I can see why this one has gathered a lot of favourite points. I was rained out on my last visit and had to vacate and post a DNF. The very kind CO's sent me a message following their recent maintenance run and provided me with a strong hint. Today I decided to venture into the area for an evening stroll along the trail after the heat had died down a bit. Armed with the hint I made short work of finding the very cleverly camouflaged cache. It does stand out once you see it, but only once you see it!I was surprised to find a damp log book, which was still signable, as upon close inspection there does not seem to be any obvious access points for water. Cache reset and ready for the next finder.
Cache checked and in place and surprisingly dry given the torrential rain we have had lately! The camo has taken a beating though and we will upgrade it soon. To us it sticks out so much as the colour doesnt quite match
No luck today. The rain started coming down hard and we had to abort after 15 mins. Will be back in better weather.
Very nice camo and container. Took me a while wandering around the area before I spotted something a bit different from the surroundings. Had to be standing within a meter or so of the cache before it looked suspicious. There were some people in the caravan park across the creek who must have wondered what I was doing!
We searched for a long time before deciding to PAF. They confirmed what we thought we were looking for, and even with their knoweledge we still couldn't find anything.
Cache checked - all good. Wow we can't believe how much the undergrowth has grown since we placed the cache. The current cache camo (placed in 2017) sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the original lol
Found on a warm Sunday afternoon this one took a little bit of searching. GPS had me about 4m off. Picked up a trackable kids were thrilled.
A huge search despite having found it previously. It is quite overgrown. Dropped a TB. For other searchers, it is something that looks natural but is man-made.
After arriving at GZ the GPSr devices took a while to settle. We checked a few spots without luck and we needed to check the hint. Even then nothing seemed obvious but then I noticed something that didn't quite fit in and we soon had the container. A nice hide. Thanks to GJMMelb for the cache.
I have to say this took me a little while to find with the GPS bouncing around. Finally spotted something out of place and a lovely crafted container was found. All is well here even after the recent floods.
Didnt find this one
Spent about half hour looking, then nature was calling, so had to go.
Will be back one day to convert to a smiley!

TFTC, have to say this was a tricky one. Thankfully hubby was persistent and kept looking.
Restricted to our lga we set off to find one of the remaining caches we haven’t found near home. We had to find a cache today, being world caching day. Arrived at GZ and nothing jumped out-hmm. It’s gotta be somewhere and then it felt like we were in Qld
We also added a ‘drop bear’ TB for the next willing victim.

I had come to the area in order to try and find a mystery cache for my mystery month challenge, when I saw I probably had time to grab one more cache before it got to dark.
This area is so gorgeous and I enjoyed my walk over from the mystery cache.
After spending a good amount of time looking for the cache I resulted to check the hint, and then I thought to myself I needed a hint for the hint lol.
After checking ROT13 and a few other cipher checkers with no luck i went back to my search, again with no luck.
Finally I rechecked the hint and it finally clicked and the a ha moment came.
Now that I knew somewhat I was looking for my search was a bit more targeted and finally found some out of place.
What amazing camo, absolutely loved it and this hide and it earns a favourite point from me!
The camo was in good shape and looked great. The logbook was slightly moist and the cover had fallen off and some of the pages are falling apart, but it still was functional. Log signed. TFTC

The gps was all over the place. I did not expect to find the cache as quickly as I did, but I just looked in the right spot and something stood out as being different from its surrounds. Excellent camo here.

Find #11663
Last one for the day, i do recall looking for this one some time ago, just after I started caching but no find.
Today I walked straight up to it. All was in good order here.
Thanks to GJMMelb for the cache.
Big things are continuing to happen! *Are you joining the fun again in 2022?*

Finally able to get out and find a cache or two.
Finally!!! Returned once again, and with a previous finder with me, managed to get my name in the logbook. Frown now upside down!
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, GJMMelb

I had found this one a number of years ago but it was before I really did much caching. Pleased to be back here today and make the find again. Definitely didn't hurt that I knew what I was looking for. Thanks for a great cache and bringing us here. There is still a barking dog.
Went down and checked cache - all in place and good to find.
The area is quite green and undergrowth quite thick, which makes the camo a bit hard to pick.

