A few finds to keep it easy today. On way to get a long TOTT replaced or repaired. TFTC Rainbow Spirit for a nice scaling search. Spotted it within a few minutes and signed it off.
Out today with Calypso62 for a bike ride.Completing some caches along the way.No luck with this one today.
I was out for a bike ride with Rama497.We began our trek near Guildford Station with plans to ride to Prospect Reservoir. The route would then take us to Calmsley Hill Farm then head east to Canley Vale Station. Here we planned to board a train back to Guildford Station. The distance we travelled today was 33km, all on fantastic shared cycleway.Searched some places. Climbed a bit but didn't have any luck finding this one. Another time.
Found 12:51 pm with fiance. Catching up on logs. My lovely other half treated me to a weekend away for my birthday. And we ended out here staying near Eastern Creek raceway. As part of my treat she lets me do a day of caching or as much as I want. So here we were now finding caches. This one had me looking and wasnt quite where I was expecting. Looked and looked, checked comments but photo is what helped. Then slowly zoomed in and got ya after spotting it. Given the nature of a lot of caches out here will give this one a fav point. Too many not that interesting. Thanks for the cache.
Came back with a milk crate but didn’t end up needing it as it wasn’t where I thought it was. Read some more of the logs and reevaluated and remarked and the cache was soon in hand! Loved the logbook in this one so creative!
My girlfriend would not have liked to see me climbing like that
Signed and returned as found; TFTC!

I’m going to have to come back with a milk crate or something to get the night vantage points; too dangerous for me otherwise I think
Seems to be a theme with doing this cache in extreme heats so seemed fitting for me to do this on a 38 degree day. This one was challenging for me, please don’t do what I did and climb onto a ledge with nothing to stop you falling down into the bush below. Thinking I was alone, stupidly decided to try this and down flew a guy around the corner on his skateboard scaring both of us. Luckily my survival instincts kicked in and I fell forward.
Hmmm, pretty sure I know where to look but I'm to fat to get up and the boy wouldn't climb up...maybe next time
Helpful hint from a previous log gets us off to a good start for the power trial!
This was a tricky one! Spent half an hour looking. The trick is to get really high and keep an eye on the bolts! Found 25/8/21 at 5.45PM.
This was the last before going to the Event this morning and I managed to snag this one fairly quickly. Glad it was early morning on a Sunday so I could do some monkeying around d!

Good fun, loved the climb, took me a couple of tries after I moved around the spiders.
Out caching today in the 40 degree heat with Adonis & Meritonnn. We didn't see any other people out and about in the heat of the day but we did see some of the biggest spiders I've ever seen! Also, no snakes - but I'm sure they were around somewhere.
We reviewed some previous logs and had a good idea of where it was. Adonis and I both made a play for it but he picked the exact right spot.

They sure do breed some big spiders around here! I'm not very agile at the moment due to carrying a few running injuries, so Adonis was kind enough to make the grab here. Nice one. Tftc!
Wow this one was tricky, after spending about 10-15 mins here searching high and low we decided to call it a day and set about getting some of the nearby pot of gold caches. As we found the first cache in the series, I decided to recheck the logs for this cache and all of a sudden I felt a little better about finding this one, so we made the small walk back and had the cache in hand in 2 minutes flat! Very Sneaky! Thank you
Second attempt at this one this morning with mrwhiskers76. We attempted this one first, as it was closest to the car and nearby the start of a trail. With no luck we proceeded to the first cache of the trail with a fairly quick find. We came back to attempt this one with a fresh mind, after looking at the cache details. We made a quick find and signed the log and replaced. Thank you for the cache!
DNF for this one, had a good look all around GZ, also looked at previous logs for hints. Maybe.I am getting to old (70) to climb up, I should have brought my ladder so I could take a better look. Rainbow Spirit.

