Logs
Walked in the upper reaches of Cleland early this morning to find a few caches near the Crafers area - this part of the park is lovely - tall trees and cooler due to the elevation.
Noted the DNFs on this cache for WP1 but thought I'd head to the area for a good look - spent about 20mins searching around many nooks & crannies but came up blank. Phoned the CO and asked permission to put in a new container for WP1 - permission granted - new container is a thin plastic tube. Lovely waterfall area which would be stunning after heavy rain.
Made my way to the final GZ, where the whole area had been a prescribed burn area. I found the cache under a large rock, however the 200ml Systema container was melted and had a hole in it. I couldnt retrieve the log book out of it without breaking the melted Systema in half, which would have then let water into the cache and unfortunately I didnt have a big enough spare on me - so chose to take a photo of the cache. Great views from this spot out to the sea. Fav for the walk and taking me to this lovely area of Cleland

Tonight after helping Knightyme with some geocache maintenance, I decided to head up to Cleland Conservation Park and park on the old freeway just past Eagle on the Hill. There was a cluster of geocaches here that I was left to find, and quite conveniently, they were all of different cache types to help fill my calendar day for today. It was a nice balmy evening that I enjoyed doing a solo trail run using geocaches as various waypoints/objectives, but as I was returning back to my car, some heavy drops fell from the sky (perhaps it was a nice cooldown).
Waypoint 1 was a tough one for me tonight, and despite my 20-30 min of searching, I had to resort to a PAF to the CO to continue my journey to Endor. I had some bouncing coordinates as I was darting between trees and scanning the little hollows and nooks of those, across to the rocky ledges of the dry waterfall today. I continued ascending and descending making little loops. Perhaps the small container is still here, but perhaps from when it was last found four months ago, it wandered into the opening, and made its way downhill?!
If I thought that was tough going, getting up to GZ was quite tough in itself! Some steep terrain, bush bashing whilst trying to follow kangaroo tracks, and eventually got to GZ, but under rocks, no cache. There appeared to be a great cache location at the big tree up, but despite searching that area, and the distance being 15-20 m, no cache was found there either. I continued to then make loops whilst searching under the medium density of the bushes around the place. Eventually from above, my eye caught something, and upon further investigation, it was the cache. Wow, that seemed to be a tough hide. Perhaps now knowing what the final looked like, I would have a better chance at Waypoint 1's container now? I might try to head back there whilst finding another cache around that area another time. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks TCandD for placing the cache, and Brad&Janet for taking this one over and maintaining. At least there were some good views from GZ, as others have stated.

The previous CO thinks it is still there and there is a recent find. So we are re-enabling it but we will also check on it soon.
A return to the hills to find some more of this series.
Thanks TCandD for the cache.

It is time to go back and actually log on line those caches that we have found but for which we have only submitted draft logs. As our drafts have hit well over 200 we need to work through them and we haved decided to bit the bullet..
While sadly we may no longer remember the specifics of each event we attended we are pretty sure we met and spoke with the usual subjects, and drank coffee, and chatted about geocaching and other stuff. We also quite possibly shared some hints about one or more of our own puzzles as we do get asked about these from time to time
As far as caches are concerned we remember the puzzles, although some are harder than this one was [;] and mostly the hides.
As far as trads and multis are concerned we most often pick these up while traveling or at least while we are out and about for other reasons. As was the case here

Out on a walk with BokBok9. What a great little adventure. A bit of a search for the first cache (which needs the container replaced) but we found it. Then a nice walk with a few other finds on the way including a previous dnf and we were on our way to the final. A scratched forehead on the way but a quick find at final location.