Had a good look around as the area was nicely sheltered from the path, but was unfortunately not able to find it.
this seemed a tasty-looking diversion off the main path
so slid between the passers-by and bushes to get into the general vicinity of the treasure
that’s where things started to go downhill: spent a longer-than-i-should-have time circling around and poking things and grumbling and having a distinct lack of success
eventually had the eureka moment of discovery and could complete the paperwork
the hamfish moniker is a portmanteau of two last names
though it was appropriate for a good while, those two last names are no longer attacked to two people attached via a relationship
despite that, I have grown attached to the name hamfish and when something becomes so embedded it is hard to excise
so the name lives on

Actually quicker than I expected - Having come to this lovely bush land area to pick up a mystery cache I took the opportunity to find 9 other caches in the area - some easy, others challenging- but I did not have a DNF today which is rare -although this one I nearly walked away ... once I was on the right level and the caching eyes were working it was spotted and the Ahah moment arrived.
Glad to make the link with pprass - whom I admire.
My brother Starruby had been caching for a while and I liked orienteering- a few years ago I got hooked as he became less active. Because of my initials JP - and my fascination of looking at Jupiter , the planet in my telescope- Starruby > became Jupiterpearl - by natural progression - after all he is my older brother. This was my 7th for the day.
Thanks GJMMelb (family) for the cache.

Round and round we went. Ready to give up when Coatsyjnr let out an excited cry. Thanks!
Was staying in the adjacent tourist Park. Was a nice evening find, first in a few years. Good to be back caching. TFTC
Something caught my eye and then I spotted it. Backpaqer was created as a corruption of "backpacker" and the fact I started geocaching with a compaq ipaq.
I don't mind saying this one took me a fair while. Around and around I went, mainly looking at a level that turned out not to be the right one. I covered quite a lot of ground, partly because of the past logs indicating GZ might be a fair way from what the GPS indicated (as it turned out, it was pretty accurate). On the way I found some very nice spiders.
Eventually, I happened to look in just the right place. Yes, this is very obvious when you see it - but seeing it isn't that easy. Very nicely executed and deserving of a favourite point. TFTC

Just found a link to this cache on a facebook page. Thought I'd write a note as it will be quite a while before I can visit in person as I live interstate.
I've also wondered about peoples caching names too as I see some pretty curious ones when noodling through caches.
My caching name isn't anything too exciting, just an anagram of 'geocache' because I couldn't think of anything else when signing up. Added the 1 afterwards because someone else had registered it first.
What a great idea for a cache subject! Thanks for putting it out there.

Sadly, here we go again. Stay safe and healthy everyone. Hopefully see you in 6 weeks
The GPS refused to settle and we traipsed around backwards and forwards looking for something NQR. So true that when you see it it does stand out. Took about half an hour with the geokids to locate. A terrific camo job for sure. Thanks GJMMelb for Mullum .... Over Your Name. Our caching name is just a combination of mine and hubby's name. He has been on a few caching expeditions but isn't too keen unfortunately. Luckily the kids and I love it!
This was an awesome hidden cache! So cool and super smart! Loved this one! TFTC ️
May we suggest that you please use hand sanitiser before and after finding this cache - thanks This cache is being re-enabled with the hope that Community spread of Covid19 remains extremely low. We will visit each cache in the coming weeks to make sure it is still there and in good condition.
Yes this does stick out when you start looking a little more closely. Great cache hide well done. Dropped off a Raph TMNT trackable for the cache! TFTC
Names are interesting and good to hear your story. My name was always a pain to spell to people growing up and I could never find personalised toys books etc however it’s good as there are not many of me. Good cache. Nice camo

After a most enjoyable meal in the local tavern, we had time to try and put a sprinkling of smiley tokens on our Crystal Brook map.
A short walk from where we were staying, we didn't see any sore thumbs, but we did find a very cleverly disguised cache. A FP from us tonight.
Our thanks to 'GJMMelb' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.

How funny... At the time this email was sent we were working on the cache. Just waiting for it to dry and it will be back in place in the next day or so
One of those occasions where the GPSr refused to settle. Pretty sure I know what I’m looking for. However, despite a thorough search, no luck here today. I’ll be back.
Ok - I’m clearly out of practice but 30 minutes traipsing through this nice little oasis and no luck. Will return.
Hi there GJMMelb. Today started in Geelong headed towards here. This cache was found after a short search today after booking into the caravan park across the creek. A {FavPt} from us for your efforts in concealing this cache - excellent work (but not so good that we couldn't find it ). The container and log are in good condition - SL. Thanks to GJMMelb for this cache - our find #6421.
Just passing through, thought I’d drop in.

