this one is gone.
Thank you for the cache! I’m on a holiday journey in New Zealand and Australia with my husband foomanjoo and my parents sob55 and harmony9. The people and the scenery have been spectacular! Thank you very much for making the trip even brighter with a smiley
We are now home from our family holiday adventure so I’ve taken a minute to reflect on some memorable moments.
The city of Auckland, New Zealand saw our first cache just a few seconds after getting off the plane at the airport, and then later amidst the fish market and Sky Tower. We cached our way through Rotorua's geysers and bubbling springs while touring with a cousin who lives nearby and joined us for the day. Then to Napier where the caches were stashed amid all of the Art Deco buildings and antique cars. In Wellington, we encountered a breathless Josh caching all the way up to Mt. Wellington. At our next port Akaroa we found caches in Rolleston, Arthur’s Pass (by train!) and at the lighthouse at the port. We then set sail through Milford Sound and onward to Australia.
In Hobart, we found Josh and Lee in the park by the port and searched in vain for a caching event, but could not find them in the New Year's Eve crowds. At Port Arthur there were caches in the gardens next to the remains of the Penal Colony and along Pirates Bay where we saw Remarkable Cave, Devil's Kitchen and the Tasman Arch. When we arrived in Burnie we walked to caches in and around the small town of 22,000 and we followed a path along the seaside to a man made waterfall and extraordinary rock formation in a park. We cached and toured at the iconic Sydney Opera House, walked the Royal Botanic Gardens, and sat in a chair that was hewn in stone. We made our way to Lane Cove and posed for a selfie
under giant gum trees, seventeen of which are squiggly! In the iron oxidized soil of Uluru we found caches among the rocks and paths, including a miniature version of the inselberg itself. Then we flew to Melbourne where our first cache was a puzzling one in an alley next to Flinders Street Station. We visited Hosier Lane's Street art while on our way to another. We drove to the Great Ocean Road and cached at a really cool place Crowes Buffer Stop, which is the site of an abandoned rail stop complete with flat bed car, tracks and sign. We finished our trip in The Grampians where in Halls Gap we found our last cache along with cockatoos and roos in a rock climb just above an incredible view of the valley below.
It was a fantastic month of adventure and family – my husband Miles (harmony9), my daughter Carey (forestmanjoo), and my son-in-law Josh (foomanjoo), as well as a new friend that we met aboard our same cruiseship, Lee (Cache_Lee). We saw some amazing sights and met some wonderful people.
Thank you for placing this geocache, an important part of our memories of this adventure!

Fast and fun find with forestmanjoo, SOB55, and Ray-O while on an adventure off of the Noordam. I solved a handful of puzzles before leaving home and this was the only one I had time to find. I had never heard of the show but the Internet held all of the info. Thanks for the fun, Lion Fish!

This is the only puzzle that I have had my mother look at and solve for me as the subject matter is not something I have every been interested in (I say that with pride) and she has most likely seen close to 100% all the shows ever made. Solved sometime ago before a previous trip we never made it close to GZ to pick it up. This time while on the way to the Mount we stopped for by and made a quick find with help of the useful hint. TFTC.
I was on a road trip with Tuolei, Jag50 and Supernanny with the main purpose of collecting some of the TMGT caches. I've had this on my solved puzzles list for ages now and while we were getting some lunch at the nearby market I snuck away to make a nice quick find of this cache.
Kept me entertained for a while as I was googling coro facts. Turns out GZ is quite close to my work so this was an easy one to grab. TFTC.
I noticed this puzzle earlier in the week so solved it before I left home. There was some head-scratching but then everything fell into place. I used to be such a Coro Street fan but I think when they started messing around with scheduling I caught onto the fact that it was all fiction and now if the TV happens to be on when Coro starts, the switch gets the flick. (Oooo I do hope John B doesn't read this. He's still hooked.)
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache .

Solved this puzzle while in our van freedom camping last night. Very quick find and simple when we arrived at the gas. Thank you for the cache.
TFTC - Very popular with dog owners who seemed to head straight for the cache but did not sniff it out.
Replaced log sheet today, and added a small pencil; happy puzzle solving and caching everyone!
When I found out earlier in the week we were heading this way for the weekend I started to look at a few of the puzzles and this was one that I managed to solve. Was familiar with theme so knew the characters straight away and then it was a bit of googling to find the next bit of information before gaining some co ordinates. Turned out our hotel was actually very close to the gz so after some breakfast we went in search of this cache.A quick find but log is full.
#590. Mr Northwood took one of the junior Northwoods to Mount Maunganui for a sports tournament and some geocaching. Tauranga and the Mount were where Northwood senior grew up.
I actually sent this one to Mother Northwood to solve (Taids Lost) and sure enough I got the right answer back very quickly! Almost as quick a find this morning. All quiet. The cache log is full, I found a spot. TFTH

We are not Coro fans, but with the help of Google we managed to solve this puzzle. Staying near GZ we made the short walk across the park, and soon had the cache in hand.
With the power Google, this was a quick solve. At GZ Tim found it in the place Viv had already checked!