Quite an adventure to find both parts of this cache! Great view from the final GZ. Marvin located the first part after a short search. A lovely walk and a climb with a few scratches and face grazes (martian haha) and i stepped on it! Hooray!
Walking around mt lofty completing the new AR in the area. Made the quick detour for this one TFTC
What a great way to spend Xmas eve, riding the tracks of Cleland with Pony1966. Bit of a scramble at WP1, even bigger scramble at GZ, could be half point (full point?) higher rating for terrain. TFTC
Found on a great Christmas Eve out on the bikes with Wal & Ol. Quite a challenging adventure. TFTC!
The waterfall was not falling today
And after a bit of scrambling around,
I finally found the first waypoint
Oooh !!
A bit of a stroll was in order
Not to worry,
I was going that way anyway,
sort of !!
And a few cache finds later,
wandered back along a pre-wandered trail,
to find the cache

Its been 2 years and one month since I visited stage 1 and got the coords for the final. On that day, I was going in the other direction and simply ran out of time to back track and grab the cache. Stage 1 was a tricky find in itself.
Glad to head out today and clear up some caches from the southern end of Cleland.
For this one, the final 30m scramble from the track was no easy hike. But thankfully the coords were just about spot on. Thanks! There were numerous rocky hides and I could have spent a long time searching up here.
Attached is a photo I took the day I found stage 1.

found this with a group of cachers while doing the harry potter trail. The co ords where spot on plus a nice view from up there. took tb.
WP1 was very easy to find as it was sitting out in the open! Replaced in its proper location. Then a walk and scrabble to the final gz. Nice views and lots of fun! TFTC TCandD!
This was to be our last day in SA and we decided to head to this area to grab the caches before heading home to Perth .
I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here . I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area . We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome
A massive thanks here to TCandD for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!
jinta29 found your cache Endor today. This is my find #8186 and find #8 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again TCandD for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!

We got the coordinates from the first container after a bit of a search and then realised we had nearly walked right past the final. So we headed back along and then scrambled our way to GZ before a quick find by jinta29.
jinta29 and I have been in town for the past week and before I drop him at the airport around midday, we decided to complete a walk through the Cleland Conservation Park.

Third time lucky.
Having attacked this from lower down near cp1 last time,
we had the coordinates, but didn't find the cache before.
Purrfect Di, and Jack, and I had a challenge.
Being at caches of higher altitude, decided to approach from above !
Although steep in places, this worked and a cache was soon in hand.

We were on a 6km loop walk through Cleland today, and the day was starting to heat up quite a bit. We'd found a few caches, and decided we'd just grab the info at the start to complete this one another day.
Just as well I had a look at the past logs first up, as I'd forgotten that we actually had the end location in the GPSr, not the start!
We were walking right by, so I made the climb up to GZ and had a nice quick find on the small cache container. The views were nice from the final location, but I did't spend too long there. We wanted to get back to the car before the mercury reached the high thirties.
Thanks TCandD.

We found the container with the final location today, but as we were not heading that far today, decided to leave the final find for another day.
I found the first container lying in the open, and was surprised it hadn't been washed or blown away completely. I tucked it into a little hidey-hole that fits with the hint, and placed a couple of rocks on it to try and stop it getting dislodged again.

What a toughy finding this was [:o] and what a place the Forest Moon of Endor is ... a bit like Cleland ha ha I returned to this one since last week 29 Oct and logging a DNF. Today I was on my way to Mt. Lofty so I ducked into Cleland Conservation Park to have another crack at the final of this Multi, which I wanted to find so bad [B)]. 15 minutes of scrutinizing areas looking for a small cache with a bouncing GPS in this environment was a real challenge, but the challenge ended in a Smiley I held the cache to the sky and fist-pumped [:o)] SL at 09:18 on Sun 6 Nov 2016. A Very tricky hide indeed. Cache and contents are all good and dry [^] Jumped back on my "Speeder-Bike" and left TNLN TFTC TCand D
Found the Listed co-ords easy enough even though it was a tricky one, but with the 2nd cache, i was all over the shop due to GPS saying I was here then there, above it, below it aaaaargh! I think I may need to widen the search a bit more by going further up when I return for this one sometime soon. I did however collect some Geo-Scars looking for it [B)] TFTH and the Challenge TCandD
Couldn't find this today. Looked for about 15 minutes and then got distracted by the ripe blackberries. Mmmm.
This is one of our favourite places to come for a hike.... and is even more enjoyable with all the caches we have to find :c) This was an enjoyable little multi, with great co-ordinates. TFTC!!
Had the waypoint coordinates for awhile so set off on the trail, taking the shortest route. A little bush bashing off the path and found with no difficulty. TFTC. Cheers
Took a little while to find both the hides due to the terrain. Mrs TiedyeSmileys had walked up the track at WP1 so ended up sitting up on top of the falls calling out (useless) instructions to Mr TiedyeSmileys.
The final was quite funny in that we had predicted that there would have to be a cache around there and had made an (unsuccessful ) search on our way past.
With corrected coords in our hands (and amazingly enough on our way back to the geomobile). At the final, we did a LOT of bush bashing a bit further up from were we had carried out our guess search earlier, following the gpsr around as the signal varied. After finding the cache, we realised that we probably wouldn't have found it anyway on a guess as we were really only checking trees.

