Ground zone is now a construction zone and a brand new roundabout is beginning to take shape. On the look out for a new location to replace this hide.
We are in Rotorua for a few days staying down the road at a motor camp with dinosaurs every where ! This was a very quick and easy cache to locate, so it was quickly signed and replaced to its hidey hole . All was well with the cache and i took nothing and left nothing here . thank you for this easily aceessible cache . ..... . . . . .. . . .
Quick stop on our way back home from our annual family camp. Had too much fun boating, fishing and catching up that we ended up not caching at all!
I wrote in the log and concealed the cache carefully back as found, TFTCSL. Thanks squirrel nutcase for this Traditional cache!
And helping us get one step closer of our goal of 500 finds!

A new acronym in caching DIDO! All good at GZ. Found with Piwaka54 on our trip to a wedding from Wellington. TFTC
Time to head back to the apartment and have breakfast before getting changed and heading out. Parked real close and soon had the find in hand. After signing in I replaced as per hint. Hope you had as good a weekend caching in my area as I did in yours!
The weather had been predicted to be wet today all through the week but slowly changed as time went by. We'd already agreed it would be an easy day with a stroll around the CBD and shops and lunch out. I took advantage of a predicted dry spell first up before breakfast to whip out and find a few, and a nice first visit to Hannah's Bay, lovely area to take mrs c to in the future.
Having travelled down from Northland, via Auckland, on Thursday we were keen for our 3 day visit to Rotorua and surrounds with some weather challenges possible. Vowing to get the best we can from our visit, we had a great time visiting and grabbed a few caches (more quality than quantity) as well as a bonus FTF on the last morning before heading home. Surprised to beat the locals to the Gold medal on their turf but good to get my tenth regional NZ FTF.
It's time to meet grandchild number 16 and a previously booked break to say hi, or await arrival, is now here. We are off to Northland via an overnight in Auckland, then 2 nights in Ngunguru then a trip down to Rotorua before heading back home next week.
Thanks to all COs for their hides today.

As I approached gz I noticed a lot of road maintenance trucks right where I wanted to be. Far too many muggles I thought. They were about to start working on the road. I nearly kept driving but with TBS on the phone giving me the courage to pull over, I made the quick turn, which turned into a u-turn and a very quick park-up.
Thank goodness it was a quick find as I was being ushered to move on.

Nice quick find here.

Another geocache found, another minor cache surgery. Poor thing had lost its lid! TFTC
We came down to do some caching in Rotorua today and hadn't had heaps of luck up to this point (on our circuit around the lake). So yes, I decided to go for a couple of simple ones so that I had a few numbers for the day! TFTC
As the summer months come to an end, and with daylight savings ending for us real soon, it's time for an extended weekend trip to Rotorua (from Wellington). Lots of activities are on the agenda, and geocaching is one of them. I had several specific caches marked to find on this trip, some to meet specific requirements, some were such fun puzzle solves that I just had to come and sign the log, and are some just because. This cache is one of them.
A quick stop here. Cache container could do with replacement, but log is dry for now
Thanks to squirrel nutcase for placing this cache here.

It was so fun to find and after we found the it the lid was on the ground so we gust poped it back on
Nice to go for a tour round the lake and the was a great park and grab for mr8. TFTC
#10,605. I am staying at my sisters place for a couple of days. After grabbing one or two caches around the town first thing in the morning I decided to head out NE to do some caching. This one has been here a while but it often has a truck parked close so have not stopped on previous drive-bys. Today was the day to correct that. Still a lot of muggles driving past in cars but I just parked and headed to GZ. Wish I had my hi-viz jacket on as it looks far more official. Anyway after a very short check I saw the cache. Signed the logbook and returned everything as found. Thanks squirrel nutcase for hiding it here.
Walked down with my mum for some weekend fun, found it after climbing and falling off the piles of rocks , signed my name and date with a little smiley face. Definitely gonna find more
Wasn’t sure if we could get this one with the traffic, but with a bit of speed and stealth we had cache in hand, quickly signed and placed back as found. TFTC.
A bit muggle busy so a lot of hiding and pretending to be smoking haha. But found in the end TFTC
TFTC! A powercut at home made a perfect excuse to get out and find some local geocaches, rain meant to be coming in but hoping to get the whole DIDO series around the lake done without getting wet. Note: needs a new logbook + baggy, water has gotten in.
A quick easy find on my way from Rotorua to Gisborne on my road trip following the "Mega that wasn't" in Auckland over Labour weekend. TFTC.
Found the cache by Fluke. Someone has hit barrier and went for a wee fly by what I see.
Put back in an easy to find place and have messaged owner.
Awesome spot on our way back to Tauranga after a day of caching.

