Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Making our way from Broken Hill and Mundi Mundi Bash towards Perth ever so slowly. We stopped in Yunta last night so this morning we unhitched and headed up the nice new road to your cache.Great cache but unfortunately it's not functioning how its meant to. Cache was exposed on our arrival we have attempted to put it back the way it's intended but could use some TLC. Fave point added.TFTC Funky G.O. and GeoWazza
Oh you tricky trickster such a clever hide a definite favourite for us, we are on our travels and are so glad to have grabbed this cache, thank you for taking the time to skilfully craft and place it
This is a great cache and a lot of thought must have gone
into it's placement. Brilliant. A Fave point from us to add
to all the others.
Thanks heaps Funky G.O. and GeoWazza.

Seeing this has 27 favs, thought we best detoured from highway... we found a mint tin, so couldnt understand all the favs!
Reading cache page, hint, and logs, it's obviously a throwdown! I didn't to think to look for a better hide. Sad!

Found with Coybear2000. We made the detour to this one. On our way to GZ we met an on-coming road-train spewing forth dust - so much that we had to stop and wait for it to settle so that we could see the road. We parked in the side street and C had CIH while I waited for my unit to settle. Log signed and all replaced and we headed back to the highway, passing the road train, which had to stop in a lay-by near the town so that its dust settled. TFTC.
Travelling a bit further after doing a nearby cache. Passed a road train and had to stop till we were able to see through the dust and continued to GZ. Quick find. Log signed and returned. TFTC
Well worth the detour to come out here to find this one. Love the work that went into this one. Have a bonus point.
Nice to have a break while driving to Broken Hill for Easter.

Cruizin' throughon this beautiful hot and dusty afternoon we thought that we'd stopand have a look here as the description looked a bit more than the usual plastic container under a rock or mint tin stuck to some arnco railing with a magnet. I do love a bit of effort with caches placed like this, so have left a pathtag and given the cache a favourite. Well done CO and thanks.
Took a detour off the main road with Purrfect Di.
By now it was raining convincingly, and the nice wide road was getting a bit slushy under us... a few days of this could change things a lot! There are signs of caching everywhere - and this was a good one! Neat way to hide the cache, and you could fit something bigger in there too!!! Fav for the construct.
Thank you Funky G.O. for placing and maintaining this cache on our ever growing Aussie geo-map

Driving and hiking around wherever we can - searching, spotting hidden items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guess or plain old dumb luck
Plenty of the luck stuff actually !!!
*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*

Warning ! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, floodwaters, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Great of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Really appreciate you reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!
C'est Fini.

I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February.
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat.
But with restrictions easing and socially responsible caching again possible it is time to start filling the calendars again.
Seven cachers set off in Four 4WD vehicles using satellites to search for caches in and around Arkaroola and the Gammon Ranges. [^] The Six day Arkaroola Odyssey had begun.
Day 6: A few last caches and head for home.
The cache could only be in one spot..but how to access. [?] A feel about and the cache was soon in hand.
A fantastic cache in the middle of nowhere. Thanks to the CO for taking the time on this one and another well deserved FP from me.

Found during our return back to Adelaide via Yunta from a caching trip to Arkaroola and the Vulkathunna-Gammon Ranges National Park in the northern Flinders Ranges for the week. Really enjoyed the spectacular landscapes, the 4WD tracks, and the walking and rock-climbing in the quest for some challenging caches in a remote region of the State. Thanks for the cache Funky G.O. and Geowazza!

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
Today, we travelled from Yunta to Waukaringa Ruins where we spent the night.
We found this cache on the ground, but knew where to return it to. Great hide, even though your container had jumped out. Fave point awarded. Thanks Funky G.O & GeoWazza

Brilliant just brilliant! Thank you for your effort - worth way more than 1000 boxes under a bush! Fav point for sure.
Today we headed off on a long drive to Broken Hill. We took things at a leisurely pace and stopped off to pick up unfound caches along the way. We only found 12 for the day but we had a great drive although neither of us have ever seen as many dead kangaroos as we did along the way today in the Mid North. They need rain just as much as we do.
Not sure geohusband was that keen to drive along this road but persuaded him anyway as thought it must be a good cache with all the FP. Took a while to locate but got it in the end.
The geohound came out of the tunnel under the road with a lot of extra orange dust on him he loved it here. the signs here have seen better days. TFTC it was a fun one to find in the middle of BFN.

Visiting Yunta for the local rifle club's 2-day competition, so out to search for the local caches. The road out is a bit rough but reasonable. Searched around the spot for a bit but then my helper noticed something different and there it was. A really excellent hide

Good hide spot (like that) anyway it was wet log and etc. so I change and refresh new big bison with log sheet. Thanks Funky G.O. please see pic (almost spoilt area)

Found on our way home from Red Centre Experience in Alice Springs Found on the 24th. Bit of a story about this one. Its been raining for a few days. The roads are wet, muddy and slippery. We turn north to head to this one before doing to Yunta airport cache, to be confronted by a Road Closed sign.
The Garmin insists I head up the road a couple of hundred metres before heading back to GZ for the airport, so we do this. We make that find, and find the shorter way back out, which takes up back to the road conditions sign. I glance right, and notice that in the last 5 minutes the Road Closed has changed to Open to Heavy Vehicles and 4wds. So off we go. Easy find in the end. Retrieved an older obsolete logbook and baggie that was shoved right up inside the container.
Cheers

After staying at the Yunta Hotel last night , Dad and I were on an outback adventure to Rawnsley Park via Chambers Gorge .
Had to stop and do this one on the way through. Quickly spotted it but getting it open was a bit more tricky.
A fantastic cache - loved it, a definite favourite for me [^].
Well done, Funky G.O. and GeoWazza, have enjoyed all your caches in the area - thanks

We are heading across to the Flinders Ranges on a 2 week sojourn. We don't intend to do a lot of caching but will try and pick up a few along the way.
After 3 nights at Arkoola we are now headed to Broken Hill via 250kms of dirt road and very few caches (or anything else really.) Only the second we have come across today - and it is a beauty. Hope you got to repeat it elsewhere.