Very sneaky little hide. We thought we might be here for a while but made the grab pretty much straight away. Tftc
This is a great idea for a hide and lots of fun. Unfortunately I think it's not exactly what my hand surgeon had in mind when he told me to take it easy for the next few weeks, only a couple of hours ago. I had a bit of a go but it's very tricky one-handed so I'll have to come back another time for a more determined look. TFTC anyway!
First ones from 2019 to find!! Thanks Rainbow Spirit. Easy for some, not hard to find, make sure you climb and maybe look behind
On a day when the temperature reached 39 degrees, only mad dogs and crazy cachers go out in the midday sun! But we wanted one last hurrah to end 2018, and so EverestHigh and Brewmaker headed out west to attempt the Pot of Gold series and others around the area. We had a successful day overall, but the heat got the better of us at times and we had a few DNFs. Thanks for the variety of hides. I remember cycling through this area back in my pre-caching days. Happy New Year and many caching returns in 2019.
Our first for the day and the one to give my the NYE souvenir. While I was trying a PAF, EH grabbed it. Even he had to go up a couple of levels. Good position, but glad it was him and not me. TFTC

Fox in Jox, AngelG27, ZQX and I (Team FATZ), left Canberra at 6am, to do wps 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 of Great Aussie Icon Hunt #3, picking up a cache in each county on the way. Where possible we found high d/t or old caches. We arrived back home just after 10pm, after an enjoyable and productive, but tiring day.
This was the Fairfield find, chosen for the D/T. Spotted by Fox in Jox. TFTC.

Cache 4276 on 20 Oct 2018
After a long hiatus, we decided to get the (geocaching) band back together and head out on a day mission before it gets too hot and before the silly season starts! The band is FATZ - Fox in Jox, AngelG27, TikvaNZ and ZQX. For this mission, we decided to focus on the waypoints for the Great Aussie Icon Hunt - SYD to CBR, but doing the waypoints in reverse. Along the way, we also focused on grabbing some new counties, interesting DT combinations and a couple of JASMER caches thrown in for good measure. A very long day with a very early start, but with good buddies a lot of fun.
Unless otherwise stated, caches were found in good condition and in accordance with any hints.
This cache: was worried about the recent rain, but not a problem in the end. Nice one!
Thanks Rainbow Spirit for the cache and the fun!

Fox in Jox, AngelG27, TikvaNZ and ZQX (aka FATZ) went on a Saturday Windmall Wander to pick up waypoints for the Great Aussie Icon Hunt #3. Along the way, we picked up good DT caches, caches in new counties and Ausmer/Jasmer caches.
We chose this one to get another county, but also because it had a nice DT combo and looked like fun. It was. A bit of agility was needed to spy the cache for a quick sign. TFTC

It was a grey day. Visibility was not good. But in our favour there were four of us: TikvaNZ, AngelG27, Fox in Jox and me. We signed the log FATZ to save space, as the log is running a bit low on space. It was FIJ who saw it first but TNZ who grabbed it.

Out west later in the day for some finds. Decided to finish the Pemulwuy Powertrail (less a recent DNF with subsequent DNFs), re-try another DNF and a first attempt at a cache I've avoided for no reason I can think of. Oh, and there's another new one nearby as well.
Found all five without any great problems.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Not sure why I've left this one - maybe the D/T, knowing what the CO does for some extra terrain. What I saw at GZ was not what I expected for this one - should have checked the description and logs... OK, should be doable.
Main problem was the regular, but thankfully not constant, flow of muggles. Finally had a break and decided to try my first spot...
Nope, not there, but I can see something a bit away. Monkeyed my way there - gotcha!
That was easier than expected.
Took to the park on the western side to complete signing duties, then the wait again for more muggles and back for the replace.
Time to head home.

Happy birthday Rainbow Spirit. It is Halloween Day if I am correct.
Found my way in this neck of the woods and thought this might be and easy one until I looked at the T/D. There is an incentive.
Once again I found myself inappropriately dressed but was up to the challenge again.
Thanks for another one Rainbow Spirit.

Dan suspected a certain spot after looking at some photos in the logs. Even though the cache was out of sight, he managed to find the cache at the first spot that he geogroped. Ya gotta love geocaching. We left a TB that we had picked up in Currarong last week.