We were on a magnificent New Zealand cruise all along lots of ports on both South and North Islands and when we pulled into this port we had to climb up to the top of this hill to admire the views. Luckily the kids were with me to provide cover for the heavy muggle traffic today. Absolutely perfect weather as well, couldn't ask for more.
I had pre-solved this before arriving and luckily it was right near the ship so I picked it up before heading up the mountain. Nice easy find with no one around thanks to the hint.
Thanks Lion Fish for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

With rebel98 on a weekend of caching fun
I had solved this a couple of years ago, but did not have time to find during that visit. So this cache was one of the must finds for the weekend. We came in darkness, we had a bit of fun driving to the closest point to walk to GZ. A few circles where had. But a GZ with the detailed hint I was soon locating the cache.
Thanks Lion Fish for the puzzle and the hide. The searching for the information fell into place, and co-ords where soon created. Have not watched this show for years, but those loyal fans must be pleased, at last we have caught up with the UK.

Never watch Coronation street but it’s amazing what you can find on the Internet. Completed this after a dinner out. No problem doing it in the dark. TFTC
Was looking around to see where I would go caching today while in Tauranga for the day and came across this one which looked like I could solve it. My mum is a fan and in my youth (a long time ago) we used to watch this programme as a family. I knew most of the characters pictured but couldn't tell you the answers required but Google is a friend in these situations and I soon had a green tick. Today I went off in search of the final. Had to wait it out while a pile of muggles walked by and didn't search well enough in the first spot I looked because I ended up looking elsewhere in a few spots before looking at the hint and heading back to the first spot. It has been a morning with a few DNFs so I had been doubting myself. Found where it said it would be. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide Lion Fish, would say more but don't want to spoil things for anyone.
I always knew my Coronation Street watching would come in handy one day! Solved this puzzle a couple of weeks ago and today was in the area and found the cache fairly quickly. Thanks for the great hint... and a puzzle that was fun to solve!
Ashore from the NCL Jewel. I had heard of Coronation Street, but never watched it. When I realized ithis mystery cache might be close to my ship AND there was a GeoCheck, I decided to see if Google could help me out. It did. I was happy to make this my first of four caches found in Mount Maunganui. Thanks for a fun puzzle and an easy find in an apt location.
I've have looked at this cache a couple times but not being a fan didn't think I would be able to solve it. But the other night I decided to make an attempt on it. Funny enough there were names I was familiar with as I have family that watch it religiously. Lol. With help from Google I came up with a solution and got the green light. In the end the puzzle wasn't to painful after all. So tonight I decide to make the grab. Pull up and the theme song comes to mind. I ask my daughter what she thought the theme of the cache was and you tube the theme song for her. It was so funny playing the song on the way to gz with protests from my daughter. Your so embarrassing mum. Crack up! Arrive at gz to make a quick find. Thanks Lion fish. For an entertaining night out. Tftc
Solved before heading on holiday. Picked up today. First mystery in a long time. Right where the clue said it would be. TFTC
Worked out over a coffee then nipped across to collect it. It wasn’t where the clue said so we’ve moved it back. TFTC
Mrs KL is a big fan, but didn't know her numbers, so we had to ask Mr Google, who pointed us at a good fan wiki. A bit wet for an extended hide, but thankfully it was quick. TFTC.
Solved this a while ago, saw the puzzle and shuddered. Memories of having to sit through this at grandparents houses came flooding back.
Stopped by on my way from from Mount Meetup, took a few minutes to locate. TFTC (i guess, even with the theme )

Solved this one some time ago. Had to research this one as I am not a Coro fan. A quick find. All in order. TFTC
Solved this quite some time ago with the help of a few websites & wikis online. Have no idea of the full details as I was never interested in the show. Had been to a nearby market & took some time out to hunt down this final. Forgot a pen, so photo log it is. Great puzzle & TFTC!
I'm not a fan of Coro. But funny thing happened... we were in a 2nd hand shop down the Mount end and I spotted a book on Coronation street and who lived in each house. We brought the book and went home to figure out the puzzle. What a huge help that was!!
Once we worked out where we needed to be, we had the cache in hand.. signed and put back as found.
Thanks for a fun puzzle

