Container removed on 2/10/2020. The original trunk collapsed at some point, which blocked the original hide (several finders were unable to replace it properly, so it was often in the wrong spot & required zero skill to find). Removing as it could only be hidden in a typical & boring fashion!

27-Sep-20
A beautiful little spot. So much wildlife around. Container is broken and no longer waterproof. TFTC

13-Sep-20
Out for a stroll around Mulligans, lots of baby wood ducks and swampies out today

24-Aug-20
Easy find. Probably not the original hide. TFTC

24-Aug-20
Easy find, this is not the original location so hint wont mean anything.

08-Jul-20
I headed out here for some exercise and a cache. Thankfully there weren't many muggles out, I saw three on foot and three on bicycles. Saw a few kangaroos lazing around while I walked. Once at GZ I started searching and after a few minutes spotted the hide. Log stamped and all replaced and I headed back. TFTC.

Eventually found by geokid after a bit of a hunt around. TYFC!

17-Apr-20
Lovely location and an easy find, but lots of muggles around. TFTC!

11-Apr-20
Swung by to check the cache.

The trunk appears to have shifted and the original hide is inaccessible. It's now a standard (crappy) cache hide in what's left. A nearby stump has also gone missing, which is odd. There's also a wildlife camera pointing at GZ too.

This will need to be reset/reworked.

TFTC Smile So pleased to have found this cach at the end of a long day caching in Mulligan's and beyond. I had been searching for the perfect spot to drop Travel Bug Froggy, and this little froggy hollow was indeed perfect. Shame there is no water in the dam, but hey, maybe froggy will bury himself for a while as frogs do when it's dry!

08-Nov-19
A half day caching with Kiteslayer on my birthday. Blustery wind. 100% finds today - remarkable for my demonstrated skill. Lots of roos and wallabies, 3 bettongs, 2 echidnas, 1 shingleback. Nice quick find, probably not as hidden. No wires in sight (or in site). TFTC.

07-Nov-19
Found on a birthday caching outing with JohnnyBoyACT. Saw lots of critters despite the weather and had a great time visiting places we hadn’t seen before.

This one wasn't reset properly, had a look for wires but couldn't find any. Still though, a pretty location and a good walk to get to it. TFTC!

07-Nov-19
A nice slightly of the path find on a walk from Mulligans Flat to Goorooyaroo. TFTC

21-Jul-19
À great Sunday for caching in Canberra, started out very cold, but turned into a perfect day. Did lots of kilometers of walking on and off track and could have saved a lot of time by taking the pushbike, but really enjoyed the walk.

Quick find number #17 this evening as the stars, planets, and moon glimmered overhead. Cache was fairly exposed, we spotted the wire and not sure if the cache had creeped. But other than that it was in great condition and a lovely bit of old wood here and some nice views towards the urban lights.
Replaced as best we could using the hint as a guide, not perfect but a little better.
Thanks for the cache .

After a big day caching the Centenary Trail between Mulligans Flat Road and One Tree Hill by bike, then a mandatory rest day, it was time for some hiking in Mulligans Flat and into Goorooyaroo, picking up CCT series caches that didn't exist last time I cached this area (plus a couple of detours). A great and tiring day with some wonderful close encounters with wildlife and some big storm clouds that threatened but withheld.

Very clever. Really nice to find something a bit different - fun to find and rehide. Great spot too - I was keeping an eye out for snakes (mainly to photograph them) and this did seem a prime location, but none to be seen. Or felt. TNLNSL TFTC Smile

It's been a long while since we've done a caching marathon, so today we left The Woofer at home and headed out to Mulligans Flat. We spent just over 5 hours wandering the trails, found 43 caches, and encountered lots of wildlife. We left goodies in every container that would fit one. What a gorgeous place!