The "vertical ambiguity" of the site means that there are many possible hiding places, but the D/T rating points to the best place to start looking and I found it within a couple of minutes. It's thrills like this that make geocaching worthwhile.
Wasn't sure what to expect here. But seeing the D/T rating, I had a thought about the location and the cache hide which turned out to be correct. Great hide. Well done. TFTC

Hunted around but due to lack of wings and a dead leg from MS, I claim a DNF. Nice end of structure. And probably the best set up curves for this type of ramp for cycling.
So this is my 38th find. I'm still very new to the sport. I consider myself to be a bit shy and very cautious. I admit I used the hint, previous and photos when it dawned on me what the phrase "monkeying around" means. I considered just turning around and coming back with people reinforcements but thought I'd at least check it out. I'm short so I was calculating if I'd even be able to reach. I gave it a go. Got the first one. Jumped down. Grabbed my pen and thought "how hard can it be?" So up I went. Harder than it looks to open the container, sign the log, close it up and replace it all one handed. What a relief and sense of accomplishment. Made it safely down... phew! Deserving of a favourite point. Great hide. TFTC!
I was ready to give this one up but RansyRed got adventurous and ended up snagging it. Previous log messages helped
After about 15-20 mins and bit of monkeying around managed to find it with help of past logs, hidden very well
This day has been very good to find some caches in this area. [:o)] Together with Pitsch Patsch we walked this distance. Most of the hiding places could be found well thanks to the good coordinates and directions. [^] The route was ideal to walk, every now and then we saw a few cyclists using this route.

Today we thought was a good day to go on a bit of a mostly Rainbow Spirit morning cache hunt with Phantom Cyclist. These ones fill in some more smileys in this area on our caching map. This one was a more difficult one to find as it was not readily visible, but after reading some logs we got more of an idea on where to look. The more agile member of the group went for this one and managed to find and retrieve it. The log was soon signed and the cache was then returned to its proper position. Thank you Rainbow Spirit for placing this more difficult and therefore more interesting cache.
Being a nice sunny day it was decided to spend the morning caching with goingplaces2. This cache was eventually found after some monkeying around. We both signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks Rainbow Spirit for placing this cache.
Good thing hubby is a monkey man! Great cache. Grabbed trackable and will move it on.
With a little help from the c/o finally did a bit more monkeying around, avoiding the big spider webs and finally spotted this one. Dropped of TB Huntsville, AL - Bicycle Geocoin # 2 (TB39WRE / OCZZQ2).
I enjoyed this cache very much. A fave from me.

28/10/15. 9:16 AM. Cache #3144. Streak day #493.
2nd of 6 this morning - Prospect, Edensor Park, Merrylands, Quakers Hill & Castle Hill.
After grabbing the FTF at "Come Find Timbertop Reserve #2", this was my next target. I'd been muggled out yesterday, but didn't want to miss out on the 8 months worth of unfound day credit. No cops about today. Did the required monkey business and spotted the cache a metre or two east of where the satellite photo had suggested. Shuffled across, grabbed and descended to sign the log.
Then spotted a muggle approaching the ramp and had a lengthy wait until he'd passed before the coast was clear to replace it. Off to "Our first cache" for the next one. TFTC.

I had just redeemed a former DNF at "Pot of Gold PT, Red 1" and hoped to do the same here. This one would have netted me 8 months of unfound credit. I'd seen that the CO had just reenabled it, so expected a find - walking over here from Red 1, this would have been my 6th find of the day.
Got up to the overpass level and looked down to the nearby houses. There were two cops speaking to the folks at the nearest house, and it looked like they'd be a while. I would surely be spotted if I got up to any monkey business, and they'd surely wonder what I was up to. So, not good timing; I'll have to come back another time.

I'm continuing my run through the JQ Cars series and some of the other caches in the area today.
After a DNF at Pot of Gold Red 1, my luck had started taking a downward turn today. I walked on to this one and refreshed the logs to see what has been happening lately. Not much - a DNF in April and a most recent find in early Feb - is it even still there?
I passed bush care workers and ascended to GZ and then did the necessary simian moves. I craned my neck and looked everywhere that I could. Not a sign of it.
That's 2 DNFs in a row now, plus I had to skip Tow Mater and Guido because they didn't seem to be findable. I looked at what else was around. Green and Brown doesn't seem a good option - no finds since July 2014 and no confirmation from the CO that it's there since October 2014, so I had to skip that one too. Oh well, back to the Cars, then - JQ's Fillmore.

I saw a post on the Sutherland Shire Geocachers Facebook page and decided a bit after 7:00AM this morning to join a trip along the Pot Of Gold for a couple of hours. We stayed with the group for 3 hours before calling it a morning.
This was the first find for the day, visited a group of trackables.
