We were supposed to do a whale watching trip today, but it got cancelled as the whales were outside the area. Instead we set off to find a few caches. A quick stop here to find the cache after a lunch stop in a cheviot cafe. TFTC
On a big trip to the North Island. Just needed something else to do other than driving. So decided to find this cache. Right where you said it would be. Log a wee bit moist but could write on it. Signed as TBA. Found by D. TFTC
Trouve ! / Found it ! 5212me cache trouve.Merci bumandworker pour la cache 5212th cache found.Thank you bumandworker for the cache
Up doing some other stuff, and needed to collect a cache for todays streak day. No issues here. No sports or horses in the area today, but there was a cache. TFTC bumandworker, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 1 today, making this find #4520
On my way to Timaru for the weekend, stopped in Cheviot for coffee then to this cache. The log book was too wet to sign, I replace it with a new log book. I see this cache was placed here 13 years ago today. Thanks bumandworker for the cache.
Been to Chch for the weekend to pick up my new car and driving back to Lower Hutt today. Stopping to get a few caches along the way. This being one. Felt a bit awkward retrieving the cache. It didnt feel right to have to jump the fence to access. Log is drenched but I managed to get my name on. Thanks for the cache.
After spending four nights in Christchurch, we are on our way to Kaikoura. This was a natural stop to stretch our legs.
When I started looking, things began to look familiar. Yep, I'd been here before. The difference is that this time I found the little puppy -- after I read a few logs and vaulted over the gate. TFTC.

Goodness that was some ride you did no wonder happy to arrive here. Thanks for the cache bumandworker.
We are in Cheviot. Walked here to get this one snagged and tagged. Cheers
Day 5 - Christmas Eve Friday 24 December - From Amberly we return to Picton today. With the Seagnoid departing for wellington this evening. With a few stops along the way to help the day go by. Were dragging Toby along with a dead battery today. Bummer.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are of on another Geo adventure this time to Mt Cook for 5 days. Met up with Bullertrout and Bro on the way down. Lake Pukaki was fine but Mt Cook was wet and wild with the Hooker Valley being closed due to high winds, so did not stay long. We went exploring Tekapo, Timaru and a round trip to Lake Coleridge. Short trip and very tiring but awesome.

I found the cahe and thought... Bumandworker!! Checked the description. Yep, correct. I haven't seen a b&w cahe in over a year. Nice that I can still instantly recognise them.
Part of a big trip with Taybeedragon to explore Mt Cook. We explored a little of it but there was gale winds, lots of cloud and rain. Some of the tracks had been closed and others were right dodgy given that we did not have our foul weather tramping kit. We had booked to stay for two nights but left the same day. More time to explore parts of Canterbury! So now I have been to Mt Cook . Still yet to see Aorangi.

A quick stop here for another easy find. Log signed and we were off to the final cache for the day before heading back to the caravan for tea. tftc
#10197. Day 6 of the South Island road trip around the top of the South Island (Canterbury and Westland) with Infoferret. This trip was planned to replace the Labour weekend Auckland Mega adventure. We have stayed overnight in Murchison and today are heading to Christchurch. The weather has improved in the morning and by time we reached Canterbury it was like a hot summers day.
Finally reached Cheviot, one of our key locations today. We had just been to get the multi final and decided to divert around and pick this one up as well. Its well guarded by low lying branches. While I was figuring out how to access it, IF leapt like a gazelle (or perhaps like an eland) over the fence and scrambled into the thicket and grabbed the cache. That is clearly how you do it. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks bumandworker for hiding the cache here.

Down South for a few days for a wedding and all the stuff that goes along with it, hiccup, burp etc. Today it was an early morning run by myself through Cheviot. Good hint, easy find. All quiet here.
It was time to locate a few of the PWGT caches out North Canterbury way and any others that might get in the way.
This was one of the others.
Cheers for the cache.

This one didn't take too long to find but finding the right size and positioned hole in the fence too a little longer. All in good condition.
Fourth find on my South Island adventure! Getting out of the big smoke for a few weeks, road tripping around and hopefully picking up a few caches along the way.
This was a nice easy find after the multi I’d just completed - cache was exactly where it should be, and the hints were spot on. TFTC!

Not the end for us either, we were staying in Cheviot and collected this on departure. Would be nice to bike around here. All good, thanks b&w.
After visiting Marlborough and doing the Queen Charlotte Track, time to stop in lovely, quaint Cheviot. Always wanted to stop here and have a explore. A bathroom stop and a cache are good excuses! Would love to come back and do some walks in the area. Cache #250 for me! Quick find and all in good order. TFTC
One of the few Cheviot caches to mop up, so to speak. Pulled up, waited for a few walkers heading my way to thankfully make a right turn, then it was a quick find. All good, TFTC Bum.
Homeward bound to Blenheim after a weekend in Chch, I have targeted a few caches on the trip back. In the end I did not get away until the early afternoon, so could not do some of the short walks I had planned. Just park and grabs then. Thanks all COs. Not many found but no issues with any of them.