I am still in the area after the SA MEGA and there are a few more caches to find.
I have headed towards Adelaide today to catch up with a friend.
A big thank you to all of the cachers that have been involved with the MEGA.

What a scramble to both parts of the cache, I was quite relieved there weren't more wp's to find! Not sure what conditions are like on Endor, but it's hot and sunny today
Out and about walking in Mt Lofty on a mild summer eve.
It surely is a wonderful place to walk.
My that last approach to this one is fun.
Had a feeling it would be there and it was.
Made a mark and then headed back to the car.

I was looking around and yet could not find the Ewoks - don't they live on Endor? Isn't it in this forrest that Luke Skywalker and the resistance finally defeat Darth Vader and destroy the deathstar?
Alright so yes a little too much knowledge of Star Wars in my family, but hey when living in a house of all boys, if you cant beat them join them!

Today we are expecting quite a lot of geocachers up here to celebrate Freddos 366 Days of Geocache Hiding cache release, we arrived nice and early in the afternoon to mark of a few of these caches lurking through this area, the terrain was a bit tough for me as i prefer the flatter style ground lol, upon saying that i really enjoyed the walk through here with geowife and Earthlight, the views from up around here are amazing and since the opening of the new freeway this is my second or third visit to these areas, once a busy road with semis and cars is now a ghost town area with a the occasional car and the pushbikes that enjoy the road that they almost have to themselves, i look forward to returning to pursuit the caches that still lurk through this area. Whilst attending Freddo's wonderful 366 days of Geocaching Event a flash mob headed out for a quick FTF by twenty one. This number dwindled by Koala Trail and then parted for the return journey. The majority took the shorter, steep journey back to the event. Firesafe, Sushilord and myself took the longer, but gentler trek that included another 8 caches. What were the others thinking [?].
Just a mere twenty metres from the track huh. Plus 30 vertical metres. It earned the 3 star terrain and we earned this cache plus an extra star for doing it in the dark! Thanks TCandD

Found WP1 a couple of weeks when we bumped into Lofty Reason. Tucked away in the Forest of Endor, surrounded by bracken fern and Ewoks. Jub jub!! I tucked the numbers away for another day. Today was another day! My shoes have seen this trail way too often...but I'm sure it won't be the last. TFTC TCandD.
Found by youngest geokid. Great views but youngest bitten by a hopper ant! Loved the waterfall (dry) at WP1 where we also bumped into TigerMuffin. TFTC.
Another night-time stroll in a now familiar area. Decided to collect a few extra caches in the 'Owl Mail' series this time on account of the ever-increasing distances from the starting 'point of entry' at the top of the hill. Found 'Endor's WP2 many months ago but it was only tonight that we realised just how close we were, and after an interesting scramble up the slope, finally crossed it off the list! Thanks for the cache TCandD!

Did part 1 a few months back (and that took me a while to find!). Today I was going past GZ so I stopped for an easy find! Great view too!

