A real nice walk! This cache is a bit hard to see but it's just one step away from the path
A prime opportunity came up tonight. Abbykit had to go to Otatara this evening, so as these were on my to do list. And they'd recently been maintained... why not!!!
So armed with torches and a most handsome guide, i found the ones i looked for... no birds were tweeting. Beaks must've been firmly tucked under feathery bums!
Not a breath of wind or drop of rain tonight !!!

Found with the dog. Am loving all the birds here. All caches in great condition. Bizarrely I met today one of the granddaughters of Mr Fosbender who donated this land to the council many years ago. Thanks for bringing me here.
Searched and searched and searched and sadly couldn't find anything. (Apart from a painted rock) First DNF of our Stewart Island/ Invercargill Holiday.
In Invercargill for a ten pin bowling tournament, had Saturday morning to fine some caches around Oreti Beach and Otatara before my next game. I enjoyed the walk in this reserve. Thanks KiwiGeoswami for the cache.
I'm from germany and hitchhiking around new zealand and this is one of my last stop overs before flying back from Christchurch. Thanks for leading me through this forest with those caches!
Quick find. On holiday from Christchurch and enjoying some caching with ThelittlesNZ. Tftc
Visiting Invercargill for the holidays so decided to have a look around. Only had my phone today and the accuracy was +/- 50m... That made finding the cache in the area rather difficult, but I eventually got them all! TFTC.
Thanks a walk around the reserve this morning to stretch the legs. A bit stiff after running the Kepler yesterday.
I arrived in Invercargill this morning for a few days work here. This is the first time I've been this far South in 50 years - and I was just a toddler on my previous visit... I had a couple of hours to spare before getting down to work today so went off to find a few caches. And now for a wander around this cool reserve. I walked the trail in an anticlockwise direction. I overshot GZ by a few metres but after a bit of a look around spotted the hide and it was all good. TFTC, Biggles.
Day 4 of our south of south Nz caching blitz, found our way to scenic reserve, what an oasis, feels like you're miles away from town, loved the stroll. Nice quick find which was great as we are bit pushed for time. Tftc
Down in Invercargill with the Manawatu U15 Championship boys hockey team for the tournament this week, and plenty of caching. Last day in Invercargill today so out to get a few more caches this morning after dropping another parent off at the airport. This loop track in the bush looked ideal and so parked up at the Awarua Road entrance, which meant that this was the first on the list. Quick find at GZ before setting off clockwise for the next one. TFTC KiwiGeoswami.
#4542. I have been down south on a work trip but not getting much opportunity to go geocaching. Decided to take a day of leave and rent a car so I could explore some of the caches hidden on the outskirts of Invercargill. Nice warm sunny day as well which makes for a nice caching experience. Parked nearby and headed off to do this circular track. This proved to be one of the highlights of the day. What a superb forest remnant with spectacular podocarp forest present (totara, matai, kahikatea, rimu and miro). Saw 2 red-crowned parakeets and also a few brown creepers as well as tui, bellbirds and kereru. Really enjoyed the bush walk. Favourite for the series of caches on this trail. The cache was quickly found thanks to the explicit hint. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding the cache here KiwiGeoswami.
Found all safe and secure with no idea why I didn't do these last time I was here tftc
The last on the track and nearly the end of walk.
Thanks for the hints - it took me straight to GZ after working out which direction #2 might have been (not showing so assuming archived).
Nice little hiding place and lots of caching type cover. Hope I interpreted request right when I removed all but one of these pieces of cover leaving the last in a natural position and scattering leaf mould where I'd scuffed it out of the way.
Thanks for the smilie and a pleasant way to spend an hour before I needed to be this evening.

Found where Otatara Reserve 2 was from the old listings which made the walkdown and the search for No.3 easier. Found the little box in good hide and SL. Re-wrapped the log in the bags and rehid. TFTC
Day # 3 in New Zealand on a geocaching holiday-trip covering Thailand, Australia and finally my beloved NZ .
I had so much looked forward to return to this beautiful country, and now I'm here again - awesome!
The weather was really challenging today [B)]. Had to cancel the planned trip to Stewart Island and instead explored Invercargill in the wind and the rain . Good thing about 'plan B': This opened up the chance to cover more cache-types of Southland [^] ...
At the end of the chilly and extremely windy, rainy day I not only had survived , but happily collected 18 Caches of 5 different cache-types - cool!
I liked the walk through Otatara-Reserve a lot! [^] Very peaceful and lots of birds [^] .
This series was very nice and I enjoyed it !
Hey - Invercargill, you have awesome caches [^] [:X]!
So thanks to all the Owners involved [:X] [:X] for hiding and maintaining. [^]
Cheers from Germany

During our Sabbatical trip we made our way down to Invercargill as well. I found this one beside a nice little walk today the 15.01.2017 and achieved one more nice experience...
Many thanks KiwiGeoswami, moin moin, and best regards sends Dr. Dose...

Great place to hide it, this is our 3rd find we have just started our geocahing adventure
Quick find by the 5 year old member. Thanks for the caches around this walk. Great way to spend a Saturday morning
Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on a winter holiday with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, setting our tent up at a different campsite each night. We didn't have any real plan, just went where the caches took us we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day as 3 weeks isn't really that long!
Done the walk at night! TFTC

Number 1 for the day. A great excuse to go places l've never been before, considering ive lived in city for 20 years.
Lots of walkers in the late afternoon and we had to wait for them to pass before returning the cache. Found with debsnz
We decided it was time to go for a drive and a walk and another drive, and how awesome to have a great destination with a few great caches! TFTC!!
On a very dark rainy evening I found the Geocache. placing a stamp only so I wouldn't get the log too wet. Tftc
Before going to Invercargill we did this beautiful circular walk. We easily found 4 out of 5 caches, but failed at the last one. Thanks for hiding and showing us this wonderful reserve.