A quick stop off here in Cheviot to get a drink, bathroom stop and a quick grab at a nearby cache. Parked across the way from this and reached through the fence to retrieve the cache. All good and replaced as found. T F T C b&w
With our eldest (NZ) daughter down for a long weekend we decided on showing off some of the best of the Top of the South namely Marlborough and North Canterbury. I had booked a holiday home in Hanmer a few months ago and we were down to stay on Friday and Saturday nights. The weather forecast wasn't looking too flash for the Friday trip down, nor the Sunday return, but we weren't likely to be thwarted. There was torrential rain heading through Kaikoura and we later heard of rocks damaging a passing motorists car and road being closed so our timing was good. By the time we got near Cheviot the weather had improved and a couple of caches were grabbed before we arrived at the destination.

Staying in Cheviot for the night...took an evening stroll to grab a cache or 2 tftc B&W
The lawmakers mower's were busy eating away the grass here. Thanks for the placement bumandworker
A twilight walk and easy reach over to find thanks to the hint. Now realise that the previous hide was a micro, not small, and a bit away from where we were looking- yes, that hole in the end of the rail?
A quick find and our last for the day as we had to get back to Christchurch. Didn't have time to visit my nephew so I just waved at his house on our way back down the road.
Thanks for creating this geocache.

I nearly missed this one and a couple of others nearby as I hadn't planned on coming as far south as Cheviot and I drove off the side of my loaded pocket query that went through the centre of town. Discovered last night so able to do them this morning before heading north. TFTC bumandworker

This is what I love about geocaching. You get to find all the nooks and crannys of these lovely wee towns. Great night for a hunt. Many thanks
Working back through my notes, and discovered one I forgot to send through. So rectifying this now. Quickly found, but I snagged one of my favourite shirts on a branch and tore it, so not happy. Mend or throw? Decisions, decisions.... TFTC
Ah! I went on one of those rides. They were great - one of the few that you didn't feel you were lining the pockets of the organisers, and little else. And funnily enough, I didn't actually recognise where it ended as I hadn't driven there before. Thanks.
Kaikoura
What an experience it has been caching in Kaikoura, every way you turned it was either mountain or sea scenery. We learnt so much abour the earthquake you had here last year,

It's been a while since we went for a nice long day of caching with sonia26642, so we decided that it was time to do it! We started nice and early and headed up north to target mainly those neither of us has found, and some odd one one of us has. We had an amazing day of adventures!! We have been signing the logs mostly as Team Polak to save time and log book space Thanks for all the great caches along the way!!!
I am catching up on my backlog of caches and I see that I missed logging my finds from a fun day I had with a Jess.daphne, The Burnsy and a muggle friend, in Cheviot! We found lots of neat caches and had a pretty successful day. We logged as JeJeBuN to save time. Tftc.
We enjoyed a visit to Cheviot today, The Burnsy our muggle friend and I came up from Chch and met up with Injeanious who came down from Kaikoura. We signed our logs as JeJeBuN to save time and space.
A bit of a awkward spot to search but found eventually. TFTC!

Out for a walk around the Town while my wife is at a seminar. Lovely place, so quiet, so open. Thanks for the blue container, so much easier to spot!
Found by Mrs Graemey , Graemey and friend after having visiting Anglican church with William Morris stained glass windows. Just missed the A&P show which takes place tomorrow. TFTC-Nice hide.
Found on our way back from the north island and it is so good to be back found with team_macdonald TFTC
End of the ride......... It nearly is. After A long drive from the north island and still some more driving to go to get back to South Canterbury the end certainly is in sight. Tftc found with rayzr2
Quick find....fortunately as big black cloud drifted in from the south. We ferreted in GZ and had the cache in hand, just as the cloud left the scene.....tftc

We were only partway through our stroll but we did call in at that promising-looking Office hoping to collect some Prize Money. No, we searched all the places we could think of but left empty handed.
On our way to Blenheim which is our start for our 10 day holiday.

This one did make only a little sense to me.. at the end of the building where the GPS led me to, there was that one hiding spot that could have been awesome to use.. but no other places. I was struck by the contradiction in the description that it's listed as a micro, but description says I'm looking for a 200ml container (which usually is a small).. Hmm.. Then other people say this is a very clever hide, but no fav points? Huh..
So.. I walked around the building and found a spot that fit better with the hint... poked aroind quite a bit but still didn't find anything.. I probably just look in the wrong direction...

A DNF on this one and then I was asked what I was doing as I was walking back to the cachemobile. Told a little white lie that a friend had lost a ring there and had asked me to look for it seeing that I was passing through.
Tftc.found it after looking all around building. This was a very cool secret cache.

Thanks for the cache and greeting from Czech Republic!

Touring the South Island on a family holiday. A little time for a few caches along the way as well as sight seeing and other fun. Thanks to all the owners of the caches we found while exploring some interesting nooks and crannies of the Mainland.

We grabbed this one with our newly converted friends who are locals and used to mow these grounds. Apparently the grass will be mown before Xmas which will give the grass time to soften up a bit before the only annual event there in April. TFTC.