We'd been commenting on how much the gates/fences reminded us of Jurassic Park, and how we kept expecting a T-Rex to come across the field. Imagine our surprise when we opened the container and found one...sort of! Pic attached. Replaced as instructed. A very nice hide, and something different from the others along the track. TFTC! Smile

Aquilus1 and I decided to finish the last of the CCT Trail we had left.

Not a boring cache at all, it put a spring in my step. TFTC!!!

30-Sep-17
With dty73 we had a very early morning start to see about the CCT from Horsepark drive through to Mulligans with many side trips for other caches along the way. Started out to be a very cold morning not getting much better with the strong and cold wind through most of the day. Nice creative cache and found ok as well, except for the prickle bush i knelt it while looking! Although without the notes for this cache suspect this could have taken a while. TFTC geo_hack.

We rode in from the East to complete another section of the ever popular CCT Series. Despite a chilly start, the day soon warmed up to what was an almost perfect day out in Canberra's bushland. While for the majority of the day the only traffic we encountered was air traffic above us, we were run off the road at one point by an ignorant local driver, presumably using the trials to access various parts of his neighboring land...you know what they say about Canberra Drivers...

Thank you to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches we found. Apologies for the generic log, it certainly does not detract from the amount of fun and laughter we shared along the way!
____

Worth the detour from the CCT series. An ACT Parks Ranger was nearby monitoring some gauges, so we stopped for a quick power break to give the Ranger time to move on. After looking in the common 'goto' hiding spots, we broaden our search and came up...or maybe down?...with the goods. Loved the idea behind the cache and the simple execution of resetting the cache and hide. Worth a fav. from us!

Worth the detour as clue was intriguing - love it! Pretty clever and worth a star!

Went out with team "Capital Crunches" (Kittykatch, Joolay, mtrax, ACTchil, Darkside Dan and McKatieCJ) to grab the rest of the CCT - S2 series starting at Mulligans Flat finishing back at Federal Highway. We searched for ages and then I spotted the container with a nice little smile on my face. Definitely a favourite point from me. TFTC geo-hack

Found with he Capital Crunches group (Kittykatch, DarzeeDi, Joolay, mtrax, ACTchil and McKatieCJ) today on a walk from Mulligans Flat to Federal Highway. This one had us all searching for a while until Darzee found the very cool hide. Gets a FP from me. TFTC

hmm almost didn't find this one sneakly location down low.

A group find with the Capital Crunchers back for stage 2, weather was a bit overcast which was a perfect for the walk, took us about us about 4.5 hours with a couple of detours to do this part of the SST. Terrain quiet flat and unfortunately couldn't bring geodog along but enjoy the company of KityCatch,Darzee Di , ACTChil Joolay , McKtcj and Darkside dan.
excellent day out.

thanks geo-hack

Found today (date stamp was wrong month) with Capital Cruchers made up of ACTchil, Darzee Di, KittyKatch, MTrax, Darkside Dan, Joolay and McKtCj. Great day for a walk and good company. This was a good one. TFTC

Finally cracked it - the third of my previous DNFs found today. This is brilliant - am learning fast. Thank you, geo-hack.

05-Mar-17
Well that was a little trickier than expected! I was about to give up, thinking that the geocache was long gone. But a final review of the area revealed another potential hiding spot. Eureka! There was the telltale sign. TFTC

14-Feb-17
Spent quite a bit of time here poking around but no luck. No. 9 for the day and first DNF

19-Nov-16
We spent quite a bit of time searching for this one. Even had a previous finder with us but no luck. We did see a very sweet little skeleton of a small animal inside the hollow.

Headed out today with SpecimenX and ZimbaW to walk the CCT trail from Mulligans Flat to the Goo. These caches have been on the radar for some time, and even though it was forecast to the warm, it was too good an opportunity to pass up! Found most of the caches in line with hints, but a couple eluded us in the end. By the end, we were hot, thirsty, tired and sunburnt but happy to have walked the trail and grabbed a bucket load of caches. We still have a few to grab, but perhaps on a cooler day! Loved seeing all the flora and fauna - especially a number of lizards, dragons, and rosellas. Huge thanks to the cache owners for giving us an excuse to head out for a hike and exercise.

