Out for a walk with the dog and thought to show Joanne what Geocaching is. Shame we couldn't find this one the first attempt ??
Found on our 2nd night caching in the bush near where we meet. Ruru_nz, Saethwr and JollyM were with us.
A prime opportunity came up tonight. Abbykit had to go to Otatara this evening, so as these were on my to do list. And they'd recently been maintained... why not!!!
So armed with torches and a most handsome guide, i found the ones i looked for
Not a breath of wind or drop of rain tonight !!!

Found with the dog. Am loving all the birds here. All caches in great condition. Bizarrely I met today one of the granddaughters of Mr Fosbender who donated this land to the council many years ago. Thanks for bringing me here.
Nice easy find, unfortunately log book is a bit wet and didn’t have a replacement with me to put in
Our last cache in Invercargill! A quite find, which was needed after 2 DNF's. Thanks so much for placing one in this lovely reserve.
In Invercargill for a ten pin bowling tournament, had Saturday morning to fine some caches around Oreti Beach and Otatara before my next game. I enjoyed the walk in this reserve. Thanks KiwiGeoswami for the cache.
I'm from germany and hitchhiking around new zealand and this is one of my last stop overs before flying back from Christchurch. Thanks for leading me through this forest with those caches!
Visiting Invercargill for the holidays so decided to have a look around. Only had my phone today and the accuracy was +/- 50m... That made finding the cache in the area rather difficult, but I eventually got them all! TFTC.
I arrived in Invercargill this morning for a few days work here. This is the first time I've been this far South in 50 years - and I was just a toddler on my previous visit... I had a couple of hours to spare before getting down to work today so went off to find a few caches. And now for a wander around this cool reserve. Last cache in the reserve for me today and it took a little longer to find than it should have done. Although it was right where it was supposed to be it was hidden a little differently than described. All good in the end. TFTC, Biggles.
Day 4 of our south of south Nz caching blitz, found our way to scenic reserve, what an oasis, feels like you're miles away from town, loved the stroll. Nicely protected from the weather in this reserve. Tftc
Down in Invercargill with the Manawatu U15 Championship boys hockey team for the tournament this week, and plenty of caching. Enjoying a pleasant walk through the bush collecting caches along the way. Didn't take too long to work out where this one was, TNLNSL. TFTC.
Found it took us a while to find found with ajs1877 ,my sister and my step better dad aka Ben
#4545. I have been down south on a work trip but not getting much opportunity to go geocaching. Decided to take a day of leave and rent a car so I could explore some of the caches hidden on the outskirts of Invercargill. Nice warm sunny day as well which makes for a nice caching experience. Parked nearby and headed off to do this circular track. This proved to be one of the highlights of the day. What a superb forest remnant with was spectacular podocarp forest present (totara, matai, kahikatea, rimu and miro). Saw 2 red-crowned parakeets and also a few brown creepers as well as tui, bellbirds and kereru. Really enjoyed the bush walk. Even with the explicit hint it still took me a surprising amount of time to find this one. Not helped by missing it on the first sweep. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding the cache here KiwiGeoswami.
My first visit in Otatara Reserve. I thought there might be less muggles at middle of the day. No problems with this one. TFTC.
After doing a few jobs in town I had a few hours to sort before heading to guides so headed here for a walk and some caches. Parked opposite the 4 square so got "I've Dunn it" before I'd actually Dunn the walk.
Initially overshot this one, but followed the comprehensive hint and quickly had the container in my hands. Out about 10m today with the cloud and tree cover.
Thanks for the smilie

The other carpark was full so I parked at the hall. I don't know where all the people are which left me alone at the GZ to pick up the box. SL, wrapped the log and stuff in the bags again and rehid. TFTC
Day # 3 in New Zealand on a geocaching holiday-trip covering Thailand, Australia and finally my beloved NZ .
I had so much looked forward to return to this beautiful country, and now I'm here again - awesome!
The weather was really challenging today [B)]. Had to cancel the planned trip to Stewart Island and instead explored Invercargill in the wind and the rain . Good thing about 'plan B': This opened up the chance to cover more cache-types of Southland [^] ...
At the end of the chilly and extremely windy, rainy day I not only had survived , but happily collected 18 Caches of 5 different cache-types - cool!
I liked the walk through Otatara-Reserve a lot! [^] Very peaceful and lots of birds [^] .
This series was very nice and I enjoyed it !
Hey - Invercargill, you have awesome caches [^] [:X]!
So thanks to all the Owners involved [:X] [:X] for hiding and maintaining. [^]
Cheers from Germany

Down for an dog agility show so a nice walk after a fun day and fish and chips with Alfie my cavoodle
Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on a winter holiday with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, setting our tent up at a different campsite each night. We didn't have any real plan, just went where the caches took us we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day as 3 weeks isn't really that long!
Done the walk at night! TFTC

Our GPS had us 6m further on but the hint helped put us in the right place although for a few minutes we were a bit fixated on a certain type of tree until the hint was re-read and we reassessed where we should be. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
This one had us scratching our heads as our GPS had us a few metres down the wrong part of the track and the hint led us astray for a few minutes before common sense took over and the 'where would I put it?' was asked. Found with debsnz
We decided it was time to go for a drive and a walk and another drive, and how awesome to have a great destination with a few great caches! TFTC!!
Bit bewildered for a start -too many trees. Lovely to visit area during day when it's not raining. Tftc