Have been out this way for my son (2FLYTIM) to visit a cemetary at Tapuaekura Marae so he could visit a school friend who passed away at 15. Such a peaceful place of rest there . . . . . high up on a lil hill behind the Marae . . . . . RIP young Kawa . . . . . . we stopped here on our way back to where we are staying to grab this cache . . . . . TFTC
Mum stopped here and I made a quick find - - we signed and rehid and headed back to where we are staying this weekend. TFTC
First road trip since COVID-19 and we headed to Rotorua for a long weekend. Quick and easy park and grab as we headed back to our accomodation
In Rotorua for the weekend with Jag50 for the GC45 plaque event so collecting as many caches as we can. Heading home so stopped to grab this on the way.
I needed one of these. The sun has set, and it is now starting to get dark. It is almost time to stop caching
This winter caching, with its short days, and dark nights! luckily for me this cache wanted to be found. Thanks for the hide squirrel nutcase

Vacations 2019 - Road trip trough New Zealand
With Geoesposa, this was my 50th anniversary. 16 days, 4200Kms and a few hundreds smilles after, i was sure i saw nothing....
I liked everything, the friendly and civilized people, the way the country works, the roads and especially the natural beauty of New Zealand.
I fell in love....
I decided to go back in 5 years, I easily see myself living my last days somewhere lost in any stunning scenery of this wonderful country.
With the itinerary studied at home, the caches were the ones that were in the chosen places, and a few used to stretch the legs. It was decidedly not the most important on this trip. Of all the visited, only half a dozen did not appear, all being in good health except two or three.
I will use this generic log, not for disrespect of the owners, but due to the amount of caches visited. Here the majority of caches serve to show something beautiful (as it should be), not giving importance to the container.
My thanks to all the ownwers who, allied to the natural beauty of the country, have made this vacation unforgettable.

On a spur of the moment road trip with Philip.perry I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing us here. Cheers
I wasn't expecting to stop for this one but I was pleasantly surprised to see on my gps that I was driving straight towards GZ so I stopped at the purposely built geocachers carpark and grabbed the cache. The road was reasonably quiet at 5.30pm.

After the sheep kissed us awake this morning we said goodbye to our european neighbours and went on along the east coast across the Raukumara Forest Park. We visited the tallest Kahikatea tree of NZL (really no cache there?), the very beautiful church of Raukokore (with cache) and the swiss hut also with cache, fresh fruit and real fruit ice-cream - again very delicious. Before we reached Rotorua we could smell it. We passed Hells Gate and this was the start of our tasty stay in this area. Not a lot of caches but an unforgettable experience of sense.

On our 34th day in New Zealand we went on from Rotorua to Whakatane. Happy New Year and all the best to all the cache owners! It was a short trip and therefore we had time to enjoy the scenery and search some geocaches. Not all of them were easy because sometimes there was no place to stop or too dangerous to cross the road. But there were so many caches that we were still able to get some.
This was the first street crossing involving cache for us for today but easy to do. Also the box was quickly found.

TFTC

The Central North Island, Day 3: Tauranga - Taupo
A slight rainy and overcast day today as we move southwards from the Bay of Plenty to Lake Taupo via Te Puke and Rotorua. The rain didn’t hinder the search much throughout the day. In fact, it was pleasant for most part and kept the muggles at bay. Had plenty of fun searching out some quality caches along the way, and enjoyed the views and had a little cruise at the end of the day too.
The following is the specific log for each cache:
A quick little cache picked up while on the way to Rotorua for lunch. Traffic was fairly busy today so had to be cautious at the crossings. Otherwise all good here, easy find, TFTC!

Second day in Rotorua. We are visiting from Toronto ON Canada to spend 25 days with our daughter who lives in Wellington NZ. We have planned a driving tour of both the north island and the south island. Quick stop at GZ. Found at 3:05 PM. Thank you squirrel nutcase for placing and maintaining this cache.
22372 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we were went from Rotura to Whaketane, seeing nice places and visiting caches along the road. on both sides. Crossing the road is not always safe.
At arrival we walked through the town to see more beautifull places/shops/streets, a waterfall and a lion. There was also an EC in the middle of the town around a maoiri like area.
Most caches were found quite quickly. A few took more time. Some were wet with waterproof paper, but our stamp and pen did not work that good on such paper when it was wet.