Sadly, a DNF for us today on this one. It was really warm by now, and though we spent a bit of time poking here and there, we could not bring the container to light. Another day perhaps, thanks geo-hack!

02-Oct-16
My second day caching in the ACT this long weekend. I down here for a rich caching ground and found myself walking deep within Goorooyarroo and Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve. Surrounded by mobs of kangaroos, swooping magpies, rosellas, and three echidnas! A total of 29km, 64 finds and 3 DNFs. Unfortunately I also found out the hard way that winter is over and the UV rays are burning again.

Hopefully I will be back someday to continue on the caching trail.
Thanks for all the caches.

Found the cache on a short stint in the Goo and Mulligan's Flat. I have returned the cache to its intended spot (I believe), with the assistance of a securing 'device'. TFTC geo-hack

Some time to myself before switching jobs so I decided to use the nicer days to get out and grab some caches.

The fog had finally lift enough to head over to Mulligans for a walk. Continuing my walk around Mulligans, this was the next one found, found this one within the fallen tree. Yes I read the notes, I THOUGHT I knew where the CO wanted it, however the location I THOUGHT it was, the container didnt fit, so I replaced it where the previous finder had it hidden.

Thanks for the cache geo-hack Cool[^]Big Grin

01-Sep-16
Found this one straight away. The container was lying on the ground next to a fallen tree. Because I did not retrieve it, I did not know the correct gimmick for hiding it. I have replaced it in the fallen tree using the GPS. There were multiple potential hides. So the CO may need to reset it.

#1885 A quick easy find with green-martian, Duffco and the geokids. TFTC.

06-Aug-16
Decided to clean-up caches in this area with TheSkype, Duffco and geokids. I've been here before when the older series of caches existed, so it was deja vu. The track was water logged in some parts but a great walk up to main fence near cct2 electric cache. Tftc.

We found this cache nicely camouflaged on the ground along with some scrunched up duct tape and what appeared to be a broken rubber strap.
Having read the note we still had no idea where this cache should be or how it should be positioned. Based on the broken rubber strap I would guess something has broken.
The cache container itself and it's contents are in good condition so we placed it back where we found it.

Found on a weekend caching blitz to the ACT with Hoojar and The Rats. We came, we saw, we biked, we walked, we had plenty of fun along the way Big Grin.

Saturday was our monster day basically tackling the long snake of caches between Majura and Hall. A generic log like the others have used but that does not take away from the great CCT and other cache placements. TFTC!

09-Apr-16
After a few weeks of planning, and a number of attempts to align calendars, this weekend I came down to Canberra and the ACT area for a big weekend of caching with The Rats and steeba. On bikes, on foot, and in the car, we targeted a number of series and Power Trails placed since our last trip down here. The weather was perfect, the company exemplary, and the numbers achieved exceeded my expectations. It was a very long and tiring weekend, but of course it was also extremely satisfying!

Saturday was a big day. A very big day. Probably classified as a huge day! A massive amount of terrain was covered via various means. We went through suburbia, we rode along trails, we pounded the pavement. We found caches in several series, mostly along the Canberra Centenary Trail and it's surrounds. What a buzz! I really enjoyed the varying terrain, a few hills, some lovely wooded sections, and some amazing views. There is nothing quite as satisfying as going to bed knowing that you are thoroughly exhausted, and really earned your sleep!

Thanks to the all of the cache owners for placing their caches. Sorry for the mainly generic logs.

Cheers

[Teal]Came down to Canberra for a weekends caching with Hoojar and steeba. Taking advantage of the perfect weather conditions we had two great days riding our bikes around some of the newer powertrails that dot the city and suburbs.