Tftc and a brilliant hide.
Circumstances conspired to bring us here today.
With the current souvenir promotion seemingly targeting highly favorite hides.
Not many of those left closer to home.
In need of some light exercise following the recent "adventure" and a free afternoon.
A lovely note from the CO last night on ig, it was a no-brainer.
A GJMMelb cache definitely needed to be found today.
With +Wife at the wheel we stopped for another cache on the way here but after finding this one, the day was done. I just wanted to go home and put my feet up.
Anything else would have met with severe disappointment.
We also noticed the emergency marker tape, although our path in actually had us on the other side.
A quick scout of the area turned up nothing of interest, so I moved to the far side of the tape and spotted something NQR. This would most likely have been easier if we had taken the time to read the hint, but the joy of the find was increased by finding it with no help whatsoever.

*Back near the turn of this century I was a driver for "No Worries Transport".
Try as I might, I could not seem to properly explain the local connotations of this phrase to the owner of said company.
Izzy (John) was a lovely bloke and I really enjoyed my time working mostly amongst the Jewish community of North Caulfied, Balaclava and East St Kilda.
As time passed, John had a stroke and the company closed down.
I had already moved on but had we remained close friends.
In 2012 I opened my geocaching account, although my first find wasn't until April '13.
I chose NoWorries as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to John and the obvious local use of the term.
Christine opened an account a short while later although we had originally just shared the one.
She wanted "and wife" or "&Wife" but they were already taken so settled for +Wife.*

Second find of the day. Great camouflage job.
Cache in good order. [^]

Awesome camo. It may stand out to the CO, but when you don't know what you're looking for it's brilliantly camouflaged. Well done. A favourite point from me
Checked on cache which is quietly waiting in place. The current camo really stands out to us, the original was much harder lol
Checked Co-ords, we had 1 metre with gps right over the top

Very tricky. Must be well hidden we searched for an hour and couldn’t find unfortunately
I was so glad so that I eventually found this one after about half an hour search. Camo is fantastic. Definitely a favourite! Thanks GJMMelb!
This was my last find of the day and what a great find it was. I wandered along and took the scenic route to GZ (i.e. slightly overshot it and walked back to it using the river as a guide). That was when the fun began. I checked lots and lots of spots, some repeatedly given my ability to miss the obvious... and not so obvious. My GPS was spinning a little bit and I was searching in what felt like a rather wide area. With the number of favourites this has, I started to think a bit more about the potential camouflage given the GZ area, and it was then I noticed something. That led to noticing something else and there it was. A FP duly awarded.
In relation to my caching name it's a rather boring story. I remember my partner telling me about this app some friends had been using in the UK, and that "I think you would really enjoy it". I looked it up and saw I needed a name to sign up. It had been described to me as a large treasure hunt, hence the lost and found. I then had no idea what to do (no GPS, and no smartphone), so lost interest. About a year later a chance discussion at a birthday gathering at Arthur's Seat ended up with three of us looking for a cache (with two of us having no idea what we were doing and what we were looking for). It took about 20 minutes, by which time the birthday girl was getting annoyed with us. She wandered over herself and did the "It's here. Let's go!" So we did. I was shown how to log the find, which was admittedly pathetic, and I was hooked. It took a while though to figure caching out, and many an hour was spent reading logs of "Easy find" when I couldn't find anything. After a few false starts I was given a GPS for Christmas and I haven't looked back.

My second visit here. glad to get it this time, what great camouflage thank you so much
I can't get out much these days. When I do I try to find highly appreciated caches (see my PremiumAppreciation GSAK macro). I really enjoyed this cache and certainly add my fave point. T4TC GJMMelb! BTW my company name in the interactive media space was Clickcraft P/L which made me the Clickcraftsman.
Arrived at GZ to find that an area close by was taped off with emergency tape, but no signs to say do not enter, so made the find and signed the log.
Trialing Premium and have a bunch of favourite points to give out retrospectively!

Tough search in fading light, bicycles needed to be ridden back to home destination. I wonder where the cache is.
Last of 5 pre-dawn caches on a beautiful Queen’s Birthday Monday morning.
It’s a sweet thing when a blue sad face turns to a yellow smiley! Third time was indeed a charm, but this was definitely the trickiest hide I’ve found so far. The very clever and unique cammo conspired with the very high noise-to-signal ratio of the surroundings to create a perfect storm of deception!
As ever, the COs couldn’t have been more helpful and for me this was a definite GAFF5 find, and even then I was still hopeful the CO might just turn up and point at the cache with a stick
I was happy also to be able to use my new stamp for the first time. Left a smiley badge to commemorate this much anticipated find. If I could give favourite points this would definitely get one (although, in a couple of weeks I think this dream might just come true)
As for my caching name: TFTC see DNF!

Another early morning visit, another miss! However, geodog was happy to find his wallaby bones were still there
Tree cover and clouds again conspired to make getting clear coordinates quite tricky.
Another time.

