7 August 2024This is find number: 10305Streak Day: 3156Found Today with Snoopy1976, thanks. Thanks to TEAM SMS for placing and maintaining this cache. TFTC
Streak Day #4045 - Out this way with Dave8153 for our cache of the day, stopped by for a quick find. TFTC
scrambling down the cliff face while caching with hjckrau and andes. bro's gotta make the terrain rating higher
OCW hjckrau, theinsteinium, very quick find once terrain is traversed (much harder than 1.5!). Log is soaked however
Instant find by Theinsteinium yet again. Nice hide on the other side of the fence from the playground. OCW andes and Theinsteinium. TFTC!
Found the contents scattered around and collected everything we could find not sure if it was supposed to be better hidden we just put it back on a rock, also the notepad went mouldy so couldnt write
Recovered the contents which were scattered around but its not in the original hiding spot
OCW morty8888 around Cherrybrook today. Left this one for young morty8888; the loose leaves on the rocks scared me off. No problems locating the cache.
Thanks for placing this cache TEAM SMS

Heading inland and somehow avoiding the rain, Oldmorty and I headed to Cherrybrook. This was the first of the day and it was easier coming up than going down but no problems really. TFTC!
Not a T1.5, more T2 with access either from the road or jumping the park fence. TFTC
#5, arrived at GZ and noticed I was on the wrong level. Luckily the climb wasn’t too bad and had cache quickly. TFTC
After an extensive search, just as we were about to give up, we made the find. Last one for the day. TNLN TFTC
Found it during lockdown. Definitely go in quiet times when no one is likely to be in the playground.
Great spot - found with the kids during lockdown. Definitely need to come in quiet times due to proximity to playground.
Perfect timing as I found it just as a whole swarm of muggles descended down into the park. Took the cache back to the geomobile and signed it there, then returned it once the muggles left. TFTC!
Find # 71

Lots of hidey holes to look through.
Wasn’t successful today but enjoyed the location.
Will try again soon.

I came looking for this one a couple of months back, but under the cover of darkness I felt that discretion was the better park of valour.
I returned this afternoon, and after finding the cache, I was glad I’d not attempted this at night.

This one involved some climbing,
And a bit of timing,
Now J and I have found plenty,

Dropped in with Lyn999 and Puff_25 to swap TBs. One in, one out. All well with cache. Thanks again TEAM SMS
When I arrived I found I had the place to myself... until I didn't. By then I'd found the cache and was in a highly exposed spot, so I contrived some c=kind of strange reasons to be where I was. I'm pretty sure the new visitors to the aokr weren't all that interested. I never knew this park was here. Grabbed TB. TFTC.
I loved this park here, will have to come back with the kids one day. Nice cache too. Love the bushy backdrop here. TFTC.
Finally able to make the grab on this one! I passed by here a few months ago and found the park occupied, then once again this morning I passed by to once again find it occupied however they were soon to leave and my chance was here! Quick find, great spot! TFTC!

Sundays are not complete without a swim and a few geocaches. This time I drove to Cherrybrook for a few easy caches.
After first checking out the deserted playground I concluded the only way is up. So a bit of climbing and the cache was found. Left a geocoin which has been in my possession too long.

Had to resort to previous logs for this one. Saw that the co-ords were out. We found it shortly after expanding our search area. We found that S33.42.454 worked for us. Took the TB that was inside (it was not logged to this cache but in the hands of the previous cachers) and dropped off a TB.

Exploring a new area one cache at a time.
Nobody at the hidden oath today so we were able to make a quick find

Being close to home this one has been a frustrating DNF when we first tried it several months ago. A few halfhearted attempts since have done no better but today was the day. Frowny face begone! Found with Lyn999 and Puff_25, a most satisfying turnaround. Nice little hidey hole, replace the camo as well as could. Nothing taken, nothing left. SL and ttfc TEAM SMS.
Reading past logs helped us narrow down our search area, but it still wasn't easy. In the end a chance glimpse in the right direction resulted in finding the cache.

Four sets of eyes including @bigswifty1 but no find. One gps playing up and the other accurate but still no luck
Quick park and grab, after my youngest had a AFL carnival at a local park

Tftc, wet day, needed to fill in an unfound day, headed up to Cherrybrook up dropping the geotoddler off at daycare. Luckily it was an easy find and I remained relatively dry. Relatively.
What a lovely part of the world, and such a pleasant little park. We decided to come out to Cherrybrook and have a look at some walking trails, with a park and a cache thrown in to keep both me and my little son happy.
The little guy had a wonderful time playing on the apparatus on the playground while I took a quick diversion to have a look for the cache. It didn't take long to spot the hide and extract the container. Signing duties completed and the cache returned, I went back to the playground to watch my kid master some of the tricky parts of the obstacle course.
For most of the time we had the place to ourselves. Then a man appeared and came looking around the table and benches with an air of determination, as though he had lost something and was trying to find it. Perhaps he'd left a phone or something behind. He certainly wasn't using any stealth and was also in the wrong spot. I though it pointless to ask him whether he was also looking for the cache ...
We also spotted several of those structures in the trees that look like termite mounds. I have not yet been able to ascertain what they really are. They don't seem to be communal birds' nests ...
Nice outing and a really great, quiet play park that we have discovered.