A nice walk on a beautiful sunny winters morning, and we completed this while placing some other caches in the area. We're surprisingly unfamiliar with the tracks around here, it's a beautiful part of the park for walking, and very Endor-ish!
The final climb to the cache was hot work even on a cold day. Many thanks for the cache.

It was a cooler day than it has been in a while so headed out for a walk and gave some purpose to that walk with a few geocache finds. Really enjoyed the walk along to WP1 on a track we hadn't been on before. Had some trouble finding the right track and if we had turned left near the gate we entered we could have save ourselves some time and effort.
WP1 was more like 4 terrain but Mr S found it. Decided against going further to gz and will return another day. As we were sitting on rocks resting on our way back up two young people passed us. They only had a small amount of water and not the stoutest of shoes and didn't look hot and bothered like us. The car told us it was only 18 degrees so lucky we didn't try this in any warmer weather!

Found while the other half of our team was searching for our first FTF on a GCA cache very close by! TFTC
Rain, Sun, and water under foot with lots of determination we were up for the challange.May have recorded Taylor by mistake with are celebrations? Our third international cache of the day.[
Third cache of the day and thought we'd make a quick run for this once. Two hours later we found it. Approached from Gate 18 in Crafers and trail leading down had turned into a stream. Definitely should have worn Wellies. The 'small waterfall' was a ragging torrent but managed to find WP1 after about 10 minutes. Started off dry and then the rains came, we were soaked but persisted. Scrambled the slopes near GZ for at least half an hour and were about to call it quits when we finally found it. We didn't know what 'Endor' was so I Googled it but put in 'Endora' instead, the mother in law in Bewitched, so I started looking for witch's broom.

The lengths we go to, to find a small container in the middle of the bush! Always a little wary of multis deep in the forests, and this was a good example. After clambering up and down the waterfall, I finally read the log regarding the new coords, which returned me back to a spot I nearly checked out, but it was too far from where I thought I needed to go. Once that sorted I headed off for the final WP, up in the hidden recesses of Cleland. And as I got there, it started to rain - perfect!
All good fun in the end. Should have done this in Spring, but I can always come back can't I?
Thanks for the cache, TCanD.

Nice morning for a walk. Found WP1 straight away. Used Nibs coords and found them spot on. Another pleasant walk to GZ. Luckily took the correct track at the junction and after a bit of a scramble had the cache in hand. TFTC TCandD
The three of us set of on a cool afternoon walk. We understood the name of the cache on the way to WP1, definately looks like it could be Endor. No Ewoks were seen or heard. Found WP1 after a few minutes. Took the correct track to GZ, but that last 30meters was a challenge. Managed to find a difficult way up, and a much easier way back down.
The views up there were really great, and a very enjoyable walk through part of Clealand that we'd never visited before. SL. TFTC.
Day 262 of non-stop caching.

Day 262 of non-stop caching.
Came in from Gate 17 at Crafers and made our way down to WP1, which was found with no problems [8].
Off to GZ, but took the wrong track, so had a longer walk than anticipated (should have read Nibs' log before we left home) [B)].
TN. Left plastic bear. SL.
This was our last cache in Cleland , apart from the Z night cache and any puzzles we haven't been able to solve yet. It's taken us 4 visits to get around to them all, with 10's of km of walking .
Thanks TCandD - we wouldn't have come to this part of the park, if not for caching . . .

Approached WP1 from the south, taking a couple of false trails at first but worked it out in the end. On the way there I was scanning the surroundings for hiding places in case the riders on black steeds were coming. Luckily none arrived. At WP1 I found the container in open ground about to roll into the waterfall. Replaced it to its niche (or what I thought was its niche).
The new co-ords are S 34 deg 59.382, E 138 deg 41.986
i.e. very close to the original.
Then proceeded to the GZ. Easy find there. Took a geocoin and pathtag. TFTC.