Wow!! What a great cache. My brother had told us about the Waukaringa ruins nearby so we decided to go and have a squizzy. On the way of course we had to stop and grab a couple of caches and this is the first one we found....and what a beauty!!
We haven't seen anythng like this before so were absolutely delighted at the work that has gone into constructing it.
So many thanks Funky G.O. For adding to our caching pleasure....another favourite point coming your way[^][^][^]

We looked and looked for this one; and found the ring and pulled and pulled. Even got the ladder out and pulled and pulled again, without success. Perhaps we should have spent more time figuring it out, but 5 cars passed us while we were at it, and as we couldn't see the prize we gave it up as a bad loss, assuming it was lost. As we were out of signal range no hints were to be found, and not until our camp 40ks north of Yunta that after checking GSAK more information was found. Maybe another day (hopefully).!We looked and looked for this one; and found the ring and pulled and pulled. Even got the ladder out and pulled and pulled again, without success. Yep. A fav point from me. Log was pretty wet after the recent rain. Put in a new sheet in a small plastic bag. A nice stop on the way home from a working bee in the Flinders Ranges. Being a Saturday, the truck traffic was sparse. Thanks Funky G.O.

We found this one during a week long visit to the nearby Sheep Station East Whydown! Bon and Ben as well as geobuddies Richard and Stew enjoyed finding this cache! It was a lot more difficult than it should have been as the cache had caught in an unforgiving position, but we soon fixed the problem, only after a ferocious scramble to hide in our 2 door rav4 to avoid the dust storm kicked up by a passing road train! Very clever and definitely worth the drive! TFTC
A very clever cache. TFTC. Took Carrieton eartag, left Rock 4x4 eartags.
Had to do a bit of maintenance on the cache with string to replace broken ties.... You may like to check its ok. Great cache (fab point) left geocoin Found on 3/5/13 but logged on return & mending on 4/5/13. TFTC

Found on the 2012 Tour de Eclipse. Lots and lots of flies. Clever cache. Cache found in the last place we looked. I left my swaps in the Pahero and I did not have anything of equal value in my pockets.
Found on the great Eclipse Trip of 2012 with Freddo. We were both amazed and this hides sheer brilliance! Awesome.

Found today by Mr & Mrs 1SR on our 15th wedding anniversary at 1025 on our way to Arkaroola. Great hide, fantastic effort. Spotted fairly quickly but getting at the log took a bit longer. Finely found something and it moved and all of a sudden the log was out. Loved the effort out here, not where I would expect to find such effort. A favorite for us.

Working out near the Barrier highway the last few weeks, detoured to locate the two caches within the 30 km's, found the furtherest one but this one was muggle central with roadworkers all around the GZ. Not so today all quiet allowing for a stress free search, found a plastic bag and thought the cache had been muggled but this proved to be a red herring a rather more ingenius hide was discovered once the trick was found to release it. Best construction we have seen for some time, a fav point from us TNLN TFTC

Travelling to Flinders Ranges today on trip to Simpson Desert. Located and assisted by our muggle company who was chuffed with himself.
Braved the bitingly cold wind to find this clever, inspiring cache. By far the most ingenious cache we've seen so far on our 'Big Island' tour. Thanks, it's always good to see something different.
Peter found on his 12th Australian Trip. Thx for the cache.

That’s ingenious . I wish now that I’d looked at it a bit more to determine the mechanism. Yes, it probably is a bit wasted out here, but a great effort, nonetheless. One of the best I have seen in a long time. Gets a ‘fav’ tick from me . Cheers .
A great first cache to set out on a dirt bike holiday through central Oz. Used Yunta as a meeting point before heading north. Cold night camping nearby. TFTC Funky G.O. I hope to get your other caches next time through this area.
What a little corker! We were there at 'spek O' clock',the setting sun below heavy cloud drenched the landscape in a wild yellow light, with a whistling cold wind. Keep this interesting hide for the outback.
This is probably one of the best caches that I have ever found. I though this cache was brilliant and deserves a favourite point. Thanks for another really cool cache.
EsromL and I thought that this was a fantastic piece of engineering - as good or better than any other hide I've seen. We found it quickly, but it took us a little longer to get access. This ingenuity is not wasted here (view it as a 'pilot'), but something similar close to Adelaide is likely to be a real hit. Very well done Funky G.O., we enjoyed all of your Yunta caches - and yet another favorite point from me for this one.
One of my favourite caches of our trip up this way.
Very clever hide.
The outer bag was torn in places so I rebagged everything inside a new bag to ensure it lasts through winter.

Wow, that's a Funky one! You'll get a favorite for innovation, G.O. mate! Savoy Truffle really deserves the bronze - as we searched together, I was still getting out of our Blue Desert Drive (TB3ZQ7E) while he was working already on Ground Zero - suddenly an unexpected move and look - and we could not trust our eyes! Had a good laugh altogether. Well Done!
The Arkaroo always passed north the same way - thanks for the hint, I must take the side road one day to go to Olary Hotel!
At least, we were impressed and had to talk about the great Yunta caches for a while driving further north to Arkaroola... Can't wait to get there and join the barbie! - Or, indeed, our adventure started probably right here - just read on our subsequential cache logs this day if you are curious ...