Located at 6:10pm. Second DNF expunged. I’d asked Coastblue for some assistance with this because it was located in a children’s park and I wasn’t about to get in trouble for looking dodgy there on my own. Traffic was bad for Coastblue so I decided to have a quick check as the park was empty. And guess what...I found it! Happy to finally log this one. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
OCW Alephroom. A quick stop before an event. Alephroom made he find before I had a chance. TFTC!
Walked down to the deserted playground and thru the gap in the fence . GPS then had me at the base of the wall. Previous logs said to climb. No luck. So I climbed down moved back and found an easier climb. Two steps up had CIH. The coords are out , try S33 42 452

Returned with a bit more time and geoboy in tow who ably scaled the wall to GZ. TFTC!
Spent almost thirty minutes searching...could not find :/ Maybe weather muggles have disrupted its hiding place.
After having been in Thornleigh doing some business it was time for the cache of the day. I had been here before wearing just thongs and therefore couldn't do a proper search. Today I told Hagar where to start looking and he found it within a minute.
There was no problem with kids in the playground today, it was way too hot. In fact, the cache was only a few metres from the car and I found I could get there without going anywhere near the playground. After a bit of scrambling around I spotted a likely place and soon had the cache logged. I returned largely as I approached, although regretted taking a bit more difficult route. Thanks TEAM SMS for a good hide which would be much harder on a busy day at the playground.
With a dnf for the last log, I thought I might end up with the same, but I decided to not trust the phone app for accuracy and went down lower than street level and worked my way up. I fear of heights is nuts, but i could cope with this height. Great park. TFTC
Looked everywhere not sure What i did wrong. No one has been here for a long time. I wonder Is it still here?
Stopped off on the way back home after visiting the Amateur Radio NSW (HAM Radio) bi-monthly Trash & Treasure sale at Quarry Road Dural, to pick up this one. 5th find of the day.
Parked the geomobile above the cache, in Josephine Crescent, and then climbed down and across to GZ. Thankfully the playground was deserted today, so no suspicious muggle eyes watching my every move at GZ. Checked in many hidey holes, before finally spotting the hide, where it was then CIH. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found.
I think the Terrain rating could do with a half star increase, bringing it up to T2, to better reflect what needs to be done to access the hide. TFTC TEAM SMS.

Finally found with frazel on their 900th find. Took a bit of searching but CIH.
Not sure why this didn't log on the day I found it. Was in the area and going to head to this one, looked at the photo and saw my name, came in to log and the comment was still here.

This one took a while as we were searching at night and GPS was all over the place. GPS finally settled for us to make our 900th. Totally addicted. Another smiley face added to our geo map.
Came with koalas patrol from 1st Cherrybrook scouts. Took an army figurine and placed a coin. Great cache but the terrain rating was slightly inaccurate. Nice park that we didn't know was here. TFTC
The terrain rating on this cache is very misleading, I would say it was 2.5 to 3 star terrain.
Just as I pull up next to the playground entrance it starts pouring with rain, guess the geodogs will have to stay in the car for this one. Waited for the rain to lighten up and the I put on my rain poncho and went into the playground. I couldn't get a lock on GZ and realised this hide was outside the playground, so went back roadside and still couldn't get a lock and decided the terrain rating has to be incorrect. Didn't really have the best shoes for this area and the ground cover was even more dangerous with the rain adding an element of slipperiness. Eventually I did find the cache after contemplating giving up but glad I didn't. SL #2464 on streak day #1354 TFTC

So close but yet so far. I followed the iPhone to an area that sort of matched the clue but my guess is that due to poor reception it had me searching much further away than I should have been. At one point it suggested to go into the playground which I did when my phone rang. After the discussion it pointed me back outside again. Grrrr. Reconsidering, I decided to focus on an area that seemed logical but had many options so I systematically worked my way along until bingo - CIH. My average time to find has been dreadfull today TFTC

Found my first cache!! After coming down here a couple of times to search, I eventually made the find by being more systematic. Many possible hiding spots and great location. TFTC
Came out to collect some free computer parts - perfect excuse for a cache or two, as I don't often get up this way.
A couple of RFS guys were inspecting the trailer when I arrived, but didn't pay me much attention.
More than a few potential hiding spots were checked before making the find.
Thanks for bringing me here.
Cheers!

Went for a walk with three geocache newbies! Found it - good amount of easy find but fun/creative! TFTH
Headed down to Sydney with Mumma-Kel today for our regular geo-outing, and after knocking over the series of caches in Pennant Hills Park we found ourselves in nanoland ... almost every cache we found during the rest of the morning was a damn nano. This one, however, eluded us despite a fairly extensive search across several terrain levels. Since it's been more than 2 months since last found, it may well be that the cache has been muggled.
Looked for awhile with Opa-shrek while passing through today ... An empty park gave us a good opportunity to tramp about, but dispit our efforts far and wide we could not locate anything remotely like a cache.
