JTreeTrack2 was out and about with Mr Dromaniax and the company of our Muggle parents. They Thoroughly enjoyed the trip, the sites, the effort gone in to placing caches in fascinating areas and places. The caches that we came across were all in good condition and were signed and returned as found. Thankyou to all the effort that has gone into placing the cache. Sorry for the generic log, my logging has 7 months of unloved. Thanks again for placing this cache.

We arrived in Eddington today after spending a few days in St Arnaud arriving there on Sunday where we decided to stay for a couple of days before continuing our journey to Bendigo. Here we caught up with our good friends Tyred n Cranky and Fuf009, while we were here we also met up with ChooknChunk.
Here at Eddington we were impressed with the town, the area and the camp spot behind the hall, fantastic just fantastic. The multi here was very informative. From here we have journeyed to Dunolly, We had a wonderful lunch at the bakery and a great tour around town using geocaching as our tour guide.

Find #2749 for me. Found at 10:13am with my dog Bonnie. After viewing the Google Earth image for this one from the comfort of home, it wasn't clear whether the track in would be suitable for my 2WD, so I planned for 2 possible routes in and was expecting I may have to walk several hundred metres. After tentatively inching my way in from the south-west, I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to drive my car right up to GZ with the cache literally only a couple of metres from where I parked. Fantastic location! Thankfully no redback spiders were to be seen, so thanks to lorigus74 for its relocation! I really enjoyed the journey to get to this one with all its uncertainties (makes bush caching all the more interesting and challenging in a 2WD!) so thanks so much for this cache placement tigersden!

Found after a fun drive in the bush

03-Jan-22
As we were driving towards this cache, we had to go around a substantial puddle. It struck us as weird as it is incredibly dry out here. We pulled up just past the water and went back to have a look. GT37 had noticed that downhill from the puddle, there was a fair amount of greenery yet uphill there was none. When we walked back, there were a number of holes visible as the water could be seen bubbling up from underneath. Two of the holes were seriously running. We thought that someone would have reported it as there were shrubs about thigh height on the down hill. After the call, we had no confidence that anything would be done. Another small leak was noticed further up the pipeline so another call was made. Different person answered and was sooooo much better. Very interested in where and how bad. Within half an hour, an engineer had called back to ask more questions as he was heading out immediately to see what could be done to stem all the flows. Amazing. That was quite a saga so we were pleased to make an easy find here. The cache was covered better when we left. Thanks for the cache.

Found today on a caching escape with Geoturtle37.
As we approached this cache, we had to skirt around a large puddle of water on the Pipeline Track. Noting the running water, we initially thought it was a natural spring, but we soon realised the pipe had a major leak. Then more leaks. GT37 did the good deed for the day and rang Coliban Water to report it, being concerned for the effect it may be having on the water supply to Dunolly. Needless to say there were some interesting phone calls between them. There was also a small leak on the valve nearby this cache too, but this one was only a drip and was not as critical as the gushing water up the track. Anyway the cache was found nice and quickly as it was poking out from its camo. The container is in good condition and we returned it and covered it carefully to not be exposed at all. In Dunolly for the St Arnaud MEGA with my dearest friend Kato Potato and we decided that rather than head back to the MEGA, we'd take the circuitous route home to Gippsland by cleaning out Dunolly and picking and choosing on our way home. We looked in every wrong spot there is until I was standing facing the right way and saw obvious cache camo. TFTC tigersden

In the area for the St Arnaud Mega event and once again privileged to be able to spend the whole weekend with Mummy Short Legs on a mum's weekend away, our scared annual Caching Adventure without the families in tow.

After spending a lovely two nights in the area we decided we needed to make sure that we honoured the local caches by finding as many as we could before setting off home today. We wandered and chatted out to this point, the 2WD safely parked a bit further away. Took a few circles before MSL was facing the right way and spotted it. TFTC tigersden

Bumpy drive out to this cache - passed a couple metal detecting on the way in and was going to stop and see how they were doing on the way out - however think I scared them off and they were gone when I drove back.

Easy find of the cache - hard area to turn around but a 12 point turn did the job!
Nice to find this lonely cache and it is in good condition.

Thanks tigersden for all your good caches in the area.

Suscoe's 18th find of 34 for today.
The weather has improved since yesterday and while there was some cloud, the sun was often shining as we drove the road to Dunolly and beyond.
We enjoy these opportunities to wander along bush tracks in the XR6, low clearance makes for a fun drive.
Finally got to GZ after a few backtracks due to deep ruts and high rocks, but why spoil the fun!!!!!!
Log signed and all good, then found a spot to turn and away we went to the next cache,
Thanks to tigersden for placing this cache here.

From the nearby "Loddon Limits", I figured there must be a way to reach this cache with a bike ride through the forests Big Grin
It was a long and twisty ride, but eventually I got within cooee of GZ.
A short walk was all that was required to finish off this cache Smile

Nice spot !!

And from here the way back to towne seemed pretty obvious.

Find #1604 @1437H

Well with the day being so good I decided to go for a drive in the country side, down Dunolly way, and grab a few caches as I went along.

I managed to find a good road in to this one but in the end I still had to walk 100m to GZ as I took I minor wrong turn, but in the end it looked the easiest way out in a 2WD ute.

Took Skull and Crossbones ring, Left Starfish.

What better way to spend a Sunday than caching? I decided that on this fine, sunny day I would have a crack at some of the caches around the Dunolly region.

Following the compass via bush tracks I ended up on the correct one! It was a bit on the wet side, but there were plenty of side tracks that could be used to avoid the major wet stuff.

Nice and easy find once at GZ. TFTC

At 1.35pm. I opened the car door, took two steps and picked up the cache. Tftc.

We were looking for a place to stay when we noticed this one was only a short distance away so we decided it would make our last for today. The pipeline looks quite old but in good condition and we enjoyed following it over the highs and lows before reaching GZ. A quick search in the wrong location soon had us looking back at where the GPSr was pointing and from there it was another easy find. Now with the sun starting to set we agreed this was the last one and started looking for a camp site for the night, lucky they weren't hard to find.
Thanks again tigersden.