Super Saturday had us racing around town from first light till the last rays of the day. We did different trails, different types of caches different types of hides, we used different forms of transport but most of had a great day.

Thanks to the various CO’s for placing these caches. My apologies for the generic log but it doesn’t detract from the fun we had finding them.

2:32pm 3/4 - #32 of 50. A nice diversion from our CCT run.

For Mrs Froggycache's birthday we decided we'd have a go at our first trail - a great opportunity for us to get out doing something we really enjoy together, sans tadpoles.

We started close to home with Section 2 of the Canberra Centenary Trail series, beginning at the southern end off the Federal Highway and Horse Park Drive. The big goal was to bag 50 for the day. We walked much further than we anticipated, picking up a couple of non-CCT extras along the way - but there were still more than we could manage in the few hours we had available to us. The latent OCD in us will ensure we'll be back to clean up anything we missed.

Thanks to Champs2Monkeys and AngelG27 for the CCT run, and all the other COs for your hides.

We decided to head out for a run through Mulligan's Flat to Goorooyaroo today. It was a pretty hot day, and so we packed up the camel-backs with plenty of water and wore our heavy duty legionare caps for protection.
We have run here often over the last few years, and really love the area. It is so peaceful and the changing bush land scenery is Australia at some if its' best.
The cache appeared to be almost exactly where we thought it should be...so hopefully someone has replaced it correctly before us.

Thanks geo-hacks for the adventure,

Domsky

Sunday 14 February 2016 (Valentines Day) - a hot summer's day in the 30s with a brilliant blue sky with the only breeze coming from riding my cross-bike faster. Found 32 caches in 5 hrs over 18.1 kms starting at 8.30am. Must get a proper bike for this terrain - a mountain bike! Second time lucky. Quick and easy find. Thx p2p. TFTC.

# 2103 The plan for today was to clear the last of the Muligans Flat caches and get some kilometres into my legs. I have been so lazy lately with a torn hamstring.

For some reason, every time I look for caches in Muligans Flat, I am always on the wrong side of the fence for a cache. I rode up the hill, through the gat and then back down to the dam. Once again, I sat down for a drink and relax in the shade.

After today's orienteering in the Goorooyaroo reserve, I jumped on the bike to collect the caches along the Centennial Trail. Once the cache trail ended I continued on for a couple more. This one had me beat for a while. So pleased when I eventually spotted it. From here I headed back the way I came. TFTC.

Went for a 7 hour bike ride/ walk with Ginger Floppsy today around mulligans flat finding about 20 geocaches! It was a very eventful day.

Was quite impressed by the fallen tree, and also the other nearby tree at this dam! They are quite interesting trees haha Smile Took a little to find this one looking in many holes all around GZ.... but eventually spotted where it was!

15-Nov-14
Today we took five scouts to do some geocaching in Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve. A route was planned to visit 17 caches. The young scouts were to go anti clockwise around the loop, while the older ones went clockwise. The younger scouts found six while the older ones found eleven before we had to return to the scout hall. A good time was had by all.

Thanks geo-hack for the hunt and the cache.

A first look didn't get me the cache so started going back through previous logs. Hmmm a tricky one... Began a systematic search and soon had the container in hand. Startled a cockatoo who took off noisily and startled me right back.

Out for a bit of Friday arvo caching on yet another beautiful spring day.

Once again found myself on the wrong side of the fence and had to backtrack. This was not an easy find and I was about to pack it in when espied it. The shear number of potential hiding spots makes this tricky. I was wary of snakes too with all the long grass, but nothing today. Thanks for the tricky hide.

Took me about 15 minutes at GZ to find the cache. Partly cause my brain wasn't in gear, and partly because I tried a host of incorrect locations before finally finding the right one. Tks geo-hack!

Out for the day on the bike, this was the first cache after a long ride to get here.

Looked in all the wrong spots again, but eventually spotted it just as I was leaving. Very well hidden.