While on the path approaching the cache two pedestrians approached from the opposite direction. I walked past them and circled back to GZ, only to find the same people near the GZ. They were the CO, GJMMelb inspecting the site.
It was very nice to meet you.
Thanks for the two TBs.
Thanks for all your caches that are keeping me busy.

I’ve developed a style of caching recently I call “pre-dawn prowling” where I head off with the geodog on a Saturday morning while the rest of the house still sleeps. It’s fun, because the first cache runs like a night cache, but then it gets light!
This was the last of four on a beautiful Autumn morning.
I’d had a first look for this one before visiting the Doctor up the road. Once there I noted the reference to “Unexpected” so returned to try a different altitude. Still no joy unfortunately.
I’d been anticipating my log for this cache, and so rather than a simple DNF (my second for the morning) there seemed something poetic about posting my longest DNF account ever in which I also explain my 2240 days without a find. Two big milestones in the same post
It was when browsing the GJMMelb catalogue that I realised this highly favourited cache lay within my strike zone. It was fun reading the origins of names and the hide sounded like it could be something special too.
I’ve ridden through this area a number of times. We also had a great overnight urban getaway once staying in a cabin at the camping ground - a lovely spot.
On first arrival at GZ I could see a web of geotrails! Geodog and I hunted all over. He was more successful than I - some wallaby rib bones were found and joyously rolled in! We moved onto the Doctor, and then returned for one more try. Again, nothing obvious stood out (but why would it - it’s an artful GJMMelb cache after all!). The geodog was overjoyed to be reunited with his wallaby, and even managed a sneaky munch on some bones!
I hope to return at some point to eventually log the find (I like the thought of being able to post “TFTC see DNF”!!)
As for my caching name...well, I’m a secondary school teacher and before that I was a scientist. As a result, most students call me Doctor. However my poor Year 7s often get a bit tangled and then correct themselves to end up with Mister Doctor, which I think is pretty cute!
One Christmas holidays in 2010, I borrowed a GPSr unit from school to try out geocaching, and so Mister Doctor became my caching name. I found around 2 dozen caches back then, and didn’t find another one until 2017 when I got a smart phone - this accounts for my impressive streak of 2240 consecutive days without a find!
My name choice turned out to be a bit of a fluke, as I later realised it could contract to MRDR on nano logs - some cachers even use MD when logging my caches. Carrying on the theme, we are also thedoctorswife and son_of_a_doctor (my youngest daughter, go figure!)

Catching up with my logging
Found with my dad (Flookfinders). For a full log please see his log.

Find #1554
On holiday with the family (Barking Bron & Super O) doing a tour from Sydney along the coast to Melbourne and on to Adelaide.
We are staying at the campsite close by so had to come and grab this one. It took a bit of searching but we eventually spotted this one.

Cache replaced correctly. Please be careful to replace cache is it is meant to be.
Although Pocket Weather on my 'droid stated that there was 0% chance of rain at roughly 3.30pm today my experience was to the contrary. I had prepared myself by taking along an umbrella but it was really a little less than useful in the vegetation (you'd think I'd know that by now) but it was far better than wearing a rain jacket which had no breathability in this weather.
So having checked the usual spots and applying KISS and thus avoiding where my 'droid was pointing I had a bit of a scan around. Luckily I was wearing my polarised sunglasses which highlighted a little something in the vegetation.
Unfortunately it seems as if muggles either in the form of workmen or teenagers had found the cache because it was lying semi-horizontal. I had a bit of a fossick for the actual container and found it lying less than 4m away. I tried to unite the camo and cache in some secure form but I couldn't quite see how to do so. Instead I righted the camo and hope those those following will spot the container as well.
As for the caching name - a quote from Wash in Serenity less than 30 seconds before he dies. Classic Joss Whedon humour.

This one eluded us today. Two sets of eyes spent a good 30mins but couldn't turn anything up. Will return another day.
We were staying at the nearby caravan park. This cache was only just over the creek and a friend of ours had only found it the previous day.
Mrs A and self ventured forth today where upon Mrs A, after spending only a few minutes looking, managed to spot the cleverly camoed hide. We admired the construction as we signed the log. Visited a TB. TFTC GJMMelb. F.P.

After a chilly day doing some business not far away, we decided to polish this one off.
Aries44 and I took a stroll on the trail near where we were staying with a view to locating this cache. After a short time, while A44 gazed about, I said "is this what you are looking for?". Found !. We did the signing and admired the construction. TFTC GJMMelb.