With WP1 quickly found and GZ approaching, I was half expecting an ugly admiral to jump out and scream "it's a trap!", but that didn't happen. I also expected to see the command post for the deflection shield, but again was disappointed. After all, this is Endor . I didn't even see any Ewoks - not even the sort that grunt and drop down from the trees as you pass by underneath. A nice walk in a nice area. What more could you ask for on a warm summer's day? Left a GC. TFTC.
This is the epitome of caching for me, but I’m really glad I didn’t do it on a hot (or even warm) day [xx(].
It was a cache that involved a decent walk that required some navigational decisions as to the best path to take. Pleasingly, I found I made all the right choices and don’t think there is any better route to it.
I truly felt like I was walking the Forest moon of Endor. The unseasonable December rains have kept it all lush and green and the cool day was perfect for this hike.
Like others, WP1 had me for a while. I found it only through sheer perseverance, and after checking every possible-looking hidey-hole. When I eventually came across it, I was close to 20m from the original GZ I had. Sat lock in here is very shonky and I suspect that it would be very difficult to get a reading that anyone else would agree with. Having said that, I have posted the reading I took in case it helps anybody else. (at least now you’ve got an option ). It only differs by a small amount, but it might make all the difference when looking for a micro .
Off on the next leg, I was meandering along when I noticed the arrow wanted me to turn sharp left with only about 40m to go. That can’t be right? I must have input the wrong co-ords! Checking … checking…Nope! That’s where it is . Onward and upward… the co-ords to this leg were spot-on and I sat in quiet solitude on a rock and did the log thing. Took nothing, but put one of my pathtags in there.
Thanks for a great cache TcanD .

Descended down past near the towers of the Media Lords and could hear the cargo shuttles passing nearby above in altitude.
The guidance system had me out by 11m but was able to land on rock and not in water. Suitably the next location was not too much of a descent but rather a level flight with some traversing scrubby country at the last.
No natives today could be seen but there were 2 of them in our back garden last night making a lot of noise. I am not sure what was going on but one of them didn't like it.
Cheers from the Posspet Boys

This cache has sat at the top of my unfound list for far to long, so with the mists swirling around me this morning I set off from the summit to rectify that.
Waypoint 1 had me searching for ages and ages! There are so many levels of 'low' around the co-ordinates!!!
Finaly had to give in and call the Astro help line, he pointed me towards the other side of the not flowing but really slippery waterfall and from then on it was easy.
For me WP1 was out by 10m, quite a lot when your looking for a micro in the bush.
Then it was on with my pleasant stroll to GZ and a nice easy find.
Not much chance of the empire muggling this cache [^]
Cheers & thanks for the hunt TCandD
No Ewoks were harmed in this caching adventure, although I did loose some blood on the blackberries

This cache has been sitting on our radar all week. Finally the time was at hand to track it down. As we followed the track through Endor a small furry bear like beast high in a tree called to his friends. Wow this is just like the movie. Would we find some dopey Jedi knights at the cache?
A little bit of water flowed over the waterfall. A splendid spot. We looked at the cave and wondered whether Hans Solo and Princess Leila would have to fight off a few stormtroopers to find the cache.
Luckily the final coords are in a different direction. A lovely trail and lots of views of the Mt Lofty ridges. The cache was found and a virgin log for the frog nation, Freddo, Thomas the Tadpole and James the Newt. Well done. No Sith lords were harmed in the caching of this cache.

The walk was through an absolute sanctuary. Sure, there was even a fluffy bear high in the tree (yes, I know they are not bears) but some weeks before at a Nano event we met the FlauschBaerenBande - now they would have loved these creatures from the planet.
WPT1 was kinda spotted from the 10m away but to be convicted I made a 4 star entrance to the spot. For a minute I felt like I was crawling into the Imperial bunker. I exited 3 stars. The new coords were plugged in and the 2 star march turned in to probably a 3 star final bit. The frog nation were all around me offered protection from the rolling logs, troopers and speed gliders (evidence on the track). No AT-St's today.
A lovely virgin log greeted us. Brilliant stuff.
Clear skies - no Death stars please.