I knew I was going to come this way for the half marathon this weekend so I decided to get stuck in and solve this mystery. Managed it after a bit of google search, quick find at GZ, TFTC
On a trip over the Kaimais to escape the fog/rain & enjoy some lovely mid-winter BOP sunshine instead. Was expecting more muggles but enjoying having the area pretty much to myself this afternoon. Solved this nice little puzzle years ago when I first started looking at puzzles & can't for the life of me think why I've never been to look for the final. Good to finally sign it off. Nice quick find here. Cache signed & replaced as found, on my way again! TFTC
I had solved the coordinates for this a few months back as well as some others in the area but I have taken some time away from caching but decided today while visiting this location today to track it down. Thank you for getting me back into it I didn't have a pen on me but have taken a photo instead
Bit of a cursed day geocaching today in the wind and the rain, managed to get my geocaching bag swiped some point, very disappointing. Still, not Hilda and Stan's fault, mine really. Managed to solve this one back in Auckland, I am not a watcher but my sisters are - at family get togethers they can be caught talking about the characters like they're real people. Other like minded fans have taken to the interwebs so it was easy to find the information required. Thanks for placing this here - two cruise liners in town and you're pretty close to them here - impressive!
That took a bit of googling! What an incredibly endless amount of information held about this series. But what amazed me is how long this film has been going on for. Tftc Lionfish
Hiya from the UK! I'm on my hols visiting friends in Papamoa, so this cache seemed very apt.
But since I've never really watched Coronation Street enough to know the answers, I had to ask Mr.Google for help and he came up trumps!
Puzzle solved, it took a few days to get down to Tauranga to collect the loot, but once at GZ it was all very straightforward. My first Mystery cache in New Zealand and possibly my only one for this trip, as my flight home is on Thursday!

It was a joint effort to try and solve this one. We both only remember the ginger cat and that told us it was time to go to bed when we were little. TFTC
In anticipation of a day trip here I had solved a couple of mystery caches and this was one of them, I was pretty stoked to see the golden princess cruise ship in harbour - that Is massive!. My mother will laugh when i tell her about this puzzle I solved as she loves this programme. Made my way to gz, was a little creeped out by what I hope was a leftover new years party remmanant and not something sinister so left pretty quickly. I did have to laugh when I googled the gz co-ords, that definitely helped this out of town cacher with knowing where to go. Tftc
I have to admit that I have never seen anything of coronation street, to be honest, I have not even heard of it. The serie didn't exist in the country I grew up
But thanks to google and wikipedia I found all the answers - people watching the serie really do know this?? Found on a nice sunny day before going to the butchery on the other side. Not sure what the first part of the hint refers to (didn't look really new), but thanks to the second part it was a quick find. Just grabbed up and had it in my hands. Thanks

I live with two Coronation Street fanatics and have visited Castlefield any number of times (mainly for the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry) but I still needed Google for the house numbers. There was a huge market event when I arrived here today but by 3.45pm it was much quieter and I was able to grab the cache. Nice hide. TFTC.
Being an avid Coro fan Mrs TS solved this no probs and Mr TS did the retrieving and signing while up for a conference. TFTC

This was a great puzzle we have never watched the street so had to ask uncle google but got there in the end TFTC
#579 - I now know way to much about coronation street! I put off finding this one for ages, as I no nothing about it. But once I figured there was so much info out there on it, It wasn't to bad. Find was nice and easy thanks. Park was looking really good no rubbish or homeless people here.
I've been waiting to find this cache for quite a while since solving the puzzle and finally had some time today with co-cacher Sarahbee20 keen to go a-hunting. Enjoyed the puzzle itself as I'm a keen C Street fan and we found the cache pretty quickly. Tftc.
Out and about in the Mount today with KathyKaches and decided to have a look for this cache as we had solved the puzzle a while ago and hadn't got round to finding it yet. I don't mind Coro but definitely not as dedicated a fan as kathykaches Got to the area and had a race to GZ, she found it first! Thanks for the cache
Great little brain teasr..once solved it was a nice short walk and quick find and sign enjoyed this as the park was very quite....I can not believe the amount of rubbish that is dumped in our wonderful park its shameful thanks Lion fish for a great cache
I ignored this puzzle for a long time as I am definitely NOT a fan of coro st. Eventually I gave in and looked at it. Co-ordinates came out surprisingly fast considering I felt I was doing this under duress. After a rare day of planning, fresh air was required so off we went. Of course it had to be there. "new"???? Not any more. And then I didn't have my geocaching "feeling fingers" on so had to go for a second sweep. How did I miss this the first time??? The "homelessness issue" was certainly at the forefront as well, with mattresses and belongings stashed nearby. Thanks for the cache Lion Fish.
Solved this puzzle a long time ago. Heading over to the Mount today so finally decided to pick this one up. Thanks for the puzzle.
Finally the homeless have moved on, although I think they may have left some of there belongings
behind.
Cheers

Phew, got there in the end!! Had to walk right behind muggler homeless chaps, playing a guitar nearby, not a Coro fan either but got there with the help of Google, and fellow cacher. Another puzzle ticked off. Many thanks. TFTC
The puzzle took a bit of online research - I was surprised at the turnaround of tenants/owners. Not a fan myself - don't really have time for watching tv AND solving geo-puzzles. Fun puzzle and find - thanks!
Coffee + Sushi + Internets = CORDS
